The food was really good, the atmosphere was also nice including a really nice open kitchen. This made it quite pleasing. The only remark is that the service was not very engaging and present. I'd say that some interaction between costumer and waiter could be really good, as it would fit the good atmosphere and food.

I had an absolutely beautiful dinner here, the kind that reminds you how comforting, soulful, and quietly elegant Georgian food can be. We started with the Khinkali (portion of 3 pieces), and they arrived Cayman-level piping hot—steaming, plump, and perfect. Our server gave us the classic instructions: no utensils, hold the dumpling by the little knob, take a small bite, and sip out the broth. It was such a heartwarming, nourishing moment. The flavors aren’t flashy or overly complex, just deeply wholesome and nostalgic. With a sprinkle of black pepper it becomes one of those deceptively simple comfort dishes that make you pause and appreciate how satisfying good food can be. We also tried the Kupati, their home-made Georgian sausage served with thyme and pomegranates. The flavor was incredibly herbal and earthy, yet somehow still light. The tomato-based sauce it’s paired with is served chilled, and that contrast makes the whole dish pop. Bright, fresh, fragrant—one of the most unexpectedly delicious bites of the night. The Shkmeruli – Guinea Fowl (Parleghen) was another standout. Beautifully cooked, with crisp skin all the way around, not just on one side. The seasoning was subtle and restrained, relying more on the quality of the bird and the balance of the garlic and butter sauce than any heavy spices. It’s a unique dish—simple at first glance but deeply satisfying. For the main event, we had the Chakapuli, the slow-cooked lamb in wine, tarragon, coriander, spring onions, and Tkemali. It arrives in a little cast-iron pot, still bubbling. The broth is surprisingly light—white wine-based, bright, almost delicate—yet somehow rich at the same time. The lamb itself is fall-apart tender. Like everything else here, the flavor profile is simple but thoughtful. This is soul food, but elevated: rustic technique paired with precise cooking and quietly confident seasoning. One of the most comforting dishes I’ve had anywhere. Overall, this restaurant delivers a gorgeous balance of tradition and refinement. Nothing is overworked; every dish feels like a family classic made with care. A truly memorable dinner—nourishing, deeply cozy, and absolutely worth a visit if you want Georgian food that feels both authentic and elevated.

The variety of dishes is poor. You need to reserve the table before. The food was really good , not all of the waitress was nice, just one . Tables are really small so sit really close to another people and if you need to get out it's really difficult. The prices are not cheap at all . 1 beer is 10 euro and no basic soft drinks like cola or something like that . Also its not possible to split the bill if you come with the company .wasn't bad but I would not come back.

Overall I think it's not a very nice dinner experience. I hope they can improve the table seatings and the knives for meat. The couch is too low for the table which made the dinning a bit uncomfortable, but the chair on the other side is way taller, which made it a bit awkward to have normal table conversation due to the imbalance of the seating height. The pork belly could be amazing to pair with some veggie, but there's almost none. But the worst part is the cutlery, the knife is not the proper meat knife for cutting the pork belly, I almost need to force to cut it and still can't make it in the end…the taste is also not amazing enough for me to try even harder.

Disappointing Experience Despite High Expectations We recently visited Batoni Khinkali, Georgian restaurant that I had been looking forward to trying, but unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. Even though I had made a reservation in advance, we were seated at a table right next to the entrance — the least comfortable spot in the entire place. Throughout the meal, every new guest passing through the door stopped or brushed by our table, completely ruining any sense of atmosphere or privacy. I politely asked to be moved to another table, especially since the restaurant was almost empty at the time, but my request was still declined. This really set the tone for the evening. The food itself was underwhelming. The menu offered very limited choices — mostly variations of dough-based dishes that all tasted rather similar and lacked distinctive Georgian flavors. While I appreciate authentic cuisine, I expected a bit more variety and flavor depth. Overall, this visit didn’t live up to expectations. With better seating management and a more balanced menu, the restaurant could offer a much more enjoyable experience.

I found this restaurant quite pricey and with tiny portions. Which is not like in Georgia at all 😌For 2 people, we spent around €150 and left hungry, which is a bit unusual for a Georgian restaurant and having had starters and main dishes each. The interior feels simple, and the service could be improved. For example, after eating a starter, we were expected to leave our dirty cutlery on the table without receiving new ones for the main course—which felt unacceptable considering the price. Some dishes also felt a little light for the price; for instance, the duck comes without a garnish. Overall, the experience didn’t quite match the cost for me. I think with a few small adjustments in service and portioning, it could feel more in line with the price.

Khinkali were nice and the khachapuri was also good. Unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing. The air inside was super hot and oily, and the waiters kept ignoring us. When we got a second round of food they didn’t even change our plates. The wine was served warm and we weren’t offered a taste or any explanation. The last main dish was described as “for those who like tarragon,” but it turned out to be so unpleasant we couldn’t eat it. No one checked in at the end to see if we liked the food. Good flavors for some dishes, but the service and atmosphere need serious improvement.

Not as great as it used to be. Service was a bit lacking. We were never asked if we wanted dessert nor coffee. A bit sad.

Have been here three times now. I would say the appetizers, Khinkali and Khachapuri are comfortable and fantastic - combined with a delicious bottle of wine. The main courses are fine, but less impressive in comparison. Service can be a bit messy but I will keep on returning every year or so with a smile.

That is a subjective feedback: staff is good, restaurent is cute. food is average: - Phkali (a started) is a big big disappointment. That is relatively easy to prepare. The food looks tired. - Khinkali are good (I strongly recommend the classics ones - with pork/beef) the variation with cheese isn’t amazing. - khatchapuri is a big big big NO. Ok they are small, this is announced, but they are extremely small, there is more drought and not a lot of cheese. Those are a jewel from Georgian cuisine, I cannot validate what is proposed here. - wine are goods

I didn't really like the place. When asked if we could drink our own water, they said "no, you're not home." I think such a simple question could have been answered politely with "no." When ordering, we didn't order drinks (we didn't want to), they literally threw a bottle of ice water on the table. We ordered khinkali. Who would drink cold water with hot dough? (You can't do that.) Also, the prices don't match the quality of the food.

The food was delicious! I'm taking one star off for the portion size... the duck was served solo as the main course, without any accompaniments. At that price, it's a bit excessive. Looking at the menu from three years ago, it was served with salad and bread. Friendly service.

First time trying Georgian food. Made a reservation and had a pretty good experience at this restaurant. We ordered the Khinkali, Acharuli Khachapuri and a lamb dish. Overall very good price for the quantity.

Too small portions for Caucasus kitchen, to high price, menu is very very small! We just had a wine and didn’t order food, unfortunately, The waiters were eyeing me very sternly, with judgmental looks. They poured the wine straight into the glass without offering a taste. When I asked if they spoke Russian, they said no — and did so with obvious displeasure, even though the whole former Soviet Union speaks it.”

I was here for the second time today—and unfortunately, I won't be back. I'm from Kharkiv and speak Ukrainian, but I use Russian in my personal conversations with my wife. Unfortunately, because of this, I was treated unfriendly by the staff. The first time, I thought it might be my fault, but today it became painfully clear: I didn't feel welcome, and my personal boundaries were being violated. That's a shame, because the food here is truly fantastic. I love Georgian cuisine—great flavors, filling, though the portions are on the small side. But most importantly, I felt uneasy because of the way the staff reacted to the language I use in private. That shouldn't be the case. Few Georgian restaurants are open on Mondays, so this might be the only option. Still, I'd rather wait for another day than have to feel that way again.

the taste of the food is not at all at the level of a Georgian restaurant, it is something more different, but Georgia for sure. the portions are very small. if you are a big man, then the restaurant is not for you. you will have to order several portions. the impression left was not wow.

The food was amazing I tried the Chakapuli it was just like how i tasted it in Kakheti. The staff were very friendly even though I had no reservation. The place is located in a quite area which makes it really peaceful to enjoy your meal. I would recommend trying the restaurant even especially if you haven't been to Georgia or tried their cousin before.

One of the best spots in Amsterdam to try the Georgian cuisine. Everything is perfect : the recipes, the menu and the choice of dishes, the taste, the service and atmosphere. I go there for lunch and dinner and can never get enough of it. Definitely recommend.

Er zaten Russischsprekenden aan de tafel naast ons. En ik hoorde wel meer Russisch in het restaurant.

The khinkali were fantastic, but everything we tried was outstanding. It was quite crowded and a bit tight inside and outside, but that only shows how popular this place is — and for good reason! The cozy vibe, friendly service, and incredible food made it totally worth it. A must-visit spot in Amsterdam!

Excellent dining experience. Some of the kitchen and waiting staff are Georgian so you can be assured that everything is made properly. It is a bit on the expensive side, but everything tastes great, I had the Khinkali, salad and the mushroom dish with cheese and it was all excellent. Their imported beers are very unique as well, I would recommend them.

Lovely khinkali - just a huge delight! Very tasty pomegranate beer. Good service. We liked the khachapuri and salmon for hot food less, but we will definitely come back for the khinkali! The place is quite small and everyone sits very close to each other. I don't recommend it for going with kids - I think it won't be very cozy.

The food is amazing, the servant was staring at me and my husband all the time we were there. We were the only table, in the very beginning of the evening. Also, political ideas should stay unspoken. You can have any kind of opinion, but showing it off - gross.

A very nice evening with tasteful food. I’m not an expert in that cuisine but I was with 2 companions who do know the taste very well. They were positively surprised. They also have a very good choice of Georgian wines with most of the wines made in a Qvevri. The service was also very friendly. I am definitely going back!

This was my first experience with Georgian cuisine, and I really enjoyed it. As a lover of all kinds of dumplings, I found their mushroom khinkali to be absolutely delicious. I was also pleased to discover several other vegan options on the menu. Alongside the dumplings, I ordered Lobio, a flavorful brown bean stew served with delicious bread. Additionally, I had the opportunity to taste the Pkhali, which my friend ordered, and I think I might try it on my next visit.

It was my first time eating Khinkali and I really enjoyed it. Service was really friendly. I would recommend to reserve a table. When we came it was so full we had to sit outside which was a little bit freezing.

Scandalous! We were asked to leave because there was another reservation… The four of us were having a nice meal and chatting. No one told us anything about a time limit when making the reservation. Nothing was mentioned about it upon arrival or during dinner. It wasn't until we had gotten our dessert and were waiting for our coffee that we were asked to pay several times. We actually weren't planning on leaving yet and wanted to have a nice chat, but anyway... good luck!

I had a wonderful experience at Batoni Khinkali in Amsterdam. The khinkali were incredibly delicious – perfectly seasoned and juicy, just as they should be. The khachapuri was also fantastic, with a lovely melted cheese and crispy dough. The service was very friendly and attentive. The staff really took the time to explain the dishes to us and make recommendations. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and inviting, perfect for an evening with friends or family. I highly recommend Batoni Khinkali and will definitely be back!
