Oeuf Amsterdam in Oude Pijp

Came by two weeks ago. Friendly, but quite bad service. It was almost empty, but still they forgot orders, got some (very simple) orders wrong, and seemed more busy with themselves than with guests.

A really cute place, in a very pleasant area of ​​Amsterdam, definitely worth a visit. We had brunch there and, unfortunately, we weren't thrilled with the food: overall, we found it a bit bland. That said, the atmosphere is very pleasant, and I'd still recommend stopping by, even just to explore the area.

Wonderful food, lovely atmosphere

Right in the middle of De Pijp, beautiful heated terrace, good service, nice atmosphere and delicious fresh food. Regular theme nights and good wines.

I went there for lunch with my family. Single-product restaurants are absolutely winning. Nice place, nice menu, nice street!

I loved the scrambled eggs with croissants. Their coffee is also quite good. I would definitely say it's worth trying.

Lovely spot for breakfast! We visited early on a rainy morning and got a table without any wait. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the Eggs Benedict was absolutely delicious. The shakshuka was a little spicy, but very tasty. Cozy and charming atmosphere — definitely recommend!

The service was terrible. I used to love this place and it was my go-to brunch spot with friends. The last time I visited, I brought friends who were visiting me, and unfortunately we were completely ignored by the waiter. We waited about 15 minutes for a table, which was fine. But after being seated, we waited another 30 minutes without even receiving menus. Meanwhile, several people who arrived after us had already been served drinks. We tried multiple times to get the waiter’s attention, but he kept serving other customers and never came over to us so we left the place. It’s really disappointing to see such poor service ruin what used to be such a great place.

Very bad services. Asked for the bill but kept us waiting for long. Food is very bad, ordered the Carbonara toast and it has absolutely NO TASTE. The burger was way over cooked as well.

Overrated and awful! The carbonara was tasteless and visually looked like the chef had vomited on the plate. The eggs Benedict were no better: bread, a lettuce leaf under a slice of bacon, and an egg. No effort was made to present it, no side dish, all for €17.50 with a food cost of €2… A rip-off!! Keep walking, it's really not worth it (waited 25 minutes).

The place is nice and the food is good. However, the portions are small and overpriced for what they contain (the burger is €17 WITHOUT fries, which are €7), and the service is extremely slow (40 minutes to be served for three plates). Good but overpriced are the key words to remember.

For a simple breakfast under ten euros, not bad. Upgrading for avocado is +3 euros, but you do get something in return.

My wife and I found this place while on vacation. We loved it so much we went back 2 days later. So good! The ricotta omelette is amazing!

The atmosphere was nice, cute tables in front and nice to have a good brunch with friends. The food was good, coffee as well. The service can be better. It took a long time to order and they forgot my coffee. Overall good experience with good coffee and good dishes.

The egg-based breakfast dishes were fantastic, and the atmosphere was lovely, but we felt a little pressured to leave right after the meal. We didn't get to enjoy it enough, which was disappointing.

We waited for around 45 min in the line as they had available seat. When I asked them when can we sit on the table, their answer was so mean. They only said : we need to wait. They should have answered more politely since we were here for a service. Breakfast was average.

There was a feeling that the staff was so busy being cool that taking care of their guests was not the top priority. But the coffee was great! Can’t say anything about the food as we just stopped for a drink and to relax for a while. Nice area and a lot of tables outdoors.

For a sunny Saturday brunch i only waited 10 minutes for a seat and was promptly served. Was recommended to get the Norwegian which was as delicious as my waiter said.

I had some free time during a business trip, so I had Eggs Benedict, and it was delicious. The atmosphere was nice, and the staff were friendly!

Unfortunately, I have received overcooked eggs and watery hollandaise sauce to oeuf benedict for €17.

Staying in leidseplein, it was nice to walk a few minutes and eat in a neighborhood restaurant that felt like it was for locals only. Breakfast was delicious.

We ate here for a late breakfast brunch on our last full (and very leisurely planned) day in Amsterdam. I had the eggs benedict, fresh squeezed juice (50/50 orange/grapefruit), and a café latté. I little pricey; but outstanding on the presentation and the taste was over-the-top delicious. Some of the flowers along the streets coming and going were gorgeous.

It used to be good. Now just bad management, chaos, and oily food.

Edited after coming back two years later: I came back here with a friend when we were in the city. I was excited to show her this place as i enjoyed it last time. Unfortunately the quality dropped. We arrived at 11.20 for brunch, had to wait almost 40 min to be seated although there were multiple free tables. That staff was slow and/or overwhelmed, seemed to be short staffed. But also: There is no system behind how they seat people and take orders… why can’t I already check out a menu while waiting in line? Why am I seated without being given a menu? … so many questions. Generally they seemed to be surprised to be a popular brunch place and have people show up… which makes no sense at all. The food: was ok, nothing special and therefore high priced. —- 2023: Oeuf is THE perfect brunch place. Not only is the staff super nice and super helpful, the food is just great. It’s all egg themed, you even get a tiny egg gummy bear at the end when you pay. And they have some of the best coffee in Amsterdam

Today we visited Oeuf for brunch as a group of five. Overall, the food was very good and left us with a positive impression. The dishes were tasty, well-prepared, and the drinks were also excellent. Unfortunately, the experience started a bit disappointingly. We had to wait in line for around 30 minutes together with several other customers, even though there were many empty tables available . It seemed that only two waiters were working, which did not match the number of guests at the restaurant. On the positive side, once we were seated, the service became very efficient. Our food and drinks arrived very quickly, and we did not have to wait at all after ordering. In summary, despite the long wait at the entrance and the understaffing issue, the quality of the food and the fast service after seating made the overall experience enjoyable.

We had a very unpleasant experience at Oeuf today. My wife and her friend were standing in line when her friend suddenly felt unwell and eventually fainted. Instead of understanding or help from the staff, they were met with mostly arrogant and snapping remarks. The blonde woman behind the bar, in particular, came across as very uninterested and unfriendly at a moment when someone literally needed medical help and humanity. What affected us most was the lack of empathy and respect. When someone faints, you expect at least basic decency and helpfulness from the staff. Instead, the atmosphere felt hostile and uncomfortable. We left feeling completely unwelcome. Based on this experience, we would absolutely not recommend this place to people who value respectful treatment and a safe atmosphere.

I had a really good time. The place was clean and the service was friendly and fast. I had breakfast/brunch and made a mistake in my order; they fixed it in a minute. Check your receipt; I made a mistake, but that can happen to anyone. Very nice setting, with tables inside and outside. I recommend it.

Little café with good vibes, we had a quick breakfast there. The matcha latte was the best we had in Amsterdam, and the food was also delicious. Service was nice and fast.

Overpriced, poorly presented, low-quality ingredients, and small portions. Just an average brunch, nothing special, and quite expensive for what you get.

The food was good but the male waiters were downright rude. We were there on 9/5 between 12-1pm and the two waiters with curly hair were rude, certainly not even a "tasty meal", thank you or simple gestures to make us feel welcome. It's a shame that the staff ruined this experience.

Normally, love it everytime! We come here many times. It is like a safe space brunch place to us! However, not sure because it was more crowded due to ADE events and everybody decided to brunch late or something, the general attitude was very dissappointing from one staff member. We waited to be seated. There are places inside, and outside. İnside is much smaller but we were willing to wait as long as it took as it was cold. The staff showed us a a table outdoor and we Said we wanted to wait and quite dismissively he said this is the only option. We were hesitant because I know normally they offer to wait longer for the inside and there were many people waiting who might have wanted to take the seat outside. Then, the family behind us asked if they have a place inside to other staff member and he said, nothing at the moment and it might take longer but they can wait which was completely a different response than no this your only option. In the end, we decided not to eat there. Frustrating because we regularly go here and no need to be rude or dismissive to customers as long as we are respectful and kind and which we felt we have nothing wrong to warrant the attitude. Hopefully something to be improved.

Absolutely outrageous! Almost all the dishes cost around €17, and you practically only get half a portion. The Eggs Benedict were tiny, and the Chicken Bagel was just half a bagel with hardly any chicken. And the chairs were incredibly uncomfortable.

Delicious brunch spot - such a cute space!

I went to Oeuf for breakfast again after many years, as I remembered it being really great and delicious in the past. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed this time, both in terms of taste and price. The service was only moderately friendly, and the food was very bland overall. I had the "Special Oeuf Carbonara" for €16.50, but it wasn't nearly enough to fill me up. My boyfriend had the classic Oeuf Benedict for €16.00, which was somewhat better. The cappuccino for €4.30 was at least decent. Since it was my birthday, I also ordered a Mimosa for a hefty €9.50, but that was also a disappointment: hardly any sparkling wine, not very fizzy, and the orange juice didn't seem very fresh. Overall, I just can't understand the hype anymore. There are simply too many better breakfast spots in the area now.

Great location and the menu is promising. What we got delivered was really bad. The burger lacked any kind of lettuce, cheese etc, only two slices of cucumber. The steak was horrendous. First it came raw, after return it was rare at best although we asked for medium well done twice. Lot of fat. Like a friend said next to us; I wouldn’t even give this to my dog, it’s waste meat. We ate literally one bite, rest returned so no food tonight. Staff didn’t even notice they got a full plate back. Service???

The wait for brunch was long, they sat us outside for quicker service, despite being chilly they had heaters which made it ok. The croque madame was fantastic, very delicious, and the latte was great.

Food is great but service is so bad, even for Amsterdam standards, even for De Pijp standards. I guess waiters are actually TV actors but just waiting table as a pass time activity. While I was trying to order after a good 15 mins of trying (there is only 2 more table other than me) - all waiters were busy with accomodating the lady who is taking photos for their menus ( i guess). I couldn't order, I was very hungry, so I left, no one even realized it...Never ever ever..

Honestly, I never write reviews, but this is a complete rip-off: we ordered eggs carbonara and got scrambled eggs that were utterly tasteless, three tiny pieces of bacon, and two dry brioche buns—all for the paltry sum of €17.50!!! It was truly awful, especially for a restaurant whose specialty is… well, eggs, actually!!!! Our truffle cheese fries arrived 50 minutes later; we had to ask for them three times. We shouldn't have insisted so much if we'd known they were actually just cold, pre-packaged fries with a tiny bit of cheese—€7.50. It's nowhere near as good as the hype on social media. We left still hungry and broke after eating such a bland meal. The juices, however, were good.

Nice atmosphere with French music, and that's about it. The portions of everything are small. The €6.50 orange juice comes in a pitcher smaller than the glass itself. The €15 shakshuka is small, with some crunchy bits in the middle, chickpeas, and a lot of olive oil floating on top – things I'd never seen before in a dish like that. IF YOU CAN'T EAT GLUTEN, DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE. In the year 2025, with the number of people intolerant to gluten, they didn't even bother to have a gluten-free, commercially produced bread for those cases. I ate my shakshuka like it was soup. Everything was lit by candlelight inside; I thought it was to create a feeling of comfort, but now I imagine it's to save money. In short, a typical place to feel chic, eat little, and pay a lot. Some people like it; it was packed. I don't recommend it, especially to Brazilians accustomed to good food (although they play bossa nova in French there).

Truly amazing. Came on a Sunday around 12 to grab brunch. We had to wait in line for around 20 min before getting seated so I would recommend to not come at rush hour as the wait had to be in the cold. There were tables available outside, some heating system has been implemented in the terrace but it still felt pretty cold. We were lucky enough to get a table inside where the atmosphere was amazing ! I got a carbonara œuf : scrambled eggs with guanciale inside a soft and crunchy brioche, topped with a lot of cheese… Yum!!! My friend got the truffle omelet which was also delicious !! I truly recommend this place

We were lucky to avoid the long weekend line. It was pretty packed, but the shakshuka and burger were worth it—and the juices were good!

The place is cute but smelled like urine which was very off. Food was a bit cold (esp the bread) Chicken bagel definitely did not meet expectation (no bagel, frozen guac, small chicken bites) Omelette was okay- There are nicer brunch places in the area. Would pass this one.

I tried the Oeuf Norwegian and the shakshuka, and both dishes were noticeably different from the usual versions you find elsewhere. Everything is cooked fresh to order, so expect around a half-hour cooking time, but it is worth the wait. The flavours are clean and well balanced, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. A lovely spot overall, especially if you are visiting Amsterdam and want something a bit special for breakfast or brunch.

Terrible food, we had three different types of food, waited 30 minutes + for basic food like eggs, burger etc, we were super hungry, still was very difficult to finish the food. Rose wine was tasting like apple cider. Taste are differ, As I can see a lot of fascinated reviews which misleaded me to eat here today. Girls waitresses were nice

We have seen several videos about Ouef and decided to visit them on our Amsterdam visit. First we have been waited for a table 10-15 minutes in a rainy weekday. We ordered Turkish egg (Cilbir) and Egg Benedict. Waiter didn't ask about how eggs to be done. Both were cooked as medium where we prefer runny. I believe this place is overrated by influencers on social media.
