We had a fantastic meal. First with our family, and last time with a member of the gym. It was great, the atmosphere was good, and they found solutions to ensure everyone was close together. Absolutely fantastic! Highly recommended.

The food was good, but there are also mice running around, and if you say anything about it, they just look at you and do nothing. Until the boss comes up with an excuse. So mice 🐁 in the kitchen are filthy too!

To be honest we were looking for a nice place to eat something and after a few nice places were booked, we came here. Right of the bat the waiter told us that if we want pizza, we're gonna wait about an hour, but for the rest of dishes about 20-30 min. So after going through the menu maybe 10 times we said that we are waiting for pizza, luckly my girlfriend suggested at the last moment to order just one, not two. Pizza came in about 45-50min, but was terrible, too much of everything on the poor pizza, and disproportionate amounts of ingredients on the pizza. I was amazed that it was so crowded inaide the place and they served this thing. Maybe i was unlucky with my pick, but sure thing I won t be trying another one.

I'm deaf. I asked for a different table than the one I reserved, because otherwise I wouldn't hear anything of the conversation. That was handled well. A little later, to my great surprise, the "chef" came to us and offered us an even better table. Top-notch customer service! Oh yeah, the food was just as good! I'll definitely go there again.

An unexpected visit to Bella Italia Assen. What a wonderful change of plans! The atmosphere was fantastic. It was very busy, which meant the wait for our food was a bit longer. But it didn't really bother us because the atmosphere was pleasant and cozy. The waitress has real talent for hospitality. She had a good overview and walked around with confidence and enjoyment. A valuable asset to the hospitality industry. The food was truly delicious. The pizza was generously topped. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again.

According to the reviews here, it's the best Italian restaurant in Assen. I ordered the Pizza Funghi with gorgonzola and got something I'd never seen before: a pizza with what looked like slices of cheese. So you can actually see a slice of cheese near the crust. It's slightly visible in the slice in my photo. The pizza itself was incredibly greasy and very salty. The restaurant is called Bella Italia, but the average Italian would have a stroke if they visited this place. I can't fault the service or the cozy location in the city center. But the pizza was truly subpar.

The store is being renovated in January 2020. Although it doesn't seem necessary. I'm curious.

The best pizza I've eaten in a long time

We both ordered scallops and each got a sandwich and a portion of fries to share. We asked if this was the way it was supposed to be, and were repeatedly told it was, and that it was a new idea the owner had created. We also noticed it was pretty quiet here, but now we understand why. What a disappointing evening out this was after so many years of being customers. Too bad, but they'll never see us again.

The food was delicious. A great menu with plenty of choices. Not 100+ pizzas, but a good selection. Customization is always possible. It's busy and large, so fewer stars for atmosphere. Ditto for service. Little time for conversation or humor in between. We found that a shame.

We had a lovely meal for four people. The atmosphere is good, and the place looks neat and tidy. Service is fast and polite, but they forgot which table we were at when we paid, which seemed a bit clumsy.

3 stars for food because of this experience. And 3 stars for service because of the discussion. If you order two portions of scallops, you get one small portion of fries and one small salad to share. When I asked, the server said, "The owner decided this." Really? We each pay for our own portion, so that should be a full meal. When I pointed out that this wasn't correct, I was given the excuse that it was "to combat food waste." Ridiculous. Whether I have to share my salad bowl is up to me – that's not up to the owner or the staff. Only after insisting with another employee did I finally get my own bowl. But this should never have been a discussion. For this price, I just want to get what I order. Period. A very disappointing experience. I wish it would change soon, I think most people won't be happy about this. Next time, I'll ask to pay only half the price because of the waste of money; everything is already so expensive! And what strikes me is that negative reviews are not responded to.

The oyster mushroom pasta is highly recommended. The pizzas are good, the pasta better. Friendly and fast service. You can sit both inside and outside.

The pasta is so delicious I ordered the pasta with quattro formagi and chicken it was amazing the pizza margherita and the quattro formagi are so delicious too plus the atmosphere inside the place is nice also there's an outdoor seating, I recommend it

Delicious pizza... I always forget to order small ones.

It's busy, disorganized and impersonal. We sat in the corner near the cash register and there was no attention paid to us at all. The pizza was also far too salty, not to mention the incredible thirst that subsequently arose. The last time for us at Bella Italia...

Ate the filetto del cuoco again. This is a tenderloin with Parma ham, oyster mushrooms and gorgonzola, topped with a spicy cream sauce. Again it was delicious and super tender, highly recommended. Friendly wait staff and despite the crowds we were served quickly. A good ambiance and also important, excellent seats (if you are over 1.90, this is not always self-evident) I eat here several times a year and the food is great every time. 05-10-24 Ate here again As usual, opted for the filetto del cuoco. Once again it was delicious, but this time the service was quite more chaotic and messy than before But in the end the food and atmosphere were great again! 22-03-25 Yet again I ate at my favorite Italian restaurant. I was planning to choose a pizza, but I opted for my favorite, filetto del cuoco. It looked very good again, but what was more important was that the meat was even more tender than the previous times. (Medium raw tenderloin) The knife went through the meat like it was butter and I enjoyed it again. And despite the crowds, the service was excellent. I'm already looking forward to the next time.

Delicious pizza, tasty antipasti. In short, great!

Had dinner at this fantastic pizzeria last night before visiting the theater. Despite the crowds on Saturday evening, we found a table and everything went smoothly. The service and kitchen run like a well-oiled machine. Very nice staff and the pizzas and desserts are great. Another top restaurant for us vegetarians. In combination with a visit to the theatre, a great evening out! Thanks for that, everyone at Bella Italia!

Already twice a pizza fish pizza and surprise from the chef. Unfortunately, both times there was little fruity on the pizza. Lots of tuna and shrimp. Little salmon mussels and anchovies. Too bad because the pizza base is delicious. But the pizza content that comes with it is little. Also the surprise from chef. Pizza prices have increased, but what comes with it has decreased. Ria

The pizza had a lot of meat, little flavor variety, and was very salty. The spaghetti was okay. Takeout is a disappointment. Moreover, the food was quite cold when we got back home. We live a 5 minute drive from the restaurant.

Fine pizzeria, located on De Markt in Assen, near the canal. You can park in the "De Nieuwe Kolk" parking garage or along the road in the paid parking spaces. We came with 6 people and were immediately able to sit at a table on the first floor. The menu is extensive, but the emphasis is clearly on the diversity of pizza. Logical for an Italian restaurant... Our pizzas were served fairly quickly, despite the crowds. The service at the table was also quite smooth and friendly. I personally opted for a quattro formaggi special. 4 types of Italian cheese with ham, salami and basil. The pizza was well prepared and the different types of cheese combine well with the basil. Add a nice, fresh Italian beer and you have a fun evening in a casual atmosphere. Definitely recommended when you are in Assen.

What a great restaurant, good cuisine, nice size pizza for a good price. We drive 260km for this and book a hotel for the overnight stay. Last time we didn't have cocktails with dinner. Highly recommended.

The food was bad. Meat was swimming in sauce and and was tasteless. I ordered a meat dish that came with lettuce, fries and rolls. I asked if the fries could be replaced with pasta aioli. This was no problem. I then had to ask for this several times (in the end I only got the pasta aioli) and in the meantime I indicated that the meat dish was not edible. Didn't eat this either. In the end I had a small portion of pasta aioli and as the owner had indicated not to put my dish on the receipt, they did charge for the pasta aioli. Scandalous! We will never go here again. In terms of general impression, the atmosphere was also chaotic. Always someone different at your table and employees who worked very chaotically.

I come here often and I often post a positive review, so there should be room for a slightly more negative review. We had ordered drinks and it turned out that a piece of glass had disappeared from the "mouthpiece", had bumped into something, anything is possible. Later it turned out that this piece of glass was at the bottom of the bottle. Fortunately this was at the bottom and not in my girlfriend's stomach. However, when addressing the staff to draw their attention to this, no apology was offered. She left, didn't even take the bottle with her and nothing was done with it. And no, it wasn't really busy. I'm not used to this here.

Hello, We felt like having a quick bite! Coincidentally, we were walking past this. Once inside we had a delicious meal, two pizzas and one pasta. The pizzas looked nice (unfortunately I didn't take any pictures), nice crust, well topped!! The pasta tortellini with meat was AMAZING! Rightly so, the sauce was delicious, just the right thickness, a delicious bite, so highly recommended!!! Next time we'll take the pictures 🍀😇

So far one of the better Italian restaurants I have eaten at. Atmosphere and service are top notch. Very cozy tent. Staff is fast and friendly. The food was also superb. My girlfriend and I had 3 courses. Haven't had such a good meal in a while. Highly recommended and will definitely come back here

Always very tasty food here, but: very salty. The pace is always good. You really have to ask for some time between the starter and the main course, otherwise you will still be chewing while part 2 is already on the table. The dessert menu has been the same for a long time, but it could use some updating. Always friendly staff and the pizzas are just really tasty. So it remains my favorite pizzeria!

Very tasty pizza with generous toppings, but quite expensive for Berlin standards. The waiters were nice, but no one spoke a word of Italian.

The atmosphere was nice, the inside was also quite beautiful. The food was mediocre. it looked like there were those cheap square slices of cheese from the supermarket on the pizza. Was tough. In addition, the tenderloin was bone and dry. And there was very little of it. Never experienced this before in an Italian restaurant. So they really have to pay attention to the quality of the products that go on the pizzas. Other than that it was fine.

We had made a reservation for 6 people, and we were looking forward to it, but now it turns out you are not allowed to smoke outside on the terrace, it is not mentioned on the site either, we will never come there again! The food was amazing and delicious desserts! The staff is a well-oiled machine. Ensures that everyone waiting for the opening of the terrace gets a spot on their beautiful terrace or in the restaurant itself. They keep a close eye on the customers so that they don't miss anything. Even the youngest of the bunch works like a horse. And one by one they are very friendly to the customers. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended if you are in the area, or like us, in van der Valk Assen. We had a very good meal here. In my opinion, certainly one of the best pizzas I have eaten outside of Italy itself.

The terrace was quite full, often a good sign. Upon arrival it seemed to be a nice dinner, as far as eating pizza can be classified as that. After the friendly arrival and ordering a drink and pizza, we apparently no longer noticed (our mouth became just as dry as the quattro formaggi as described below). The menu has a wide choice of various pizzas, probably the reason for the (assumed) popularity of the restaurant. My pizza del cacciatore was quite tasty. However, my wife's quattro formaggi was very mediocre, possibly the worst pizza ever (partially) eaten. The bottom had floated on fats and the top layer was liquid (fat). In that context it was very special that the intermediate layer was extremely dry in the mouth. How this pizza could be created in the oven through a combination of circumstances is a mystery to me. In addition, the blue cheese, the seasoning of a quattro formaggi, was virtually absent.

Unwelcoming, bad service, good food.

Was always one of the best in Assen, but not much is left of it. The food is ok but that's about it. You are not served food at the same time and you have to ask if you can have something to drink. For the money there are certainly better restaurants in Assen

Its a clean restaurant overal. Location could've been a bit better and its sad yhat you cant see the canal from the current location. 4/5 star overal The food is really good and they took the time to make it taste well

The best Italian I have ever eaten at. Didn't taste pizza, but table companions were very satisfied. The tagliatelle was phenomenal, delicious and a generous portion. The desserts are surprising and extremely tasty. Highly recommended! And certainly worth repeating.
