We attended the "Into the Grave Festival" in Leeuwarden from June 12th to 14th, 2026. On Saturday, we were looking for a pizzeria and came across Bella Roma. We received a warm welcome. We ordered a Pizza Salame and Spaghetti Carbonara. After a short wait, our food arrived, and it was absolutely delicious, with generous portions. We highly recommend this restaurant, especially because of its charming atmosphere and the incredibly friendly staff.

We had a delicious meal here, a super sweet chef who was very attentive and came up with solutions for some changes to our order. Top notch! :)

I had a very bad experience. The food was not tasty at all and the quality was poor. The place was also not clean and the staff behaved rudely, especially the owner. Unfortunately, I am completely dissatisfied and I will not be coming back here.

Ordered pasta bolognese and marinara. Neither tasted as expected. It was a kind of watery tomato cream sauce and was spicy too. The bolognese contained not a single piece of vegetable, and I could find a stray piece of minced meat here and there. The marinara consisted of the same watery tomato cream sauce into which pieces of salmon and a few mussels had been stirred at the last minute. Miraculously, I didn't get sick. Very disappointing.

To start on a positive note, the waitress who served us was friendly, spoke a little Dutch, and was easy to understand. The time between ordering and the food arriving at the table was 15 minutes, perfect! I ate here with my boyfriend; I ordered Pasta Bolognese. What I was served was far from it. On my plate lay: an orange cream soup in which the pasta was drowned, with only a few pieces of minced meat. The worst part was that it absolutely did not taste like Bolognese, but more like a carrot-seafood combination. We were practically the only ones in the place. The waitress and the chef kept standing by the bar talking. It felt like he was watching us the whole time and seemed a bit nervous when I took out my phone. Not a nice feeling. Also, we weren't asked if everything was to our liking.

The workers are amazing, but i have sources saying that they have mouses in the kitchen eating from the food while its still being sold to the people. Food is often sold expired

The restaurant makes Thuisbezorgd staff wait outside in the cold and rain. On top of that, they act as if the 'order' has been forgotten. Bad business; they should also be considerate of the people delivering food for the restaurant.

Well, this was a real shame. We'd been curious about this pizzeria for a while. We ordered online. After an hour and a half or two hours, we called to ask where it was. It turned out they didn't have any delivery drivers at all, so we had to order again through Thuisbezorgd. We did get a cash refund with the order, but if it's already after 9 p.m., you should have given a little extra as an apology. The food was okay, but not again.

Gluten-free pizza and pasta were delicious!!!! And the service was AMAZING!! So friendly. It really felt like a family pizzeria! A fun experience! And it was great that everything was gluten-free.

We had a lovely meal with four people, and the surprise menu was delicious, with a nice variety of dishes. I would recommend this place to everyone; it's good quality and affordable.

We had a truly delicious meal here. Bruschetta as a starter, quattro formaggi speciale as a main course, and three scoops of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce for dessert. We also had two glasses of red wine. I recommend it to everyone. We ordered pasta but initially received two pizzas. Their names are similar, so they didn't make a fuss about it at all. We were then given what we had ordered without a word of complaint. Our compliments to this restaurant. And for the confusion, we both received a limoncello on the house. We had a wonderful evening.🥰

A decent Italian restaurant/pizzeria on the lively Sint Jacobsstraat in the center of Leeuwarden. From the outside, the place looks nice and cozy. Inside, I found it a bit dated and dingy. However, the staff was super friendly and welcoming. My carpaccio starter was okay (though with a lot of arugula), but not exceptional. I was disappointed with the "Carbonara Special" pizza. Far too many ingredients, the crust was soggy, and the onions looked like they had been added raw (at the last minute).

Best pizzeria in Leeuwarden, you can eat the tastiest pizza here. We come here once every month. (or two) Service and chef always friendly.

Bad food. Pasta was cooked for 2 only minutes. Sauce was more like leftover soup. Salad contained unwanted fried egg with shell still in it.

Unfortunately, the food was very bad. We ordered pizza, lasagna, and pasta. They were all the same, tasteless, and not presented in the right way. The plates were dirty. Unfortunately, the restaurant deserves no more than one star. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Best Italian pizza I've ever had here. The service was very friendly, and importantly, it wasn't expensive.

They have spaghetti just the way I like it. With garlic and chili oil. So delicious. I've eaten it in Grou for years. The service was excellent, speaking Dutch. There was also an English-speaking waitress. And it looked super cozy. I'll definitely go there for dinner with a friend. Now I picked it up for work and had a wonderfully relaxing meal.

The atmosphere, well, the decor isn't exactly cozy. The service, the English-speaking staff, forgot an appetizer, which wasn't a big deal. The pizzas and pasta carbonara arrived quickly and were simply good, tasty, and perfectly fine. This was my third time there and I've never had a bad meal. You see English-speaking staff more often in the city; forgetting something can happen.

Pizza had a rancid smell and after tasting and smelling it was undoubtedly the pork tenderloin that had gone bad. Every chef should smell/feel/see this before putting this ingredient on the pizza. We were served this on 3 out of 5 pizzas. Reported, pizzas in the trash, second chance, waiting for a new pizza without pork tenderloin, ordered another drink, and then a very disappointing pizza, not cooked, limp.. you would think that everything would be done to make it right.. unfortunately. Didn't eat the pizza, left the bottle of wine and the last sips of beer and left. Never again.

The music seemed to be the only authentic thing Italian.

The food is good but the waitress took the order completely wrong and despite the glasses being empty they didn't ask if you wanted to order anything else. It's a shame, the kitchen doesn't deserve it.

A very cozy and homely restaurant. Delicious crispy pizzas and fresh pastas. We had a delicious meal. In terms of children, it was taken into account that they were the first to get their plate... so that they could eat something with help. And then they had a great time playing in the play corner and we could also have a bite to eat. The fresh pizza is delicious, the pasta dishes are very good. The gluten-free pizza is also very good.

Very unfortunate, ordered via home delivery from Bella Roma. The pizza was cold and completely soggy from the large amount of large pieces of tomato. The menu stated that it would contain some cherry tomatoes, but they were large pieces of watery beef tomatoes. This completely ruined the pizza in combination with the fact that it was delivered cold.

As a delivery person I often came here to pick up orders, weirdos work here, very unpleasant people. When it rained or snowed you could always wait outside, which is a real problem, as the only place in Leeuwarden where that had to be done, but the way in which I always made it clear to them that I didn't like that. People here cannot speak Dutch, but they can speak English, but things often go wrong. This store always has a tendency to interfere with the delivery person about what they should do, so I always made it clear to them that I decide that myself, especially if I deliver according to the rules. Wanted to open your bag to tell you how to do it and decorate it, when I pushed his hand away and said don't touch my things, what are you doing? Then he was completely shocked and another employee always helped me when I came to pick up an order. I would never recommend this worthless shop.

Nu voor de derde keer hier geweest. 1e keer prima in orde. 2e keer niet wat we gewent waren. Derde keer we denken nog een keer proberen en ook nu weer was het eten flink onder de maat, ook aan de eigenaar aangegeven maar gaf het niet echt aandacht. Gezien de prijzen absoluut niet waar voor mijn geld. De sfeer was ook zeer ongezellig en de tent was met slechts enkele klanten gevuld. Helaas! wij komen hier niet weer.

First of all, thank you very much for fitting into our opening hours. We have eaten Italian food in many places, but this place is in the top 3. It was impressive when the lasagna sizzling in the ceramic was placed in front of us, only the taste was better than that. The carbonara was also phenomenal, we've never had a pizza with such light dough before. Based on the Google rating, we didn't want to go here at first, but luckily we still checked in and didn't regret it at all. Thank you very much for the warm hospitality and very kind service. We can only recommend it to everyone, we already know where we will eat next time. Unfortunately, we couldn't take a picture, because the food looked so good that we immediately fell for it.

In the other restaurants in the area, the kitchen closed at 9, so we started looking for where we could have dinner. We asked around 10 o'clock if there was still a kitchen, the answer was yes. In the meantime, we looked at the reviews and were a little unsure, but we were disappointed in the most positive way possible. 4 of us had dinner, pizza, carbonara and lagane. It was the most delicious pasta of my recent life, and the service was also very nice! The next time we go, there's no need to look, we'll definitely eat here! We recommend it to others! Ordered from here, pizza came all messy. The toppings all completely fell off. I ordered a pasta Bolognese for myself. It came over packed with cheese, can see the grease of the pasta floating too, below average taste. Overal wouldn’t order or eat here at all

Good food, cozy, friendly, affordable.

Unfortunately not a nice evening. The ham from the starter smelled unpleasant. The pizzas were not prepared as ordered and were tasteless. The tuna on the Al Tonno wasn't the freshest either. The only thing that was good was the service, which had to take care of both the waiters and the drinks.

Salmon pasta: salmon is dry and dirty, pasta is not exactly al dente.

Unbelievable that this restaurant can still have such good reviews! It's downright bad - without being critical. The starter (tagliere) was floating in water and lettuce and was not particularly tasty; as if the slices and pieces of cheese had come straight from the supermarket. As a main course, the meat (Bistecca Fiorentina) was raw, with the back from the kitchen black and tough. The pasta was completely over-cooked and looked more like a plate of risotto without any flavor. With grated Dutch cheese as cheese... Just like on pizza. The grilled vegetable was almost hidden under a mountain of cinnamon-like spices. The wine was tasty.. And the service was friendly. They see what we see and don't seem to think it's normal, but they get no response from the kitchen. The chef was certainly not allowed to make any concessions. Never again. Shame on Italy.

We were able to go quite late and had a delicious meal! Especially the 'Tortelinni Quattro Formaggi Speciale' but also the 'Tagliatelle with salmon' are highly recommended 👌🏻 Affordable and friendly staff.
