I am willing to write a food review, but apart from immediately offering me a drink and giving it to me, they made me wait half an hour before acknowledging my existence, and then they offered me a drink again instead of... letting me order the food? The staff even took the time to chat, so it wasn't even that busy.

Simply a TOP restaurant, nothing less, a cozy atmosphere and friendly service, food amazing!!!

The food was great...the chairs make a terrible noise when they are moved.

A very lively place. The guests were a diverse mix of ages. Many couples or groups of two (students). The pizza was very good, and so was the beer. The view is stunning and expansive.

Dishes were disappointing. Fried egg on tough, dry white bread without butter. Eggs cooked way too hard. Panini cheese cold and dry.

One of the tastiest tuna melt buns I have ever had.

Four of us went out for dinner to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately, we found the food, to put it mildly, disappointing. The waiter also took no action regarding the complaints. In fact, when settling the bill, he appropriated more tip for himself than promised. Shame on you, Fellini, we won't be coming back.

They aren't overflowing with friendliness, but they also don't try to make money off you like in central Netherlands. Very nice, warm interior layout. The toilets are clean. The hot chocolate and cappuccino tasted good.

During a city trip, we went to Fellini for lunch on the recommendation of family. It is highly recommended, as we had a delicious meal and the service was friendly and welcoming. I only have one comment: My husband likes to drink milk with his lunch, which was not a problem. However, when I saw the amount on the bill later, I was shocked.............€3.20 for a cup of milk seemed very expensive to me. Unfortunately, I didn't check this earlier and we were already on our way back.

Fellini is a nice place with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Unfortunately, no consideration is given to non-smokers on the terrace. We sat next to a few chain smokers, and the cigarette smoke constantly blew our way. It was very disruptive and really ruined our experience. Especially at a hospitality establishment like this, you would expect a better layout, for example, a smoking area outside in the open air and a smoke-free area under the canopy or awning. It is a shame, because otherwise it is a fine place. Due to the lack of attention to non-smokers, I am therefore giving 2 stars.

We waited for awhile to get service, but the wait staff was friendly and the food was delicious. We had halibut and a pesto dish with chicken. The pesto was fragrant and tasted like the basil was picked the same day.

I had ordered vegetable croquettes on brown bread, but when a waitress handed me my plate and I cut open my croquettes, it looked like they were beef croquettes (I am not vegetarian, but I was just incredibly curious about the vegetable croquettes). I then asked another waitress for confirmation, and she said that they were indeed beef croquettes. She said she could have a new one made. I declined that offer because 1. I am not vegetarian and their croquettes are actually really mega tasty, and 2. my girlfriend reminded me that otherwise they would throw them away, and I absolutely do not like that either. I did get a free coffee with it afterwards, which I found to be a very nice and tasty compensation :) (this one is from 2 years ago) Had a very nice dinner yesterday! We ordered cauliflower and rib-eye. Both were prepared super well!

slow staff and inconsistent food

We ate here as a couple. My partner's pizza was cold. They make a new one, but it doesn't arrive until I've already finished my meal. So, not very pleasant. After some insistence, we weren't charged for half the pizza (they forgot to put that on the receipt, by the way, so we had to complain again). But what irritates me most is that I didn't hear a single "sorry." It's such a small effort, to show a little empathy for the fact that it's annoying. But nothing, not even for the wrong receipt when settling the bill.

The starter was fine: carpaccio. The bread board was mediocre, and there was no herb butter either. The sliced ​​bread was soggy. For the main course, the pizzas were not really good. The pasta was very dry and a handful that most people would just shove into their hollow teeth. The service seemed uninterested; when we asked about a children's menu, no confirmation was given. The food also didn't arrive until 1.5 hours after ordering. In short, this was quite bad for all four of us and the toddler.

The atmosphere was fine, but noisy. The food was very variable. The halibut was surprisingly good, the bread platter excellent. But the carbonara was far too dry, and the side dishes (fries and salad) were very mediocre.

The prawn salad was disappointing. No dressing, 4 apple slices with the skin on, 6 avocado pieces, for 21 euros. Tip: toss the salad with dressing beforehand, then put it on the plate, peel the apple, and for 21 euros, a bit more avocado would be nice. Think of a nice dressing like lime or dill dressing. Place the salad in the center, surround the prawns, and drizzle a little more dressing over the prawns. Fine. We asked for dressing, which was forgotten, so we asked again after 10 minutes, and a small container of oil arrived. Dressing does contain oil, oil is not dressing.

What a lovely place! Very friendly staff, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. We were in Leeuwarden for a few days and went here several times. Definitely recommended for lunch, coffee, and drinks!

Beware of allergies! We specified a mushroom allergy but were given a dish with mushrooms on top, even though this ingredient wasn't listed on the menu! Fortunately, they were on top; my partner gets very sick from mushrooms. The first (intermediate) main course, the risotto with mushrooms, was also delivered too quickly, while our intermediate course (tuna sashimi) still had to arrive. We had just finished our appetizer!? Perhaps the kitchen was a bit frustrated about having to remake the risotto twice... My partner got sick during the night. It's unclear whether our dish was actually remade or whether it was reheated after the mushrooms were removed. The staff was friendly and apologized, so I assume the dish was remade. The atmosphere and food are excellent. The tuna sashimi was really good!

"Tone lower" sang: "Luckily, I've already been to the new Fellini." Well, Fellini in Leeuwarden, that was ages ago. A day in Leeuwarden, we dropped the car in the parking garage, and when we came outside, Fellini was immediately on the left. A modern, spacious, and pleasantly heated terrace, which was certainly necessary with this weather. This Saturday, the weather was absolutely awful. We quickly went inside, it was pleasantly busy, and there were plenty of tables to choose from. Tables for two, high and low for groups. The selection was enormous; a lot of tables were already reserved, but there was still room for the two of us in the pub. We had a cup of tea with a piece of nougat and an iced tea without carbonation. A clear menu, not a thousand different sandwiches and dishes. We chose the fried egg sandwich with ham and cheese on brown bread and an Italian bun with ham. We didn't have to wait long. Yes! Three eggs on thickly sliced ​​brown bread! I love it; no thin slices of tiger bread, just thick, fiber-rich slices. Generously topped with cheese that wasn't overpowering and lovely slices of ham. We don't skimp on toppings at Fellini. Does the kitchen put that much pepper on it when serving? No, I do that myself; I like it. The Italian roll was also generously topped. The fried ham hung over your plate like a schnitzel in a truck stop, just like the ham hung over the roll. What a picture. This time I took pictures. "Pics or it didn't happen," they say. Look and see the proof! It tasted delicious, not too much sauce, everything beautifully balanced. It was a bit much for her, so she took several slices of ham to the "uitsmijter" (fried ham sandwich). "Large" became even more lavish. She loves ham, so it was a treat. The staff is sharp and friendly; they see the happy faces at the tables enjoying themselves, and that gives us a boost. We were pampered. The restrooms are beautiful, and for a moment, you feel like you're at Rituals. It smells delicious, beautiful green tiles with gold accents—I love it. When I paid, I wasn't asked, "Where were you?" No, this gentleman had seen it and remembered it, which is actually really nice. You're not a number, you're a valued guest. It's just a detail in the dining experience. We went through the receipt together, and it was correct; I expected nothing less. Oh, and the price… The food plus an extra apple juice was 34 euros. Well… 34? Yep! You pay more at the burger chains. What a wonderful afternoon all in all. Fellini, it was good. I'm going to give everything a full review. Until next time.

We waited 20 minutes on the patio. We asked a staff member if we'd like to order cocktails. We waited another 5 minutes without a waitress, then new people sat next to us and were immediately helped with their orders. What a disgrace for a place like Fellini!

Fellini in Leeuwarden is a charming restaurant with delicious food and a beautiful location in the city center. Disappointed. We ordered the Fellini pizza naively thinking that it would be good because it’s named after the restaurant. We waited 1 hour for the pizza and when it arrived it was very oily and it was still raw, not cooked well enough. It was the worst pizza we’ve ever had. As you can see in the picture we tried one piece per person and it was enough to stop and leave.

I was here last week and decided to try the Burrata pizza. Unfortunately, it wasn't a success. The dough was completely soggy, and the entire pizza was covered in balsamic sauce. A little is fine, but this was way too much. The result: a soggy, sour mess that was simply inedible. And the worst part? I had to pay full price for it, even though the staff agreed with me, but the boss probably felt differently. Such a shame. I'd been coming here for years.

Not exactly convincing. Cocktails contain lots of ice and soda but little alcohol. Bruschettas are made with tomato and not salmon and guacamole. What blasphemy.

These days, many places offer average food at high prices; but yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised by the entire Fellini team. The starter, main course, and dessert were all excellent, and the service was super friendly. The atmosphere was great. In short: we had a very enjoyable and delicious evening. Lovely, inviting terrace. We ordered soup and a sandwich. The sandwich was fine, but the soup was so salty it was inedible. The waiter promised us more soup, but it didn't arrive, and nothing more was said about it. We left. We didn't hear any apologies or any offer of compensation. Such a shame; we won't be back.

Myself had spinach tortellini (veg, see photo) - was tasty and fresh, served quickly. Others had different pastas (with shrimps/ chicken), soup and focaccia and some cocktails - also really liked it. The interior was nice. The place is conveniently located in the centre.

We thought we would have a nice time at Fellini during the street festival. We had to pay 11 euros and would pay with 50 euros in cash. But this was not possible, we could only pay with the pin and we didn't have that with us. What kind of ridiculous fuss is this, there was no discussion possible and we had to change the 50 euros somewhere and pay the 11 euros in cash. Worthless!!! So we will never come here again😡😡

Always delicious, always stylish, always enjoyable. I definitely take my guests there and I have never been embarrassed. It appeals to your stomach, your eyes and your soul with its menu that changes from time to time and always has delicious plates and unique presentations and satisfying portions. It always gets full marks from us. In hot weather, finding a table outside is a matter of luck because they don't take reservations outside. But I recommend reservations for inside as well. Especially on weekends and for dinner. There is a paid parking lot right next to it that you can exit.

Walked in through their beautiful terrace. I had to speak to the staff because no one came to us. Indicated that we had made a reservation and we were allowed to sit on the terrace or inside. We opted for inside and the staff quickly came to us with the menu. Then ordered drinks and shortly afterwards the starters and main courses. Some of the servers were attentive and saw us and some were very focused on the terrace. We thought the bread board was fine beforehand, but the focaccia was firm and too hard in structure. We are used to something different. Main course the tournedos and I give this a measly 5. Not very well roasted (too soft fire) which resulted in a soft exterior. Also a strong sesame flavor in their dark tasteless gravy which I really didn't like. Make it simple with, for example, mushroom sauce or herb butter and it would have been a lot more pleasant. Furthermore, I found the tournedos to have little taste and the garnish that came with them was quite boring. Overall it wasn't our thing and we'll keep it to 1 time.

Felini cheese steak with cheddar sauce/gravy. Great! Staff is very attentive! Only they can't make reservations during lunch even though my mother has COPD. She can't walk far. So a little certainty is desirable. Very unfortunate. A bit sad.

Food is just fine, simple but pricey. Panini with very thin layer of tuna n pesto, panini caprese again with very little filling, the panini both very hard to bite, Pasta bolognese vegetarian that almost cannot taste the ragout, Over fried of sweet potato fries resulting bitter taste, Chicken karage still not well cook inside. Staff was ok but i have the feeling they have an attitude of dismissal as soon as they see you finishing your meal n drinks. They kept coming to the table to ask if you want to order more drinks etc... I mean i do understand that they need to generates income as much as possible with the limited seat they have, but it seems like they dont let us take a break. My daughter 10yrs was taking out a bag of popcorn, the waitress saw it and directly said that its not allowed to eat any food from outside the cafe. So i was a bit pissed off since it was only small bag of pocorn for kid. And clearly they dont sell popcorn. Im wondering if they gonna say the same for baby food.

Very busy on Saturday. Reasonably prices for coffee. Friendly service. The lady was very friendly and helped us find our parking ticket. I sometimes see drinks boards with a lot of goodies that I will definitely try again 😉

It is not possible to pay in cash and this is not communicated properly on the website anyway. On the door there is a sticker with only cards in English. Unsuspectingly, I wanted to pay in cash, but no discussion was possible, so I ended up paying by card. Cash payment is legal tender. Would that discussion have also taken place if the ATM malfunctioned? Or can you pay in cash? No more visits for me for this reason.

Update Jan 3, 2025 New visit to this busy restaurant! Had a great meal again. Burata was a surprising introduction. I would serve it less cold 🥶 ❄️. Roasted pieces of cabati taste perfect with it. 🥖 The pasta with tenderloin or salmon are tasty and quite generous. A little salad/raw food would be nice🥗. The rum steak🥩 was super overcooked and fell apart. Delicious 😋 This dish was also more than sufficient. Together with fries and salad 🥗 a bit too much... Compliments for the very wide choice of non-alcoholic drinks 👍🏼 Eating out is not cheap and Fellini is no exception. It wasn't any less PRESSURE. Service neat and fairly smooth. Nov 2024 We had a delicious meal at Fellini😋 Service (young) was friendly and quick 💁🏼 We first had some drinks and then ate a plate of pasta! 🍝🍴. Unfortunately you will not receive an attachment.
