We had a delicious meal, good wine recommendations, and a lovely atmosphere. Beautiful decor, authentic atmosphere, and great music. We'll be back soon.

The food was fantastic! We really enjoyed it. The best cheesecake I've ever had, and the service was very friendly and experienced. The decor is beautiful and the location is great for a new restaurant. Some dishes are very innovative in their preparation, but there's also a simple pasta option!

Great stylish place where we chose to celebrate a birthday with a quiet dinner just for two. The food was based on simple components, yet beautifully combined and prepared, making it truly enjoyable. The tartar and fries were perfect, while the pasta felt more like a snack than a main course. The non-alcoholic wine/tea/kombucha selection was also a highlight – refreshing, creative, and a great match with the dishes. 🍷✨

What a lovely restaurant! The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the food was truly excellent. We had the beetroot, tartare, burrata, and côte de boeuf—everything was delicious. Absolutely recommended!

Great kitchen, delicious food, but small portions and expensive water. Service is slow. Design is very beautiful. I loved to see unique dishes in the menu, but I wish there were more vegetarian options. I liked the place but it’s a shame to charge for water in Amsterdam!!!

In my opinion, it was far too expensive for what you get. I had a plate of pasta with just a little tomato sauce and a mountain of Parmesan cheese on it—a very mediocre home cook could have made the same. Nothing extra, not a speck of green in sight. My table companions had a €30 fish dish, and I was shocked by the tiny plate they received for that price—absolutely outrageous. No tap water, only mandatory bottled water, and I got a can of beer worth €7. If you want to charge those prices, you really have to deliver quality. The service was friendly and efficient, but you won't see me back here anytime soon.

The staff were friendly and attentive. We were told they had a new menu that day, but the mussels on it weren't available. That was a real shame, as several of us had been looking forward to them. We ordered olives and bread beforehand, which came with some butter. We asked for olive oil with the bread, but it wasn't available. Personally, I found the olives had a very unpleasant and strange aftertaste. Was there something in the oil? The bread was tasty, but very little and way too expensive. The main courses arrived. I had vegetarian yellow beetroot, a minimal portion, and nothing special in terms of flavor. The fries looked good but also had a very unpleasant aftertaste! What are they fried in? Animal fat or oil? I thought it was so disgusting! We were looking forward to desserts; we had already seen chocolate mousse and cheesecake on the menu. Unfortunately... that wasn't there either, so you have four desserts on the menu, two of which you can't order :( When you have a new menu, you make sure everything is available. There was tiramisu, though, and it was delicious! Luckily, it was a good ending. But Bennies is definitely not something we'll be repeating.

Stylish spot with great vibes - Amsterdam in a nutshell! We shared a spread of dishes: the schnitzel with orange and caper butter was crisp and flavorful, the mussels were fresh with a nice herb kick, and the pastas came generously topped with parmesan. The steak was tender and cooked just right. The industrial chic design and the vibes are 💯 Overall recommend!!

Food was great, both the tuna carpaccio and the beef tartare were interesting. I didn’t really get a bill apart from being told what I need to pay and that’s it.

A quite disappointing experience. €6 for a single slice of bread felt excessive, and the shrimp toast unfortunately made us feel sick, we hope the kitchen looks into that. The service came off as disengaged and unapproachable, even with simple requests like a napkin or asking to try some wines. As fellow Horeca professionals, we understand how tough it is to work long hours and keep the energy high, but the atmosphere made us feel more like a burden than guests.

A very charming place with unfortunately terrible food. Sadly, the dinner was a complete disappointment. We ordered a variety of starters and main courses for four people, but everything was overly greasy, oily, overcooked or even burnt . Later that night, both my friend and I felt unwell after having the shrimp toasts. The starter "bread with butter" came out as a single chunk of bread for everyone to share… The waiter was friendly, but accidentally spilled wine on the table and casually brushed it onto the floor with his hand… It was my friend’s birthday, but there was no acknowledgment or kind gesture — not even a simple “happy birthday,” which was a bit disappointing. It’s a shame that such a beautiful venue left us with such an unpleasant experience. I truly hope the kitchen improves, because the place itself has great potential.

Delicious food, nice sitting on the terrace

Op een niet voor de hand liggende plek in Amsterdam West - industrieterrein - huist Bennies in wat een soort loods was. Met minimale middelen van hoge kwaliteit en design hebben ze daar iets bijzonders van gemaakt. En het eten? ja, je kunt uit een menu kiezen, maar laat de koks liever de vrije hand. Je zult niet teleurgesteld worden: gewaagde combinaties maar nét niet te gek gemaakt van prachtige producten. Mooie wijnen, goede bediening. Alles is met zorg omgeven Schappelijke prijzen. Mensen, ga het avontuur aan, durf ik te adviseren. Ruime parkeermogelijkheden, als het mee zit vóór de deur.

The dishes were different and tasty, but I think it's overpriced and you can get similar style cuisine for a better price in Amsterdam. €6 for one single piece of bread is way too much.

Lovely food and excellent service, really welcoming and providing

Fun-dining avant la lettre. Saskia and Pablo gave us the feeling they had all the time in the world despite the business. Big flavours. Recommend for a casual dining experience which won't disappoint with that air that everything is possible!

Really disappointing, a meager menu, which when they gave us they forgot to tell us that not everything was available, and that the wine list was being redone... ridiculous portions at absurd prices, a single slice of bread for €6 absurd, we left hungry, we will never return, place launched by paying influencers, best wishes...

A bit too expensive for me... 2 asparagus on a bed of potato cream for 24 euros. Maybe I should have taken the menu... Quality was fine, as was the service.

The atmosphere is very alternative, lots of well-dressed people. I was very well received in the restaurant, always they were very attentive and cordial. You have the option of ordering 3 or 4 menus or individual dishes. We opted for the individual dishes and it worked out very well for two people. We ordered a red shrimp tartare (just the right amount!), a salad (I liked the presentation and loved the taste) and the pork (it was delicious!). To drink, I don't recommend the drinks as they are already prepared, my boyfriend ordered a paloma; I had a Kumbucha beer, for those who like sour, it's perfect, I loved that beer.

What a great evening at Bennies in Amsterdam! We had dinner here with a group of friends and everything was taken care of down to the last detail. The service was incredibly friendly, attentive and made us feel really welcome. The wines were delicious. And then the food: surprising, tasty and very well prepared. Every dish had something special, the grilled white asparagus was fantastic! An absolute must - we will definitely be back!

Bennies is one of the most wonderful places to discover in Amsterdam. They haven't been open for long but wow this place. It has good vibes, good wines and really tasty food. My husband was extremely surprised of finding this gem! especially because this area seems a bit out of the blue to eat in AMS. I loved the burrata with squid and the shrimp with Tahini. Also the asparragus. Service was good and the place and atmosphere wonderful. Will come back for more.

Food was delicious and tasteful flavors! On the other side, service was really under par: long waiting times, inattentive & non interested waiters.

Excellent 3 course meal. Good and sufficient service. Coffee was strangely not tasty. Maybe a different bean which made the coffee taste a bit sour. The acoustics were far from optimal. Now the restaurant was full. This produced so much noise that it was difficult to have a conversation among each other. Too bad because I would come back for the food

Great night out with friends. The new menu is delish, there is a new chef and you can really tell! Simple but surprising flavours and elaborations, very well executed. A great selection of wines. A nice surprise was Jamon from Spain: un 10. Reasonable prices and friendly staff.

Lovely place. Noticeable that they have become a bit busier lately. That sometimes creates somewhat chaotic scenes. Nevertheless, still delicious food.

Todos los platos estaban bellamente presentados y llenos de sabor, claramente hechos con mucho cuidado e ingredientes de primera calidad. A truly memorable dinner experience in Amsterdam. I went with two friends for a night out and we were all blown away. With chef Arvid Schmidt now in the kitchen, the menu feels fresh, inventive, and full of personality. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented—the quality of the food is outstanding. Highlights for us were the burrata with squid and pumpkin seeds, the kimchi spring rolls, the gamba roja tartare, the carne Apache, the strawberry rhubarb yogurt ice cream, and the white asparagus. The wine selection is also excellent and thoughtfully paired. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between vibrant and relaxed, and the staff were warm, helpful, and attentive. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just in the mood for drinks and bites, this place is a true gem. Highly recommended! Bonus: it has a great terrace for sunny afternoons and nights.

Food ans drinks were overpriced!Bread and water were charged for each person 3.50, ridiculus! The lamp was undercoocked, the salad on the side was random tastless leaves. The place and the vibe was great but not enough.

A journey of discovery of taste

The food is great although most dishes are average and overpriced. Desserts stand out the most, especially the cheesecake. The place has a cool vibe and decor but most of the chairs and tables are very uncomfortable. The service was really the biggest disappointment for us. Extremely slow and inconsistent and not attentive at all. For this price, more was expected. We also were celebrating a 30th birthday but this was ignored and we ended up also getting bar stools seats at the entrance which was very sad.. I have been twice (for brunch and dinner) and won’t be returning or recommending after the two experiences that left us feeling very disappointed. Such a shame!

When Dutch restaurant want to act like French bistronomique restaurant - don’t waste your money there. Poor service, long waiting time, overpriced. I recommend the staff to have an internship in Paris

Bennies was highly recommended by local food guides, so we arrived with genuine enthusiasm. The place looked inviting with a pleasant atmosphere. We were greeted by a waiter who seemed to be having a quieter day than our excited selves. It took about 10 minutes to receive the drinks menu, which came with Dutch communication despite our English introduction. Twenty minutes later, our server returned for drink orders – still in Dutch. We requested a food menu, which arrived after another 20-minute wait. While the tables that came after us were already served with the snacks. A full 50 minutes after arrival, we finally placed our food order. The mussels had an unusual flavor profile that wasn't quite to our taste, and the tartar carried a slight bitterness. The fries and bread were perfectly fine though, and the cheesecake was delicious. At almost 20 euros for a modest portion of mussels, the value didn't quite align with our expectations. The open kitchen concept, while trendy, creates an interesting mix of cooking aromas and cleaning products that might benefit from improved ventilation. The place clearly has potential and some stellar offerings like that cheesecake, but our particular visit had a few timing and communication hiccups.

I really can’t say enough nice things about Bennies. I celebrated my birthday there and everything was exceptional. From the communication with the staff, the venue itself, the wine, the food and impeccable vibes. I can’t recommend Bennies enough for value, service and really incredible food. Loved it. Can’t wait to go back!

Nice place for a nice evening of good food. Restaurants are springing up like mushrooms in the middle of an industrial estate. I already counted 3 on the list with Bennies. The exterior looks unattractive due to 1960s construction, but that sadness is also part of the experience. Inside it is light and modern. Parking is problem-free, but even here you still have to pay more than 5 euros per hour. Fortunately I paid until 7 am so I didn't have to worry about that for long. The food is certainly very tasty. Beautifully presented with surprising flavor combinations. It is all very pricey. Without ordering too lavishly, we paid over 70 euros per person. That's one of the reasons why I don't eat out that often anymore. It has become far too expensive. Amsterdam in particular.

We were really excited to try Bennies but unfortunately it didn’t meet expectations. The decor and vibe of the restaurant are great. Sadly this is where it ended for us. Most dishes were flat and expensive for what they were. The service was also struggling and we were left multiple times in the night waiting (as an example, we waited almost an hour between the first set of dishes and the second). I don’t know if something was wrong this night, but the staff seemed visibly frustrated and struggling to keep up. I hope this was a one-off as I really wanted this place to be good, but I struggle right now to recommend this restaurant for the food, service, or price/quality.

After a fantastic first experience at Bennies, I visited the place again yesterday. To my great surprise, the entire brunch menu had been deleted, and you could only order à la carte (without explanation). The menu is limited and less suitable for brunch. We ordered the mussels (€18), which were quite okay in combination with crispy leek. The rest was nothing special, and above all very pricey: - 6 euros for a juice - 6 euros for 2 slices of bread - 10 euros for Brussels sprouts on a skewer Finally, the service seemed very grumpy to us. I left feeling disappointed and will never return.

The staff was extremely kind and welcoming. The place is beautiful, well designed with nice pieces of forniture. The food is Amsterdam standard: pricy, pretentious, mediocre quality.

Very nice place with a great vibe and helpful staff. The food was amazing and prices were reasonable. The location was a bit far away from Amsterdam and there is no public transport that goes there, so you must consider using Uber or your own car.

We visited around a month ago to celebrate our 11 year anniversary. What a gem. Beautifully designed venue, great menu and lovely staff. We very much enjoyed the experience and will be back!

Honestly a complete 10/10. The food is incredible: the flavours, the presentation and the mixture of choices. The burrata was wow, the steak was delicious and the prawn toast was the best I’ve had. Great choice of drinks from wine to cocktails. Beautiful space too, decorated perfectly and very stylish. But the best thing (on par with the chefs cooking) was the service. We had a lovely woman seat us and talk through the menu but we have to give thanks to our waiter Arjen. He made our night with his recommendations, chat and vibe. He’s an asset to the team and we can’t wait to return for the food but honestly for his service too! Can’t thank him enough. We’re on a trip for a few days and so happy we found this place, it’s going to be a staple visit every time we come back.

The basque cheesecake was delicious! We had the ravioli and the steak tartar, and they were good too. The portions are rather small, so I recommend getting some fries or bread with it so it will be enough.

Starters were tasty, even normal portions instead of the usual Amsterdam mini snacks. However, the entrecot was really not good, served cold/lukewarm, with a thick edge of fat and not tender. The service was understaffed and they had to beckon each time to order something. It's a shame because the location is beautiful and, as mentioned, the starters were tasty.

Since our favourite safe goto restaurant closed “Public Space” we have been looking to a replacement , maybe we have found it. We visited Bennie’s , in the south west of Amsterdam area of Schinkeldistrict recently opened earlier this year . Industrial area close to Olympic stadium nice ride , almost the last days of summer and we sat in the terrace, industrial conversion inside but tasteful . Chef goes for simple but good food, which it was. We had the lunch menu roasted beetroot😋, pâté en croûte with a little gem. Super delicious. For mains we took the ravioli and fried chicken very very good - cooked perfectly and very , very tasty. Dessert was the cheese cake - really wow, very well done, not sweet. We will be back for dinner. 😀

A very tasty collection of food items. Though it was slightly disappointing as half of the items in the menu were not available the day we went for food but still whatever we ordered was tasty .

Very nice new initiative in the Schinkel. Hip basic but tasteful. A somewhat difficult wine list, but after my first visit last week I know that the Chenin is delicious. We were 4 and shared some starters; the ladies then each had a ravioli and the men shared the sirloin steak (which according to them was not 500 grams by the way😜) Tasty dishes all with some surprising ingredients... and the cheesecake is delicious. Thirza helped us all evening and that was very enjoyable. We sat at a small table in the back corner but she made up for it.

Had a great evening at Bennies last night with two friends. We shared the tuna, shrimp toast and mini frikandels as a starter and the sirloin steak with fries as a main course. All delicious, highly recommended. Make sure you leave enough room for the cheesecake, you don't want to miss it either :)

Very good service, good atmosphere and delicious food! Nice tent too. 10 minutes drive from Schiphol. After a long flight we had a delicious lunch here. We kept ordering because it was so tasty. We will definitely come back here more often!

Nice restaurant, good atmosphere. However, it is very noisy because little attention has been paid to the acoustics. The food was nothing special: standard products and flavor combinations, very saucey and simply on the boring side. Within this style of restaurants there are many better options in Amsterdam.

Just had dinner here and it was great! Good atmosphere, comfortable and spacious seating. Food was really nice! Staff was great and Saskia gave us some awesome wine recco’s. What else do you need? We’ll be back!

Beautiful space, but unfortunately our lunch was very underwhelming. I don’t think places should get away by just having a great interior design and serving okay-ish food

Maybe we hit the restaurant on the wrong night, but the service was downright bad. It took half an hour for drinks to be taken, we only had food after an hour and a half (it was now half past nine), and the waiters literally ran away every time before they had taken the entire order, so we had to wave them back a few times . There was no acknowledgment that the service was less because it was busy or something like that. The food was tasty, but the portions are extremely small. This makes the restaurant very expensive, which would be fine if the service was good. I cannot recommend Bennies. Maybe in a few months when they have (hopefully) improved the service.

will start with the positives, the cocktails and wine list were pretty good, the starter prawn toast was delicious! The rest of the food was kind of mid. The biggest negative would be the entrecôte. It was €55 for 500g, but probably 300g of the steak was all fat. I wouldn’t have minded so much if the steak was €30, but for €55 I expect much better. I felt like the steak would’ve cost around €9 if I bought it in AH or at a butcher. I felt like the service was ok, they weren’t so attentive and seemed like they were giving better service to Dutch speaking guests, which is quite normal for these hyped restaurants in Amsterdam so I don’t know why I expected any different. I met with some friends after and they asked me whether they should go, I said maybe but just don’t order the steak.

Great and amazing food, nice place, but the service—really. If you want to be similar to a tourist trap in the city center, you're going in the right direction. You’re spending around 250 euros, and no one really cares about your needs. Waiting time for the first glass of wine? More than 15 minutes, easily. Dirty tables after the first course? We don’t care that you’ll have to keep your hands in cheese. ETC. Overall experience is 3 out of 5, but just don’t want to spoil the rating of a nice place right from the start. Good luck!

Overall the food was tasty and the atmosphere good. The interior design was great, which made sitting inside more cozy than outside. As for the food, we were sorry that it was served lukewarm, although the taste was very good. Some portions were on the small side, so we ordered extra bread. The bread and home-made butter were delicious and served warm. The wine selection was also extensive. The service was very friendly.

All the food was exceptionally good and also special in taste. Furthermore, the employees were very attentive and active and the atmosphere was good. I really had a perfect evening and therefore no areas for improvement! 💖

Ate here on Friday and it was delicious. We started with a sandwich and olives, and this bread was excellent with lemon butter so we ordered 2 of these. After this we ordered the burrata and tuna. The tuna wasn't amazing, but it was just good. The burrata, on the other hand, was phenomenal and a tip is to order a sandwich so you can dip it in the sauce. We then ordered the sea bass and the chicken, both of which were definitely an 8, with a cheesecake for dessert, which I would also recommend. Furthermore, a very beautiful interior design and an overall pleasant experience here!

Ate at Bennies last Tuesday, it was really delicious, original dishes and very tasty. Nice atmosphere and top service, highly recommended and I will definitely go back.

Ended up here after a walk. Coffee 10/10 (from the roastery next door), lunch also great. Friendly and chill service, also nice to see such a young team. We will definitely come back if we get lost again.

Had a nice meal at Bennies. Excellent service and a beautiful open kitchen. Menu is diverse and a shared dinning concept. Various dishes were shared with each other, including the tuna carpaccio and the fried chicken. Both highly recommended. It is a bit remote on an industrial estate, but there is free parking in front of the door.

Beautiful place. Loved the furniture and the light. Great wines too. The food has so much potential but for now it didn't quite cut it. + butter: whipped, lemony, delicious - baguette: nice but not a baguette, more like a boule + tuna carpaccio: rich, zesty, delicious - seabass tostadas with dill: not 2 but 1, no visible dill but chives (some dill in the mayo), not much flavor to the seabass, very overpriced - fried chicken: 2 well-cooked chunks, but the taste of the tarragon butter and lavender honey wasn't strong enough, and we didn't get any artichokes, very overpriced - bbq veggies: green asparagus, nice and crunchy, but barely charred, bbq flavor a bit artificial + fries: great, with lovely slightly sour mayonnaise Also there was not enough water in the teapots for the tea to give off its flavor, as half of the leaves didn't touch the water at all. We wanted to order the 'frikandel' but didn't when we were told it's not homemade, but frozen.

They have a small menu. There's nothing wrong with that. But the first thing we heard was that 4 dishes were missing. Then it makes the choice very small. As for the service. You noticed that there were 2 tables inside where influencers were sitting. The service paid a lot of attention to these tables. We ordered 2 starters of which only 1 was delivered. It was delicious. Then came the main course, which was also delicious. But the service never once checked whether everything was to your liking. Such a pity. Since that happened several times at the other 2 tables. So we didn't feel like a guest at all. It was really order eat and pay.

Walked around looking for a place for lunch. Stumbled upon this gem. Loved the interior at first sight and the brightness from the skylight it just feels so inviting when you walk in. The server was still setting up but was very nice to welcome us, seat us and let us order. She was very informative describing the menu items. I ordered the fried chicken. Presentation was as beautiful as the interior and it tasted delicious as well. Our server was super friendly. I would come back again for sure.

I had a cheesecake and a glass of wine :) I definitely will come for a feast! The staff is very attentive!
