In the morning there is very little choice, only a few sandwiches and some yogurt with fruit are available... but it is way, way too expensive. I didn't eat there, but judging by how the food looks, it's not worth the money. I did have coffee, which was also ridiculously expensive and not hot... it is scandalous, in a hospital. People who are here in the hospital can't just go somewhere else right away, so they just charge ridiculously high prices; truly scandalous.

Limited choice.... understaffed and scorching hot on the warmer days.

Saw they had Strawberry Matcha... I ordered it from the nice barista but had to pass it on to the woman standing by the kitchen. She was incredibly grumpy; she couldn't manage a smile. The matcha came straight from the fridge and looked really bad, a very weird shade of green. So, I put a spoonful of strawberry jam with that weird-colored matcha into the glass, then grabbed ice cubes from the freezer without gloves on and just put them in the glass. Normally the ice cubes sit at the bottom of the glass, but not with this one. I didn't know what I was seeing! You would think that hygiene is good in a hospital, but no. Eventually I got my glass; normally when you stir you get that green color... unfortunately, this one stayed white. I went back to the nice barista and said that this wasn't matcha, after which I was allowed to choose another drink. I have truly never experienced anything like this with a drink before.

In itself a nice establishment with sufficient seating. It is too expensive for a hospital restaurant. The selection could be larger and the quality better. It could be much better with more attention to customers on a tight budget.

We had to pay €7.50 for one coffee and one decaf cappuccino. The decaf was so weak it was just like tea. The prices are far too high for a hospital restaurant.

Food is incredibly expensive, outrageous. There are no outlets anywhere, and you have to pay to charge your phone. They're taking advantage of sick people who drive from far away and want something to eat or drink. Slow service. The chairs are sagging and dirty, need replacing. The only positive is the round window.

Dirty mess and way too expensive

I've been to Ad Mosam at Maastricht UMC+ several times now, so this unfortunately isn't a snapshot. The coffee is often lukewarm, while for the price, you'd expect a nice, hot cup. The final straw for me: a €4 sausage roll that was simply unbearable. It was completely squashed, as if someone had sat on it, and also dry and not at all fresh. For that price, you really should expect better quality. It's a shame, because in a place where many people just want to relax or recharge, a decent coffee and a fresh roll should be the basics. With a little more attention to temperature and freshness, this could really improve.

Delicious food with excellent service and sweet, hardworking staff! My father enjoyed delicious hot soup with his favorite ham and cheese croissants every day during the final stages of his life, along with tasty hot dishes like sauerkraut and chicken pies. We had the best time with Dad in his final days at this fantastic restaurant! We went there every day for breakfast, lunch, or dinner for three weeks, and even received a discount because we went so often. There was also a fun play area for my kids. A huge thank you to all the wonderful staff; we'll never forget this time!

It's slowly getting dirtier here. I've been coming here for 20 years. It used to be beautiful, but without maintenance, furniture replacement, and cleaning, this restaurant is becoming an unsanitary mess. And that for a hospital... Sick people, students, visitors, and staff come here. Shame on you...

Had dinner on Sunday, August 31, 2025. One vegetable soup, one dish of fries with sour meat and mayo, and one dish of chicken pie with fries and mayo. I thought the food was fine with standard prices. Soup €4.50, dishes €14.05. Service was quick, but it was quiet around 5 p.m.

In a hospital, you'd expect food to be handled with the utmost care and hygiene. Unfortunately, we found a hair on the pastry.

Firstly, the food is super expensive. Secondly, the food is inedible. Thirdly, the cappuccino comes in a glass that's supposed to be an espresso and tastes absolutely awful! People, bring your own food and drinks. And you'll save yourself the debt restructuring.

Must say food is good, sometimes long queues at the cash register and prices €€€ on the high side.

There's little choice, and even a simple dish from the kettle takes forever. A fried egg sandwich is too much to handle and can't be prepared. Chicken pie and pickled meat are delicious, though.

Today we got the cappuccino in small cups. "Yes," the employee said, "we now put the coffee in the large cups and the cappuccino in the small ones." Huh? The price was unchanged: €3.65. Strange, but true. Taste: watery; you can't taste the coffee at all.

For a hospital restaurant where people don't actually come voluntarily, it's incredibly expensive. Not a good value for money. Way too expensive. Just calculate: one frikandel and one croquette together for (don't be alarmed) 8 euros, and even without a bun. It's a hospital, not a festival!

It's scandalous what's happening here, the prices are way too expensive, the sandwiches are so hard that they look like they were yesterday.

It's ridiculous that the restaurant is so expensive. Most of them have low incomes. Patients are being taken advantage of. If a croquette costs €3.50, I've already eaten and drunk. It's under a warming plate. And no. Don't add a sandwich, because that'll add a euro. That shouldn't be acceptable in a hospital.

Worthless. Limited offer. If you arrive at 3:00 PM, everything is gone except a meager prison soup. Staff is mainly busy with other things than helping people. A line of 10 people at the one cash register that is open, while there are about 7 people walking around. A bit of cleaning or cheerful chatting in the kitchen. Rarely seen so bad, even for a hospital.

Small parking lot. Truckers are parking everywhere. Toilets are medium clean(bring your own toilet paper. Douane police lurking around.

Delicious sandwiches, pie, etc. Freshly ground coffee, that just takes too much time at the cash register, which sometimes results in a long queue, making sausage rolls cold. That could really be better organized! Nice seats and view.

Bad and expensive sandwich. "Healthy" sandwich. Barely anything on it and also dressing on the lettuce that was on the sandwich. Ruined the entire taste of the sandwich as far as it could be ruined!

Upon entering, an employee was sitting on the counter, when we asked for a bouncer we were told that this was only possible until 4 p.m. Other dishes weren't really special either, it was fries and a patty. Drinking became even more difficult, fresh orange juice was not possible, the machine was already turned off... only sugar-free soft drinks, due to... the health. In short, a great place. Stay away from here

Come every 2 months Oncology and we always go for something to eat, delicious, but this afternoon we had pasta 12.00 euros per person was so little that I gave half to my husband this was on April 22, 2024

Price/quality has never been so bad, I have never experienced it. If you ask for the top price, you also have to deliver quality and I think that is simply substandard.

Excellent food and drinks. Good and friendly service. Atmosphere is good, but it is a hospital, so it is visited by medical staff, visitors and patients, who may have suffered from illnesses and sometimes heard less pleasant things. It is sometimes expensive.

Despite the crowds and the presence of sufficient staff, only 1 cash register was open. The coffee preparation at the cash register ensures a slow flow. Prices are on the high side for a visitor restaurant. The opening hours are not the same as the visiting hours of the nursing departments. Annoying when you are visiting a patient and want to have a cup of coffee together.

Even more expensive and worse than it ever was. Sausage roll is too difficult for them. It's that you can't do anything else here.

Been coming here for years after a medical appointment but also just pop in, especially for the "sour meat, chicken ragout" pieces of pie, the coffee and it is always clean and tidy, little noise, top top top

What a bad visitor restaurant. If you want to order a vegetarian hamburger (it was on the menu), the chef's answer is: but I don't know what it tastes like. After asking 3 times to order that and 3 times being told I don't know how they taste, we gave up. Don't put it on the menu if you don't prepare it afterwards. Other offerings of sandwiches, etc., were nil in the middle of the day. If you are used to the restaurant of Laurentius hospital in Roermond, this restaurant is very bad. Take that as an example.

Tasty salads, coffee and smoothies

I only ordered an apple turnover with a café latte, my partner only an ice tea green. There were also a few pieces of custard, but they no longer looked so fresh.

Fairly busy and stuffy. And if you think you're going to score a frikadel, that's not allowed anymore, it's unhealthy. But fries, croquettes, sausage rolls and then the prices... crazy freaking expensive. A fairly small fries of sour meat for €11, a salad for €8... come on, and then you can see the LGTBQQ+ flag flying outside... 😒 Food was tasty, atmosphere wasn't really anything special and the prices are all around ridiculous! And that flag... why?! 🤬

No choice. Limited range and nothing for a nice hot snack that you can crave at exciting moments. Cheese sandwich too dry for words and almost impossible to chew. I know they want to act healthy, but just having brown balls is a bit over the top. Everything had to be fresh according to the label, but also the wraps were dry and wilted. No, when my husband is admitted later, I will not eat there.

Expensive really expensive for the common people

A real mockery. Where visitor hours are until 8:00 PM, the restaurant closes at 6:00 PM. So having a cup of coffee with a patient who often needs it so much is unfortunately no longer an option. My wife was in the hospital for 4 weeks, so we wanted to have dinner together, but at 5 p.m. you hear: unfortunately, we can only give you fries and croquettes..... bizarrely expensive, 4.50 for a bottle of coke, very slow service... if I were mumc I would tender again, there is so much more in it!!!! (For example, a restaurant at a hospital in Roermond that is perfect 👍🏻)

How bad it is to stay here, heating stone cold, coffee 3 euros per cup, sandwiches from the cheapest supermarket, with a slice of cheese or ham, I don't know where this comes from and at a great price. Just stay away from here, just bring it from home!

Company canteen but more expensive. Although healthier options are offered, the emphasis is on the old, familiar (and unhealthy). Now you don't WANT to come here too often. It's fine for what it is: a restaurant in a hospital.

It was very busy and everything was gone, so you had to order if you needed anything

If you haven't been there in a long time, it's a disappointment now. At least if you "just" want to eat a baguette. Dry stuff and tasteless toppings. My neighbor had a hot meal with fries and it looked tasty. By the way, the latte was excellent, as was the friendly service.

We had to go to the hospital for a check-up. My sister-in-law has undergone a very serious operation. She wanted to eat and drink something in the restaurant. If you have to pay 3.50 for a small bottle of still water for the return journey, then all sense is lost. People this is way out of proportion! And that for a hospital restaurant.

Very large canteen (restaurant) food was reasonable. Price too. Sat by the window which was nice.

Today was my first time in the UMC for myself. Together with the neighbor for support. First create a pass, then find out which department I needed to go to. Kindness was hard to find. I was too early, so I had a cup of tea in the restaurant. Well what a relief, the lady behind the cash register was the ray of sunshine of the day. So sweet and friendly with a smile on her face. Well that makes me feel better. I told her that too. Had something to eat after the appointments. The lady immediately asked how it went. Unfortunately I forgot her name, long blond/grey hair accent. Hats off to this lady. You rarely come across such people with their hearts in the right place. Dear lady, I would like to thank you very much for your rays of sunshine this day.
