Horrible experience. I ordered fries with "oorlog" (a type of fries), and the man at the counter didn't even know what it was. He said he'd never ordered one. I got a kilo of mayo, ketchup, and a large red onion on the fries. The burger was also a disappointment. Everything was raw and inedible. What also struck me is that you can't order the burger and fries separately. You HAVE to choose a menu, and you're immediately charged €16 for that awful food. Never again.

Ordered food: fries and croquettes. The croquettes arrived cold, crushed, and squashed in a bag. The fries, which were supposed to be French fries, were soggy, thick, and not thoroughly fried, floury. We called and asked for a refund. We'll never order from here again!

Friends of De Beren. I'm a loyal customer and have been ordering from you for at least one to two years. However, I'm not very happy with how this one went, and with the previous order from last month. I don't normally write reviews, but I really miss how it used to be. I feel like there's been a drastic cutback on quality. Hopefully, this will be a wake-up call that it's just not quite right. (I called the delivery service, and they told me it's different than before and that they'll have to make do.) I always order fries and burgers. This review is about that. CHANGES: - Both artisan and French fries are different and of lower quality. The pictures on the website show different fries. (This is an opinion, of course.) I've tried both, and the new one isn't quite right. The mayonnaise is also different. It's similar to Zaanse, but not quite. - The burgers are different, and the bread is different. The previous bread was nice and firm and kept the burger whole. Now the bread is twice as big and very soft. Not in proportion to what's in the middle of the bread. It also tastes completely different, and I don't like it. I miss the old ones. - Cheesebites (Triangles). The last two times I've received different kinds. After calling, the first time they said they were out. I then received a frikandel as a replacement. Now they've received the wrong one again (not tasty), and I've received new ones that are also incorrect (it was manageable, and I felt bad calling again and having the delivery driver come again). - Previously, it was delivered in boxes and good quality bags. Now it comes in bags with pockets with potatoes sticking out and lying loose inside. The burger doesn't fit in the box it's delivered. WEBSITE: - Ordering through the website is easy. However, the pictures don't match what you receive. (Different patties and breads for burgers) SERVICE: Easy to reach. If something is out of stock, please call the customer, as before. We leave our phone number with our order for this. If something isn't right, they'll deliver the right one right away! (Just not today). They're also friendly. Oh yeah! This time we also had spare ribs, which were very good, but a hair was found in the packaging. Not very tasty. Otherwise, good quality, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. All this for the same price isn't worth it in my opinion. I also haven't received any notification of any changes. And this is what I can get. Because I have an account. I think this is the last time for me for a while. It's a shame, because this has always been my favorite delivery restaurant, and I never agreed with the reviews on the Maps ad. Who knows, maybe in the future! Hopefully, see you soon.

Ordered for the first time today. But what a terrible disappointment. If you're out of stock, you can't sell anything, or even be open at all. And then finally, after the order was changed, your burgers are soggy and soft, the fries are from the air fryer, and the order is incomplete. The food was, to put it mildly, disgusting. I don't even want to go into details. Do something about this!! Never again for us!

Ordered 3 menus. They were supposed to deliver within 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, I received a phone call: EVERYTHING I ordered was out of stock. They asked if I could order something else or cancel the order. Finally, I now have 2 menus for the same price, and the drink they were supposed to include (to equal the price) wasn't even included! Very sloppy! Improvement point: make sure there's stock, otherwise don't display it on the website. Offer the customer a helping hand when mistakes occur instead of offering less and delivering late.

The vegan satay used to be fine, but now it's not tasty anymore and unfortunately, for me, the orders from the bears have stopped.

Delivery time was 2 hours and 10 minutes instead of the promised 35-55 minutes. The chicken was still raw on arrival. I'll never order from here again...

The new owner is friendly and makes time for you, even when it's busy. There was a delivery issue while ordering, which was resolved promptly. The food was good and delivered quickly. We will definitely order again.

Placing an order online was easy. The food was ready on time, and we picked it up. We had a BBQ burger and spare ribs with homemade fries. The burger was filling, and the spare ribs were deliciously tender. The homemade fries are definitely recommended. Everything is neatly packaged in a box to keep the food warm. It's a food chain where everything is still reasonably priced.

The food arrived (a little) late, wasn't warm, and the vegan satay was a kind of tofu instead of what you'd expect from satay. The fries weren't crispy or homemade.

Ordered for the first time from the bears and also the last. Pork satay looked like shoe leather and the satay sauce was so spicy that we will enjoy it again tomorrow. All the stuff was thrown in the box and upon arrival 1 box was already leaking with the melted herb butter for the potato. I call it potato because there was little puffed on it. Fries were not bad. Kudos for the mushroom truffle sauce, it was super tasty and the apple sauce too. No more bears for us.

Delivery was pretty fast. That was great. Food was good. But we were missing things. Called about it and they would come in 10 minutes. Well 45 minutes later and still nothing...... very bad this. It can happen that you forget something but fix it!

We had the bear pizza burger, loaded fries with a special frikandel, and honey ribs. The latter was a huge disappointment, unfortunately. It lacked flavor, and my girlfriend said it tasted like soup meat. We definitely won't be having those again. Yuck. They were delivered quickly, though.

Ordered at 5:00 PM, still no food at 7:00 PM. Called, and after 5 minutes of ringing, no one answered. The order was marked as delivered in their system. The least they could do was refund the money. They're idiots...

The food was good. I ordered takeout. I arrived at the confirmed time to pick up the food, and then the person at the store didn't know about my order and had to prepare it.

Frustrating…. This was our second time trying De Beren. We ordered delivery. The first time was decent, hence why we ordered again. This order was a total of €89,75 Including three full menus plus drinks. The order came within 45 min which was good; however at the door I noticed that no drinks were included. I explained to the delivery man who was kind enough to call the restaurant. He politely apologized for the mistake and explained that another delivery person will bring the drinks. We called a few times with no result - no one was keen to answer the phone (perhaps there’s a good reason - if my experience is an indicator). 3 Hours later the same delivery man shows up with the drinks. Beyond the ridiculous delay for some drinks (for 4 colas) the orders were jumbled up, food was cold and no care or love. The items were just thrown in boxes. Furthermore, little things were missing like extra bacon (paid extra of course), sauces, and coleslaw. I guess integrity within hospitality has flown out the window, lately I feel as though ordering food is like playing Russian roulette - you never know what you will receive. This is one more - of many similar instances in this city regarding food delivery. It is a shame that hospitality is non existent anymore. What is disturbing to me is that they don’t respect that people’s hard earned money is paying to keep those businesses open. Businesses: Bring your quality and customer care up to speed - Please! I have sent a complaint on their official site/ complaint form. Curious to see if I get a reply

We ordered for 6 people. Food arrived at agreed time. The food was all delicious and still hot. We will definitely order there again next time.

We order regularly and the food is always delivered quickly by friendly employees. The satay and half chicken are our favorites. Sometimes we pick up, just as easily when we are in De Mare. The restaurant looks well maintained, highly recommended!

Placed a large order last weekend and, as always, neatly packaged, delivered warm and on time. I don't understand some of the reviews, because our experience is really good. Absolute fan of this De Beren branch!

Ordered from De Beren in Alkmaar for the first time, I really liked it. The service was very direct and fast delivery and most importantly, the food was still warm. The food itself was delicious and more than enough for 2 people. The carpaccio is definitely recommended! In short, I will be ordering more often in the near future.

Ordered several times and really good food. A mistake (forgot to deliver ice cream) was immediately corrected with apologies. Everything is generously in the box and the salads are nice and fresh. We eat vegetarian and there is enough choice.

Delivered half an hour late. Food cold, chicken fried for too long, carpaccio wilted. Last time something went wrong with the delivery time and they forgot the ice cream. Much worse now in the second chance. Fries were also old, cold and dry. Not recommended, we will never call them again.

Ordered food last Saturday at 6:45 PM, food didn't arrive until 9:00 PM. Longer than 2 hours delivery time is really unacceptable. Moreover, De Beren Alkmaar was virtually impossible to reach, so we didn't even know whether our food would come or not. After previous excellent experiences at De Beren, this was a very bad turn. Order placed at 3:12 PM for delivery at 5:30 PM. This went well. Unfortunately no fries with the order. So tried calling. Didn't work. Then we drove there. Where I had to wait 10 minutes before I was helped. Sir, I'm going to fix it as soon as possible. Waited another 10, still no fries. After asking he said I will make it as soon as possible. Long story short, no fries. So never order from the bears again

Ordered hamburgers, were not even allowed to eat them. Once home, the biggest disappointment we've seen in a long time. The driest burger with a little sauce and a lettuce leaf, for €13.95. No shame from the company if you dare to sell this for that price. I can make even better burgers at home for not even €7, I will never eat here again, you don't get value for your money

I got a very nasty food poisoning here, after eating the chicken it went completely wrong, high fever and severe cramps in the intestines for a week. You should pay more attention to hygiene! So I will never eat here again.

Arrived 7 minutes before closing and they happily took my order. Which I really appreciate. Great service and I recommend it to everyone!!

The food was okay but delivery took too long. I had ordered 6:15 PM for the time slot 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM. Order didn't arrive until 8:05 PM. Had more than an hour and still delivered too late.

Ordered loaded fries but thought they were way too expensive for what you get. €13.50 for a bowl of fries and a few dry pieces of chicken with sauce. Really a waste of my money.. if you order a hair salon you get even more for cheaper and tastier too..!

"Loaded" Frisian, not loaded. Portion at least 90 percent filled with fries for 15 euros. This is very bad. Also had no cutlery.

Fast delivery also on Saturdays. I had the vegan beetroot burger. Tasty but a bit dry; more vegetables could have been added. Portions are not large but just enough.

Yesterday I got 3 cheeseburgers for 11.50 each when I got home, 2 a bun with hamburger on it and two leaves of lettuce and 1 slice of old cheese so no cheddar cheese Very poor price/quality ratio

The last time I ordered at a quarter to 7, ordered your food at 8 o'clock while it says around 10 to half past 8, then it seems as if a small child made me dinner, everything is cold, sauce smeared all over everything haha....... .......

Great, we won a prize from the #Bears at the annual Bingo of #Rietschoot. Ordered today, the owner was on the phone, such a nice conversation. She brought the prize herself and filled the bunch extra with appetizers, what a treat. De Beren thanks you for this award.

This is now the 2nd time we have ordered that there is no sauce. Then we took the chicken satay menu and specified everything we wanted and even fries sauce, which is included in the menu for free and then you just don't get it with all 3 orders, we had no sauce. I hope you pay more attention to that. The food is really delicious and excellent, but you have to do everything right.

My food would come 15 minutes later. That was half an hour later. The food was almost cold. Very dissatisfied customer

Prime for a quick bite. Mixed grill chicken is good, but sometimes you get large pieces and sometimes smaller, the penultimate time it was really too scanty. Last time I forgot both satay sauce and mayonnaise, not the only one. Delivery is fast and food is hot, but I live nearby. Artisanal fries are good. In any case, I will not order again because the sauce is regularly forgotten and the shrinkage was thick the last two times.

This is delicious! Spare ribs were super tender and the chicken satay was excellent. We ordered this for 2 adults. The photos are just one bag of fries and a portion of 3 spareribs. To be honest, we thought the chicken satay was a little less, but that may also be a matter of taste in combination with the satay sauce, it was very tender.

Not edible, vegetarian hair salon, what a mockery, filthy. The veggie "meat" is like rubber, so disgusting. Sorry, but a bit disrespectful to vegetarians, this is so unnecessary these days. I really wonder if the owners have ever eaten it themselves, you just can't like this! Burger isn't anything special either. 40 euros for junk. No more bears in the Alkmaar mare for us.

Food is good if it is planned well. Ordered two meals yesterday. My meat was already cold and I literally live above the restaurant and hate cold meat so much. Furthermore, you always got 3 sauces, now only 1. And the spareribs also had much less sauce on them than before. And to think that the prices have gone up by one euro. Next time I'll just go to a restaurant again.

Have often ordered pork tenderloin with satay sauce, but I get less and less sauce and I no longer eat the bitterballen, so I was left with a piece of glove in which I almost suffocated... no more bears for us.. It became more and more frayed.

If you can call this a bad hair salon... mega bad service by the manager. She made it herself so it seems strong to me.. see photo it looks like a frying pan. With fries not baked long enough. Manger is around to be cheeky and laughs about a complaint when you call. I just hung up because there's no chance! The way they call a customer, you would rather get your money back than ever order there again.

This thing is incredibly expensive. 1 sparerib menu. There were 2 pieces of spare ribs with some fries and a small bowl of raw vegetables and a salmon menu with a piece of salmon, fries and apple sauce. No sauce or anything added. I had to pay 37 euros. And if it was really special then I wouldn't mind paying at all, but the fries were cold and the spare ribs were floating in the fat and the salmon was dry. . I will never buy or order something from here again, such a rip off

Finally found a delivery service that is perfect. Delicious chicken satay, fries and corn on the cob. Fast delivery, everything still hot and the fries not soggy.

Ordered here for the first time a few weeks ago when I was with a friend, and it was so delicious! The vegan satay was delicious (and how great that you have vegan dishes at all!) and the artisanal fries were even better (I have never had fries delivered before that were really tasty and crispy, but these certainly were). Unfortunately, there is no branch near me... About time, so please come to Purmerend!

For a good review, a restaurant usually has to meet two of the following criteria: "fast, cheap, good". Unfortunately, the Bears did not succeed. It took 1.5 hours to prepare the food. After picking up and returning home (with two impressive boxes), the fries turned out to be limp and the food cold. Moreover, the raw vegetables in a vegan dish were not vegan (it was nice that this was said when picking up). The quality does not justify the price; Had that match been better, the food warm and the preparation time reasonable, the Beren would have received four stars.

3 times more expensive than most snack bars but a lot worse, they can't even make fries properly, it was way too short.

Ordered yesterday, 3 dishes arrived with far too much packaging (star restaurant?) and still half cold. Hamburgers with all the sauce loosely packed, bun too heavily toasted (black), burger dry and certainly no taste, fries were okay, but not really tasty. Onion rings: onion super tough, and hard cold crust. Tortilla chips not warm with melted cheese, but loose, dry with cold chemical sauce added: No, no success, a regular snack bar is much better!

Delicious hare satay and chicken satay menus, only twice now that the fries were pale and limp. So if it is well done next time, it will be worth 5 stars. Point of attention 😉

Finally a Bear in Alkmaar! I received great help when I picked it up and when I had it delivered the second time, it went just as well! Lots of good quality food delivered in beautiful boxes :)

When looking at the menu we were immediately walked over. Friendly staff and fast service. The food is very tasty and all neatly packaged. We picked it up and when we got home it was still very warm. We enjoyed it very much and will definitely come back again.
