Bezorgrestaurant De Beren Leidsche Rijn - Grauwaartsingel in Wijk 09 Leidsche Rijn

1hr 15mins wait for a burger. My house is 700m from this restaurant. Ordered on Thuisbezorgd and before ordering the delivery time showed as 30mins. Once ordered it jumped to 55mins. No way to cancel and no live tracking of the order. It’s clearly frozen food so shouldn’t take over 1 hour to cook and deliver a burger. Fries were dry and they forgot the sauces. Unacceptable and a poor business model.

We had delicious food delivered. Everything was nice and hot and fresh. The delivery person was also very polite. We had pork tenderloin satay with fries and prawn skewers. The food was very good. The prawns came with a mango chutney, but this chutney didn't really add much in terms of flavor. Otherwise, very satisfied.

We ordered pizza via Sugo. It turned out to be De Beren. We found this out by calling because the pizza took 1.5 hours to arrive. When the pizzas arrived, a terrible smell emanated from them. This turned out to be the BBQ sauce. Also, the mushroom pizza had very watery mushrooms, and the churros were too small and hard. In short, not a success!

What a bunch of rude kids they have working here. I called well in advance with an order. When I arrived, the four of them were standing there doing nothing. The order hadn't been made and they were only just about to start preparing it then. And they were being loud-mouthed too. I am never coming here again!

This was incredibly bad… truffle fries cold, soggy, no salt, very little sauce, and the container was barely full. Chicken tough, cold, and hardly any real flavor. Took a bite of gyoza and it was just plastic I was eating. Unbelievable that you pay 45 for this.

What a worthless company this is! You order via Thuisbezorgd and a specific delivery time is indicated there. After ordering, you receive a confirmation that the expected delivery time is suddenly 1.5 hours. (This is deliberately not communicated so that people keep ordering.) If you call this company just to cancel, you are referred to Thuisbezorgd. I deliberately did not provide any details to the employee to cancel because contacting Thuisbezorgd is just as hopeless. What are these bunglers doing? Without me providing address details or an order number, they cancelled (without actually confirming this!) based on caller ID. When you call them, you get the most unfriendly and rude jerk on the phone. Conclusion: The quality and service of De Beren are substandard.

Ordered the spare ribs menu. Regular fries instead of twister fries, and they were cold. The corn on the cob was also missing. After a phone call, I eventually received warm twister fries and (for me) a large corn on the cob. And apologies during the phone call and from the delivery driver who came to bring the twister fries and corn on the cob. 🤗

It took a little longer, but the food was fine.

I ordered food here around Christmas last year and got food poisoning from it. I filed a complaint multiple times by email and also called frequently. Due to a change in staff, the blame supposedly lies with the previous owner. They said they would look into the complaint, but unfortunately, this is systematically neglected. There is also no further response. Given that they handle complaints just as poorly as the food, I would not order here again.

Came for takeout, very unserious staff and a lot of loitering youths outside who started whistling at me. I felt very unsafe and have never come back here. Also, the food wasn't great; it was awful and cold. The manager was also shouting the whole time.

EDIT: April 5, 2026 Addition to the story below: April 5, 2026: Once again, I only received 649 grams instead of 750 grams. I called and was told the following: We trim them to 250 grams. They shrink in the oven, which reduces the quantity. I understand that, but then put 850 grams in, and don't sell it as 750 grams. I had the 100 grams delivered later. This ended up being almost 200 grams (decent). I AM DEFINITELY DONE WITH THIS SHOP! Ordered the 750 grams of spareribs the last 3 times. The first time I only received 640 grams. Reported this with the next order. Then I received over 900 grams. Well-intentioned, of course, but I couldn't finish it. Ordered again today. Received too little again: 625 grams. Called and had it delivered later. It seems to be a pattern; they just try it. I'm not going to be fooled again, and I'm probably done with this place. It's a shame, because I actually quite like them. But unfortunately...

Since the new owner, the food is really top-notch and the staff incredibly friendly. I will definitely be back!

Delicious food! The spareribs were unbelievably tasty! A real taste explosion and wonderfully tender meat. At first we were skeptical because of the reviews, but fortunately we didn't agree with them. Apparently, they have a new owner. So definitely worth a try!

Since the new owner, you really notice the difference. The service is friendlier, everything is cleaner, and the quality has improved significantly. I come here much more often now and am satisfied every time!

We ordered a mixed platter, and the fat from the meat was in the bag. After opening it, we saw the meat, and the spareribs looked terrible; simply inedible, they looked so disgusting. After contacting the restaurant, they said (just throw it in the oven). You placed an order of €46? Well, judging by the photo, it doesn't look appetizing. In the end, we received two burgers as compensation. And it's a shame, because the food looked so good and tasty in the photos on Thuisbezorgd.

The amount of meat was truly scandalously small. 2 undercooked spare ribs, half a tough pork tenderloin, and cold fries. The applesauce was warm. —> Never again De Beren! Update: After 8 months, you get an email. Oh, that's a shame to hear, and we'll discuss it…

What a joke, waited 2.5 hours for disgustingly cold food. Called three times, and each time they said, "It'll be right there." Don't order from here.

The order wasn't delivered; the expected delivery time had long passed. The restaurant couldn't be reached by phone. After waiting almost two hours, I picked up the order myself. Once inside, I discovered my order was still in the stack somewhere; it was brought forward; I'm afraid this was at the expense of others who had already been waiting. There was also no compensation for the delivery fee and the extra fuel costs incurred to pick up the order. I would definitely not recommend it [especially on weekends/peak hours].

Poor service, waited two hours and no food. The delivery drivers were unfamiliar with the area and didn't speak the language. They claimed to have delivered, but received nothing, and weren't even on the security cameras around the house, so they hadn't been there and couldn't be reached afterward. They later admitted to having been delivered to the wrong address. They didn't even call to tell them it was a mistake. So, definitely don't order...

Another incomplete order, ordered at 5 p.m. and delivered at 5:40 p.m. Fries were missing, along with one sauce. I called and they'd deliver it as quickly as possible. In short, the food was cold, the fries supposedly warm. A waste of my €60. Come up with a solution for this, as it's not the first time. And then, on top of that, the wrong fries and too few were delivered upon delivery. The food was also of very poor quality. That's worth less than one star.

Don't order here. I waited over two hours for my food. I stood on hold for half an hour, and nobody answered. It wasn't until I put on my shoes to go somewhere else to get something to eat that the doorbell rang.

Almost three hours later, still not everything was complete, and lies were everywhere on the phone. Whenever I order, I almost always pick it up! The fries are almost always made as soon as I arrive; then it's another three-minute wait, and I get them neatly packed. Absolutely unacceptable. We ordered from De Beren Leidsche Rijn expecting the promised 30-minute delivery. What we got instead was a 1 hour and 30 minute wait, and not a single update in between. No call, no message, not even a pigeon to let us know our food was apparently stuck in a time loop. By the time it arrived, it was lukewarm and our appetite had long evolved into existential despair. If this was a test of patience, congratulations, we failed. If it was supposed to be dinner, also congratulations, you failed. Do not order from here ever.

We've ordered mixed grill here several times and it's always excellent. Now there's a buy-one-get-one-serve deal, but the portion seems to be split by two. A tiny piece of steak, or rather, a steak tartare, and half a chicken breast. It came with a piece of spare rib that lacked much flavor. The food was lukewarm, and the mayonnaise and coleslaw weren't delivered. Coleslaw was delivered later, as that was also what we paid for. I won't be returning and I don't recommend it.

What a bad place, I have been here twice, for the first and last time, one star is still too many, which is bad, the order was incorrect and if you call, you have to contact home delivery because they delivered it, the Beren says there is nothing they can do about it.

I just ordered food from them, it was delivered cold, even though I asked for it to be warmed up extra well because of pregnancy, I paid 30 euros and it is now in the garbage bin..

Ordered on Boxing Day, the site stated that the branch was open. Once the order was placed, I later received a call that the branch was closed. Money was supposed to be refunded, now 4 days later, money has not yet been refunded and emails have not been responded to. It's ridiculous that it has to take so long.

How this place continues to stay in business is beyond me! I only ordered here because there was 1+1 burger deal (Big mistake!). Ordered at 7:20pm. The promised delivery time on their website was 8:35pm. The food arrived at 9:20pm. The fries were just trash. The chicken crush burger wasn't too bad. I once had bought a Beren 3 course voucher from Kruidvat and had a mediocre experience at their restaurant. This will be the last time I will order or go to Beren! Enough is enough!

Normally I read the reviews. But I thought, hey, I know the bears. I ordered the carpaccio salad and fries. What I saw was just a sad little salad... To consider it as a meal salad for such a small amount, no way... Such a shame... Ordered food from the bears last Friday. Waited 90 minutes so I called. The delivery man is just on his way, he will be there in 20 minutes, sir. Placed another order with the Beren today. Normally it is always fine, but if you order 400 grams of Spareribs you also expect 400 grams, but that is not the case. My wife is dropped off with 282 grams of spare ribs. Her herb butter had also leaked from the container because it had ended up on its side and therefore the rest was also covered in the herb butter. I have not changed my question marks like this to order here again.

Order no.30 from 12-04-2024: 2x satay menu, unfortunately the baked potato was missing, unfortunately forgotten. Satay was good (2 skewers), but the whole was meager. Some wet lettuce in small containers, some prawn crackers, fried onions and extra satay sauce for no less than €37.75!! with delivery. Price/quality has gone completely off the rails. Too bad, this used to be different here. The last time here for us.

Then the delivery can and should be better, I am 4 kilometers away from this restaurant and that takes 1.5 hours. After an hour of calling, I was answered promptly. It was reported that the bicycle courier had just left the restaurant and was on his way to us. After another 30 minutes the bell rang and a delivery person was at the door with .............??? the car. I find that strange, would they have forgotten me and only started processing my order after my phone call? The food was super hot so I have the feeling that the very friendly guy on the phone wasn't quite telling the truth. But in terms of food, you certainly can't do anything about your chicken satay to eat it just fine. However, I do think that orders received via Uber Eats or Thuisbezorgd.nl should be picked up more quickly and if something does go wrong, please call the customer.

Always very enthusiastic about De Beren Leidsche Rijn!!! Ordered yesterday. Something went wrong on the website that was my own fault, so I had to pick up the order. Despite the crowds, they delivered it to your home after telephone contact! The food arrived on time, was still hot and super tasty! Both the staff on the phone and the delivery people are very friendly! Compliments! And man, the fries are delicious!!!

one of the menus was not delivered. Contacted the restaurant, but they were too busy to solve the problem and would call back in the evening (which I thought was quite special). Ordered via Uber eats. Arrived at stated time and was still warm. The spare ribs were tough and did not fall off the bone. But the pork tenderloin satay was very tasty. The loaded fries chicken was not very tasty chicken. But otherwise a great experience.

Dinner would be here at 4:49 pm. It's 5:27 PM and still not here.

Ordered 2 wraps. And I don't often write reviews. But Jesus what bad food for 30€. Rock-hard bacon. Breaking your molars. And they can't really fill a wrap either. First 3 bites and last 2 bites no filling.

I finally contacted the restaurant via Thuisbezorgd, and they refused to offer compensation for the money already paid. Unfortunately, I only now see the other negative Google reviews, otherwise I would never have ordered here. So here's a warning: don't order here!!

Was always very good, unfortunately nowadays often slow (waiting for an hour for 1 portion of satay where 25 minutes is promised) and rude (when calling, they hang up and are blamed for home delivery, even though the order was placed directly from Beren). Food is cold and bad, much better options available…

Shouldn't use the word restaurant.

Food was tasty, but what an inhospitable, unsanitary and unsympathetic place to spend your money when you pick up food. Stand together in your work clothes and smoke in front of the entrance, then you go inside and then you are ignored by students and the (I think) owner who literally licks their fingers and puts away a plate of food while they pack orders. I don't think that was the intention.

Super good food, for relatively little money! Highly recommended ;)
