Bistro De Bock in Wijk 01 Woerden-Midden

Appetizer sandwich. Exceptionally bad, and that for €5.50. The main course was good. The ice cream dessert wasn't good. It had flakes of ice in it. No real whipped cream, so it was mediocre. Too expensive for what you get.

Great food, but the interior is way too small and very warm.

Small portions & the steak was cold at our entire table. The fries also only came after we had already finished our food. Shame.

Dishes on the menu as expected at a bistro, but slightly better in quality with the use of good ingredients and fresh sauces. Reasonably small portions and scant garnishes. So are the fries. A tiny standard bowl of French fries. Come on! That could be better. I can also get fries at the snack bar. Then at least give your guests the choice between fries and, for example, a freshly fried bantam. Unfortunately a disappointment. Side dishes such as salad and sauce must be paid for separately. Why restaurants choose to do that is a mystery to me. Doesn't feel hospitable to me. Cheese for desert was well varied, but seemed to have been left uncovered for a while, causing it to dry out. Service fine but not special. Finally, we had to wait a very long time for our food and it wasn't that busy. Too bad, take it a step further and I would come back again. Now it was a one-off.

Delicious food, friendly staff. We ate again on January 25, 2025. It was delicious, the food was delicious, and the staff were still friendly. However, there was a lot of talking and a radio in the background.

Bistro de Bock Not much on your plate with only paid additions to the meat such as sauce and vegetables. Not like in photos of the Bistro. Irish coffee was prepared in a kind of beer mug with completely wrong proportions. Lots of whipped cream and no candy or brown sugar. So moderate. This was a one-off for us.

The food was delicious, but the spare ribs had quite a lot of small loose bones, which is not OK. Therefore 1 star less.

I found it a very pleasant place to have dinner. The service was very attentive, polite and friendly. I can't say anything negative about the food either; everything tasted very good and was worth the price. I especially recommend the onion soup.

Excellent grilled food, friendly staff. there was something wrong with one of the dishes. Reported this but indicated that it was not a big deal but something to be aware of in others. Service insisted on taking back the dish (which was already half finished) and in no time a new dish was on the table. This point of feedback was handled so well that they deserve 5 stars

Friendly amateurs. Bowl was handed to you with your finger on the inside of the bowl. Satay was tender. Satay sauce too salty. Piri piri shrimp cooked through. Operating aprons not clean...

Very friendly staff. My burger was a bit on the cold side. Two others were also not very enthusiastic about the food.

The food is fine, although I think the vegetarian burger was just an incredible burger. It is very noisy and you can barely hear the person in front of you. The pace was high at the beginning of the evening, with the main course quickly following the starter. Later there was less staff and we looked at empty plates for fifteen minutes. The decor is beautiful. Starter, main course, drink and coffee for four people was € 230.00. We were outside two hours later, satisfied. We'll go back again.

Had a very delicious meal at Bistro de Bock! I had the spareribs (which were super tender and deliciously sweet/very slightly spicy) and my friend had the Bock Burger. We were both very satisfied and had a delicious meal. The lady blanche is also recommended here. Furthermore, the service was very pleasant and the atmosphere was super cozy. I think it is a particularly ideal tent for the autumn, when it is dark and cold outside, raining hard and the wind blowing. All in all we had a wonderful evening here!

On a busy Saturday evening, smooth service and what I read in previous reviews, salad without dressing and unprepared plates, we noticed the opposite. We had a delicious meal and a pleasant evening.

Really nice food, nice service and good atmosphere

Good tasty ingredients, but little sense of layout and service. Duck liver (most expensive starter!) put on a plate with dry lettuce without dressing. Would be reported to the kitchen, but nothing happens. The side dishes for dinner are then placed on the table, which are cold when the main course arrives after 10 minutes. Inquiry with the service yields the answer that they do this for the kitchen planning on busy days.... With 4 occupied tables, this was not the case today... It is a pity that the kitchen and service act like this and do not show any understanding that it could be much better, as the quality of the ingredients is really excellent.

Delicious food in the attractive bistro. Took a little longer between starter and main course, but it was worth the wait! Duck liver terrine as a starter and fried tuna as a main course and a delicious homemade cheesecake for dessert. Service is super friendly and attentive. Outside there is a beautiful terrace in the courtyard. Definitely worth repeating.

Ultimately not my thing.. *my personal opinion* is that it doesn't really exude a cafe atmosphere. In addition, if you sit with 2 people for 3 hours for food that you normally get in a cafe, then it is quite long. An hour and a half would have been fine. I had opted for the hamburger, I was not asked how I wanted it, there was a lot of cheese on it and you could not grab the sandwich with both hands and eat it. The service was still smiling...they are quite big to pick up in one go. I think the eatery concept really fits in Woerden, but perhaps De Bock still needs some fine-tuning to get there. There really is room for something like that in Woerden!

Had dinner with my boyfriend last weekend and it was really delicious!! We had the fish platter for 2 people. and that is highly recommended! The portions were generous and the staff was very friendly.

Beautiful bistro with a nice, cozy atmosphere! The dishes are delicious and the portions are large enough. Especially “Tasting Board De Bock”, a selection of starters to share, is highly recommended! We will definitely come back again.

We had a delicious meal with four people in the attractive restaurant 'Bistro de Bock'. The service was very cheerful, up for a chat and offered help when needed, they were very well thought of. One of us couldn't choose between the starters so the lady referred us to the tasting board. You could taste all the dishes on this tasting board, definitely recommended! The main courses were also tasty and tasty! We ended with a dessert platter, which was AMAZING! In short, a pleasant and delicious meal in a charming restaurant!

Ate for the 3rd time. 1st 2 times very good. Today unfortunately a completely different experience. Had the grilled tuna. Very salty was indicated but was initially only reported to the kitchen. Uneaten tuna is really not possible. Indicated again after clearing. Could finish a cup of coffee. Well, no, that's not necessary anymore. Reported again to someone else. They reported that it was pickled tuna and could mean nothing. We're not going to try again. Really could and should have been resolved better. Missed opportunity.

Having reserved two weeks in advance, the five of us are crammed into a table of four. Waited fifteen minutes for first drink. Not a special meal either, steak was even dry. Don't eat here again.

Unfortunately we didn't eat well here. The escargot tasted sour. The sea bream was really not tasty. The fries were brown and hard and therefore not tasty. I also found the salad sour and not tasty The atmosphere was good, but it was cold and the heating was not on. Service was good and a small discount was charged at checkout.

Ate here yesterday by chance. At first I had something else in mind because I hadn't actually come across this online. I walked by and saw the map and immediately told man man dr about it. He immediately said yes, I want to go there. When I wanted to reserve one, it was first available at 8am. This was probably too late for us because we were going to a concert. I saw the lady walk into the shop and I thought I'd ask. And it was possible... yes 😀 and we were so happy afterwards. It was really delicious! The carpaccio XL is such good quality. If I could give a tip. Give the customer the choice between pesto (original on the menu) or truffle mayonnaise. But yum. I also had the smoked salmon, which was very rich. And Verde we also had 200gr round steak and a delicious ribeye with champion bacon and onion in a wild mushroom sauce. When we're in the area again, we know where we're going to eat 👍

Typically still starting up. Perhaps we expected more than what was delivered this time. Shrimp cocktail from Norwegian shrimps that were mainly very moist but had lost their taste between Norway and the Netherlands. This was compensated with a lot of sauce in which they tried to swim again. What's wrong with Dutch shrimp with a little bit of whiskey sauce? Dorade had a very fishy taste but did not seem very fresh. I expected spare ribs for €23 to be very special, but unfortunately that didn't work out. Satay was OK but not more than that. I would provide a plate with ribs and fish to place the bones/bones on while eating. Good luck with the improvements and I'm curious about the future. By the way, the building is beautiful and the seating is very cozy.

Original bistro with a modern twist. Very cozy atmosphere. Delicious food. With the table we had the schnitzel, sirloin steak and plaice fillet. All delicious dishes with fresh and good products. Friendly staff. In short: highly recommended!

Great place to eat! Food was amazing, and quite far above expectations in quality. Everything freshly made and done (e.g. home smoked salmon) with a great variance of bistro classics. Even a lot of choice on the kids menu. Great ambiance and very friendly staff. Will definitely go again soon!

Essentially eating during the first official day open. Tomato soup as a starter, 200g round steak with pepper sauce for the main and lava cake for dessert. It was really delicious! service was good, lovely warm atmosphere, nice background music. It is clear that they have experience with the ins and outs of a restaurant. Highly recommended if you don't want to eat too culinary, but still want the feeling of being in a real restaurant.
