Mei Wah in Wijk 01 Woerden-Midden

After the takeover I tried it twice but it was very disappointing. The chicken spring roll, other meat, steak strips, were very hard and the sauces were nothing like the chicken satay.

The food is just as delicious as before, nice big portions and the food always arrives nice and hot

Too bad, too bad since the takeover by new owners the quality of the food has deteriorated considerably. The sauce with the Foe Yong Hai tastes like wallpaper paste and the taste is very flat also the food is lukewarm when taking away. I think it is put in the , keep warm? , cupboard much too early. I came to the previous owners Yee Wah Wong and her mother Hop Sing for more than 45 years. The new owners claimed that the chefs would stay and that the quality of the food would remain the same, well no way.

Service and food was a lot better before the change of owners. Already had 3 times that our order was missing or wrong. We will not order from them again

Went to pick it up again today. A young friendly lady helped me, she speaks limited Dutch. The owner is unfriendly and rude. Unfortunately, the quality deteriorated after the takeover. The taste is no longer what it used to be, especially the wok dishes are tasteless and the food is lukewarm, only the nasi and mifan are tasty and warm.

After contacting us by telephone, they were promised that they would be delivered. Within 2 minutes I was called back that the order was correct, in short, I would be lying..... The stir-fried shrimps that we ordered extra had to cost more than 10 euros, we literally got 3 shrimps in a bowl. This evening, December 8, a bad experience with this restaurant that has changed hands. We've been coming there for years. The food we received was not bad, but the quantity was poor. Was the tastiest Chinese in Woerden. However, last weekend I found the dishes to be of significantly lower quality. I loved the babi pangang, with that soft meat (sometimes almost stew meat), but it was now harder and chewier. The restaurant has been taken over, so I'm afraid that some of the original preparation methods have been lost. Always came there from Bodegraven........ But I'm afraid I won't do that anymore.

We were on vacation in Woerden and this restaurant was recommended to us. The food did not disappoint. It was nice to taste the difference from Chinese food in the Netherlands vs Chinese food in Canada.

What disgusting food! The cow loe kai were chunks with hard pieces in the meat with a sour aftertaste. Babi pangang smelled and was in a watery, uninviting sauce. Satay was tough. The only thing that was good to eat was the peanut sauce. No more Mei Wah for us, yuck!

My 5 stars are for how they treated us, the lady who treated us was very kind. He explained the dishes to us, since they only had a menu in Dutch and if we had any food allergies. He came up to ask if the food was to our taste and his smile was truly sincere. I posted the photos of what we ordered: the beef with spicy soy (mild spicy) was very good and the meat was tender.

We ordered duck there...the top 4 pieces were ok and there were dried out meat residues hidden underneath. I complained but it was not accepted and charged. We were also rushed to order because the kitchen was closing... strangely, a customer was still being cooked when we left. Were not satisfied with the whole thing 😠

Nice people, normally I go to Shanghai paradise... (they were on holiday).. now I ordered satay and babi ketchjap... Sorry, the satay was dry and the ketjap looked like tjap tjoy.. with 4 pieces of meat in it, and a lot of vegetables 🙈🙈🙈 The only good thing was the beer.. (nice and cold) 🍺👍🏻

I come from outside Woerden to get Chinese here because it tastes good and differs from the standard menu at the average Chinese! I can recommend good food to everyone! The prices in general are about 15% higher than other Chinese ones, but that's okay as far as I'm concerned. The whole thing is run by two somewhat hectic ladies who are very friendly :-)

I had to wait 1 hour for a babi-pangang with noodles, I was not the only one who had to wait that long, other guests also became impatient. When I asked where my food was, I was told that they were "not sleeping" without any form of apology, very rude treatment in my opinion. The food wasn't even special either. Next time it will be nice again, to the long wall on the Utrechtsestraatweg, where everything is always well organized and the food is delicious.
