The staff so kindly squeezed us in before another reservation and worked with us to make sure we had a good experience within the available time. The flavours of the dishes were all interesting and delicious combinations and my virgin gin & tonic was great! Very highly recommend this stellar locale.

Incredibly delicious food and super service. We were welcomed very warmly and relaxed, then we could choose from the menu or let ourselves be surprised. We were surprised, what a taste explosion on every plate and great presentation. Including super tender filet mignon, celeriac, salmon, beef tartare etc. We asked if we could get a matching wine with each dish and this was no problem and was served as half glasses (replenished as needed 😉). The dessert was also not inferior. Really recommended! And we were told that they regularly change their menu, if we are ever in the area again we will definitely come and eat!

Nice, small intimate restaurant hidden above a brown café in Alkmaar. Because you have to go up the stairs it is unfortunately not suitable for people in a wheelchair. Cozy atmosphere, good food and nice service. I can't really think of a point of attention at the moment. For me a first introduction to this restaurant and it is certainly recommended. Make sure you make a reservation because that is really necessary.

Cozy restaurant, living room atmosphere, good service, dishes tasted delicious, especially the hamburger, but for the amount overpriced (3 prawns for 14 euros). Therefore 3 stars. If the prices were a bit more reasonable (I am really used to a lot) I will definitely come there to dine more often.

What a beautiful evening in Heerlijke Del: we discovered the shop by chance on our wedding anniversary trip because a lot of things went differently on this holiday than we had originally planned. Although we hadn't made a reservation, we were lucky enough to get a table and were greeted warmly and served. What apparently particularly pleased the host was that we trusted him to choose the dishes and he then served us three starters, three main courses and a dessert, all of which really enchanted us visually and tastefully. With this menu we ate our way halfway around the world, as it had Asian, Oriental, Italian and French influences. I can't even say what I liked or liked best. The whole atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, almost friendly and completely calm. The food, however, was star-level 🩷 and at a comparatively really friendly price! It's really worth going up the "dangerous" steps... should we come to Alkmaar again. We're looking forward to a visit.

Surprisingly cozy restaurant in probably a former upstairs apartment. Cozy but cozy. Staff very nice and friendly. But most importantly! really delicious food. We had a great time.

Tip gehad om hier te gaan eten. Zo genoten, je besteld verschillende gerechten en deze kun je delen met je tafelgenoten. Knusse plek en vriendelijk personeel. Het is niet groot, dus als het vol is kan het best druk zijn.

Ate here with two friends and we were impressed! Until now the absolute number one in Alkmaar and the surrounding area. The food was really delicious and the dishes were beautifully balanced. The concept of the sharing dinner was not completely clear, perhaps it was explained, but not well understood due to the ambient noise. However, that didn't spoil the fun! The atmosphere is cozy and homely, which makes for a pleasant dining experience. The service is friendly and attentive, and it is definitely recommended to make a reservation. The drinks were also very good, whether you opt for a glass of wine or a gin and tonic. My personal favorites were the Sweet Potato Fries, the Goat Cheese and the Trout Tartare. To finish off, the Sticky Date Cake and Chocolate Fudge were not to be missed! In short, a fantastic experience and we will definitely come back!

Een verrassend en knus restaurantje. Gelegen op de 1e etage boven een cafe in het centrum van Alkmaar, aan de gracht. Shared dining, verrassende kaart. Zeer smaakvolle gerechten die heerlijk met elkaar te combineren zijn. Hulde aan de kok en vriendelijke bediening. Terecht een huiskamer-gevoel. Prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is ook heel goed. Kortom: ga er gewoon eten 😋.

Na aanleiding van alle positieve reviews zijn mijn partner en ik hier komen dineren. Zoals iedereen al aangeeft, echt een verborgen parel in de binnenstad van Alkmaar. Regelmatig voorbij gelopen zonder te weten dat dit restaurant bestaat. Gelijk al bij binnenkomst ben je in de huiskamersfeer. Muziekje op de achtergrond, laagdrempelig contact met de bediening en onwijs lekker eten. Net even wat specialere ingrediënten, mooi opgediend, maar zeker met niet te veel poespas! Alles paste en het ene gerecht was nog lekkerder dan t andere. Wij komen zeker terug.

After all the positive reviews, my partner and I came here for dinner. As everyone indicates, a truly hidden gem in the city center of Alkmaar. Regularly walked past without knowing this restaurant existed. As soon as you enter you are in the living room atmosphere. Music in the background, easy contact with the service and incredibly delicious food. Just a few more special ingredients, beautifully presented, but certainly without too much fuss! Everything fit and one dish was even tastier than the other. We will definitely come back.

Ended up here via Google after a day of movies and shopping. When you walk past it you first think "a pub!?" But no, it's above it😅. Super fun and delicious food! Beautiful combinations, not always standard flavors, but perfectly combined and highly flavored and therefore a compliment! The service is also personal and very nice. Tonight we had a delicious meal at Heerlijk Nel for the fourth time! All dishes are made with love and attention. And the living room atmosphere is fantastic. You can have a good conversation in a friendly setting without having to shout or be bothered by someone else. The service is also very nice, full of attention, respectful and calm. Despite the crowds, the service doesn't miss a beat.

A lovely quiet place to eat with a kind of living room feeling. No rush and a warm welcome. I found the concept of small, different snacks that you can share surprising. We only ate vegetarian dishes and they were surprisingly tasty and fortunately different from the limited choices in other restaurants. I will definitely eat here more often!

They know how to perfectly combine flavors, great, everything is perfect. This is highly recommended for anyone who wants something different. Price is also very reasonable. On Friday evening we went to eat at Heerlijke Nel in Alkmaar. After calling we were able to get a seat at the high table, a great spot. Very nice, hospitable service in a homely atmosphere on the first floor. The dishes are super tasty and slightly larger than a starter so you can taste everything and each other. The layout of the signs is very nicely done. The service is excellent, nice girls, we will definitely go back.

We are on holiday in Egmond aan de Hoef and then eating out in Alkmaar is close by. Delicious, chose Nel after reading the review. Well, we also give them a 10. A restaurant that we really recommend.

Een gezellige, kleine en intieme eetgelegenheid waar je echt rustig van het eten kan genieten. Vriendelijk personeel dat je alle tijd gunt om van het eten te genieten en je ook de tijd gunt tussen de maaltijden in. Kwaliteit echt zeer goed en smaakvol eten. Oprecht een aanrader en een plek waar ik/ wij zeker vaker zullen komen.

The welcome and service were warm and attentive as always. The food was tasty but some dishes were over-seasoned and too salty. Presumably there was a holiday worker in the kitchen. We really missed the subtle flavors of the previous times. Hopefully next time the two girls will be back in the kitchen, cooking surprising and deliciously refined dishes! Unfortunately, there was a quite noisy group present, so we decided not to have dessert and went for coffee somewhere else. We had to make an effort to understand each other. It would be nice if people who cannot take others into account could just sit at the bar in a pub and eat and shout. Or go to a food bar instead of a small cozy place like Heerlijk Nel. Super friendly service and the restaurant lives up to its name...really delicious! The restaurant is located on the 1st floor, so at first we had doubts given the nice weather. But a seat at the open window with a view of the water and the bridge certainly appealed to us. Highly recommended!

A hidden treasure in Alkmaar. Walked by so many times without knowing this restaurant existed. It is cozy and nicely decorated, super friendly people, great prices and the food is really delicious. Many different choices on the menu and with the shared dining concept you can try several dishes. We really liked the burger and filet mignon and the sweet potato fries were really excellent! If you have an allergy, this is taken into account and they even have a vegan dessert (off the menu), which is also suitable if you are lactose intolerant. We will definitely come back here again! (Note: to get to the restaurant you have to climb a high flight of stairs, if you have difficulty walking I would not recommend this)

Een verborgen schat in Alkmaar. Zo vaak langsgelopen zonder te weten van het bestaan van dit restaurant. Het is knus en leuk ingericht, super vriendelijke mensen en het eten is echt heerlijk. Heel veel verschillende keuzes op het menu en met het shared dining concept kun je meerdere gerechtjes proberen. Wij vonden de burger en filet mignon erg lekker en de zoete aardappelfriet was echt voortreffelijk! Indien je een allergie hebt wordt hier heel goed rekening mee gehouden en ze hebben zelfs een vegan nagerecht (buiten de kaart) wat dus ook geschikt is als je lactose intolerant bent. Hier komen wij zeker nog eens terug! (Let op: om in het restaurant te komen moet je en hoge trap op, indien je slecht ter been bent zou ik dit niet aanbevelen)

What a nice, homely and cozy atmosphere. Small-scale and cozy. Hostesses are great and take the time for you. The menu has small dishes that you can share (or keep for yourself). You order 2 or 3 dishes at a time. Be warned: 1 great taste sensation and no dish is the same. Big compliment to the chef! One of my favorite tents now so see you next time.

We had a really delicious meal in this cozy living room on the first floor. Good atmosphere, perfect service and delicious food. Great!

It's been a long time since we had such a good meal! Every dish very tasty and delicious wine! The port/sherry with the cheese board was also delicious. And a very friendly lady (Eva?) who served us.

Without Tripadvisor we probably would have missed this restaurant because you have to climb a flight of stairs and there are no large or noticeable signs at the bottom of the house. Luckily we had reserved, so we had a wonderful evening. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table by the window. A wonderful and by no means intrusive conversation started with one of the two bosses. We had a gin and tonic and a London Mule beforehand. Both with Fevertree Tonic - excellent start. Then the concept with the many smaller main courses that you can put together was explained to us. In short, whether prawns or filet mignon, beef tataki or zarzuela and "fluffy falafel", we were amazed at the presentation, sophistication and preparation that went into these meals. I'm very inclined to say that was star level! We drank a very good bottle of Chilean Chardonnay to accompany it. What should be mentioned about this culinary experience is that the ambience is very cozy and not at all ultra-modern. You can have a romantic meal here, which is often not possible otherwise. Second time eating here and the food is really tasty. nice dish(es) and good portions to share. There is certainly an atmosphere in a living room type setting. nothing wrong with that, you just have to know it and also know where to find it (entrance via cafe/up stairs). definitely come again

Delicious food, although I expected a larger vegetarian menu. As a result, I ordered the same dish twice. (There is more choice than two and I also tasted another one and it was also delicious) This expectation arises because you find this restaurant when looking for a vegetarian restaurant. Then I just expect a lot of choice. :-) a bit of a strange situation at first because we were asked what we wanted to order while we had been inside for 2 minutes and had not yet received a menu or explanation. Was solved by another lady. We could not have concluded from the website that it is shared dining.
