Really love hr food and service! The owner or manager was very lovely and understanding about our dog. The food was good, my favourite was the polenta with pumpkin and the chocolate guanage desert was lovely. cute interior too.

Summary: not even brasserie-level. Beautiful location, lovely interior. Money was thrown at this. Unfortunately, the food is truly subpar. How this place gets a 14 from Gault Millau is incomprehensible. Actually, the problem starts with the welcome. They ask us twice if we want water, but we have to wait a long time for a menu. Cocktails are not available for drinks, and the beer selection is extremely poor (local beer, Radler, and, oh my god, Affligem). But the biggest problem is the food. Undercooked sweetbreads (after we complained, they said they should be), pickled salmon that wasn't pickled, and a ridiculously salty tomato tartlet. Absolutely subpar.

Surprise lunch, well-prepared and delicious, BUT, I was incredibly sick afterward. I called to report it, got an explanation, and that was it.

Unfortunately, Bistro LOF didn't meet our expectations. We found the dishes tasty, but not surprising or special. Furthermore, substituting a sole meuniere (sold out) for a piece of fried pike-perch and charging the same price (€38) is ridiculous. We were pleased with the quality of the wines. However, we found it rather sloppy to keep a wine list that's only two pages long up-to-date. The service was varied. From inexperienced and very clumsy in communication to correct and polite. However, it wasn't very personal. The wait times were too long. Eating three courses in three hours isn't the right pace, in our opinion. In summary: For these prices and in this segment, we expected more in all areas...

Ouch! What happened to the praise? The location and service were great again. But the restaurant? Not great. Oysters with too much on them, so the oyster flavor is gone... Watermelon with mussels and curry as an entree? Nice idea, but it really doesn't work (no mussel taste), half a sole? The plating is a mess. Too much sauce against the fish. Roasted spinach (delicious) with limp potato chunks on top. Too bad. Even the fries were less crispy than usual. The bill was hefty. So, back to the drawing board, because that won't hold. Tip! With a team, taste and observe critically. Pretentious chef with poor skills at work...

Upon arrival, the pleasant atmosphere was immediately noticeable; the ambiance is elegant and carefully created, entirely fitting for a restaurant with star-level aspirations. However, the contrast between the surroundings and the culinary execution was noticeable. The menu, while technically sound, lacked character, excitement, and refinement in its flavor development. The main course most exemplified this shortcoming. It came across as dry, accompanied by a vegetable compote that tasted more bitter than balanced. The presentation made a promise that was not fulfilled in the mouth. In contrast, the homemade fries and mayonnaise excelled in simplicity and craftsmanship, a rare highlight that could not compensate for the quality of the other dishes. The dessert was well-presented, but did not give the impression of being freshly made and therefore did not leave a convincing finale. The service also failed to impress. Main courses were served without asking if the table was ready. The fries were cleared prematurely, even though they were still practically untouched on the table. This pattern repeated itself with dessert; here too, there was no coordination with the guests. Moreover, they were never asked if they were ready for the next course, which caused the pace of the meal to be unbalanced and led to lengthy wait times. Ultimately, the dinner lasted almost two and a half hours, which was completely inconsistent with the experience the restaurant aims to convey. The service was polite, but not attentive enough or tailored to the guest. The kitchen demonstrated technical mastery but lacked intensity, finesse, and consistency. The result was an experience that failed to live up to the expectations of a Michelin-starred restaurant, leaving one more disappointed than amazed.

Our praise for Bistro LOF (Local Organic Farm) speaks volumes about the spirit of this friendly and excellent restaurant: they use local, seasonal produce. The open kitchen adds an extra dimension to dining here. Dinner was delicious, the dessert cheeses well-chosen and carefully presented. And if the ambiance is also fantastic, your evening is complete. Be sure to visit the restroom—even if you don't need to—and marvel at the beautiful way this building has been restored: the mortise and tenon joints of the enormous beams, the large copper extractor hood in the kitchen, the white pizza oven. It's a joy to look at, to be here, and, as mentioned, to dine here. And if you can even sit outside... you're surrounded by greenery!

Yesterday, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch with a group of four, enjoying the surprise menu. The ambiance on the terrace was fantastic. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, the wine list was good and well-organized, and above all, the staff were very professional and well-trained. The fresh air from the new management team is clearly noticeable compared to the times we've dined here before.

This Bistro is recommended, despite being understaffed, we were warmly welcomed, enjoyed a pleasant atmosphere, and it is worth coming back.

LOF is an attractive and spacious restaurant deep in the woods, where you can enjoy delicious and unique food. In good weather, you can dine outside. It's spacious enough for a group, for example.

We ate here last night because we always used to go to Sal do Mar. We chose the four-course surprise menu and everything was delicious. The prawn tartare and the brook trout were especially delicious. Thank you, Zoe, Ralph, and the rest of the team!

A stopover on the sunny terrace on a Saturday afternoon in spring is no punishment.

Nice restaurant. The table layout took some getting used to, but it was nicely decorated. The building is beautiful and you park right next to it. Once inside through the large door we were kindly received. We had a delicious meal. At the end of the evening the service became a bit messier. Definitely worth enjoying here. They also have a very nice large terrace and delicious drinks and lunch dishes.

Bistro LOF is the simpler sister of Parc Broekhuizen. But simple is not the right word: here too you can enjoy culinary delights. With a beautiful terrace with a view over the garden, or inside the beautifully decorated pavilion, you can spend an afternoon or evening here!

After we were very pleased with the perfect lunch in early spring, we now enjoyed the Christmas dinner for lunch. Beautiful matching wines. Dietary requirements are well taken into account. Service friendly and attentive. Starworthy

Voorheen al jaren vaker 3 gangen lunch of diner gedaan. Was altijd heel goed en gezellig. Maar wat een matige lunch dit keer. Het voorgerecht had geen smaak. Het hoofdgerecht, kabeljauw te lang door gegaard en daardoor droog en korrelig en gegeten met een kartel vleesmes. Bij binnenkomst bestek laten vervangen was vies. Lang met een leeg wijnglas en alles duurde veel te lang. Elk uur een gerecht. Het was maar half vol en de gezelligheid was er niet. Wat jammer, wat jammer.

Het vertrek van chef-kok Ewout is merkbaar. Prijs is gelijk gebleven, maar helaas is de kwaliteit enorm afgenomen. De verfijnde smaak van de gerechten die wij gewend waren is totaal verdwenen. Heel erg jammer.

By chance we passed Bistro LOF and decided to have a drink here. The first impression upon entering was fine, and we looked for a place to sit. Unfortunately, the atmosphere quickly changed due to a comment from the owner, who made an awkward joke. This made us not really feel welcome. It felt a bit like we weren't really supposed to be here, while we were looking for a place to quietly enjoy ourselves. The ambiance did not seem inviting for a longer stay, which was a shame as we would have liked to sit a little longer. Overall, our experience was disappointing, and we hope the hospitality improves in the future.

We zijn hier al vaak geweest en eten is altijd heerlijk maar vandaag was de bediening echt niet oké. Restaurant zat nog niet voor de helft vol. Tafels niet uitgeruimd voordat volgende gerecht kwam. Lege glazen blijven staan. Alles duurt veel te lang. Geen drankjes gevraagd. Vergeten dat we al aanbetaald hebben etc. Niet wat we gewend zijn van LOF

Delicious food and nice service!

Op 2e kerstdag luncharrangement gedaan. Heerlijk 4 gangen menu, maar op het toetje na karige porties, vlees/vis, zonder bijgerechten, behalve wat fijne smaakjes erbij op het bord.Kerstsfeer in de grote zijruimte kon ook wat meer. Prijs-kwaliteit verhouding (200€ voor 2 personen) niet echt in orde voor een lunch.

Heerlijk kerstmenu genoten als lunch met bijpassende wijnen. Fijne bediening en perfect inspelen op dieetwensen. Zeker aan te raden op mooie locatie.

What a wonderful spot! After dinner we took a walk in the neighborhood, which is highly recommended because Lof is surrounded by nature. The food? Good. Tasty. Clearly good products used. The service gets 1 star less from me, but that has more to do with 1 person who has less experience than the rest and therefore stands out a bit. Made some small mistakes. Certainly not a problem, but room for slight improvement. But above all, be surprised. Oh yes, I also thought the decor was very tasteful.

Vooraf aangegeven vanwege een speciale gelegenheid. Is totaal geen aandacht aan besteed. Jammer. De charcuterie besteld echter zonder bestek. Bestek gebruikt wat er lag maar moesten deze ook voor het hoofdgerecht gebruiken. Plateau charcuterie te laat weggehaald, we zelf voor de ruimte te zorgen. Prima gegeten, mooi opgediend. Lauwe koffie geserveerd, werd per omgaande gecorrigeerd. Aanduiding waar jassen en toilet zijn ontbreken.

Heerlijk eten, vriendelijke bediening, borden prachtig opgemaakt en de sfeer van het restaurant en de omgeving waarin het ligt zijn ook prachtig. Echt een aanrader!

Mooi restaurant, mooie ambiance en mooie kaart. Veel eigen gekweekte groente. Menu 3 gangen 57.50 euro. Ik was positief verrast over de kwaliteit en de presentatie van de gerechten. Eerder in Voltaire, het andere restaurant dat is bekroond met een ster, gegeten maar bistro Log beviel beter. Het enige punt van kritiek: het duurt eindeloos voordat je iets op je tafel hebt. Geklokt: tussen iedere gang zat een uur.

Coffee cup in a kind of earthenware cup. Nice, but you'll burn your hands. Where do you put the spoon? On the table then to. Service very young. Friendly and unobtrusive presence. You can stay the night. In the main building there is a hotel and a restaurant with a Michelin star. Oh yes, also winner of the Golden Ladle! We will definitely come back again!

Not worthy of Gault et Millau. The food was not refined but tasted good. The service left much to be desired. Empty glasses are not taken away, you have to pour wine yourself, etc.

Hier eerder geweest met wisselende ervaringen. Constante is de prachtige locatie. Maar als we voor een avondvullend diner gaan, gaan we naar Voltaire (waar we overigens nooit het idee hadden dat het lang duurde, zie mijn recensies daarover). We kiezen voor het driegangen menu. Maar pas 2 uur verder komt het hoofdgerecht. Normaal zouden we daarna geen dessert meer bestellen, maar ja die zat al in het menu. Dus dit duurt echt te lang voor leuk. Helaas ook net geen weer om op terras te zitten, maar dat kunnen we uiteraard Lof niet aanrekenen. Het eten zelf was trouwens prima, al is bijna EUR60 voor een driegangen diner behoorlijk aan de prijs. Maar begrijp dat je daarvoor ook dit prachtige landgoed moet onderhouden.

Na rondleiding over het landgoed en bezichtiging van het hoofdgebouw hadden we lunch in de bistro. Goede menukaart met heerlijke gerechten. Vriendelijke bediening. Mooi uitzicht.

Lunch with my wife. The food was really tasty, well prepared and beautifully presented. Steak tartare is cut by hand and served with a subtle dressing of mustard and truffle that does not overpower the flavor of the meat. The pickled salmon is prepared just as respectfully: the taste of the fish is left intact with almost Japanese respect and in the vegetable garnish all flavors can be tasted separately. It was lunch so no main course, straight to dessert. My cheese was nice and varied. The old Gouda cheese could have had a bit more character, but the other four were surprisingly tasty and all from the Netherlands - also nice. The panna cotta was sweet and rich, and the lavender ice cream perfectly perfumed - lavender can become unpleasantly overpowering but there was just the right amount of presence. Very, very tasty. In short: at Lof they know very well how things should taste. The ambiance and friendly staff complete the picture.

Very poor service on the terrace! First we had to wait a long time until someone finally spoke to us. Then it was all very clumsy: cold cappuccino, waiting a long time for the lunch menu and then having to go back and ask which sandwiches we could order. Long wait again. Ultimately ordered a cheese sandwich, which later turned out to be very small and we dared to ask for 9.75 euros. Once, but not again. Price/quality ratio completely out of balance.

I was there having lunch with my son for Mother's Day. The weather was lovely and we could sit on the cozy terrace. We first got bread with oil and salt. Then the starter which tasted very good. Then it took a very long time before we got the main course. That's the only downside. Because the food was delicious, beautifully prepared, the service was nice and personable and the atmosphere was good. The location is very rural and the park surrounding the bistro was more than worth a visit.

Het was heerlijk weer dus mochten we op het terras starten. Daarna een fijne plek in de serre en heerlijk gegeten. We hadden een driegangen diner, waarbij het voorgerecht per ongeluk verkeerd was doorgekomen, maar dat hinderde niet want het was iets dat we ook lustte en het was heerlijk. We komen hier vaak en graag. Alle keren heerlijk gegeten en de bediening is altijd vriendelijk.

Don't welcome, hang up your coat and be escorted out. No appetizers, or a spoon in between. And several carelessness during operation. Food quality was good. But price/quality ratio was not good, for these prices you can really expect more. We liked the location, building and atmosphere.

Our visit to this bistro was somewhat disappointing. The young staff does their best but is too inexperienced to provide service at a certain level. A more recurring problem in the Dutch catering industry. The starter was nice but the main course, the venison steak, was tough. A friendly solution was offered by offering dessert on behalf of the house, but all in all it was a disappointing dinner.

We were kindly welcomed upon arrival. Our table had plenty of space, so we could easily sit down and not notice any other guests. The 3 course menu was something to enjoy. Lots of flavors, but nothing overpowering. So absolutely fine. The seasonal mocktail is highly recommended if you have something to celebrate. In short, this restaurant is worth driving for!

Ate here on December 22. The food such as the tartare and seasonal garden were fine, otherwise really nothing special. Dutch steak was delicious, however. However, what really surprised us was the staff. We were served by a woman in skinny jeans who constantly fumbled over her words. She seemed very unsure of what she was doing and she didn't know much about the dishes. We really hope that this was a new employee because even for another restaurant that had been a more accessible catering industry, you would still have been better off putting an 18 year old girl here with a bit of enthusiasm and self-confidence than this girl. We think this is a shame because the restaurant itself is a very nice concept. By the way, we had ordered cheese boards for dessert, which were simply placed on the table by a boy without any explanation. We were still kind of waiting for something to be explained as this seemed normal to us if the cheeses are not on the menu and especially at a reasonably good and more expensive restaurant. Another thing I wanted to mention was the seasonal cocktail, we were told that this is created by the bar each time. I was expecting something kind of special since €13.50 for a mocktail is a lot (as expensive as the second most expensive cocktail) but what we got was a huge glass of apple juice with I think a little lemon juice had been thrown in it. . That's it! The interior of the restaurant itself is beautiful and the slightly older woman who received us at the door was very friendly, but in our opinion the other staff still needs a lot of work, which is a shame :(

Beautiful surroundings. Nice that the kitchen is in the restaurant. Casual atmosphere. Crockery with pieces missing. Service nice but not attentive. (We had to ask where our coats were.)

Geweldige plek, superlekker eten. Maar dat we EURO 6,00 moesten betalen voor 75 ml kraanwater dat vinden wij schandalig! We hebben wijn gedronken, gegeten en dan betalen voor water? Echt schandalig! Als je nu alleen water drinkt en verder niets bestelt, dan snap ik het nog. Maar bij het diner en wijn? Wij gaan hier nooit meer komen om deze reden.

A discovery, this restaurant was suggested to me by a friend. The food was beautifully presented and had a special taste. Had to get used to the atmosphere. It is a mixture of modern and chic. A wonderfully relaxing meal because you are not sitting so close together. Everything served was delicious. Main course duck and other farm chicken.

Disappointing, decent food let down by sloppy service. Was 2.5hours before we got to a main course, might have been ok if the slow wait times were acknowledged and we didn’t have to ask for literally everything - the menu, water, wine etc.

Very poor and unfriendly service. Quality of dishes not good, far too salty and not in balance. And after two hours of being told that the main course you ordered was no longer available, that's the worst! In short: both the kitchen staff and the service were severely substandard. People pretend a lot but are not realistic at all.

Heerlijke lunch op een prachtige locatie met vriendelijke bediening.

Mooie locatie, mooi ingericht. De kaart is redelijk eenvoudig met leuke gerechten. Er wordt lekker gekookt. Dus heel lekker gegeten. Jammer dat de bediening erg slecht was. Dingen vergeten, duurde lang en werden beetje lomp behandeld. Jammer van de ervaring/beleving.

Lekker gegeten. Een erg mooie ambiance. Beetje fris. Druk en veel lawaai. Goed maar niet uitzonderlijk. LOF is vergelijkbaar met de restaurants in Belgisch Limburg. De belgen staan culinair een treedje hoger.

Heerlijk gegeten, zomer, buiten op het terras. Mooie locatie, natuur en historie buiten, terwijl het binnen strak en minimalistisch is, maar toch heel sfeervol. Bediening was vriendelijk en vlot. Het eten was zeer goed. Gerechten die niet speciaal lijken (zalm als hoofdgerecht) maar met bijzondere smaakcombinaties en perfect gegaard. Aanrader.

Overall food is OK. Ravioli is very tasty. Farm chicken is a bit dissapointing.

Ik zat te eten en had geen ruimte voor andere indrukken dan de smaken in mijn mond. Iets met lokaal vlees, goddelijke zeeduivel en sympathieke mensen die ons eten deskundig introduceren en op tafel zetten. Geweldig. Heerlijk menu, lekkere wijn en mijn lief aan de overkant van de tafel. Het leven is goed.

Heerlijk gegeten met heerlijke wijn op een super locatie

Bistro LOF bevindt zich op een mooie locatie. Wij wilden daar ter gelegenheid van onze 70ste verjaardagen lunchen. Wij kregen een snackkaart en de wijnkaart bij aankomst. Wij hadden gedacht dat ze een uitgebreidere kaart zouden hebben, maar bestelden dan maar een charcuteriebord en een pizzetta. De pizzetta deed niet onder voor de gemiddelde pizzatent en de charcuterie kwam vers van de slager. De witte wijn was oké , maar de rode wijn, een tempranillo, had naast de op de kaart aangegeven smaken ook hints van aceton. Zo hoorde de wijn te smaken was het commentaar van de vriendelijke serveerster. Toen wij nog wat wilden bestellen, kregen wij de volledige menukaart. Dat was de policy van het restaurant, werd ons verteld, eerst de snackkaart geven, en als daar dan van besteld en gegeten was, daarna de menukaart. Bijzonder. Toen maar twee koffie besteld. Al met al was de schade voor vier glazen wijn, een pizza en wat vleeswaren 65 euro. Op de wc hing overigens een pamflet, waarop de directie aangaf naar personeel in de bediening te zoeken, waarbij enige ervaring geen vereiste is. Sja ….

Eten is te zout, en dat is niet de eerste keer. Jammer want op zich een mooie locatie en op papier een goed menu.

Heerlijk gegeten op het terras. Wat een fantastische medewerkers in de bediening en dan ook nog een een feestje op he bord. Hier gaan we vaker naar toe!

We dachten even koffie te drinken. Enigste wat ze er bij hadden was appeltaart. Dus dan maar appeltaart. Dit vond ik geen appeltaart maar een appelkoek. Ook was ie nog niet helemaal gaar van binnen. Koffie was prima . Locatie prachtig , bediening ook prima. Maar 17.50 euro voor 2 koffie met appeltaart vond ik voor deze appeltaart erg aan de hoge kant .

Heerlijk gegeten. Leuke en vriendelijke bediening. Vind de wijnen erg aan de prijs maar wel erg lekker. Zeker een aanrader.

Leuk restaurant in de prachtige omgeving van Park Broekhuizen. Vriendelijke ontvangst, lekkere borrel bites en leuke kaart. Met mooi weer kun je leuk eten op het terras.

We hebben hier nu een aantal keer gegeten en dit restaurant stelt niet teleur! Kwaliteit is constant en bediening erg vriendelijk. Prijs kwaliteit ook dik in orde. Een aanrader! Wij komen zeker weer terug.
