Bistrot Volte in Wijk 01 Sittard

Situated at the Urselinetuin in Sittard is this restaurant where you can sit quietly. Nearby you can find the old center of Sittard with its beautiful buildings that are located at the market.

Mooie locatie en een prachtig pand: in die zin dus een sfeervolle plek om een terrasje te doen. De prijzen voor 2 koffietjes daarentegen waren zeer duur en gewoon zoals je ze op menige plek tegenkomt.

Helaas een teleurstellende ervaring. Bediening is goed. De plek uitstekend. Het eten duurde erg lang en werd fantasieloos opgediend. Aspergediner: soep lekker. Hoofdgerecht diamanthaas taai, asperges keihard. Dessert dezelfde keiharde asperges in een verdere lekkere ijs/saus combi. Ook behoorlijk aan de prijs.

We were there with friends and everyone paid their bill but the staff charged more than the reality. Credit note impossible and no one from management got back to me even though left contact. I was fair but the Bistrot Volte is not fair! Never again though I am in Sittard often.

March 26, 2024: We were introduced to Bistrot Volte thanks to Social Deal. We received a friendly welcome in a beautiful location. Thanks to the clear menu, we quickly made a choice. The service was very friendly, and the kitchen staff prepared delicious dishes for us.

Gezellige ambiance in en op een prachtige locatie. Een smakelijk maal en vriendelijk personeel. Prijs - kwaliteit waardig.

Sittard is a wonderful city. Compact, everything there, in terms of shops plus catering, something for everyone. Walked around the city walls. You'll be ready within half an hour. See the city "the other way around". And you also learn something historically.

What a nice place to have a delicious drink or snack. And what a wonderful hostess, friendliness and hospitality are at the top. We will definitely come back.

Unfortunately (but probably due to staff shortages) English speaking staff. Don't take empty glasses in between... don't light the candle (I had it ready). Had to wait an hour for dessert (can happen and was solved well by a coffee from home). Acoustics not nice Light wasn't nice where we were Food a 7, the syrup with the vitello was very tasty. Diamond hare good Octopus spaghetti a small enough Dessert good

The carpaccio salad was sublime. Beautiful setting and friendly service.

Asperges tijd dus voor het asperge menu gekozen. 4 gangen 49,50. Voorgerecht lijkt oubollig met ham en asperges maar ze hebben het in een modern jasje gestoken. Het gerecht had alleen weinig smaak. De aspergesoep was prima. Het hoofdgerecht met 2 bereidingen van Livar was op zich prima maar er zat een zure saus bij. Dat maakte het niet lekker. Het nagerecht met asperges was het hoogtepunt van de avond. Echt bijzonder en heel erg lekker. De bediening was vriendelijk maar voegde verder weinig toe. Toch relatief weinig ervaring ben ik bang. Bij het afrekenen waren ze 2/3 van de factuur vergeten. Het had een goedkope avond kunnen zijn maar dat hebben we maar niet gedaan en netjes aangegeven. De locatie is mooi maar het was toch niet heel sfeervol hoewel ik niet goed kan aangeven waarom niet. De tafeltjes staan misschien wat ver uit elkaar. Wel veel privacy maar minder sfeer.

Not a very extensive menu. The quality is very good. Nice service. The bistro is part of Merici and is located in an old modernized complex. Hence the vaulted ceilings in the bistro.

Ordered two normal cups of coffee, with an emphasis on cups. You pay €4.00 for a mini cup (+/- 150 ml) of coffee with a rock-hard spice nut. The coffee itself tastes good, but the price is less attractive. The atmosphere inside is very cold and the staff comes across as a bit too businesslike..

2 course menu Social deal was very good and very neatly served, 👌 top service and very nice staff, only the dish was very little, fine for children and women, but not for adult men 😀

Wonderfully quiet place with a beautiful view of one of the gardens. Friendly service. We ate well, and the bread was surprisingly tasty. Coffee would have been better if it didn't come from a machine. Nice salsa music in the background too, it still feels a bit summery in this late summer!

Good food but quite pricey. (Normal soft drinks e.g. €4) nice quiet location but will not return soon due to price/quality.

We received a voucher through Social Deal for a starter and a main course. Food is of quality and was delicious. However, the price is on the high side and the portions are not large. We really missed some fries or bread. You could order extra bread, but I would rather expect it to be included with a dish. I think if they keep the prices, more food should be served. Staff was friendly and we were served quickly.

My friend gave me a 2-course dinner here via social deal. Of course you expect a little less since you come via social deal. The food wasn't necessarily wow. I wouldn't eat there for the original price. What is very scandalous are the prices for drinks. A 0.2L glass of spa red is €4. Of course, no drinks menu on the table upon arrival. Furthermore, the staff was friendly and the location is also great. It's a shame that such prices are charged for this.

What a beautiful and quiet (still limited discovered) place to have a really delicious meal. Very friendly service at the oldest place in Sittard, on the old city wall. Highly recommended in summer and winter🤓

Terrace is beautifully situated, but some planks of the terrace are a bit far apart. So my 87-year-old father immediately sank his chair between 2 planks. "Yes, the shelves at this table are a bit far apart" (waiter). Maybe time to do something about this before someone falls? I thought it was a shame. Operation is completely fine. Bought a 2-course lunch via social deal. Soup beforehand was tasty, salad with smoked beets was tasty but very small/scanty. I was really missing a piece of bread, it was mentioned in the description, but I saw afterwards that it was not there on the menu. If I had only ordered the salad it would not have been enough food.

(Terrace experience only) Everything has been thought through: from chairs (Fermob?) to glasses & plates and more. The result is a modest kind of chic. The Ursuline nuns would have been proud!

We really enjoyed the four-course menu. Surprising flavors and combinations. An oriental touch flows through every dish, but we really liked it. Never had such delicious tuna wakame before. The Tom kha kai soup really refreshing taste. Small extras on each plate such as sesame cookies or roasted seeds also complete it. The service is very correct, no pushing, asking if we need to wait a while for the next course, etc.

Top location! Varied menu with vegetarian options. I had the pits with curry pulled chicken. Looked spectacular and tasted delicious.

Very nice place to sit. The tables are on the small side for comfortable dining. The menu is small and the choice is limited, especially in the bread dishes. This can be improved with little effort. Pricey but worth coming back

The terrace is nice and quite quiet! It took a while before 3 soft drinks were served... Fortunately this time the glasses were clean... Unfortunately still no food available around 4 p.m.

Now some time to share our experiences. The temptation to sit on the terrace of Volte is the uniquely quiet place. We were craving a nice latte and a piece of cheese cake. Our experience in summary. The cheese cake for 8.5 euros tasted like nothing. The latte was cold. They were advised to do better. Yes, they knew the latte was cold, but next week they received a new machine. Staff is anything but friendly. Volte is not recommended. People probably think that after the long lockdown you can make anything and don't have to deliver quality The first and last time for us. Good luck with it Volte....

Very poor service and very unfriendly staff

New bistobar from Merici, super location in the heart of Sittard, that says it all. Made a reservation at 4:30 PM for a snack and drink. That was possible! Upon arrival, the lunch menu appears to run until 4:00 PM and dinner from 6:00 PM. But we had made reservations for a bite to eat. Then just a mediocre drink for so long. At 6 p.m. we order a carpaccio to complement this. Because the kitchen is now open! Unfortunately, only shared dining and carpaccio dinner are not included, but are included in the lunch menu. And it ended at 4 p.m. Clearly there is no hospitality here! Then go and have a delicious meal elsewhere in beautiful Sittard!

It's ok, nice location for a terrace, but in terms of food, meh...

Wonderful place. The price is on the high side for what is served. That's too bad.

We sat here on the terrace today. The location is very nice in the ursuline garden. The behavior of the employees makes it seem as if you are not at an ordinary eatery, but at something exclusive. If they want to portray it that way, they will have to improve their service. Some points for improvement: The relaxed chairs on the terrace could use cushions. They are just too hard. The ice maker still needs to be adjusted (the ice was not clean). The toilet had run out of paper towels. These are all small things that I would overlook at a cafe on the market (e.g. De Buren), but here they present themselves as a more upscale place, so I also expect better service. The snack board was delicious by the way, and so was the Leffe Blond on tap.
