Bloem Eten & Drinken in Oostelijke Eilanden/Kadijken

The food is good, but everything is very expensive. A menu costs over €42...

We had made a reservation later, but it was no problem that we were a bit early. The food was very tasty and we certainly enjoyed it. We all had a different dish and the waiting time was not too long. We also found the staff very friendly and correct. The terrace across the street is also nice to sit in when the weather is good. However, you have to be a bit lucky with 'how quiet' it is. We were unlucky that loud Brits dived into the water, which sometimes made it difficult to hear each other. The owners of the restaurant can't do anything about this, of course, since it is a public space. The second half of our outing at Bloem was a lot more pleasant when the Brits had left and peace returned. Personally, we found the drinks menu a bit less, some 'standard soft drinks' but then from local productions or bio-cola would have been nice. Now they were quite specific flavors that are added to tap water. Not bad in itself, but less 'our thing'. So don't expect a standard soft drink.

We hadden later gereserveerd, maar was geen probleem dat we iets vroeger waren. Eten was heel lekker en hebben we zeker van genoten. We hadden allemaal een verschillend gerecht en op zich was de wachttijd niet te lang. Personeel vonden wij ook heel vriendelijk en correct. Het terrasje aan de overkant van de straat is ook leuk zitten bij goed weer. Wel moet je wat geluk hebben met 'hoe rustig' het is. Wij hadden de pech dat er luide Britten in het water doken waardoor je soms moeilijk elkaar kon verstaan. De uitbaters van het restaurant kunnen hier uiteraard niet aan doen gezien het publieke ruimte is. De tweede helft van ons uitje bij Bloem was een stuk aangenamer als de Britten vertrokken waren en de rust terugkeerde. Persoonlijk vonden we de drankenkaart iets minder, wat 'standaard frisdranken' maar dan van lokale producties of bio-cola hadden wel leuk geweest. Nu waren het vrij specifieke smaken die aan kraanwater toegevoegd worden. Op zich niet slecht, maar minder 'ons ding'. Verwacht je dus niet aan een standaard frisdrankje.

Fully vegan, gluten-free, and organic eatery. Tasty and nutritious quality dishes, with whole-food ingredients. The Roasted King Oyster Mushrooms was great and came with a cabbage roll filled with lentils and cashew nuts, atop a bed of fennel and parsnip mash. The Vegetable Pie was filled with mushrooms in a creamy tarragon sauce, alongside a pool of stir-fried long beans and cabbage in umami tamari gravy. There were also 3-course meals available. On the pricier side but would definitely recommend this eatery especially for the health-conscious and those with specific dietary needs! Located near the National Holocaust Museum.

I'm neither vegan nor gluten free, but my wife is gluten intolerant. I don't normally leave reviews but the food and service here were exceptional. Really delicious falafel dish and a really nice coconut soup dish. Menu is clearly labelled and they speak great English!

We ordered an option from the menu that consisted of bread and dipping sauces, and the waiter forgot. They put a “reserved” sign on the tables an hour before the reservation, so that no one sits down for a long time. We thought it was funny. The beer is good, but bottled, not drafted. We didn't look at their website or anything before we went. We were just walking, we liked the place and had a drink.

Nice atmosphere and friendly service

In a quite remote location, but the quality of the food and service are excellent. For anyone who is vegan or vegetarian OR take the opportunity to eat without meat, because this restaurant can surprise you with all the flavors that emerge in their dishes.

Was really good experience to come here (both having gluten and lactose allergy) to not have to ask what we can eat or not. The staff is really friendly and the food was amazing!

Food is very bad and place is more like a beer spot, it was also gluten free on the Gluten free app, but I was not impressed at all with the soup, it looked very bad. Woulden recommend 😥

A gluten free restaurant through and through. Just a delight. Personnel are warm and welcoming and the food is fresh and with dishes that creatively combine flavors. Low histamine foods on the menu are few, would love to see this improve.

Lovely team & service, tasty and creative dishes, wine was good, we had a lovely time, the pear cake at the end was warm and delicious. I will go back again… and the food was vegan 🌱👏

We were looking for a vegetarian restaurant, and haven’t been disappointed!! The service was great: friendly, taking time to advise you on the menu, checking if everything is good and going well. The menu is changing according to the season, and well thought. The inside is also very cozy so you immediately feel good.

One of the best GF meals I’ve had in Amsterdam in a long time. And the staff are brilliant and friendly. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was very chilled. Definitely going here again on my next visit to Amsterdam

The three of us had a delicious meal here last Saturday. Surprising dishes, beautifully presented, friendly service and very reasonable prices. Definitely a restaurant to come back to.

Verrassend lekkere menu’s en het eten wordt mooi gepresenteerd op de borden. Zelfs 1 van onze tafelgenoten, een echte vleeseter, gaf aan het vlees niet te missen. Er waren tijdens ons bezoek 2 serveersters aanwezig, waarvan de 1 haar werk gewoon goed deed, maar de ander nogal gedesinteresseerd was en als klap op de vuurpijl bij het toetje het bestek op tafel gooide. Na het betalen zagen we op de rekening dat er 3 drankjes te veel op onze rekening stond, vervelend en kan gebeuren. Gelukkig werd hier goed mee omgegaan en kregen we het geld voor de drankjes retour. Ook kregen we een verontschuldiging en zo hoort het ook natuurlijk.

Probably one of the best salads I have ever had. Highly recommend the pumpkin and shiitake mushrooms. The tofu was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. So good I decided to get a second one! Right on the canal and a quiet cozy street. Great service.

The menu is sort of confusing. You can choose a 3-course meal from many different pages, whatever you choose, for a set price? My friend and I ended up sharing a starter and choosing our own entrees. Scenic outdoor seating with the bridge and canal activity. Indoor space was small but with two floors of seating. Tasty food and it was fresh. Nice to know there’s a fully vegan restaurant in Oost that uses quality ingredients in a creative way.

Incredibly fresh and delicious flavors. No Alcohol gluten free beer with gazpacho was a delight in a hot afternoon.

As a gluten free celiac, I loved my dinner here (falafel salad) and the location and ambiance is good. Felt like a locals place, quiet neighborhood and friendly vibe. I also had the creme brûlée and woah, I licked the ramekin clean.

On a lovely sunny day, we wanted to get a coffee. They didn't do to-go, but when we indicated that we wanted to sit on the terrace for a while, we weren't allowed to. There was no table left, but we were not even allowed to try sharing a table with another guest. “They don't dare say no.” Arrogant attitude and very unfriendly. Too bad on such a beautiful sunny day.

Great vegan savoury options by the canal. Service was great, too. Walking distance from Rembrandt's house or the Botanical gardens, both also worth a visit!

I have to give them 5 stars. The food is always delicious, today I had the miso soup and taquitos. The taquitos were nicely spiced, and the cashew cream sauce was also tasty. The dishes are always both delicious and creative. Plus everything is vegan and gluten free, so I can order anything on the menu!

Delicious food in this picturesque "living room restaurant" with a nice sunny terrace on the water in one of the most beautiful places in Amsterdam! Everything on the extensive menu is plant-based and gluten-free (and organic too!). Very friendly service. We haven't eaten animals for 10 years now and we have been vegan for the last 5 years and we have been able to try various vegan restaurants. Bloem cooks at a high level with beautiful ingredients at reasonable prices. We can only give 5 stars for the price/quality ratio. We will eat here more often :-)

Delicious vegetarian and packed with flavor at Bloem! A safe haven for Ottolenghi fans. The small but fine menu has a few true delights such as the Blini starter, the falaffel main course and the homemade chocolates. The portions are decent, and the service is remarkably streamlined for what is a small team of chef and waitress. Be sure to take the three-course menu because you really want one of the desserts too.

Fantastic ALL VEGAN experience for lunch today. The facility is clean and warmly inviting. They take credit cards and there was no need for a reservation at lunch time. No wifi access was available.

Great vegetarian food and a charming beer menu

Gemoedelijke sfeer, creatief veganistisch eten en vriendelijk personeel. Met zijn tweeën hebben we hier erg lekker gegeten. Als voorgerecht hadden we de bietentartaar en groentepaté. Goede balans van smaken in beide gerechtjes. De zoete jam sluit bijvoorbeeld erg goed aan bij de hartige smaken van de paté. De enchilada als hoofdgerecht was ook top, lekkere bonencrème. De Indiase pannenkoekjes zijn ook aan te raden vanwege het creatieve gebruik van de groentjes. Als nagerecht hadden we de sticky appelcake en de chocobrownie. De chocoladebrownietaart vond ik zelf geslaagder dan de cake, omdat die tweede minder smaak had. Al met al een super ervaring en we komen er zeker terug!

Great place! We’ve been here to celebrate our moving and everything was great! The atmosphere was so cozy, perfect for winter. We also really enjoyed the playlist (whoever is in charge of it, well done). The food was tasteful and really well made as well. We loved the place and hope to come back in the future!

The menu looked better than the taste. It was a mixture of all kind of ingredients and all were overcooked an tastless. we have been there two and half hours and waited 45 min for our dinner and 30 minutes or our dessert. So I won't recommend this restaurant to nobody. Tip for the chef short the cookingtime for your vegetables, Don,t put to many ingredients together. The restaurant is with a few people soon stuffy and very warm. And please serve also ordinary milk beside oat milk.

Delicious vegan food, showing how good European vegan food isn’t hard if you have the (exceptional) skills, ingredients, knowledge and creativity. ;-) (Sadly, I do not which made it a treat to visit). I had the kimchi / shawarma Others had the vegan chilli, and the egg sandwich and I’ve forgotten the last. Slightly out of the way but we also enjoyed the view out of the window into the canal.

Gezellig plekje aan het water, snelle service. Aardig kleine kaart maar als nog voor ieder wat wils. Compleet veilig voor mensen die geen gluten, melk, ei, vlees, etc. eten voor een extreme notenallergie zou dit waarschijnlijk niet perfect zijn maar als je tegen een klein beetje sporen kan, is dit ook een echte aanrader. Dit restaurantje is een bewijs dat vegan en glutenvrij ook lekker kunnen zijn.

Non posso che fare una recensione più che positiva! Cibo davvero buono, sapori intensi, locale piccolo e davvero bello accogliente e soprattutto…tutto senza glutine! Un paradiso per i celiaci.

I got a ginger mint tea and it was lovely. And I also felt like there was a lot of flavor left in the ginger and mint so I asked if they could fill the cup with more hot water. I was told this was the same price as a new tea so I might as well get that. I said I’d rather not and left. If they had simply given me hot water I would come back get tea and try a dessert. Maybe I’d bring friends and get a meal. But the fact that they are vegan (pro sustainability) yet have this bizarre scarcity around hot water makes me feel sad and thus I won’t want to come back.

I came to this place as I saw the good reviews and it was posted that the the foods and drinks are organic. The drinks menu wad like a bar drinks menu, no smoothies or juice, not organic at all! I came at 16.00, the owner told that the kitchen is closed, though the couple next to me ordered the dessert. The owner was very rood, not friendly at all, he told not to trust the menu from the google maps, saying the menu is from 3 years old😀 Don’t recommend at all!

Één leuke plaats om iets veganistische of vegetarisch gerecht te eten

Leuke locatie aan de gracht, met vriendelijke medewerkers en een uitgebreide veganistische kaart voor lunch en diner. Wij hadden als lunch de sandwich (glutenvrij en perfect geroosterd) met geroosterde groente.

Nous avons seulement bu un verre sur la terrasse. Très calme et reposant. La serveuse est aux petits oignons.

Got a big lunch here while chatting with a friend. Tasty food, good service, great view. Then I grabbed my laptop to show my friend something I had written and a waiter came up and loudly said, “we are a no laptop space, put it away!” No way to treat your customers. Avoid this place.

Restaurante 100% vegano y sin gluten. Da total confianza, en especial para celíacos. La carta en sencilla pero muy nutritiva. Está muy cerca del Jardín Botánico y, a pesar de estar en el centro, se está mucho más tranquilo y con vistas a un canal.
