So good we went twice on a 4-day trip! The organic menu is outstanding — fresh, thoughtful dishes with lovely touches like their apple and tarragon jam compote made from produce grown in their own garden. The young lady serving us was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially when explaining the menu and teas. The earthy, rustic interior adds to the charm, and despite the open kitchen the space stays calm and peaceful. The loose-leaf tea selection is a real highlight. Highly recommend Gartine!

Delicious food and very fast service. Reservations are recommended as it's a small restaurant. Eggs Benedict is highly recommended. Salmon can be added, but it's not essential. The velvety chocolate cake was divine. Reasonably priced. €5.75 for a large pot of tea is very reasonable. The chai latte is also €5.75, but you get a large glass. Recommended if you're in the area.

I had brunch at Gartine in Amsterdam, and it was honestly one of the best brunch experiences I’ve ever had! I ordered the eggs benedict and pancakes, and both were absolutely perfect — full of flavour, beautifully presented, and made with real care. The atmosphere is cozy and peaceful, with a lovely charm that makes you feel at home. The service was friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. If you’re in Amsterdam and love good food, Gartine is a must-visit!

Excellent little spot, had the French toast and my only regret is that the bread was so small. Absolutely phenomenal. This is a very small spot, best for 2 people, there is a table on the 2nd floor that fits 4 but I would recommend making a reservation if you want to bring that many people.

Went there for lunch with a friend. She found them through a very old monthly magazine called "Jan" and also noticed that she'd had one of their cookbooks for a while. We had a delicious celeriac salad.

Nice restaurant, but the service is rushed and forgets your requests. Five of us were there for lunch. The parsnip soup was delicious, but the sourdough bread was very hard, too hard for the other diners. It was also quite noisy and cold if you're sitting near the door.

Overall, it's rather disappointing. The portions are small and expensive, the coffees have little flavor, and the place is sad and dark. They don't take cards, and it's not advertised anywhere. I had to withdraw money with a 4 euro fee. The waitress wouldn't let us withdraw without leaving an ID card. Fortunately, after a lot of negotiation, the owner offered us the coffees, which reimbursed the fees.

We had really lovely breakfast at Gartine. The staff were super friendly and the food super tasty. It is a bit crammed inside and tables are quite close together but didnt take away from the lovely meal. We managed to get a table without booking.

High quality, tasty eggs benedict with some interesting flavours. The cappuccino would have been best served in a larger cup as it was very small and the table next to us did have a large cup but definitely recommend for brunch.

After reading the positive reviews about the fresh, organic breakfasts at Gartine we were keen to try. The eggs benedict was tasty, although the eggs were a little under done. I had a huge cup of tea and asked for a little hot water to add to the tea while I enjoyed a cake following the breakfast. However, I was told I could not have boiling water and must only purchase another cup of tea. I think the staff should prioritise customer comfort rather than trying to maximise our spending, especially since we had already ordered a desert.

The food is delicious, they cook it from veggies collected in the garden. Quality is great! I liked they cook quite fast and there are enough of vegetarian dishes in the menu. They have only a few tables so it’s better to book in advance. Grapefruit and orange juice is tasty!

It had just the right amount of heat, and the homemade naan was fluffy and warm. The portion was more than enough, and I even had leftovers for the next day. For the price, the quality is unbeatable. Such a small and charming café! If you're in Amsterdam, you absolutely have to stop by. We were lucky and got a seat right away. If you want to be on the safe side, make a reservation! Lovely place, food is great and healthy. But wouldn’t recommend the French toast/ doesn’t work in healthy. It feels like a family run business, the cook/mum is a bit on the more aggressive side, came out of the kitchen when they brought us something that we didn’t order and argued with us. Still highly recommend but make sure to reserve a table!

We came here for brunch today and it’s a solid 10/10. We had the most delicious scrambled eggs on home made sourdough with salad. The ingredients were fresh and perfect. The dressing on the farm fresh salad was stellar. And the coffee was great too. Staff were also fabulous. Can’t recommend highly enough.

I went here for breakfast early in the morning at nine o'clock. The people were friendly, the restaurant was very nicely decorated and the soft talk of both the staff and the guests was nice in the morning. I had a very nicely prepared scrambled egg on a bread that was easy to cut, rare these days!

Unexpected, authentic, small lunch spot right in the center. It is well hidden but is absolutely worth it: friendly, Dutch (!) staff and original + tasty dishes at a very reasonable price. It is quite dark there and when we were there it was a bit stuffy due to the heat. Don't forget to make a reservation either. Highly recommended!

Be sure to book in advance, especially if you plan to come before opening (9-30). It's a pity that they open so late and are not open all days. However, the breakfasts there are excellent, everything is very, very tasty, the quality of the products is excellent and the dishes are prepared perfectly every day (we had breakfast here three days in a row). Attentive and friendly service.
