Just what I needed after being stuck in traffic on Kalverstraat with two young kids: the Stadpaleis, a quiet spot surrounded by greenery, relaxed and informal. Delicious lentil soup; both the kids unexpectedly ate it right in front of me. A chance to recharge before we rejoin the hustle and bustle.

The place is cute and charming but the food and the service is a big NO to me. We had to wait for such a long time just for couple of burgers and when the burgers arrived it was not even properly cooked… the inside is cute but does not seems clean at all, we really hadn’t a good time here and not sure we will come back.

After 30 minutes of ordering 3 burgers we are told that they have no more burgers. Then ordered again, food was NOT good. Offered water after bringing the food and it took 15 minutes (almost finished the food) while it was super quiet.

I came here twice just because I loved the vibe. It's an old police station, inside is tiny, they serve sandwiches and drinks, and there is a very cosy atmosphere because of the pot bellied stove in the middle of the room. Outside there is ample seating, with umbrellas, and a green area around it. Well worth a visit.

It was the first place we visited when we arrived in Amsterdam (it is in front of our hotel) and we were delighted. We were served by a very nice guy (he looked like Howl from Howl's Moving Castle) and we ordered two lattes, a chocolate muffin and a blueberry muffin. Everything is homemade and delicious, you can see how natural the product is. To highlight the peculiar decoration, the cozy interior and the fact that the exterior, in addition to being beautiful, has blankets to keep you warm.

Nice building in a great location and nice terrace. However: A minimal amount of espresso, really very little. One of the teacups was dirty. You order mint tea and get ginger tea. The blueberry muffins were dry and crumbly. The flat white, on the other hand, was very tasty.

Small city cafe, here you can eat and drink in peace and quiet, without the crowds. That's good, the atmosphere with the used things and dishes, everything is not my thing. Of course it's just my opinion. By the way, it has been mentioned several times here that the solution with the green street solution is a good one, because there is far too much stone and pavement, even in Amsterdam.

I had a kimchi toast and let me tell you, I was left speechless. The taste combination of kimchi, cheese, spinach and carrots was out of this world. I loved it!! I also had a kombucha and it was lovely as well. The whole place gives of a very cozy and chill vibe, despite being quite close to the more crowded centre of Amsterdam. They have a lot of tables outside, which were amazing to sit at in the summer.

In the middle of a street - 😉a former street that has now been planted, only the tram still winds its way. A role model: like this!! Inner cities are becoming quieter😍. Extremely comfortable to sit there. Small café with charm. Also for sitting outside. What the menu has to offer is delicious. I'll be back soon ❣️☕️

A quiet, charming, casual place, you can eat outdoors. The food was delicious, but quite specific, the burgers were difficult to eat with cutlery due to their hardness. There is no sink in the bathroom.

Incredibly good vibes all around. The staff was especially nice and in a good mood that was very contagious, dancing around in their little hut while preparing our coffees. Their recommendation to try the apple pie with whipped cream was much appreciated. The place has a very laid-back, young and hip atmosphere to it which I definitely enjoyed. Highly recommend, I will come back for sure!

A great place to have your cappuccino (the best we've had in the area) and something to snack at mid-morning. To be relaxed and take a break from the endless walks around Amsterdam. The waiter very nice and friendly.

Dear people, this has really become a beautiful place because a lot of greenery has been 'worked' on and it is located in the middle of the old center of Amsterdam! Well worth it, nice and quiet, authentic building, friendly atmosphere. I still remember the old situation, just tram rails and horns..., what progress...;) So take a look there!💕

Great funky little place just off the main drag, small, but lovely selection of eats, (including a good few Toastables😂, (toasties)) Would defo visit again, just don't ask for milk with your tea, as you'll be thought of as English!! (not best, especially if your a Scot!! 😂🤣😂 10/10 for comedy.

Amazingly good food. This is a very small place and if you have the time to sit, relax and enjoy quality food then stop here. Staff is very nice but it did take a while to get service.

The place is very nice but we stayed there for around 15 minutes and no one got our order! So we decided not to order and went. I think service needs a lot of improvement

We wanted to order so we went to at the counter. They said it is not possible to take orders there and we have to sit at the table. We then waited over 10 minutes and tried multiple times to ask for a order. But no one came to us. In the end after over 10 minutes we left the place. No respect for the customer.

Wat een parel. Heerlijk warm als je binnenkomt door het houtkacheltje waar banken omheen staan. Het is niet ruim. Je voelt je er direct welkom en het voelt zelfs een beetje als thuiskomen. We hadden de linzensoep en een tosti. Heerlijk niet het standaard tostibrood waar je soms je tandvlees mee aan diggelen helpt maar heerlijk brood. Ook de soep was heel lekker. Er stond een enorme lieverd in de bediening. Voor mij de parel van Amsterdam. Wanneer ik weer in Amsterdam ben kom ik zeker terug.

I also totally agree with Francisco Pina's opinion, we ate inside around a wood stove and it was very pleasant. There were 9 of us and we all left delighted. We were also lucky and due to the time we were practically alone and were served quickly. We will return when we go to Amsterdam again. Ah! They don't serve alcohol.

Today I received some very bad news and the boys at the city palace helped me so courteously and sweetly by immediately giving me water, tissues and coffee. This warmth is an unprecedented service! Phenomenal and above all because it turned out that the restaurant was already closed and she didn't want me to pay for my coffee at all. Thank you dear guys from the city palace! You made my difficult time a little more bearable.

Coziest little café house in the center of Amsterdam! I loved the wood interior that makes you feel hugged. The coffee was super tasteful. We didn't have food there, but everything looked really good. Definitely the best place to scape from the touristic cafés in the center.

Great spot in the city center of Amsterdam. The interior is very cute, tiny and I guess you can say cozy. There is definitely more space outside on the terrace. A nice place to enjoy a nice drink and something to eat while enjoying the surroundings.

Freundliches Personal, tolles Location, leckere Kleinigkeiten zum Essen. Genau richtig, wenn man durch die Stadt gestreift ist und eine kleine Pause und kleine Stärkung braucht.

Un lieu magnifique au coeur du centre ville dans un parc en forme d'îlot, découvrez leur cuisine excellente, la soupe d'hivers est parfaite le goût est incroyable. Leur sandwich poulet est juste parfait. Un service et un accueil chaleureux je recommande vivement ce bout de paradis.

I had wanted to try this place for a long time, and I am absolutely satisfied! Right in the city center you find this cute little house, with outdoor seatings, surrounded by green. I had the goat cheese toast and the green smoothie - perfect for a light, fresh and quick lunch. I will come again.

Just wanted to show love for this amazing cafe, it is so sweet in there the service was amazing my favourite touch was that they had a young boxer dog inside to say hello to when paying. I would 100% recommend visiting this establishment it is wonderful, they even gave our drink on the house for delays although we didn’t even wait that long just to show how much they care for the costumers!

Arrived in Amsterdam after 36 hours of travel to get there and stumbled across this on our first morning wandering the city. The service was excellent and we ordered a range of the toasties for our family, with every one amazing! Also ordered coffee's which were delicious. Only slight issue was timing of the food coming out being a little slow but with only 1 person working hard and a busy day, not an issue if you aren't in a rush (and you shouldn't be because the location is just beautiful) 😊

Such a cute litle place, and the service is so nice! I loved it, like a place you would not expect to exist just in the midle of the cross way. Coffee was very cheap, just 1 euro for a espresso, so if you feel like having a small break from you Amsterdam walking, you should stop there and have a coffee before start exploring again. ❤️
