We went there for lunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was delicious, the selection was great, and the view was especially fantastic.

If you're in Amsterdam, you absolutely have to check out Blue Amsterdam. I stumbled upon it recently and it’s become an instant favorite. First off, the cocktails are seriously good—I was really impressed by the quality. But honestly, it’s the panoramic view that steals the show; it’s easily one of the best spots in the city to just sit back and take it all in. The staff are lovely too, super friendly and make you feel right at home. Just a heads-up: since the place is pretty much made of glass, it can get a bit toasty when the sun is out! It’s worth grabbing a drink slightly away from the windows if it's a hot day, but honestly, it’s such a cool space that it doesn’t even matter. Definitely worth a visit!

Perfect spot to see almost all of Amsterdam. Very quiet on weekday mornings, so you can take your time to enjoy the view. Often a bit busier on weekends and in the afternoons. Great food and great coffee! Definitely recommended!

Wow!!! We had no reservations and it was lunch time. There were six of us and every table is a window seat. It looked like a full house, but we didn't feel rushed and were able to relax and enjoy the view. The kitchen is above or below, I don't remember now. But I know there was a food elevator that was very busy. Beautiful presentation and amazing taste. I'm still thinking about this meal weeks later. I would be a regular here if I lived in Amsterdam. :) p.s. I don't remember the cost but I remembered it seemed very reasonable, it was in July 2026.

Food is not great.. views are amazing and walk-ins are possible, which is not super common on a Sunday in Amsterdam.

One of the few panoramic views in central Amsterdam with free access, this café is located on the top floor of a shopping center. It offers 360-degree panoramic views of all of Amsterdam through floor-to-ceiling glass. Prices aren't as high as you'd expect. You can sit comfortably with a view of the sights and enjoy a coffee. We visited on a Thursday evening and saw no lines, with plenty of empty seats. Sunset viewing is recommended, but given that the café closes at 6:30 PM, it might be difficult to see in the summer. The coffee is delicious, the waiters are pleasant, and the view is fantastic.

A little late, but I couldn't miss the chance to thank the team at Blue Amsterdam. I visited in September 2025 while traveling to Canada during a very difficult time in my life. The food was amazing, the service was excellent, and the panoramic views of Amsterdam made the experience even more special. A special thank you to Sebastian for welcoming us so warmly, recommending dishes that perfectly matched our tastes, and even gifting me a small souvenir. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the experience even more memorable. That visit truly made my day and is one of the reasons I fell in love with Amsterdam. I can't wait to come back!

Blue Amsterdam is absolutely worth visiting. The panoramic views over the city are incredible, and it’s a great place to slow down and take in Amsterdam from above. I stopped in for a drink and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere—it never felt rushed despite being a popular spot. I had ordered a lemonade without mint. It came with mint. When I pointed this out, he went to the kitchen, removed the mint, and served it again. No consideration for cross-contamination.

Everything was fine: food, service and atmosphere.

Lovely place to rest after shopping. The service is friendly and fast. The view is very nice; from above you can spot the famous landmarks. However, your glasses must remain full; there is no time to linger, otherwise your table will be cleared immediately.

We ordered the pulled chicken sandwich, the Dutch 2 coquette, apple pie, coffee and ginger ale. All dishes were good and we enjoyed the food. Service staff is attentive and friendly.

Terrible service with great views. As an Asian American in an inter-racial relationship who tries very hard to give others grace and look the other way when being slighted, we received the worst service in a very long time. We were excited since the food looked good but do yourself a favor and go back downstairs to eat at Calf & Bloom. Service in Europe is different than America. We get it. Whereas actively being ignored is rude and a micro aggression. Upon entering the third floor, we were warmly greeted by the host and welcomed to sit in one of two available tables. My partner and I sat by the window and reviewed the menu. Meanwhile the waiter was able to close the table's tab directly next to us (less than one foot away), collect the order for two tables seated after us, and provide the same tables with their drinks. We were never greeted by the waiter, my partner said he noticed the waiter looked at us multiple times, he made eye contact with the waiter a few times, and yet we were never acknowledged. After waiting 15 minutes at our table without ever being acknowledged we decided to leave. The elevator is only four feet away from the waiter's section. I am not exaggerating - I have worked in the service industry and understand when I am being ignored. As we were waiting for the elevator, our waiter walked by us three times. Not once did he acknowledge our presence nor did he apologize for being busy and unable to approach us.

Even the ride up in the glass elevator is an experience in itself. The ambiance is modern, bright, and wonderfully relaxed despite its central location. The café also impresses with its culinary offerings: the selection of food and drinks is excellent, the coffee is delicious, and the dishes are fresh and incredibly tasty. There are also great options for vegetarians. During our visit, the service was incredibly friendly, attentive, and extremely fast. Everything here is just right – the food, the value for money, and of course, the unbeatable view. Nice place for a friendly meeting with friends. No one rushes you with orders, and I really value this calm atmosphere. The café has two floors. The second floor was less crowded and a bit cooler (great for the famous 31-degree summer in Amsterdam). Also, nice view! About the food: we tried something simple — coffee (iced latte and purple hot latte). Both were nice, nothing special, just solid and pleasant. We also tried their “best apple pie”. And yes — it is really tasty. You get a lot of apple (90%+) and very little dough (compared to another "best apple pie" place, Winkel 43, where it’s more balanced, like 60% apple and 40% pastry (closer to cookie crunchy type) and the portion is bigger for a bit smaller price). Although prices are a bit high for the portion size (imho), I understand you pay more for the vibe than just the food. There was also an awkward moment when I spilled my drink. The staff reacted very quickly — they cleaned everything, checked if I was okay, and replaced the drink. That’s really great service. Thank you! I definitely recommend this place and will come back again.

A great place: stunning view, beautiful setting, friendly atmosphere, good food. It's a bit pricey (€7.50 for a bottle of water, €22 for a main course, €15 for cocktails) but for the view, it might be worth it.

We were in the city for a few days, and had a nice breakfast / brunch here, really tasty reasonably priced food & drinks, with very friendly & helpful staff and the place has great views over the city, so it's well worth a visit

A great view, nice location. Nice interior organization creating a very good atmosphere But the coffee was weak made ; there was almost no foam on my cappuccino. Maybe 1 mm of foam on the cappuccino, which is practically the opposite of a cappuccino, and it was prepared like a regular home espresso machine. The croissant was not elegantly presented, the butter was in the packaging. It's also strange that the staff wouldn't miss a simple order in Dutch, After all…Amsterdam It’s still Dutch. It's not in this case .

Roof top bar with good view in the heart of the city to enjoy time in the sun. Note most of the days it is open till 18:30, so it is a place more for brunch/lunch and drinks, with very reasonable price.

I went out for a nice day with my father. First, we had to climb a lot of stairs because there was no elevator. When we sat down, there was nothing to eat except delicious fries, but the main course was unavailable, along with everything else. The waiter came to ask when we were leaving after we had been sitting for 20 minutes. Truly disgusting.

We had coffee with great views of the city at a reasonable price. You have to take the inclined elevator up (it's quite interesting). You can also eat there. The service is surprisingly friendly considering how touristy it is.

Tucked away on the top floor of a shopping center, Blue Amsterdam is a bit tricky to find at first, but just take the elevator up to the 3rd floor and you’re in for a treat. I stopped by for a late lunch around 3:00 PM, and it was nice to find a spot still offering full service at that hour.I wish the signage outside was a bit more obvious, though maybe that’s part of the charm. The vibe is relaxed with beautiful city views, making it a great daytime hangout. There’s also an upper level (I only went upstairs to use the restroom), but it looked just as inviting. Come to think of it, something to consider if you have mobility issues. Service really stood out. Our server was incredibly friendly, he gave great cocktail recommendations for my birthday, and made the whole experience even better. I tried the first drink on the menu made with pandan liqueur, and it was honestly one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had (I ordered two!). The food was solid, and overall the experience was lovely. I’d definitely come back, especially curious to see what the ambiance is like in the evening. Feels like it would make a great date spot. Just keep in mind it may get busy during peak lunch hours, so calling ahead isn’t a bad idea.

Food was good and staff was very welcoming. It’s a family friendly place. Went with our dog and baby- they have a kid’s menu, baby changing facility and high chairs. They even had pencil colours and colouring paper to keep our little one busy.

We had an absolutely fantastic time eating here. Everyone who worked here was so welcoming - shout-outs to Celia and Sebastian, who made us feel like family. The food was delicious, with lots of variety on the menu, and the view was spectacular. We went there twice in one week during our trip, and we can’t wait to go back!

Went there accidentally to get some hot drinks. The stuff was friendly, but a bit relaxed - waited for give the order about 15minutes (there were not a lot of people). The view is nice, especially in the evening. We took a cappuccino ☕️, hot chocolate (but it was note like cocoa drink) and a cocktail 🍹Also tested “the best apple pie in the city” - a lot of apples in it. I would say it is average, my wife liked it but definitely not “the best”. The music was calm and relaxing, nice lighting and candles on tables create cozy atmosphere. Recommend to visit for a view and atmosphere 😊

The ambiance is okay, but the food isn't delicious, and the drinks are exorbitantly expensive. It's better to go there, have one coffee, and stay for the view until sunset.

Staff are not friendly, I came there about to approach one staff but ended up being stared at, and most of their staff doesn't have a good command at English, that turned out rude when they communicate with guests.

This is a must on your to-do list in Amsterdam. This wonderful place is located in a former jail, which was converted into a shopping center after a renovation in 2017. You have to take the elevator to the top floor, where you’ll get the most amazing views of the city. Since the buildings are relatively low, you can clearly see the main landmarks such as the Royal Palace, the Rijksmuseum, Centraal Station, and several church bell towers. The staff is also very kind. We were very lucky because one of the waitresses was from Latin America, so we were able to speak Spanish with her. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great view and decent food, the service is friendly but good luck in finding a table and asking somebody for it. The staff is not very organised but the view is very very good, especially from some sides. The food is pricey as expected but not outrageous, the quality is quite good overall.
