The restaurant is currently renovating. Nevertheless service was attentive and the food was tasty. Only remark was the vegetarian dish (pictured) was terrible, so not a great place to take your vegan/vegetarian friends.

This was the best family Christmas dinner ever. The service was very friendly and food tasted fantastic through our three course meal. It was quite busy in the restaurant but from the manager to the waitresses and waiters, everyone still managed to serve drinks and food in an orderly and smiley manner. We were recommended some coffee and dutch traditional desserts which well exceeded expectations. This is a place definitely worth visiting for traditional dutch food in a contemporary setting in Amsterdam.

We had our Christmas dinner here and we had a fantastic evening. Gloria and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make it a special evening. Possibly the friendliest service I've had in Amsterdam! The food was nicely done and very tasty. I'm a big eater and for me, the portions were a little too small. So, make sure to tell in advance if you're a big eater. The atmosphere here is also something special. We had our dinner at the bar, which is on the canal side. Really lovely.

We came for Christmas Dinner with my mum who was visiting. Gloria was beyond attentive and showed genuine interest in making our Christmas Day wonderful. The rest of the staff were also a credit to the restaurant. The food was delicious, wonderful flavours and perfectly cooked. Definitely recommend. The a la carte menu looked lovely. We had the set 4 course Christmas menu, my only feedback would be portions could have been a bit more generous, especially for the veggie 4 course menu. We also had delicious cocktails, nice alcoholic and non alcoholic options. The setting there is so cosy and beautiful and theres a true attention to detail. A lovely place to go when you are in the city Thanks again Gloria and all the staff, you made our day ❤️

The food was really nice, I ordered some veal cheeks and the flavor and the preparation were 10/10. Unfortunately, the service was bad. We arrived 7 min late and that was taken as an excuse for a delay on our main course of more than an hour. They said they didn’t have enough staff, but we were never told we would have to wait as much. Nevertheless, it is a good place if the organizational issues are improved.

This is my first time didn’t want to take any pictures for dinner. I have got girl place the drink order for me, one glass of white wine and one cocktail. I guess i have wait 20mins for the cocktail. And she only bring the dishes and take away the empty without any services, no adding table water and such. Everytime we have to wait quite long time for someone sees us. The food wise is okay. No complaints. But no surprise. Compare with the price, I think I prefer Michelin recommend restaurant.

This is a legitimate review that does not include profanity and is a factual representation of our reservation on Saturday March 11th. I believe the business has flagged this review to hide a negative review. I recently visited Bluespoon Restaurant in Amsterdam and unfortunately, we (party of 6) had an unpleasant experience. The service was spotty at best, and rather than the manager taking on our feedback seriously, he was a bit defensive and expected us to take the poor service without acknowledging how it impacted our dining experience. Specifically, we ordered cocktails and by the time our mains arrived, our cocktails had not yet arrived (it had been at least 30 minutes from when we had ordered both the mains and cocktails). They then chased up the cocktails, and they arrived after we had started eating our mains. Secondly, we ordered two of the apple crumble which specify on the menu that ice cream was part of the dish. We had to call the waiter over to let him know our confusion when the dessert arrived without ice cream which he then checked with the kitchen and later brought two side plates of ice cream. Finally, I had ordered a mint tea and clearly they had completely forgot about this as everyone had finished their dessert and I had not received my mint tea until I then chased and they eventually brought it over. On the food - three of us ordered steaks medium rare, two of us had a steak that was half done, half medium rare. The mint tea was a cup filled about 2/3 full of hot water - it was neither a full cup nor served in a teapot. One of our diners ordered a cauliflower steak, and it was very average in terms of spices, sauce, and dressing. In summary, the food was “okay”. When the bill came, we mentioned the issue of the cocktails first with the waiter and asked if they could do anything for us - he came back and offered to give us a round of drinks on the house. By this stage, the service had been so bad, our dinner ran quite late so we all just wanted to leave. The manager then offered to take a €18 cheese plate off of our €400 bill. We did not feel this was an acceptable “make good” gesture, given all the issues I mention above. When we asked to speak to the manager, he said that in his defence, the bar was busy and the menu was 2 days new to the kitchen. While I can empathise with these things, I do not feel that I, as a paying customer of quite a high-end establishment, should be made to compensate for the poor service. At the very least, I felt that the manager should have acknowledged that our experience did not meet a standard, even if he wasn’t able to reduce our bill significantly more. Ultimately, he offered to take our desserts off the bill (which, by the way, they still kept one dessert on). However, (more importantly) our evening and experience was understandably soured and I cannot recommend this restaurant service nor food to other friends who visit Amsterdam.

This place was absolutely sensational. Everything from the greeting to the goodbye, and the food and service in between was immaculate. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was just Devine. The open kitchen makes this a really great experience too as you can watch your food being prepared. It was clean, immaculate actually. The design of the restaurant is also fantastic! Do glad I was able to experience this.

Overall a very solid experience. The restaurant design and atmosphere was outstanding; note that this is a hotel restaurant in the Andaz, which is Hyatt’s boutique chain. That’s definitely not a downside, but it also explains why the setting and menu are perhaps more aspirational than the good-to-middling food and service ended up being. Perhaps it was an off night, but our servers seemed a bit uninterested, and details with the dishes were off (our cheese board, for example, had some truly moldy cheese in a bad way). Worth giving a try if you’re in town or staying in the hotel.

Gloria (?) was extremely welcoming and a wonderful host, arranging the best table for in the restaurant - which was a great start to our dining experience. The food overall was very tasty, I would highly recommend the Kibbeling, Chicken and Halibut. unfortunately the positives stop there: - we had to wait 25min before we could order drinks despite waving to the waiter multiple times - the waiter in question (earlobes) was too busy taking payment and clearing dishes from other tables, which are less priority. - dishes we hadn’t ordered were brought to us and the waiter rudely implied we actually did when indeed we hadn’t - generally speaking, for a 5-star hotel and restaurant, the service was quite amateur, staff with little to no training, there is a clear lack of leadership and management. You just have kids running around with no guidance. Shame on the owners of the place.

We really enjoyed eating here. We went for the less formal bar menu rather than the tasting menu in the restaurant- perhaps next time! The bar area is very trendy, modern and a lovely place to be. We sat next to the window which was wonderful for watching the world go by, particularly all of the boats on the canal. The staff were really pleasant and attentive and the food was all very tasty - good options were available for vegetarians and vegan diners. The wine was expensive for what it was but otherwise the food was fairly priced for a high end place like this.

Eine eher kleine - aber wirklich schöne Karte. Das Ambiente ist besonders, ohne aufgesetzt fancy sein zu sollen und der Service ist sehr zuvorkommend. Die Qualität der Speisen ist super, einzig allein die Pana Cotta war nicht sooo meins, da sie von der Konsistenz her ganz anders als gewohnt war. Wir würden wiederkommen :-).

WOW. This place was amazing! The absolute best oysters we have ever eaten, a paloma cocktail with saffron which was delicious and unmatched in quality, the open kitchen design which we loved! We also had a fish dish, fries, grilled mushrooms, mashed potatoes and a beef tenderloin with avocado. Everything was excellent quality and mouthwatering. Would absolutely recommend!

Very, very stylish! One of those places that you can tell had some very careful thought go into the interior design. I ordered the local smoked eel bruschetta and it is probably one of the prettiest plates of food I've enjoyed for a while! The eel itself was lightly smoked and delicate. The bread was perfectly crisp. Definitely a treat!

Review of Rijks – Vegetarian Tasting Menu (Tuin | Garden) Walking into Rijks, you immediately sense that this isn’t a “typical museum restaurant.” It’s refined without being intimidating, and the service sets the tone for what turns out to be a remarkable dining journey. For my first-ever vegetarian tasting menu — and at a Michelin-starred restaurant — I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Courses & Impressions... Tomaat (Tomato, Strawberry, Honey, Basil) A surprising opener that danced between savory and sweet. The brightness of tomato lifted by basil, with strawberry and honey adding both freshness and depth, instantly set the stage for how imaginative this menu would be. Fruits de Terre (Amazake, Shio Koji, Poppy Seed Tahini) Earthy, nutty, and umami all at once. The amazake and shio koji provided a subtle fermentation complexity, while the tahini grounded the dish. A fascinating “soil-meets-ferment” plate that showed just how far vegetables can go in flavor expression. Tuinboon (Broad Bean, Sea Lavender, Pistachio, Lemon Verbena) This plate was a revelation in texture — the creaminess of the beans, the gentle crunch of pistachio, and an herbal lift from lemon verbena. It tasted like a garden in peak summer, delicate but assertive. Pom Pom Blanc (Lion’s Mane, Celeriac Bordelaise, Hollandaise, Curry Leaf Oil) Lion’s mane mushrooms are often praised for their “meaty” bite, and here they were elevated with a Bordelaise richness and the silkiness of hollandaise. The curry leaf oil gave it a subtle aromatic twist. A dish that blurs the line between plant-based and classic French fine dining. Millefeuille of Beetroot... The star of the menu! Even though it was an add-on, this was a piece of edible art. Beetroot layered like pastry, bringing both visual drama and earthy sweetness. Worth the indulgence. Glazed BBQ Tempeh (Oatmeal, Zucchini, Ajipanca) Smoky, hearty, and comforting, this was perhaps the most surprising course. Tempeh, often dismissed as “hippie food,” was transformed into something gourmet. The Peruvian ajipanca pepper added depth without overpowering. Bijenwas (Beeswax, Honey, Elderflower, Black Fruits) A poetic finish — floral, fruity, and lightly sweet. The beeswax brought an almost ethereal texture, while elderflower and black fruits tied it together like the closing note of a symphony. Overall Experience... This menu was one of the best gastronomic journeys of my life. Every dish was layered, thoughtful, and elegant... not once did it feel like a compromise for being a vegetarian meal. Instead, it showcased the creativity and depth that vegetables can offer when handled with care. Rijks isn’t just a place to eat; it’s an education in flavour, a conversation with Dutch soil, and a reminder that vegetables can stand proudly at the center of haute cuisine. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unforgettable, and worth returning to Amsterdam for!!!
