BOATHOUSE in Vinkeveen

Since I only visited the Boathouse in the afternoon, the menu was very limited and unfortunately consisted only of unhealthy, deep-fried food.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Super nice place! Great atmosphere, friendly and good staff, and delicious food. 🍽️🥂 Everything was perfect. Definitely recommended and we would love to come back again!

Just a great spot for lunch or drinks. Parking by car can be a problem, but there is plenty of space across the street. Or just come by bike.

The restaurant has a beautiful location with a lovely view over the water, which was definitely the highlight of the visit. However, parking was very limited, which made arriving a bit inconvenient. The food was decent, but the portions were quite small for the price. I would not recommend the shrimp pasta, as it was disappointing. The focaccia was also much smaller than expected. Another downside was the seating. The benches along the wall were far too high, making them quite uncomfortable to sit on during the meal. Overall, this restaurant is worth visiting if you're looking for a nice waterfront view, but the food, portion sizes, and seating could be improved.

Varied menu, friendly staff. A minor downside. The chairs on the terrace are not really comfortable and the benches are much higher than the chairs.

We had an absolutely delicious meal!!! The 3-course sharing menu was a winner with a bit of everything: delicious prawns, pieces of tuna, delicious rendang, loaded fries… and more. The highlight was the dessert (ultimate ending)!! The service was extremely friendly and nice. Keep up the good work for the young lady who had her first day: you are doing a great job!!

Having the name Boathouse I expected seafood dishes. It was sushi and some 'Spanish' tapas dishes. The dishes were in small potions and to be shared. For those prices I understand. The truffle fries were good as was the shrimp in oil. I did miss a fork however. I was seated outside on an actual in use dock. Boats were coming in going with people also chilling in their boats and children fighting their siblings. It was not a great atmosphere. If you are full then you are full, don't shove customers into every nook. The waitress was super nice, fast and attentive. Parking easy and affordable. View great.

A valuable location to relax for a while

After looking at the menu, we decided on the "TO SHARE" 3-course menu for 4 people. The waitstaff informed us that this was unfortunately not possible tonight. It would have been better to make this known in advance, but oh well. We selected various dishes for starters, and they arrived at the table one by one; fine. After that, we each ordered a main course: 2 x sole fillets, 1 pizza, and the chimi steak. The chimi steak arrived at least 15 minutes later than the other dishes; upon inquiry, this was because more time was needed for it. But in my opinion, that is just a way of planning. The steak was impossible to cut with a normal knife, and we had to ask for a steak knife twice. We then pointed out that the steak was really not tasty, much too raw, and certainly not of the quality one would expect. The waitstaff responded with full understanding, but nothing further was done about it. A pity. All in all, a fine place for a snack and a drink in a beautiful location, but certainly not for dinner.

We came with friends to rent a boat. Unfortunately, all the boats were already gone, which I completely understand; the weather was beautiful. That is why I later politely asked if there might be other nice places nearby where you could swim or relax by the water. I gave examples such as small beaches or lakes, like the ones you have in Almere, for instance. The employee who helped us was a somewhat scruffy-looking young man with dark blond, curly/wavy hair. To be honest, he reminded me a bit of Shaggy from Scooby-Doo—quite unkempt for an "adult" man. Instead of thinking along with us, I only received responses like: "Then you have to go to The Hague" or "Then you have to go to Almere." Everything I mentioned myself was basically just thrown back at me without any help or suggestion. I really don't understand where his irritation came from. Because I was surprised that apparently nothing was known in the area, I asked clearly one more time: "So you really don't know of anything nearby that we could possibly do?" To which he responded with a laugh: “I’ve already said no three times.” That came across as quite rude and irritated. Fortunately, this was later completely made up for by a young blonde employee who immediately saw that we could use some help. Without us having to ask again, she actually thought along with us and immediately gave us good alternatives, including the Vinkeveense Plassen, which ultimately turned out to be a top tip. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but afterwards I did get the feeling that there might have been a judgment because my friends are clearly gay or because of our tattoos. Of course, I don't know for sure, but the way we were treated felt unnecessarily distant and unpleasant. That made it all the more disappointing, because a little friendliness and a normal, proactive approach really makes a big difference.

Service was meh, staff a bit arrogant and curt. I didn't say anything about it. Went out for dinner last Sunday after a day at Vinkeveen. Came home the next day and my girlfriend and I both had severe diarrhea and stomach pain. I woke up with it the day after the meal, and didn't eat anything else. The shrimp and meat already tasted a bit weird. Red curry looks more like risotto and portions are incredibly small and expensive. The view was okay though! Never again for me.

Lovely spot, hidden by the water. Great service, nice lunch dishes (I had no idea about waffles and chicken, but wow, they were delicious!). The only downside is the navigation, which says you have to park the car on the motorway ramp and then cross the ditch to reach the entrance. Because of that, both I and my date had to take an extra loop along the road by the water, which takes about 7 extra minutes 😅

Great place, had lunch here twice, excellent food and service

A lovely restaurant with parking, right on the waterfront. Covered terrace and a mooring deck for enjoying a drink on board. Quick service, good quality. The only downside is the very noisy road nearby. Charging stations are available close by. Reservations are recommended.

Four friends and I quickly moored our boat to have a few beers and a nice lunch. We had chicken katsu sandos and focaccia with Parma ham. It tasted sublime, we sat comfortably in the sun, and were served in a friendly manner. Definitely worth repeating.

An easy 5 stars! The menu is diverse, and every single dish was delicious. The restaurant is atmospheric and beautiful. The service is top-notch, good service with a smile. Absolutely nothing to complain about. You will definitely see us back.

After having eaten very well here for years, the quality and quantity are now starting to decline. The shared dining menu is significantly less than before. Suddenly, there is no pasta included anymore. Also, the pizza used to be 2 different types, now only 1. The food is warm, not hot. So, dear Boathouse, keep an eye on this. I understand that with €35 for such a menu, you have to cut corners somewhere, but as far as I'm concerned, it could easily be €40, and then put the old menu back on the table with a bit more variety.

A boat house if there ever was one

We had a delicious meal; there was plenty of choice between fish, vegetarian, and meat. Super nice atmosphere and the service is also very good.

I can't say anything about the food, because it still hasn't been delivered after well over an hour and a half. We ordered at 5:30 PM, then it turned out 2 dishes were missing; we were called about that. They didn't mention at the time that we would have to wait almost 2 hours for our food. If we had known that, we would have cancelled. We are sitting here with 5 small children and are still waiting for food. We were just told by phone that it will be delivered around 7:15 PM, so almost 2 hours (!!) later. No apology at all, nothing, except that they “have multiple orders, so yeah”. Truly scandalous.

Incompetent and unfriendly service. Because they are the only ones at this location, they get away with it. It is a real shame, because with someone with hospitality experience, this could be a really nice place.

We had a wonderful experience! We were immediately greeted by a friendly young lady, served promptly, and always with a smile! The food was also really delicious! The poke bowl with avocado was a huge hit, and we finished it off with a delicious tiramisu! Thank you for a wonderful way to end our sweetheart weekend 😉

Very very cute little restaurant on the water shore in Vinkeveen. Food was beyond words delicious and filling, service was quick, friendly and helpful and overall experience was relaxing. The food portions are normal but the food quality is extremely good so the portions are more than enough (people who are looking for american size portions, this is not the place for you guys). Cocktail was super delicious too! Very beautiful young team! We will definitely return.

We arrived shortly after 8:00 PM, only to be told the kitchen was closing soon and we had to order everything at once. Assuming they were main courses based on the prices, we ordered salmon salad (€17) and a Poké Chicken Bowl (€16.50). Both were served in tiny bowls (about the size of a cereal bowl). Four thin strips of salmon, no salad dressing other than mayonnaise. The Poké was lukewarm. Completely overpriced. The service was unfriendly but efficient. The ambiance was great.

We had a wonderful evening. The service is cheerful and truly dedicated to ensuring you have a great time. We enjoyed the various dishes we could share, the beautiful presentation on the plates, and, importantly, the excellent flavor. Truly disappointing – I'll never come back here! I'm absolutely stunned by my visit. We were told directly and without any apparent reason that there was no table available, even though the restaurant was almost completely empty! We felt like we were simply "turned out," which was incredibly rude and condescending. After we somehow managed to get a table outside, we were shocked by the state of the tables – they were extremely dirty. Only after we explicitly asked was the table reluctantly and superficially wiped down. When the food finally arrived, the disappointment was complete. It simply didn't taste good, neither to me nor to my companion. Considering the unfriendly service and the lack of hygiene, this was the absolute low point. I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant. A waste of time and money. A truly terrible experience from start to finish.

My family and I walked along the beautiful water towards the entrance of BOATHOUSE. We were quickly shown to our table, which was outside with a lovely view. Our drinks arrived quickly, and after a while, we could order our food. I went for the Godfather, a super tasty and spicy pizza (as indicated). I was quite full, so I skipped dessert, but my sister did have dessert, and it looked delicious. Another plus: the men's restroom was super clean. I don't know about the women's restroom, as I'm not allowed in there. 😁 BOATHOUSE, thank you so much for the delicious food. I'll definitely be back!

The atmosphere and service were very nice. We liked the pizzas. The menu could perhaps be a little more diverse. The worst part is that when you sit across from each other, the person on the opposite bench is sitting very high.

The menu is refreshing compared to the usual menu, which is nice, but can also be a drawback if you're looking for something traditional. The flatbread carpaccio was delicious. They also serve real apple pie here. A great place to relax in nice weather.

We had a wonderful evening. The restaurant offers a beautiful view of the harbor/lake. You can rent a canoe, boat, or pedalo. You can share the food so you can try a little bit of everything. The food is delicious!

It's quite nicely situated by a harbor. The service was friendly, but I was shocked by the price, especially since what we ordered—two cheesecakes—was very small, like a petit four, a cappuccino, and a cup of tea for €22.90. Too much money for the average person, especially considering the almost pitifully small cake. My wife and I won't be going there again. It's a good place to go, at least if you can live with very small cake slices.

Nice spot by the water, where canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, or pedal boating is possible. The location is suitable for small (corporate) parties of up to 100 people. The barbecue is fully catered. The non-alcoholic drinks ran out a bit quickly, but otherwise, we had a great party.

Beautiful and centrally located place to meet if you don't live near each other. Plenty of parking. Be careful, though, because Google Maps will quickly send you back onto the main road. Inside, it's quite simple—tables and chairs—it looks like a cafe for sailors stopping for a simple bite. The menu promises a very exotic cuisine, and the pinsa we had was delicious! After that, things went downhill. The Korean chicken and rendang with fries were more cafeteria-style. The service was very friendly and attentive. Fine for drinks, but I won't be eating there again.

Food tasted good but when you order a curry it turns out to be half a portion. Such small portions that after eating we went to get a pizza further away to add two points per person to the meal. If you make such a tasty curry then give enough for an adult man, then this would have been a top location.

We entered and asked if there was a table available. The gentleman asked us to wait 5 minutes until he cleaned a table. After waiting at the front door for 15 minutes, we saw that several tables had already been vacant for a while, so we decided to sit down. Then, after we decided we didn't mind sitting at a dirty table instead of waiting at the door, the chef told us he thought we were "strange," and we were sent back to the door. We also received a sharp reprimand from the gentleman who had already let us wait for 15 minutes. After waiting at the door for a few more minutes, we decided to have lunch elsewhere. A very strange experience; I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

We made a reservation for seven people weeks ago, including a pre-booked dinner for 6:45 pm. The restaurant was quite full. Despite this, we cheerfully filled our reserved seats. After a few drinks and one of the four courses, our patience was at an end. Another large group was already on their third course, and we still hadn't received a second. The staff didn't explain this at all. We did offer a few hints, but to no avail. At 8:35 pm, our frustration was so great that we confronted the person in charge. Even then, we still had to wait another 10-15 minutes. That was simply unacceptable. We canceled the wait and paid for the drinks we had consumed. This is absolutely terrible of Boat House. It's incomprehensible that they treat customers this way in their establishment. Never again will we go to Boat House.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of dining at the Boat House restaurant, a place where exceptional cuisine and a magical atmosphere come together in perfect harmony. As I enjoyed an extraordinary sushi dish, I watched the sun gently set over a tranquil harbor, painting the sky with soft hues of pink and lavender. The reflection of boats on the calm water, as captured in the photo, added to the peaceful charm of the evening. The service was impeccable, with staff attending to every detail with grace. The chef, working in an open kitchen right before my eyes, added an engaging element to the experience, making it feel both intimate and sophisticated. Even though I arrived without a reservation, the entire experience flowed effortlessly. This was my very first solo date, and it turned out to be a wise and enriching journey inward. I indulged in a perfectly balanced meal: a plate of superb sushi, a fresh bowl of edamame, a glass of decent white wine, and a small glass of Peroni. All of this for just 31 Euros—an incredible balance between price and quality. The experience was truly unforgettable, not just for the meal but for the serene and reflective atmosphere that made it feel like a perfect moment in time.
