Charming place. Great service and super cozy.

A really nice place to grab a drink or a bite to eat before or after a walk. Or you can go without walking, of course. It's very convenient that they have a self-service line where you can place your order. For some orders, you get a pager. It's a shame there are no mushrooms for the pancakes.

Lovely break in the middle of the dunes

Beautifully situated, inviting for a stopover on a bike ride from The Hague to Wassenaar or Katwijk. Food is limited but of good quality. Self-service is a good option. Staff come across as distant and uninvolved.

I had a very unpleasant experience with an employee here. My girlfriend was walking with a tray full of hot drinks, so I tried to make some room as there was quite a long line for the kitchen blocking the exit. Halfway through, an employee charged at me with two plates in her hand and ordered me to move aside. My girlfriend was still walking behind me with the tray full of hot drinks. Because I was a bit shaken by the aggressive tone, and I didn't want to spill a hot drink on my girlfriend by stepping back, I didn't react immediately. The employee decided to walk right through me anyway and yelled after me asking if I was blind. Unacceptable and disproportionate.

Lovely place to have a cup of coffee after a walk. We had two cappuccinos, which were fine. Afterwards, we both ate a pancake, which neither of us was very enthusiastic about. Quite tasteless (I missed a pinch of salt in the batter) and it certainly could have been cooked a bit longer. We were sitting nicely in the first spring sun, so we ordered two more drinks. The total for all of this was €44. The restaurant operates on a self-service system, which works well in itself. You are given a buzzer when your order is ready for pickup. The toilets could use a mop once during the day, and the outdoor tables could use a wipe down. There are many birds that scavenge for fallen food, and you can see traces of their droppings on the table. Otherwise, a nice place.

Food: if you find yourself exploring Meijendel, this is a great cafe for a quick pit-stop to relax, refresh and unwind before you continue on your journey. They have some nice soups and sandwiches/broodjes. We had the goat cheese baguette and freshly squeezed orange juice and it was very fresh and tasty. Service: it's a fully self-serve place, so you gotta head to the counter to get your food yourself and you can find yourself a table of choice. The food was served very quickly. Atmosphere: since it was a beautiful warm and dry day, we decided to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. It's a wonderful spot to unwind and relax.

Nice location but extremely busy even though it is a self-service restaurant. Offer a separate menu on weekends or busy days and keep it simple. Now the line extending out onto the terrace isn't practical. Why have two cash registers when only one is being used?

The rest stop in the nature reserve was nice; the fries were good, the apple pie was so-so, the environment was pleasant, and the toilets were fairly clean.

Gluten-free options are available, including pancakes. The staff is friendly. The restrooms are clean. Prices are perfectly reasonable for the Netherlands. The only slight drawback is that all the savory pancakes contain bacon, and the vegetarian options are only available in sweet varieties.

We had lunch here together today. The food was good, plentiful but nothing special. However, the atmosphere makes up for a lot: it is a cozy and atmospheric place and, partly due to the beautiful surroundings, gives a real living room feel. The self-service concept feels a bit impersonal and detracts slightly from the experience. On the other hand, the staff is friendly and helpful, which is certainly a plus. All in all, a nice place to sit for a while and therefore a great location for lunch after, for example, a walk in the Meijendel nature and dune area.

What a shame, we had been looking forward to it so much, but the pancakes weren't as tasty as we had hoped and the price was steep (an average of €11.50 without any extras like whipped cream). The apple had barely seen the pan and the size could have been a bit bigger. The cherries were lukewarm and that pancake was just barely undercooked. You have to go order them yourself, pay, and get a buzzer to go collect your plates. The atmosphere is okay though, and the toilets were reasonably clean. While we were eating, a lady started cleaning the windows with glass cleaner, which resulted in the pungent smell of the product hanging everywhere and the pancakes losing their flavor. If we come here again, it won't be for the pancakes. Free parking, though 😃

Absolutely zero. A wait of over an hour for crepes. The service is practically nonexistent. The wait time far exceeds the lifespan of the crepes—and probably the entire establishment.

A large, spacious self-service restaurant. A pager is provided. Works well, but queues can be awkward when busy due to large orders! Outside, there's a large patio inside if there's room around the fireplace, which is wonderful. What an unfriendly place: when you're done, you have to leave your dishes at a cart at both the entrance and exit, which is very strange. You're already entering a mess! The staff works there; in our case, two young people in a drafty spot, and the younger one at least two hours non-stop in an unfriendly place where everyone gets in your way. It's unavoidable. Build an extension, or at the back...if this has been going on for years...not a fun holiday job. But the food and surroundings are fantastic.

What a wonderful oasis in the middle of the dunes, the pancakes are perfect after a long walk in the east dunes

We went to this historic farm with our 98-year-old aunt for a pancake lunch. We knew it from 50-60 years ago, often going there with our own parents when we were young. The pancakes were dry, except for the bacon and cheese pancake, which wasn't cooked through. The cheese pancake barely tasted of cheese, a shame. Probably some kind of plastic cheese. A pat of butter would have been nice. The self-service staff missed their customer service training, but that's probably what happens with this establishment. The cleaners were friendly. The toilet wasn't exactly fresh. The memory was good, and it was at least 25 degrees Celsius in the restaurant. Good for Aunt Wil. Dishes other than pancakes looked better. The lead time was surprisingly short. We were reprimanded when we threatened to take the wrong pancake from the self-service. Other guests seemed to have had better luck. 3 pancakes, 2 red wines, and 1 cappuccino €52

Love the fireplace.. authentic dutch fare in the farmhouse.. Meijendel is an expansive dune area... it's located between The Hague and Wassenaar by the zee ... It is managed by the drinking water company Dunea. It is one of the most significant nature reserves in the Randstad, featuring a diverse mix of forests, dunes, and lakes as well.

Expensive. No service, high prices, everything is self service.

The farm is, of course, in a prime location. After enjoying the outdoors, enjoy some delicious food and drinks. The atmosphere is relaxed, and you can warm up by the fireplace. The only downside, for me, is that you have to bring and collect everything yourself. We'll definitely be back next time.

Don't go there, there's plenty of fun to be had in Wassenaar itself. A waste of money. Unless you like reheated pancakes, ordered from a roadside restaurant with terribly antisocial, disinterested staff. It's incredibly expensive; the biggest scam in the entire area. What was once fun has been ruined. Such a shame!

Great pancake place! The toilets are too filthy to describe, but understandable with so many little ones here :-) The bacon could be fried a little longer. The pancake itself tastes a bit too "degerigar" right now: in short, it could also be left in the pan a little longer. We'd love to come back! Soefi also liked the rocket. The seating area by the fireplace was also very cozy, perfect for reading a book. Friendly staff!

Self-service, ridiculously expensive, and very poor quality. €12.50 for a soggy pancake. This pancake restaurant used to be a great place to enjoy delicious pancakes in the middle of the woods and dunes, with excellent service. Unfortunately, for years it's been a self-service shack where you're treated to ridiculous prices, and everything that comes fresh from the kitchen is terrible. The reason for its existence is that there are no alternatives around the playground and woods. Advice: bring your own picnic basket.

Just picked up this delicious summer salad and am thoroughly enjoying the calm and quaint experience this Pannenkoekenboerderij always provides. I’ve been coming here for years, with the children and as a secret escape on my own. It’s always such a treat and the people are super friendly and genuine. Extra insiders tip: check out the back terrace which can be less busy at times. This place is dog-friendly and is a wonderful destination for the whole family, all year round.

Delicious pancakes eaten on the terrace. Well arranged now that the relaxations have not yet been completely completed. On the rear terrace you can sit in the sun out of the wind. Definitely recommended to have something to eat here after walking.

I want to say something about the cheese pancakes: they put them cheese-side down in the pan, which makes the cheese crispy. Delicious! Never seen that before in a pancake restaurant. To address common complaints in other reviews: - It wasn't particularly busy on a sunny day around lunchtime. Self-service ran smoothly, and the pancakes were ready in no time. - The pancake was simply delicious, not chewy or hard, and there was a generous amount of toppings. - The price/quality ratio was excellent. For such a prime location, you might expect slightly higher prices, but I didn't find it outrageous. - There were indeed a lot of wasps. That unfortunately makes the meal a bit less relaxing, but certainly not a deal-breaker for me. And I don't think there's much you can do about it. If you really can't stand them, be warned.

A walk through The Hague and the dunes, with a peaceful setting at the Meijendel Farm restaurant. A cozy place where you can relax and enjoy yourself with a "home" feeling. Simply wonderfully relaxing and affordable 😋

Warning: it's teeming with wasps (early August). If you have children who are afraid of wasps, or if you're afraid of them yourself, I wouldn't recommend eating here. You'll be constantly harassed by wasps, both inside and outside. The food is good, though, which is to be expected considering the price.

What a pleasant experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Good value for money.

If you are looking for a quiet place this is the right choice

It's wonderful to be able to enjoy a fairly extensive lunch restaurant in beautiful Meyendel. The location is fantastic. I've been there many times, but this was the first time I ate there. It was busy, but not packed, last Sunday. Where it was, however, was at the very cramped self-service counter. It felt uncomfortable, being crammed together in the queue. If you're going to use self-service, try a La Place; it's much more open and spacious there. When I brought pancakes to the terrace, they were greeted even more enthusiastically by the wasps than by my daughter. I quickly fled inside. I think the topping on the pancakes was store-bought and not homemade, but it was tasty—a generous amount, too—but the pancakes themselves weren't that tasty. A bit tough, slightly overcooked, and even difficult to cut. The sandwiches and salads looked good, but I can't comment on them. Afterward, you had to take your plates to a clearing counter yourself. There, another encounter with the wasps awaited. Inside, it certainly wasn't spotless, but at the clearing counter, it was even a bit dirty. Understandable, because the wasps made everyone want to throw away the plates as quickly as possible and leave immediately. Given the beautiful location, I understand it's a popular spot. But no, it really isn't.

Beautiful location in the middle of the forest. Pancakes are on the expensive side. The staff sometimes forget to give you your toppings and put the glass jars (which contain things like cherries or whipped cream) on top of your pancake. Not very hygienic.

De pannenkoeken waren echt slecht. Geen smaak aan en droog. De zelfbediening is het concept maar de tafels kunnen toch wel schoon zijn lijkt me. Het personeel is meer in elkaar dan ïn de frisheid van de tafels geïnteresseerd.

A very nice place to linger, with delicious food. It's partially wheelchair accessible. You have to serve yourself. Dishes, glasses, etc., aren't cleared away. It's unclear what the server at the drop-off station is doing. She was playing on her cell phone the entire time and didn't touch a single plate during the time we were there (1.5 hours). Just her phone.
