Cozy café with a pleasant atmosphere and welcoming staff. Delicious food and drinks in a pleasant setting. Highly recommended! Located near a great hiking area.

From the warm Mind Mystery, we ended up here, enjoyed several delicious cold drinks and enjoyed the location (next to the water). The service was incredibly friendly, highly recommended :)

A place to relax and chill on Sunday

We had a wonderful dinner, a fish trio where the chef perfectly accommodated my lactose intolerance and used coconut milk. Delicious. And thank you. Four stars, a solid pass. (As I rarely give 5 stars.)

First, we enjoyed nature with our dogs. Then we had a delicious meal. The soup of the moment was delicious (zucchini soup). The shrimp and Pernot sauce were also excellent! The tomato soup and salmon are also highly recommended. The atmosphere was great, and the dogs got a bone and water. The staff were friendly. Highly recommended!

We received a warm welcome and tried a delicious beer; the view from the terrace is beautiful.

Fantastic! On Saturday evening from Austria (!) stumbled upon this gem! Didn't have to eat on the highway, but at the lake in Horst, what a relief! It was very busy, but there was still room for 2 and the kitchen could also adapt everything to my diet: fodmap diet. Delicious food, top class! There is a good kitchen, which can take allergies into account. Delicious chicken satay too, normal, large portions. Tasty fries! Beautiful terrace with a view of the lake.

Went for lunch without a reservation. Was seated straight away, given a menu and served quickly which is what you want at lunchtime. Good did the trick too 🙂

An interesting place to stop for a warm meal and hot tea while wandering around the nearby attractions. It is located very close to the park with the upside down house. The prices are very affordable. The restaurant has an original atmosphere, it's worth visiting!

We loved the high tea the first time. But yesterday we had no contact to request a second jug of hot water. So we only got 1. And the room was dirty. Not that I'm just averse to anything. But if the food is against the window and there are dirty hand prints on the door to the outside. Then I think it really goes far. I didn't dare go to the toilet either. Too bad the wrong moment was recorded. Food was okay. Very sweet and wraps very little cappuccino. Was more like a lettuce wrap with wafer cappuccino. We left because we couldn't even hear each other in the room anymore.

We love coming there. It's nice that the dog is also welcome.

Due to a shortage of staff it took too long before you had something simple to eat

The atmosphere is great but the food takes a very long time. 1 hour and 10 minutes wait. Goelash soup was very thick and flat in taste. The béarnaise sauce with the salmon was very poor. The diamond tenderloin arrived overcooked, but that was repaired well. The composed salad was very tasty, especially the dressing was delicious. Nice and beautiful restaurant with friendly service. If you ask for warm apple pie, it comes from the microwave

We ate a delicious forest plateau on the terrace. The sandwiches here are fantastic. Make sure you are hungry when you eat here because the portions are generous.

We made a lunch stop here during our journey home from holiday. Although most of the reviews are good, I still found it disappointing. The location is nice, but the service is impersonal. Unfortunately, complaints are not picked up properly and nothing is done about them in any case. There was a hair in the tomato soup, which also came from a can/package. The cappuccino was very watery. The toilet was dirty. The bouncer and the vegetarian bread platter with soup were tasty. But all in all I still found it disappointing.

Had been sitting on the terrace for a while, service saw me but ignored me. It was a bit busy, but most people already had food and drinks. I just went again. Too bad because it is a beautiful location

Had 1x sharing and 1x a la carte. Delicious both times. Sharing is highly recommended. It is especially nice to spend time outside under the veranda.

Good food, beautiful view of the water, recommended place to have something to eat. In our opinion, areas for improvement are the toilet and we had to wait a bit long for service, which was a bit annoying for the small children. For the rest great!

Unfortunately we had our invisibility clothing on again today. We simply weren't seen. Tried several times to get in touch, but to no avail. We walked on without a drink. This happens to us more often in Horst, but never in Afferden. However, staff attitude.

After an afternoon of Mind Mystery we went to Boscafe Het Maasdal. It's on the corner at mind mystery. Greeted kindly by an employee, asked where we wanted to sit and took us to a seat. We sat outside with a view over a large lake (fish pond). Quick service, delicious lunch and nice staff! Very hospitable and friendly.

Had a delicious lunch together with a few former colleagues. The weather was finally good again, so it was nice to sit outside with a view of the water. The only downside was that there was no sign from the road referring to the Boscafe. There is a plate with Mind Mystery and Strawberry Land. The Boscafe was also practically invisible from the road. So I also had to search and ask.

Price quality is less, you pay a lot for what you get and the quality is not high. Very little choice on the menu.

The location and surroundings...fine. Had dinner with a large group of 24 people. Staff: Super friendly Atmosphere: a long table with so many people is not cozy ... a block is much better, could have been ... it was not busy Dinner presentation: on shelves, I don't think it's hygienic. Also the desserts on a plank, not tasty, you can taste the plank, especially with the whipped cream from a spray can, which was also on the plank, and immediately ran into milk. Diet or eating preference: no shellfish, e.g. Everyone got 4 things...chicken skewers, piece of steak, stuffed peppers and shrimp skewers. The person without shellfish got 3 things, and nothing instead of the shrimp. The two vegetarian people only had 2 half stuffed pointed peppers.... very little. The fries and sweet potato fries were really cold and were not replenished. The taste of the dishes was quite okay. But this time the price-quality ratio was far off. Again, the staff was super friendly, but the rest was really disappointing. I hope that you can use this positive constructive criticism for the next large groups that come to dine. That would be very nice, and get rid of those wooden planks, and the shrimp not next to the meat. The taste of the shrimp was in the meat...a shame.

Had a nice lunch today. Friendly staff. It was immediately indicated that today could take a little longer, of course no problem because it is Sunday and it is also nice to relax for a while. Had a delicious sandwich with a cup of soup. It's a shame that other people don't have the decency and patience when it's busy. The staff remained very friendly despite the rudeness in the restaurant.

Music not suitable for a wide audience and the volume is much too high. Very annoying

Altijd top hier! Fijne gedachten dat er altijd een plekje is waar ze WEL weten hoe je een mooi stukje vlees bakt naar wens..🍷

Prijs kwaliteit klopt, eten is goed en redelijk snel. Helaas is het erg luidruchtig binnen en de wc’s zijn ontzettend vies en worden tussendoor niet gecontroleerd/gepoetst.

Hier moet je gewoon een keer gegeten hebben! Personeel zeer (kind-) vriendelijk en servicegericht. Leuke locatie, leuke warme inrichting. Het eten is heerlijk en je hebt voldoende keus. Echt een aanrader.

Kom hier al jaren,als ik op de camping ben met familie, bezoek of een groepje van de camping, luchen of dineren.

Hamburger 15,- prijs qua kwaliteitsverhouding klopt niet……. Hamburger die je serveert krijgt klopt niet ten opzichte foto. Rest was super goed.

Erg lekker eten; de serveersters zijn heel vriendelijk en service bewust. Er wordt uit zichzelf gevraagd, of men een glaasje water bij de wijn wil hebben. Service waar men dus niet om hoeft te vragen. Het restaurant is leuk gelegen; je hebt een mooi uitzicht op een bosmeer. Kortom: een echte aanrader!

Heerlijk gegeten samen met vrouw en dochter van 6 maanden. Het was nog vroeg (17:00) en daarom rustig en perfect voor ons qua rust. Leuke bediening die precies de balans heeft gevonden tussen op tijd vragen of alles naar wens is vs opdringerig zijn. Top ervaring en lekker gegeten. PS: de aardbei tiramisu is wel heel groot dus let op met wat je besteld (of we hadden even heel veel geluk haha).

Dit is de beste plek om te lunchen in Horst aan de Maas. De gerechten zijn lekker en de smaakcombinaties logisch en verfrissend. Hier kun je echt terecht voor lekker eten met een prettig uitzicht en een fijne sfeer. Wij slaan structureel lunchen in het centrum over om hier heen te gaan vanwege het lekkere eten.

We hebben hier echt heerlijk geluncht. Waar ik echter voort overal tegen aanloop, is dat ik met honger van tafel ga. De prijzen zijn schrikbarend en de borden veel minder gevuld. Dit is geen klacht voor dit boscafe. Want het was echt lekker gezellig en gastvrij. De prijzen OVERAL lopen gewoon echt de spuigaten uit

Gezellig gezeten aan het water en onder het genot van een drankje genoten van een heerlijk goedgevulde goulashsoep, een verrukkelijke bosburger met extra bacon en een gebakken eitje en latte maciato caramel toe 💞 Een heerlijke informele sfeer en de fijne bediening gecombineerd met een redelijke prijs maken van het Boscafe een absolute aanrader!

Wij gaan er graag naar toe voor een drankje en een hapje naar een wandeling met de hondjes in het kasteelpark.
