Tasty pastries, quick service and lovely staff

I walked in around 13:30 as I saw that they still had some bread left. I like their bread and I do them a favour by buying it as they throw it away I suppose if nobody buys it. Two Spanish speaking ladies were busy with cleaning up and thanks God, one of them warned the other one that I was waiting at the counter. She did help but as if she was doing me a favour. She told the price and walked away before I finished paying. Very rude. I get it; the weather is gorgeous and she wants to run out asap but she is there to serve until the door is closed: I paid full price for their unsold bread and got an attitude as a bonus…

Great bakery, very good freshly made pastries and breads. Young and enthusiastic staff, quiet and rustic atmosphere. If you dine in, there is table service and a menu, but look at the counters in advance as the items change daily and aren't all listed. Highly recommending their homemade lemonade and brioche cinnamon rolls.

Pastries were great. I think there could be more staff, when it gets busy it’s hard to order and confusing about whether to order at the table or counter.

The sandwiches aren't great, with a lack of balance in the ingredients and freshness. The service is slow and the interior is poorly maintained.

This morning, I walk by accident and when I look inside wow.. feel would like to get in. Sure I have done take one petit déjeuner Classiques. Croissant excellent. By morning walk get a good breakfast . I am happy with that. Now, lots of energy to walk around . Service is nice with smiling .. I love it. See you. Eight years later, I've made my second visit to this truly inviting boulanger and patisserie in the heart of Delft. Their sandwiches are delicious and their breads are absolutely to die for – it's a place I'll happily return to every time I'm in the Netherlands.

Not a bad place. But they serve coffee in a dirty cup — spilled all over, with dried stains, and a sticky handle. The restroom: it's impossible to wash your hands without touching the dirty sink. There's enough space to install a proper full-sized one, but apparently, they're cutting costs everywhere.

Sandwiches made to order. I had a ham and cheese on baguette. They have a good selection of pastries.

Delicious fresh French organic breads are available to take away and enjoy on-site. The rolls are wonderfully fresh and crispy, topped with homemade spreads and delicious fresh toppings. The homemade lemonade is also highly recommended. Delicious cakes and pastries are also available.

Disappointing croissant. You can taste it is not fresh, it tastes old, not crunchy and the savour could be better. Too expensive (2.10 euro) for what you get.

What a delicious baguette, this is worth a detour, will definitely go here more often. Top bakers are rare these days.

The only really good cappuccino I had in Delft. A Boulangerie with a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for breakfast and snacks. The swirl was huge and very good and the waiters very friendly (they all speak English). Prices a bit high, but being in Holland it is understandable.

Good service but croissant is cold (can be heated), orange juice is too diluted and small quantity, coffee is not the best thing you can pay for. For the same price u can get better quality in other places in delft

Bakker asks his people to wear gloves (nicely!), but this morning he committed a serious hygiene violation. I spoke to him about this and unfortunately he did not handle the feedback received well. I just left because I had no confidence. It's a shame, because I was craving such delicious bread. I just went to the sourdough bakery. Such a shame! Practice what you preach. Don't forget the good example!

Great patisserie with very high-quality food. The coffee, croque monsieur and tarte aux abricots were perfect. The staff were also professional and friendly.

I find the quality of some of their products overrated at the moment. I feel their breads particularly were of better quality previously. The reason for this could be that products often don’t seem that freshly baked when you pick ‘m up in the morning, but seem from the day before. It misses that typical fresh crunch, same with their croissants. And I wonder if this is due to their expansion to more bakeries baking at a much larger scale now, at a cost to the customer. I used to be a daily customer, but for the best sourdough and baguettes I go elsewhere now.

The reason this place is getting good ratings is because there is no alternative in town. Croissants culture in the Netherlands is pretty lame - they even sell ham and cheese croissants in most of the places. Michel at least respects that and follows some common sense. I buy bread and croissants from them whenever we miss France. However, it is definitely expensive. Oh and just walking to Michel is a delight, they are located next to the Oude Kerk. Lovely!

Sandwiches are tasty, service is a disaster.

Ordered baguettes and croissants and picked them up the next day. It went well and the bread was tasty, but not quite like in La France.

Went there for breakfast. Baguette delicious, but a bit too much salad and not enough toppings for my taste. Orange juice tasty, but a bit small for the price. The waitresses were all very friendly and nice. Rooms nicely furnished. Dogs are also allowed, at least one was in the store.

We were looking for a delicious breakfast in an area that was unfamiliar to us. That's how we came across this little 'French bakery'. After a short time we were served very friendly and received what we ordered. At first we were skeptical about whether we would get enough of it? - In the end we were full. However, we think it was because the baguette, which was very crispy (as it should be), was easy to chew & it just took longer. 😄 The toppings on top could definitely be more, just like the contents in the orange juice glass & the cappuccino. I don't know him to be that small for "big". Together we paid €24. - cheaper than in a hotel, but significantly less choice and no chance of taking something again. What I think is great is the reuse of some of the things that can be found in the store. Starting with the glasses on the table. Conclusion - delicious baguette, not enough content in the drinks.

My score on Food is based on the expectation gap. Croissants are not bad, but also not good. They are not really buttery, rather small, and bland. I had eclairs a couple times, choux was always quite stale. Not really what you expect from a boulangerie. They are only a couple points above store-bought. To compare, an average large-chain bakery in Denmark (e.g. Buka, or even Espresso House) is much better.

Prices are quite high, which would be alright if the product was good. The baguettes were closer to stokbrood than baguette. The crust was dry and weak, the inside was soft (and not sturdy). The madeleines were dry. The staff can't speak Dutch. Usually the last point would mean high quality food, but that wasn't the case. This is more Dutch bread than French. If you want to experience actual high quality baguettes, try Le Fournil.

Amazing pastries and viennoiserie! On sundays, it helps to come before 10 since it can be very busy and then some of the best menu items sell out

Sandwich (L'Hispanique) was very bad, bread was hard and dry, toppings were minimal. Unfortunately the worst food experience I have had in Delft.

We were expecting some really nice pastries based off the reviews but were left underwhelmed. The almond croissant was really not that great and quite pricy.

Since I had to pay almost €7 for my wrong coffee last week - because of some extra milk it suddenly cost more than € 2 at - I'll just leave this matter aside for now. Prices are already a bit higher, but this is really too expensive for me and not very customer friendly

All very good, even the cappuccino and espresso. French-style patisserie with a large variety of pastries and savory foods. Prices average for the area.

Even in the most touristic places of my hometown of Paris, I wouldn't have imagined paying more than 10€ for a small glass of orange juice, a coffee and a pain au chocolat. The pain au chocolat was OK.

One of the few places that makes fresh, unthawed bread in the city. Absurd prices of up to five euros and more for a small loaf (you pay per piece). Bread that is nothing special, far from Italian or German bread. I don't know about the pastry shop

Boulangerie Michel in Delft is a true gem for pastry lovers! I recently had the pleasure of indulging in their exceptional almond croissant and other tasty pastries, and I must say, they exceeded my expectations. The almond croissant was simply divine, with a flaky and buttery texture complemented by a generous almond filling. The other pastries were equally delightful, showcasing the expertise and attention to detail of the boulangerie's skilled bakers.

Cinnamon bun was unfortunately quite dry. The almond pain au chocolat and flat white were okay.

The best croissants in Delft, is a bit pricey, but to go from time to time is worth it, the sandwiches a bit small for the price, cappuccino very tasty

The food here is fantastic! My only issue was that the opening times do not seem to be up to date. My bf and I rushed to the place and quickly grabbed smth to go as it just turned 2pm however they allowed people after us to still sit down and order in. But its really a small thing that in the end did not bother me much! Worth it for the food!

I tried a piece of lemon pie and dark chocolate cake at my friends BTD party that made by Michel. Both of them where super delicious. I can’t forget them taste.

Lovely little cafe , coffee was ok , but no cash is taken !!!! I wanted to go elsewhere but the mrs insisted we comply with the no cash totalitarian regime…

Finally some tasty bread in The Netherlands! I will come back with great pleasure 🥖

A very modest French bakery! Everything tastes pretty authentic and homemade. The staff there is welcoming, also pretty comfortable switching languages; they could speak over 3 different languages including french.

Service is fast and everything was very tasty. Definitely recommend. Bon a petit..

First time we came here. The place looks lovely and has a cozy feel to it. It was our servers first day, but he was so nice and he took the time to explain everything, great service. The coffee and food was delicious and everything was freshly made. We had a ham/cheese baguette and the goats cheese quiche, all perfectly made. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a lovely breakfast/start of our day!

Croissantjes, brood en taartjes bestellen in het frans 😉 Dit is overduidelijk een bakker met een Franse opleiding en hier vindt je dus echt Frans brood van uitstekende kwaliteit. Ook leuk voor een ontbijtje, koffie of een broodje.

Tasty offerings and nice ambiance

I had 40 minutes for a "quick" breackfast so I came to this bakery who everybody loves. The place is very boheme and cute, but we didn't have the best experience. There were people in the bakery, but it was not that full. Anyway, the waitress looked very stressed, and it took almost 25 minutes to bring our capuccinos. Moreover, the food she brought was not what I ordered... however it was already so late for me that I just took it. The price was ok, and I am more than willing to improve my review if I have better experiences in the future, but the service was not amazing in my opinion. Food is tasty.

I love this place. First of all, a must for all those who do not like the soft bread which is usually available in the Netherlands. They offer true bread such as baguettes or loaf of bread of different flavors. Personnel is very friendly. Also the pastry is very good ( I recommend the simple brioche, which reminds me of the traditional Italian "maritozzo"). Sometimes bread can be a bit hard, as it is probably baked for too long. Occasionally, I also have breakfast there with a friend or colleague. All in all, probably the best bakery in Delft.. Having said that, it would be good to have a more regular pattern during the week of the type of bread available. For instance, sometimes, apparently randomly, one can find baguettes rustique, that are pretty good, but in now way one can predict when they are available next time.

Very good sourdough, which is hard to come across in NL. Nice coffee as well. Friendly staff and nice indoor and outdoor seating area. Would love a few cushioned chairs though, as hard wood quickly becomes uncomfortable

If you need proper, good bread in the Netherlands, look no further than the French! Michel offers up excellent bread and pastries, and the cafe itself is a lovely place to sit on a sunday morning, although I often find there are many families and small children, which adds to the noise level. On a weekend morning, the queue extending out the door really attests to the quality of this place!

Very exciting to find such a place in Delft with fresh, French-style pastries.

Beste cappuccino ever! Met een chocolade eclair die ook van topkwaliteit is. Echt een pareltje dit. De vers gebakken broden gaan idd als warme broodjes over de toonbank.

Vooral over heerlijke croissants, brood of wat lekkers bij de koffie zit je daar goed. Een beetje gehorig als je daar een bakkie doet, maar ook dat geeft weer sfeer. Kortom een aanrader.

Nous avons été très très bien accueillies, petite cour à l’arrière très sympathique et surtout nous avons très bien mangé : en particulier les petits chaussons ratatouille et thon ! Super adresse !
