We were offered something different than what we had ordered, including double the price, but our waitress stubbornly insisted that what we had ordered could not be returned and that therefore we had to pay for it. P.S. No tip was given here;-( other staff seemed and acted hospitable )

The pastries are too sweet and the service is not very attentive. Sandwich a little dry.

Located next to the old town and a canal, it is within walking distance of Markt and the old church, but the store was actually established in 2012 and is quite new. From the name of the store, Bakker Suikerbuik, you can tell that the store focuses on baking and pastries. In addition, the store also provides light meals for breakfast, brunch and lunch. The Bakkers Lunch in the "Classic Dutch" ordered this time is simple, with only one crepe and a bowl of soup. The crepe is full of fragrance overall, the outer skin is well fried, and the fillings that are mostly contained are not easy to taste at first bite, but the taste is rich. It is even more fragrant and rich when paired with the equally fragrant soup. Although the items are simple and the portion is not large at first glance, it is actually quite filling after eating. The environment may make people like it more. Being close to the canal is already a plus point. The decorations from the outside, semi-outdoor, to the inside are all friendly and pleasant, and have a little texture. Perhaps because of the delicious food and great environment, Bakker Suikerbuik is very popular among locals. When the weather is nice and comfortable, it is really pleasant to sit outdoors or semi-outdoors to drink coffee and eat a light meal.

De Suikerbuik is een mooie locatie en, ondanks dat de appeltaart te koud werd geserveerd en de slagroom veel te stijf was geklopt, waren we eigenlijk heel tevreden op deze drukke zaterdag met de service. Totdat we - tot onze stomme verbazing- door een serveerster werden gesommeerd onze 4 persoons tafel te verlaten omdat er 4 andere gasten aankwamen en wij met 2 waren. We moesten maar naar een ' tweetje' verkassen, terwijl er nog ruim plek was voor deze vier nieuwe mensen en wij er al zeker een half uur zaten, met het vuile serviesgoed nog op tafel. We hadden net ons taartje en de koffie op en de tafel was zelfs nog niet afgeruimd ook. Mijn man pakte net zijn krantje, maar we sprongen op, moesten nog afrekenen, naar het toilet en zowel deze onbeschofte serveerster als de vier gasten reageerden totaal niet op ons gedwongen vertrek. Ik heb werkelijk nog nooit meegemaakt dat ik op deze manier word behandeld in een horeca gelegenheid. We voelen ons heel onbeschoft behandeld. Bij de kassa mijn verhaal verteld en de medewerker daar putte zich uit in excuses en ik gaf aan dat dit zeer ongastvrije gedrag besproken moet worden in het team. Wij komen hier nooit meer terug. Wat een gênante vertoning. Omzet gaat hier voor gastvrijheid.

The service is good. The atmosphere is good if you sit at a table with a view of the street. The cakes are surprisingly sweet though.

Hot chicken sandwich was really waaaaay too hot. The guests next to us said the same. Owner doesn't want to hear any criticism and just walks away.. A bit of a shame..don't come here anymore

Friendly and welcoming staff. Unfortunately, the croque Madame was not tasty. A huge baguette with hard dried out cheese and the wrong ham. I don't know what exactly it was. Two dried out fried eggs. Too bad!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this bakery/restaurant in the historical center of Delft 😍 We sat on the terrace right next to a beautiful canal 😍 with famous leaning Old Church in background and enjoyed splendid hospitality (in English & Dutch). Good cappuccino & best apple cake in NL😋. Everything was delicious 😋 and amazingly fresh! ZO GEZELLIG 😁 Highly recommended 👌 Owner Mylene is the BEST! Such warm, welcoming customer service!

We had breakfast here and everything was very good. Homemade cream. Expensive but normal in Holland. 20 euros. 2 chocolates and 4 pieces of pastries. 2 Croissants, a chocolate braid and a chocolate bun.

Today I went this place, before sitting a table asked to waitress if I can use my laptop while eating and drinking something. She said I can absolutely use. Then I asked another waitress for a socket. She pointed a 2 seater table and said me that I can unplug the table lamp and use the socket for my laptop. I sat the table, plug my laptop and while I was checking the menu, another waitress (3rd one) came and asked me why the light went off on my table. I said that her colleague said me I can unplug this lamp and use the socket. Then she asked “how many hours am I planning to sit here?, am I planning to sit and study whole day?” like questions. I said I am planning to study for 2-3 hours. Then she asked me if I have a child with me, when I said I am alone, she said that this place is a family place and normally they don’t want things like that and without listening me she moved away. I didn’t understand what was the problem. Being alone, having a laptop, unplugging the table lamp (even though it was other waitress’ idea)… I don’t know. But I got clearly kicked off. Before I leave the place I said they should write somewhere this place is a family place and they don’t let using laptops. She said there are lots of coffee bars for studying and I should go them. Thanks to her for kind recommendations but I don’t think I will never come again even with my family or friends here. I felt very sorry for this rudeness.

Bakker Suikerbuik in Delft was a lovely surprise. The café is tucked away in a charming spot near the old center and has an interesting story, what started as a bakery evolved into a cozy family, friendly café, with a focus on fresh, homemade food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We had the soup of the day, which was spicy and full of flavor, really comforting. The croquette was also excellent, especially paired with the mustard. You can choose between white or brown bread, and both were fresh and delicious. The waiters were all beautifully kind, friendly and helpful. The coffee really impressed us too, our cappuccinos and espressos were smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. We also tried some cakes and pies, and each one was a treat. I’m definitely coming back to explore more of the menu. The decor is charming and cozy, with a relaxed vibe that makes you want to stay a bit longer. One of my favorite things was the kids’ play area, it’s such a thoughtful touch. It made it easy to enjoy our coffee and cake while the little ones played nearby. Overall, it’s a great place to unwind and enjoy simple, well-made food in a space that clearly puts people first. Recommend it , and the best place to go if you have small kids.

The service was not enjoyable today. Upon entering we were not greeted and actually a bit ignored. Are you allowed to sit somewhere or do we have to wait until we are assigned a spot: I have no idea. Finally got seated after we asked. We also had to ask for a menu. I still thought they were busy: let it go. However, the longer it sat there, the worse it got. I don't think it is the intention that customers understand that you are busy, that 'staff who are not normally in the kitchen are now in the kitchen' in response to another guest who was not satisfied. That is snarled at staff while they are still standing at a table of guests. That a woman is casually told upon entering that 'the pram is not allowed to be there because otherwise no one can pass!'. If someone says they don't want black bread, it seems normal to me to ask what they would have liked. But the sign was simply taken away. “No lunch for you.” Very bad service. Couldn't enjoy my food. Wanted to leave as quickly as possible. I understand that you are stressed because your staff is sick or on holiday and that it is busy because of the holidays. But customers shouldn't notice that from the manager. The whole team suffered. Perhaps the regular customers are used to the rude and snarky behavior of the owner/manager and accept it and tourists see it as 'Dutch directness', but it was not okay. You won't win us with this. Atmosphere is everything.

A perfect place for a light meal and especially for coffee and cake. Amazing selection, good service, the cathedral spire watching over, on the bank of the canal And a caressing spring sun.

We ordered coffee and when it was brought, the woman who brought it was very pushy. She asked if we had already selected pastries, if we had wanted this we would have ordered it right away. She acted angry and asked if we knew where we were. Which is completely irrelevant. Once but never again

We had already walked past the day before and when we saw the delicious cakes we decided to come back the next day for a piece of cake with a drink. We were immediately welcomed cheerfully by a cheerful waitress. You have a wide choice of cakes that you can choose yourself in the bakery's display case. The cakes were fine. I think it's a shame that we had already had lunch because I especially thought the sandwiches on the table at the neighbors looked good. The mega club sandwich is also really mega! Too bad the weekend is already over, otherwise I would have liked to try it. The latte macchiato decafé was the first latte macchiato in Delft that had really good layers. However, there was a dirty spoon with it, just like with my girlfriend's coffee. Another downside is a chandelier that is very large and low and hangs between 2 tables. Even though it is beautiful, I have already seen 2 people walk into it. If I ever come to Delft again, I will come back for the mega club sandwich. 1) Terrible! I advise against it, I will never come back! 2) Too bad, below my expectations, I will not come again. 3) Ok, nothing wrong with it, but not special, nice for 1 time. 4) Fine, worth coming back. 5) Excellent! I recommend it, I will definitely come back!

It's a shame that some restaurants mess around too much with dishes. A sandwich here is not a sandwich but half toasted baguette with the wrong ham on it. Very expensive and not edible. Service took a long time.

Very nice tent! Had lunch here during a day in Delft and enjoyed an excellent meal. I had a fried egg and a caramel latte, both tasted good. Unfortunately, the timing of the service was poor: there were six of us, but three of us received our food much earlier than the rest. Eventually we had to start because otherwise it would get cold, and only when we were almost done did the others get their dishes. That was a shame, because otherwise the experience was great!

Had high tea on Sunday afternoon with a group of former colleagues. The reserved table was ready, but it was a bit close to the front door and the cold weather made it uncomfortable to sit. Moving to another location was handled smoothly at our request. Friendly smooth service. High tea in two rounds with plenty of good hot water for tea. Also a lot of choice in tea. Plates and etagère not super luxurious, but we had the normal high tea. First round with all kinds of delicious sweet snacks and chocolate. Fortunately, the second savory round only comes to the table when we are ready, which is nice. What we don't eat during the rounds is taken home in two separate bags, which is nice. During cold months it sometimes gets a bit chilly if the door or something else is open for a moment, that is the only downside of this afternoon.

Food was good. Has many types of cakes and some pastries.

In de aanloop naar oudjaar oliebollen gekocht, toen de eigenaar stond te bakken op de Markt. Oliebollen waren prima! Besloten om op oudjaarsdag weer te halen. Wat een deceptie! Oliebollen waren niet gaar, hadden een melige vulling. De appelbeignets hadden te veel kaneel en je kon ze uitknijpen van de olie. Waarschijnlijk vanwege de drukte nog gauw even een voorraadje er door heen gejaagd? Wij gaan een volgend keer hier niet meer halen, aanbod genoeg in Delft en slechter dan deze ervaring kan bijna niet.

Oliebollen gehaald maar waren niet te eten. Melige substantie, geel meel en amper krenten. Eigenaar deed ze heel snel in het vet. Vieze nasmaak. Nooit meer

Well it is indeed a place with a nice play area for children at the back. you can have something to eat while your child plays. BUT..... It feels more like a scam. Of course you attract parents with children. But the tableware is all glass. the owner gets quite rude if an accident happens and your child drops something. for example chocolate milk etc. No places for a stroller. This means that you have to leave the stroller where it is not visible. Even outside. Or the stroller is in the way. Nice place, but a lot needs to improve if you really want to be child friendly.

A day of shopping started with lunch for us. We were surprised by this bakery. The environment is warm and cozy. The service is very friendly. And the food is particularly delicious. I had the croque madam. This was overwhelmingly large and super tasty! Our day started off great!

To start with, a gentleman who is a little older, around 50-60, is super friendly. Fries were delicious and the price is also very good, normal fries 3.10 euros. Definitely recommended!

Delicious Delft roll with latte machiatto, delicious and quite strong

Good coffee and tasty pastries. The Delft dumplings filled with whipped cream are especially a real treat, delicious. But a tip "to whom it concerns" be friendly and polite. If you have a bad day for whatever reason, you can, but stay home or do something else. Yesterday morning I was served by someone who clearly didn't feel like it and was quite blunt and short in communication. That is indecent and not inviting at all.

Food is good but you will need time. We had to wait 45min for the food. And paying by credit card is 1,50€ extra.

Together with my girlfriend and our children we came here for a drink on a rainy morning. It was busy, we were a somewhat larger group, but we had chosen this place specifically because of the space to play. However, the employee indicated that they were full. Other guests wanted to make room for us, because there was a table available, but we were shown the door again. Rarely have I been treated so unfriendly, which is a shame. If you are not actually welcome with children, I don't really understand why the play area is there.

The farmer's omelette was too brown and had a burnt taste.

Highly recommended if you are visiting Delft! Parking in front of the door is not always possible due to markets, but it is easy to walk to from a parking garage nearby. At the front there were tables on the sidewalk and on the canal with parasols, making it possible to sit outside when the weather is nice. The play area at the back of the store is large and equipped with a stair gate. A reassurance for parents with children who run away. This store consists of two parts. A restaurant area and a shop where you can buy the most delicious pastries. If you want to buy Delft bulbs, be on time, because they are sold out within a few hours. There are enough tables inside for 2, 4 or even a large group. It can be busy here, but there are plenty of staff who will help you quickly and politely. The savory lunch is highly recommended! Various small snacks, soup and salad. Disabled people can also go here. There is a disabled toilet and everything is on one level and easily accessible.

Very cute cafe by the canal, it’s quite pleasant to be outside when the weather is good. Had a couple of nice slices of cake (lemon and apple pie - though the latter was a bit too cold) and a couple of drinks and everything went well. Fair price for what we ordered too. I would recommend it!

Taking an order is a funny thing, the lady arrives at the table saying "can I help you" in French and as a result I speak French and she looks at me strangely as if this language was forbidden... I continued my order in Dutch, the lady seemed unfriendly to me. On the other hand, the dishes ordered were delicious, compliments to the chef 👍🏻 Very noisy at the back because of the children's playroom

Great food. Large portions. Best vegan salad I had in NL (though not on the menu)! Very accommodating to a vegan diet and made changes to meals.

Very nice place to enjoy a cup of coffee and cake with small kids. Kids can play in the large play corner and parents can relax. Been a few times now and will definitely come back again. Stroller space is limited, so you can request to store it at the beginning of the store. Changing room is available. You cannot park your car in front of the door, but you can park your bicycle. Lots of nice other shops nearby too.

Super tasty food with a wide choice on the menu, definitely worth a visit

Very very good surprise. Warm welcome, the owner found us a table for 6. Without asking, she brought our dog water and two dog biscuits Good and hearty meal for a reasonable price.

Finally, after a long time, I was able to drink a hot cup of tea while the children had a great time playing 😜

Just settled here for lunch with a tablemate. Both ordered a savory platter and the contents were not disappointing! Very tasty cheese roll, sauce roll, mini soup, mini Russian salad and sandwiches (very richly filled and tasty brie + chutney and smoked ham). And for less than 9 euros. Very good value for money! Last winter we were also very satisfied with the bag full of oliebollen that we could buy here without a queue (the oliebollen stall opposite had a queue of half an hour). In short, a nice store!

I cannot overstate how incredible this place was. I would highly recommend a visit when in Delft. The service was wonderful with very friendly staff. The baker’s breakfast was fantastic. Very pleased!

Friendly welcome, the door was opened from afar and we were welcomed. The coffee & fresh mint tea came with super crispy macaroons. Lots of fresh mint sprigs to make fresh mint tea. The dishes look great: bouncer, panini, healthy sandwich. But it is served on a stone-cold plate, so food cools down very quickly. The serrated knives are super blunt, quite annoying because you have to chop and saw. The bread dishes did not contain (cream) butter. And the healthy sandwich was quite overloaded with healthy food, value for money you could say. We did not use the specific bakery specialties, but I think it is definitely worth it.

We did not order food and for this reason it seems that the owners did not like that we only came in for a drink, they were quite rude and when we left, the owner opened the door for me very reluctantly. Gezellige bakker in het centrum van Delft. We hebben er iets gedronken en een omelet gegeten. De omelet was aan de randen te donker (zwart). (Mede) door de grote kerstboom was het wat krap boven. Delicious bakery by the canals. For the bakery items, simply go to the front and choose your pastries. We had the most fresh apple pie we’d had during our whole stay in Amsterdam. The staff were friendly. If there’s an open table outside, definitely get it because then you get an awesome view of the green canals as you’re enjoying some tasty sweets.

If you have kids and like a lazy weekend brunch you can't beat Bakker Suikerbuik. They have: Good coffe Yummy beverages. An indoor playground and.... Cupcakes! The view ain't bad either. Book ahead on the weekends.

One of the best spots in Delft. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Fantastic breakfast options and delicious coffee, plus amazing baked goods. The gluhwein is a winter favorite and the uitsmijter is the best in town. Also get a Delftsebol while you're there.

High tea voor 3 personen afgehaald. Was goed verzorgd, ruim voldoende en erg lekker! Zeker aan te bevelen!

This patisserie is perfect. Apple pie is perfect. Cosy atmosphere, blankets on outdoor chairs, kids zone, comfortable toilets, super friendly and perfect service. I wish this patisserie more success in the future.

Leuk plekje waar ik af en toe kom voor koffie of thee en lekkers. En dat lekkers is er volop! Vooral de Delftse Bol, werkelijk verrukkelijk. Daar kom je voor terug. Wel een hele maaltijd, want hij is enorm. Maar mij hoor je niet klagen, want alles eraan is héérlijk. Ideaal om heen te gaan met je kleine kind vanwege de speelruimte die keurig verzorgd is en leuk speelgoed heeft.

Leuke locatie om goed en lekker te eten. Cappuccino is erg goed. Prijzen vallen nog mee.
