Been to Bowie quite a few times by now and have tried it for casual drinks or cocktails, brunch, or dinner. The dinner menu is quite extensive and with a contemporary twist on Mediterranean/French classics. The wine list has also great and numerous options. Overall highly recommend!

Super nice tent, very busy. Book in advance and pay 45 euros in advance for 3 people. Check the menu in advance, quite unusual dishes.

Nice place with good wines. The atmosphere is pleasant and the location is beautiful. We have been here for dinner three times now, but unfortunately it has been disappointing each time. The bites are delicious, but the main courses lack flavor. Last time we ordered the crab, but the meat had little flavor and the sauce used with some of the crab was bitter and not tasty. Afterwards we were still hungry and ordered the deer tartare, but unfortunately it was way too salty. The dessert, on the other hand, was very good. All in all, I would go back for the wine and the bites, but not for dinner anymore.

What a nice restaurant, right in the regentessekwartier. Staff are friendly. Food is special, but tasty. Very busy on Friday evenings, reservations are recommended!

The location and staff was good. Especially the atmosphere and decor is what makes the place amazing but the food was not mind blowing at all and I expect very good quality if you pay around €170 for two ppl. Very expensive!!

Everything great. Entry-level wine is quite well priced (a bottle from €30 wouldn't hurt). End times are really a hard end time. Understandable, but it would be nice if you could quietly finish your glass at the bar. Now the receipt was placed on the table without asking, ending a perfect evening a bit abruptly. But we will definitely come back. Great asset to the neighborhood 👍

Tucked away from the main road is a wine bar with a great array of wines, mostly of French grape varieties. My friends and I went there for wine and „hapjes“. The bread was super soft and airy on the inside, with a lovely crust on the outside. The olives were a perfect accompaniment. The Primitivo was okay, a bit on the young side, but enjoyable. We visited in the afternoon and considered staying for dinner or enjoying some warmer tapas, but the vegetarian options seemed quite limited. This place is perfect for those who enjoy wine and would like to explore different types.

Ik schreef in April 2024 al een beoordeling over Bar Bowie en aangezien er hier nog geen vermelding was maakte ik een nieuw restaurant aan, althans dat dacht ik. Tripadvisor heeft mijn beoordeling aan "De Wereld" gekoppeld en daar is hij niet volledig leesbaar. Inderdaad is Bowie een aanwinst in dit deel van Den Haag. Na een lange intensieve verbouwing staat er iets moois. Er was niet echt plek om te eten, maar we kregen een plekje links aan de bar dat eigenlijk een rond tafeltje in het bar meubel is, dus daar kun je best gezellig eten. Goed idee ook om bij reservering voor een diner een bedrag per persoon te verlangen zodat het restaurant niet met een no show kan worden opgezadeld. Alleen weer onhandig als je de rekening split en vergeet het reserveringsbedrag bij de rekening op te tellen.... Volgens mij heb ik ook wat over de gerechten gezegd, maar kan dat nu niet duidelijk terugvinden. Ik geef dit oordeel dezelfde titel als het origineel. Mocht in de toekomst blijken dat het oudere review toegankelijk wordt, zal ik een en ander in elkaar schuiven. Ik zal zeker bij Bar Bowie terugkeren en heb het al diverse malen aanbevolen.

How happy I walked out of your restaurant. I really enjoyed what you made especially for me due to a loken allergy. It was refined and very tasteful. The service was extremely professional and, above all, very friendly. RECOMMENDED

Nice popular place but very noisy place. You can barely hear each other so something about the acoustics is not very good there. Food was fine but the service is very messy and chaotic. If you can sit outside it's much better.

It is exactly 420 km that we need to travel to Bar Bowie. But we have already been guests there twice this year, also to celebrate the 40th birthday of the love of my life: it feels like staying in a safe space with neighbors - with an impressive interior, good wine, excellent cuisine, one good selection of music and above all: a casual atmosphere with suitable lighting. Similar to the other two restaurants Walter Benedict and Café Franklin, the owners have created a DNA here that is unmistakably the basis of a good restaurant.

This is our favorite place to go when we have friends visiting or want to go out. The staff is super friendly, and it's always cozy inside. The food is amazing, and they're always changing up the menu. They also have a great selection of wines. It's such a lovely place to share precious moments with family and friends.

Busy, yet intimate and cozy! Service is really great, I can't say anything else. Think along with you and understand how it works. The food is super tasty, portions sometimes a bit too small for what you pay for it. I will definitely come here again!

Nice place but can improve. Some of the dishes were good, others quite disappointing like the cod cheeks - totally flavourless. The mussels were also so spicy that was hard to eat them.

The waitress with dark hair was terrible. She treated my white female friend warmly and interacted with her and ignored us "non whites". She also constantly tried to pass and wedge herself between me and another guest from another table. Yes, even during dinner! Get some new staff ASAP. She could have walked around, but she obviously couldn't be bothered. These kids nowadays have no manners and are unfit for the real world. The food was OK, nothing special. The cheese and cracker for €10,50 is the worst starter I've seen in my life. One slice of cream cheese and a broken tortilla like shell. Something out of a student restaurant. I think it was the most expensive starter they had and no restaurant should serve it. March 5 additions: -Upon entry the waitress was explaining something and while we were listening she asked us if we spoke Dutch, which is always an awkward question especially if you ARE Dutch. -The waitress only asked our white friend if everything is satisfactory. - A male waiter had a steak knife dangerously close to my face, which startled me.

Nice ambiance, very attentive service and good quality. The bistecca alla fiorentina was perfect, the oysters beforehand were also of good quality. Pleasant wines. We will definitely come here again!

Really nice restaurant with lovely ambiance and fantastic food! Overall, the price is okay, the staff is friendly, I can only recommend this vaguely French bistro with some classic but also more creative dishes. Will be back!

Everything always it’s ok nice and relax place

Went back to Bowie for the second time. New menu so it was very surprising again. Everything is well put together, the service runs as it should and everything tastes super refined. Huge asset for The Hague.

Very nice and sunny place. The only minus point is that they tried to scam us by putting more things on the bill than we ordered. This "expat treatment" is unfortunately a very common practice in the Hague, so we don't hold it against them.

Dat kom je zelden tegen: - Blij en vriendelijk personeel! - Heerlijk eten mooie combinaties - Gezellige sfeer 2 min puntjes: Jammer dat de menu kaart niet anders is vormgegeven, nu moet bij iedere gast een uitleg gegeven worden Puntje 2 de stoelen staan wel heel dicht op elkaar Maar je ziet ons weer!

Gezellige locatie, zaten op een leuk terras. Eten was helemaal top, van borrelhap t/m toetje. Uitgebreide wijnkaart, kozen voor een volle Rioja rosé. Toen de smaak niet helemaal ok was, zonder enig probleem een nieuwe fles. Zeer vriendelijke bediening. Niet goedkoop, maar dat was het meer dan waard!

Have eaten here twice now, it's a treat! A fantastic wine list, mostly the “old world” as it should be. The bites are great, the dishes themselves are simply delicious, no-nonsense. It's all special and original what you're presented with, but it doesn't make any sense. High in taste, innovative, inspiring, in short, incredibly delicious. Very good staff, you really feel seen here. Very tasty food, which is all just a little bit special. I really liked the poulet as a main course. And the white cheese as a snack is highly recommended (I forget the name).

I went for breakfast because I was in the neighborhood and it was AMAZING! The terrace looks very nice, and the food and coffee were great! Can't wait to go for dinner and try the wines!

Absolutely fantastic food cooked with heart ❤️! Chef Steven has magic in his hands! The T bone though pricey is worth every Euro! The prawns were down in a lovely subtle red sauce, the fish with mussels was super succulent! Steak Tartare done different but fantastic! Kudos 👏🏽 cocktails are a must!

We have visited it twice for lunch and found both times that the whole experience was great! Will come again for sure!

We went on a Friday after work. Luckily, we were able to get seated, but I would highly recommend making a reservation. Had the kohlrabi - never knew a vegetable could taste so darn good! It has inspired me to incorporate kohlrabi into my cooking!

No idea why this place has such excellent reviews. I went for dinner with friends, the food was average at best and we probably ordered almost half the menu. Our waiter was nice but when we needed to pay, he was outside putting tables away and we were blatantly ignored by the rest of the staff even though it was almost empty by then. It was disappointing because it’s a nice place and in my neighborhood but I won’t be going back.

Bowie is een aanwinst voor Den Haag, maar speciaal voor de wijk. Het wordt steeds leuker om hier te wonen en Bar Bowie is daar zeker onderdeel van. Mooi interieur, fijn terras, vriendelijk en kundig personeel en lekker eten. De avondkaart vind ik wel iets uitgebreider dan die lunchkaart, maar dan nog blijft het top. Goeie wijnkaart, alleen wel wat dure flessen. Maar wij konden de wijn die per glas werd verkocht ook als fles krijgen en dat scheelde. Gerechten komen als kunstwerkjes uit de keuken, maar gelukkig niet té gekunsteld. En dat omschrijft Bar Bowie het best: grote aanwinst voor Den Haag, goed eten, fijne sfeer (volle tent altijd, maar iedereen doet z’n ding) maar niet gekunsteld of over the top!

I'm baffled this place is so popular. Nothing about it stood out except having to pay a deposit for a reservation and the food being overpriced. The description of the items in the menu was not appetizing and when we actually ordered my entire party found the food combinations to be bizarre and not tasty. The service was pretty mediocre. The restaurant smelled like fish (not in a good way) the whole time and I had the same experience when I went for a mediocre breakfast. The cocktail menu also was nothing special.

What a wonderful experience! After working in the catering industry for 23 years, I always like to see people still working with passion and love for the profession. I had dinner with my girlfriend for the first time at Bowie because I had heard a lot about it and an ex-colleague worked there, but unfortunately Sophie was not there. What struck me was the good service, very attentive and caring. The food outside was just wow, how delicious. There was a small minus point and that was the vongols. About 8 were not opened but there were plenty that were open. I was satisfied with the ones that were open because they were delicious. I did report it to the employee and she apologized! Perfect, it can happen. When we were done I asked for the bill and she indicated that the French fries we ordered were on the house. I thought that was very thoughtful because it is about being heard and a lot of attention. Wauuuwww they know what they are doing and that's how it should be. Thank you to Bowie you were great! Big compliment to the staff and service. Very satisfied customer. See you soon, because we will definitely be back!

Great place for lunch and dinner. The menu is unique and the food is vertly tasty. I also love that water is just directly brought to your table and is free of charge as it should be. Comes highly recommended.

I have been a few times before, it was a bit of a wait but a good experience and the food was nice. Unfortunately today I came in, sat without service for 15 minutes (it was not busy) and then when someone finally came over she said I couldn’t order food so I had waited for no reason. I am a waitress myself and would cringe at the thought of leaving a guest just sit at a table without even a menu for 15 minutes. Anyway, this might be something to consider for the future. I will still be a customer in the future and think Bowie is a great addition to the neighbourhood.

As a neighbor of this relatively new restaurant, I spontaneously tried to arrive at Bowie a few times before. This proved difficult given the consistently high occupancy rate. That's why I was very pleased when I was offered a catered evening as a surprise. The high expectations were absolutely met. What a treat to eat here. Even for someone who is not really fond of (traditional) French cuisine. Everything is correct! Whether it concerns the attractive decor, the nice and well-trained staff, but above all delicious food and drinks... Beautiful modern French cuisine with its own twist and delicious wines. The enthusiasm of the young owners is reflected in everything. Not really cheap but definitely worth the money. An example as it should be more often in the catering industry... In short, an asset to the Regentessekwartier in several respects My tip: Make sure you have a late reservation and just enjoy... It is pleasantly busy until late at night.

Fan! I like to come there for various reasons: just a coffee, breakfast, a nice dinner or a glass of wine.

Chill area, great for lunch and brunch. Plenty seatings available. Service is great, friendly people serves you. Menu option is good, i chose breakfast menu that seems new for me: smoked mackerel, fennel, apple, horseradish, dill oil & mizuna. Interesting combination, surprisingly works! (bit of advice: more on the dill oil, apple + horserading slices *and* a bit of lemon rasp-perfection). Would take out a friend to do brunch here next time.

I went to Bowie to celebrate my birthday, and it was a delightful surprise. The staff is super nice and helpful. The dishes were amazingly delicious; everything we ordered was perfect! I super recommend trying the oxheart cabbage, it was my favourite!!! The atmosphere is super cozy and nice. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to eat good food in a nice place.
