A very cozy restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere!

Great atmosphere, delicious food, beautiful bowling alley. One minor disappointment was that after the Magic Bites we ordered tea and it was served in a sterile, white, non-magical medicine box.......a missed opportunity.

Bowling lanes are not very smooth. Nice for a recreational game of bowling, a drink, and a snack.

The magic bites remain amazing. Merlijn was one of the first to offer original tapas from all corners of the world. For several years now, the menu has changed seasonally, and then annually as well. I have been here over 10 times over the years and had a great meal every single time. Keep up the good work!

We have been coming here 2-3 times a year for a few years now. It has never disappointed us. They regularly have a different menu depending on the season. The dishes always look Michelin-star worthy. And every time, we are amazed that all the dishes (8 pieces, 4 people) arrive at the same time. So if you have never been, it is highly recommended and well worth the drive. We are from beautiful Almere.

Tasty food, especially for an all-you-can-eat concept. Personally, I was a bit disappointed with the toast or bread accompanying several dishes, but the main product was very delicious.

Nothing wrong I can say about this placereally and food is good for the price. However due to a very dense seating plan it is noisy and service can take bit longer and is less personal

Apparently, they expect you to only leave good reviews, which I find annoying. A lot was already pre-filled, so I changed that. It is still a reasonably good concept/restaurant, but compared to a few years ago, it has become a lot worse. We arrived at 4:50, but due to the way they handle things, we couldn't start ordering until around 5:15. The dishes are a lot less tasty, and for me, there is less choice. A lot was also too spicy for me; even the "sweet, sticky cola chicken" had pieces of pepper. The decor was also less appealing.

The location is great and the atmosphere is cozy. The food is good and the service is excellent too. The only downside I have is the following: there is no time in between lanes for bowling. So your time starts running while the people before you still have to leave the lane. I was unlucky enough that those people lingered, so I had to ask them to make room myself because our time was already running. At the lane next to me, people just kept bowling on the time of the people after them. As a result, the turn of the first person who was supposed to bowl on their lane was already over. It would be nice if there was a minute or five between lanes for the changeover.

Had another lovely evening here at Merlijn. Sat in the new section for the first time. It looked cozy. The only downside I found was that our table was positioned very close to the neighboring tables. I thought that was much better in the other setting. Now for the food. Oh, what a fantastic menu again! So hard to choose. Our favorites this evening: the steak with peppercorn sauce, the marinated watermelon with feta, and the shrimp ring! And and and... The service was very alert and friendly! They regularly came to ask if we wanted another drink, or if we had a question about the menu. (The only one who really needs to work on her attitude is the one at the entrance! How welcome we felt inside the restaurant. That was certainly not the case in the entrance hall or when we were leaving. Being nice costs nothing.) In summary: enjoyed ourselves again! And had a delicious meal 😁

We had a delicious meal and went bowling here with our four children. The bowling alley might be a bit outdated, but that doesn't detract from the fun; the children found the interactive section very funny. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and it was also fun for the children to keep picking out something new. The menu was always collected quickly, and the food was brought within a reasonable timeframe.

I have eaten at this restaurant a number of times and it always tastes good.

Orders were handled quickly and correctly, and the service was very friendly. Beautiful location with a bit of an Efteling feel. Bowling for an hour beforehand was also great fun.

Once is enough for us; we had to wait 30 minutes for the next round after every round, the dishes weren't particularly tasty either, sometimes even tough like the steak and pork tenderloin, there was no drinks menu on the table, and asking if we wanted another drink was out of the question when our glass was empty... No, after all the reviews I had high expectations, but we won't be coming back.

It wasn't busy on Sunday evening. But we had a great time. We celebrated our son's birthday. He thought it was absolutely fantastic! Nothing but compliments to the guys who were working ❤️ Especially in these difficult times, it's nice to see that there are still real hospitality workers!!

It's really nice that there is no time pressure. The only minor downside is that at the end of the evening, it took much longer for someone to come and take orders.

Had a kids' party. First bowling, then the arcade. Absolutely great. Unfortunately, the pizzas were very disappointing!

Unfortunately, the table was not clean. We missed the calamari rings😔 First we ordered a sweet rosé and then a dry rosé that the waiter wanted to pour into the same glass. Marlijn is going downhill….

Very friendly staff who are helpful and considerate; the food is tasty, only the steak was slightly overcooked. Portion size was perfect; I would definitely come here more often.

It was very thoughtful that we were called on the day of the visit to ask if we wanted to eat outside or inside. They even mentioned the times and the expected temperatures! :-)

I was there for the last time 2 years ago and it was much less tasty and the service was super long. I have been to Merlijn so often that I had to try it again and the service, food, and price were really top-notch. Keep it up, highly recommended.

We had dinner in Merlijn's garden; it had a really cool atmosphere. It was quite warm in the garden, especially if you were sitting in the sun, but the staff responded to that immediately and put out a number of parasols. The food was top-notch and the presentation was absolutely amazing. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

We were once invited for a first date, then enjoyed our wedding dinner there, and yesterday celebrated our 25th anniversary. It remains our favorite restaurant. As always, the service was friendly, efficient, and very hospitable. One small remark: when leaving the premises, guests held up outside the door so my wheelchair could pass through. This was followed by a few comments that the reception staff could have handled this. But otherwise, we would love to return.

Last Saturday, the four of us had a very enjoyable evening. We had a delicious meal in a very cozy atmosphere with very tasty food. The service is very fast. There is so much choice for everyone. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back again.

The food is delicious... more than that. And I'm also talking about the Chef I dined with. From arrival to departure, I was assisted very well by the staff. If I preferred not to have a sauce or anything similar with a dish, that was handled very well too... I'm actually quite a picky eater when it comes to flavors... but it was perfect... I thanked the staff walking around and have great respect for them. Wow... they can name every dish, walking back and forth with large trays. Truly hats off to them...

We had a wonderful afternoon bowling and Magic Bites with our 3 children. Everyone enjoyed themselves and it is definitely worth repeating.

What a madhouse. Maybe separate times/days for children and for 18+ for example (?). Just an hour of bowling with 5 adults, but apparently also with at least 40 screaming children. Another downside is that there is only 1 counter and 1 staff member to check in, take off and return shoes, and settle the bill. This causes waiting times and everyone is getting in each other's way in that small area. Otherwise, the interior is atmospheric and the staff is friendly.

The food is incredibly tasty. However, the desserts were completely sold out by 8:30, and it really was a case of 'when it's gone, it's gone.' Later, when paying the bill, I mentioned this, and I was told that this happens more often at the end of the week these days. Ridiculous..

We had a lovely meal with a group of 9 people. We sat at a high table with comfortable chairs. The service was very friendly and the orders were mostly handled well (one dish was forgotten once, but it was corrected immediately, so that was fine). The food was very tasty. One disappointment was my cheese croquette, which was still lukewarm/cold on the inside. The gyoza were deep-fried, which I also found a shame. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the meal! It was quite noisy in the room; sometimes it was a bit difficult to understand each other.

The last 3 times we've eaten there, and several times at bowling, the draft beer has a really gross, disgusting taste and smells very weird. We usually go with a large group and just switch to bottled beer. The lady behind the bar said she gets these complaints quite often. Please do something about it. Otherwise, it's always great!

Excellent atmosphere and food, portions are fine. The service is attentive and knowledgeable. If you want to enjoy a relaxed meal, I recommend making a reservation after 8:00 PM, beyond the time slots. A fine place to eat.

We celebrated my birthday with our family with delicious food at Bistro Merlijn. Wide selection, changes with the seasons, good quality in a fantastic atmosphere.

In principle, I ate reasonably well, but the beef bites (beef tenderloin skewers, steak, etc.) were really tough. Such a shame; unfortunately, I do think it has gone downhill a bit compared to a few years ago.
