Brasserie 1560 in Wijk 00 IJsselstein

After lighting the largest Christmas tree in the Netherlands, we walked into the charming town of IJsselstein. They still had a table available, and we had a fantastic meal. There was a slight issue with our order, which took a bit longer than expected, but they resolved that expertly and with a healthy dose of humor. The appetizers were delicious: scallops and tuna. The main course was tuna and halibut... we thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back. Thanks again for your flexibility and excellent service.

A lovely, atmospheric restaurant with friendly, efficient service. A good menu and good wine. One downside, which was a real shame, was that the appetizers are quite expensive for what you get, which is understandable, but it has to be excellent. Our appetizers were ice cold, which was a real shame, as it detracted from the flavor. Fortunately, the main course was excellent and a generous portion.

The food was delicious. Not cheap, but definitely worth it!

I was here on Sunday during the IJsselstein tasting. The service was very slow. I received a wine glass that came straight from the dishwasher; I couldn't see through it. I ordered three oysters and received two. The food was good, but it took forever to arrive. The staff seemed chaotic. The prices were completely out of proportion to the service.

Nice place, but it could be so much more. For the vegetarians among us, I'd say just keep walking. Little choice and nothing special. Still a long way to go in that regard, though.

Carte blanche surprise menu. Delicious food.

We had a delicious meal here recently, choosing the 5-course dinner with the chef's surprise menu. Beautifully presented plates filled with delicious dishes, especially the sweetbreads and the duck breast, which were exceptionally well-prepared and flavorful. The host explained everything clearly and kept a close eye on everything. We asked about wine pairings, and they were also perfectly arranged and paired well. Because of the heat outside, we decided to sit inside, where it was pleasantly cool.

What a disappointment. Brasserie 1560 was our favorite restaurant in Ijsselstein. Simple, accessible, good service and delicious food. Unfortunately everything has changed, apparently they want to join the big boys. Because of the small portions we were forced to drive to the Mac with the kids. And that while we paid a lot. We will not come back here. Not even for the terrace.

Unfortunately everything has changed. Such a shame. It was our regular outing every week. Noticed more and more decline. They always had Vegan croquettes and bitterballen for us. Vegan mayonnaise. Even Vegan desserts. But unfortunately. Vegan became vegetarian. And vegetarian became completely animal. If you ask if they can help you and that you have always been a regular customer 1/2 x per week. You get sorry no. Unfortunately never here again. Quality has also decreased. We are going to miss it enormously. I miss the old chef and the old policy.

How nice. A restaurant that serves nice food. This region needs that. Great, keep it up!

Had a beer this afternoon on Mother's Day. Choose from the barrel Brand beer whistle or vase. Whistle taken. What is my surprise... very small glass... the glass read 0.1.8... what a gigantic fake... the whistle must be at least 0.2 to 2.2. What a. Money grab. Don't sit here again.

Delicious food and super nice service

The concept of 1560 has changed a bit since the last time we were there. More towards fine dining than just eating a steak. Delicious food and well cared for.

1560, a charming location below the old town hall of IJsselstein. Today we ate dinner inside (fall). But in the summer we also like to sit on the terrace. Inside you are right under the cellar vaults. There is a cozy atmosphere. 1560 serves delicious food with a beautiful presentation and fast and very friendly service. The staff came by regularly to ask if everything was okay. And to arrange drinks. Top!

Nice gift for 50th wedding anniversary. Nice staff. Had a nice evening.

Our favourite place in IJsselstein to go for drinks in the afternoon at the terrace. Last week we tried a tasting of a new concept we heard they will introduce soon: the chefs' menu/carte blanche. We had the option to choose between 4 and 7 courses. Because of some of our time restrictions, we chose 4, and two of us (we were with four) also went for the wine pairing. It was a great experience. The dishes looked like pieces of art. The taste was immaculate. The (young) host, who is also the floor manager, was the sommelier for the night and did a great job. With the last course, the chef came to have a chat. Also a great, young guy with cool ideas. To not give away too much about the dishes itself: there were vegetarian, fish, and meat dishes involved and the wines were amazing as well. Will surely come back soon!

Had a very nice experience at Brasserie 1560. We were welcome for dinner with our dog. We were received very friendly, our dog was also greeted sweetly and immediately received a bowl of water. Really friendly staff and very good service. Food was also very tasty.

As mentioned, small portions and VERY EXPENSIVE. Food not special, especially for what it costs. Definitely look somewhere else next time.

Food was tasty, but...I personally don't think 1560 is what it used to be. Portions are much smaller, prices are higher, fries come separately (5.00) with a cardboard cup of mayo, I missed the cheese crisp on the carpaccio, etc. Dishes outside the menu are no longer available. In addition, I find the atmosphere much less pleasant. Especially the “little things” such as the Haagse Hopjes with the bill and the small block of butter cake with tea made 1560 a nice place. It is now neat, but distant and correct.

On a summer evening the terrace is not served at 7:45 PM (unfortunately due to a lack of staff). It is better to take a terrace in the street behind it. If you are earlier you can go to 1560 very tasty food.

Unprofessional, not knowledgeable, unfriendly, toilets not clean. Food not fresh, little taste, cafe latte: weak hot milk. In summary: no love to be found in the building, service or food. Shame.

Nieuwe chef-kok, nieuwe kaart. Waanzinnig lekker gegeten. Voorgerecht een overheerlijke vitello tonnato, tussen gerecht een bijzonder ravioli met lamsschenkel en hoofdgerecht de bavet. Interieur is wat ouderwets maar dat schijnen ze ook aan te willen pakken. Deze parel is een aanwinst voor culinair IJsselstein.

We kregen het soepje namens het huis niet. Pas na een opmerking onzerzijds gaf de serveerster aan, dat ze het vergeten was. De frietjes wat bij het hoofdgerecht hoorde, kregen we pas nadat we het hoofdgerecht op hadden. Geen goede service. We begrijpen dat door het tekort aan personeel dit allemaal kan gebeuren, maar we hadden verheugd op een gezellig uit eten gaan en dan is dit een domper.

Delicious food and very nice staff

The food was good with a choice of meat, fish and vegetarian. Some dishes came with fries, potatoes or bread. Other dishes were just fish and vegetables. There is an option to order something as a side dish. They also have a good wine list and various, including non-alcoholic, cocktails. It was quiet, probably because it was a Wednesday evening. That also made it a bit colder. They had small heaters for this purpose.

The ambience is very nice, but sitting next to the window was really cold, so I had to sit in the coat. We were offered a menu with sandwiches and salads to eat 😏at 3 p.m. 🤔 no soups and nothing hot. The food wasn't quite good - the salad was way too dry. The meat in the salad was way too hard.

We didn't receive a menu, but a laminated A4 with 4 salads, 5 sandwiches and there it was! There were only sandwiches for 7 euros and salads from 15 euros. There was nothing of the second course as presented on the website. The waiter was very polite and accommodating. The ambience is very nice, but it was very loud and cold at 3 p.m.

Excellent quality food at a reasonable price with pleasant and customer-oriented staff

Had lunch here on a Thursday afternoon with a friend. Enter the Brasserie and want to choose a table. We are the only customers at that time. We almost only see empty tables with a reserved sign on them. We were not allowed to sit at one of these tables. Very special since the place was empty and we were the only customers. We arrived at 1pm and left at 5pm. During that time there were 3 people who came together and therefore sat at one table. The reserved tables were still empty when we left!! Why couldn't we sit at a table of our own choice? Statement from the waiter “we keep the tables reserved in case several people (read 4) were allowed to come in” The place was empty!! and was still empty when we left!! This definitely does not show hospitality!!!

I would like to write a review but I did not eat there because the phone to make a reservation is simply not answered. Tried several times on different days. Extremely annoying. Because I wanted to make a reservation for a larger group, I couldn't do it online.

I give this brasserie 4 stars! The food was very good. The service was also perfect. Only the busier it got, the louder you had to talk to understand each other.

Lekker eten, aardige bedieners!

Heerlijk gegeten gisteren met 12 vrienden. Alles ging super, top bediening. Eten heerlijk en drank. Was super gezellig!

Lekker gegeten geitenkaas, kop gember thee, koffie, pittige broodtje kip. In begin was het rustiger kun je elkaar goed verstaan. Werd erg druk het klonk hol & echo effect. Zijn we wegegaan Plus punten aarfige beding & lekker eten. Minpunten Wc zijn erg smerig.,

Altijd leuk deze plek in "mijn" stadje of je nu op hun terras zit of zoals vanmiddag binnen. Gezellig vrolijke bediening, geweldige setting onder het eeuwenoude raadhuis en, niet onbelangrijk, heerlijk eten!

Nice outside ambience, overlooking the main street. Spacious seating, great service. Sufficient food options and surprising ingredients combinations through their dishes. Brasserie is in IJsselstein's historical townhouse.

We konden kiezen tussen een hoge tafel of een normaal formaat. Wij kozen voor een gezellige tafel in een hoek. Bijzonder dat je onder het stadhuis zit. Het plafond bestaat uit prachtige bogen. Voordat we aan de maaltijd begonnen kregen we een als verassing een klein bekertje soep. Wat leuk en lekker. De maaltijden waren ook erg goed en bij verscheidene gerechten kreeg je een bijzonder verhaal. Het kaasplankje is wat dat betreft helemaal een feest! Ook de andere nagerechten waren top. Bediening gezellig en dus hadden we een geslaagd etentje!

Mooi locatie buiten in de zon eten 👍 Eerder lunchen gedaan en dat was goed 👍 nu voor het eerste keer avond eten was het echt tegengevallen, zie foto deze gerecht kost mij euro 24 zonder patat en kleine zeebaars, dat is erg jammer en weinig keus menulijst voor avond eten.

Heel fijn restaurant met vriendelijk personeel, heerlijke mojitos en superlekkere steak tartaar!

Wat een leuke plek! Dorp is al heel charming, mooie oude pandjes, groen, historie.. en dan is Brasserie 1560 zeker passend. Mooie plek met buiten terras in de late middagzon, gewelfd plafond en gezellige plaatsen en drukte. Eten prima! Lekker voorgerecht is de eend en zeker de tartaar. Ook de slibtongen met venkelsalade en heel mooie aardappelfrites… top. We werden top bediend, ook belangrijk . Als dessert bevelen wij de martini espresso aan. Hebben genoten en gaan zeker nog eens terugkomen.

Goede kaart voor een prima prijs en kwalitatief echt goed. Steak tartaar is bijzonder. En ze leggen de wijnen erg goed uit!

In het wonderschone oude stadhuis van IJsselstein zit nu Brasserie 1560. Als je er naar toe loopt heb je al zin om daar binnen te gaan. Binnen wordt je hartelijk ontvangen (jas aannemen is een optie blijkbaar :-) ) De menukaart is traditioneel, weinig spannends, maar voor ieder wat wils. De bediening was perfect. We kregen een wijn suggestie en die was echt top. Ook bij het kaasplankje kregen we een onverwacht mooie tip als dessertwijn. Het leuke aan de kaasplank is dat je 4 keuzes kunt maken van de 6 geselcteerde kazen. Hierdoor heb je niet net die ene er bij zitten die je niet zo graag lust. We hebben een hele fijne avond gehad . Brasserie 1560 is een echte aanrader.

Lekker geluncht, aardig personeel. Alleen voor 1 dame waren we onzichtbaar geloof ik. Dat was wel heel irritant. Liep diverse keren voorbij maar weigerde mijn kant op te kijken 🤷 @eigenaar: ik had weinig trek om haar te roepen of een dansje te gaan doen om haar aandacht te trekken. Zij keek bewust onze kant niet op, dan is het mijn eer te na om er toch moeite voor te doen....

Gezellig geluncht met een vriendin. De inrichting is super leuk met de gewelven. Lunchkaart is niet heel uitgebreid als je iets van intolleranties hebt. Kan wel naar gevraagd worden, maar wordt niet standaard aangeboden.

Super geslaagde high tea gehad afgelopen zaterdag! De lekkerste scone die ik ooit gegeten heb. Daar had ik er nog wel een van gelust... heerlijk vers brood, lekkere smoothie en soepje. Prima prijs voor erg goede kwaliteit. Voor herhaling vatbaar!

Fijne bediening, gezellig met ze alle aan de bier en kreeg zelfs wat van het huis. Zeker een aanrader.

Bijzondere originele kaart. De keuze van het voorgerecht, zalm met zoet/zure toevoeging, was reuze. Het hoofdgerecht had een fijne winterse touch. Top service en warme sfeer. Genoten!

Vorige week hebben wij genoten van een High Tea om ons 23 jarige samen zijn te vieren. Van te voren wat wensen doorgegeven per E-mail. Toen we aankwamen werden we vriendelijk verwelkomt, tafel was gedekt en de thee werd ingeschonken, we voelden ons heel erg welkom. Onze wensen waren volledig opgevolgd, we hebben enorm genoten van al dat lekkers. Personeel erg vriendelijk en het restaurant zelf is prachtig aangekleed en sfeervol (ook met de muziek). We hopen daar snel een keer te kunnen lunchen of dineren, dank voor de gastvrijheid!
