We ended our holiday at Robuust because the food is good there. We regretted that tonight! After waiting for an hour, we finally got our starters, and not even all four at the same time. For the fourth starter, we had to wait another 10 minutes while three carpaccio dishes were warming up. We received our main course 1 hour and 45 minutes after arriving, while other tables had long since finished, even though they arrived later than us. The steak was tough and the peppercorn sauce lacked flavor. The chicken salad was too large a portion, but otherwise fine. During the meal, all four of us got stomach aches. Since no one had come by 20 minutes after we finished our main course (not even in the meantime to ask if we were enjoying it) to clear the table and ask about our choice for dessert (SocialDeal promotion), we asked for the bill. When I mentioned that I wanted the bill and that we hadn't even gotten to our dessert, the reaction was stoic. Not a shred of understanding or empathy. If I hadn't already paid for everything in advance, we would have left after the starter. Now the four of us are home with stomach aches, and also a stomach ache because we have such a bad experience, whereas we usually always ate well. We will be skipping Robuust in the future. Robuust contacted me regarding this review and regrets how our evening turned out. In addition to understanding, awareness, and apologies, I received a gift card to go and have a positive experience at Robuust. Very nice!

Last Sunday, I had lunch at Robuust. What a disappointment. The salmon Benedict was initially taken to another table, but they hadn't ordered it, so it went back to the kitchen. Ten minutes later, my wife received the same salmon Benedict with cold hollandaise sauce and an ice-cold egg on top. There was simply a skin on the sauce. My order wasn't correct either; I had ordered two croquettes with one slice of bread. That was possible, but apparently only one croquette; two wasn't allowed, and I also had to get the mustard myself. In short, that was a one-time thing and never again: 35 euros for a lousy meal.

It is a real shame; the staff is more preoccupied with smoking than with the guests. And you do indeed have to wait so long for the food, and then you don't even get it all at once. And when you ask how, what, or why, you are told it is busy. There were 6 people sitting there. So how is that possible? Subsequently, I see someone walk outside to smoke every 30 minutes.

My girlfriend and I went out for dinner on Monday, September 14th, at 7:30. It was quite busy, and the host immediately informed us that he was working alone that evening. Despite everything, Christiaan helped us out wonderfully. I am a chef myself, and I have never seen a waiter work so hard. The service, the pace, and the atmosphere were perfect; we will definitely be back. Thank you, Christiaan!!

SHAMEFUL: charging 14.50 euros for a soup that comes from a factory and that I can buy myself in any supermarket for a few euros around Christmas. I am seriously deeply appalled by this!!! I had never been to this eatery before, and if I hadn't had a nice conversation with the seemingly new manager Christian, I would never have come back here either, but I promised him I would visit him again in about 6 weeks, so I will definitely do that.

Lovely afternoon with my family for my birthday, tasty snacks, etc.

Disappointing service and long wait times Unfortunately, we are very disappointed with our visit. We went out for a nice meal together and took a seat outside. Subsequently, we had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes before anyone even came to take our order. When we finished eating, the waiting started all over again. We ended up waiting for about an hour. In the meantime, we had also asked a waiter if we could sit inside. After about 20 minutes, I walked inside myself and saw that there was plenty of room. That is why we went inside. What I found most disappointing was that the waiter who had taken our order later indicated that he had forgotten to pass on our table and that he had forgotten about us again because we were sitting outside. Frankly, I find that very sloppy and not the way you should treat guests. I understand that it can be busy and that things can sometimes go wrong, but there were several instances in a row where we felt completely forgotten. The wait times were incredibly long, and we were barely looked after in between. All in all, I am deeply disappointed with the service and the way we were treated. Hopefully, something will be done about this, because in my opinion, this could really be a lot better. The restaurant was less than half full, there were 3 people serving, 2 men in the kitchen, and we were told that they were short of staff. Sorry, but I have worked in the hospitality industry myself and know that these are just excuses. The only thing that could be done regarding the bill was to deduct the drinks. We only had 2 drinks in the 2 hours and 15 minutes we were there. The starter was very tasty, but unfortunately, the main course was not good, partly because our appetite was gone and we were not enjoying ourselves.

Very poor price-quality ratio. Although the meat on the spareribs came off the bone easily, it was a bit dry and not tender. The marinade was also minimal. Few fries and plain tableware. The cheesy bread starter was tasty, though. The drink glasses also didn't look clean due to visible dried-up droplets. I didn't find the atmosphere cozy either. The staff does their best, but they (with the exception of the young man who was friendly and had a smile) have not been instructed to serve people in a friendly manner and with a smile, and the staff ultimately determines the atmosphere. Serving the drinks and food is also not done properly, but that is partly due to those high tables, which also make it impractical to serve to the right of a customer. The uncomfortable high tables and chairs restrict freedom of movement, and you can barely get out of your seat; you cannot slide it away from the table because your feet do not reach the ground. The tables are also so high relative to the chairs that you cannot even rest your arms on the table without raising your shoulders. I am not someone who is critical or quick to give reviews, but this is not something we would repeat.

My son has ARFID. The staff was too incompetent to modify a hamburger so that it was just meat and bread. Very sad. Afterwards, I contacted the restaurant. I explained what happened again. It really wasn't their intention, and the staff will be questioned. After I emailed again, I received a response stating that this is not their way of working. However, it is unclear why they did it this way this time. A voucher was promised, but I still haven't received it.

We had high tea there with three people, but it was really disappointing. The first dish didn't arrive until after 45 minutes; no plates were placed, no cutlery, and no napkins. At the beginning, food for four people was also served, even though there were only three of us. After we pointed this out, food for four people was placed on the table again. Apart from that, little attention was paid to us, and the empty bottles, glasses, and used crockery were not cleared away, so at one point the table was completely full. The staff seemed inexperienced and were anything but customer-oriented. The restaurant also lacked atmosphere. Unfortunately, this was our first and last time.

The food here is super delicious! It's also a really great place to have lunch outside.

A good and cozy place, the food was very good and you get a generous portion. We were absolutely stuffed! The staff was also very friendly and had a good sense of humor, which made the evening very enjoyable! In short, we will be back!

We ate here for the first time today, but no, never again. We reserved for 5:00 PM, and by 6:00 PM we were already outside with our starter, main course, and coffee afterwards. I didn't feel like I could eat in a nice, quiet atmosphere. The staff, standing huddled together in a group of four, watching to see if you hurry up, apparently giving you the impression that they're rushing because they're so busy. No, they won't see me there again.

We were supposed to have dinner with the family (11 people) today. We ordered in October 2025 for today (January 17th). This morning at 12:00 PM, the order taker called to ask if we could please be aware that we were leaving at 8:00 PM because of a private party!??? Uh... what? Excuse me? You couldn't have told us this earlier, but we couldn't until the morning itself. It's outrageous that people come from far away, considering we live all over the Netherlands. I find this absolutely outrageous and incredibly unfriendly. This company doesn't care about customer service! Where else can you find a place to dine with 11 people on the same day these days?! Thanks, Robuust, for ruining our family visit. You won't see us again (yes, we've eaten here before, but we've never been treated like this).

We've been eating here as a group on Wednesday nights for four months now. Unfortunately, we've noticed the price-quality ratio deteriorating rapidly. Where we used to struggle to finish the chicken parlor, we now get a half-empty plate with fries and cheese and a stray piece of chicken. Colleagues also skipped their steak. It's a real shame that things are deteriorating so rapidly. I certainly won't be eating there again.

We waited 40 minutes for our food. The portions were also way too small.

We had lunch at Robuust today. We got a great deal through Social Deal. The deal included a cocktail or cocktail and a drinks platter with delicious lunch snacks. We also ordered a cup of tea and a cappuccino. In total, we spent €41. The lunch was absolutely worth it. We sat there for two hours and left with a full stomach. The dishes were presented attractively. Regarding the noise: If you're bothered by ambient noise/stimuli... I would only go here for lunch during the week and ask for a quieter table. It gets quite noisy on weekends. If that's not a problem, you can go any day. I personally don't dine here because it's so busy.

Had a lovely lunch with my client today. We received friendly service. It was nice to sit there, nice and warm. You can park your car easily. One downside: the restrooms are very dirty.

I eat here regularly. Unfortunately, I've had two disappointing experiences this time. Two weeks ago, I ate here with a colleague, and the main courses were delivered—one of which (steak) was completely cold inside. After over 10 minutes, we received a new main course, so we ate separately. Very unsociable! The main course also came without fries, which were cold by then. I didn't receive any new fries; they said, "She ate them anyway." I don't think you fully understand... All in all, I'm dissatisfied with how this went. I tried to contact them by email (twice), but no response!

We ate at Robuust in IJsselstein last week, and it was highly recommended. We hadn't actually made a reservation and called around 4:30 pm, even though they were already full. Still, they quickly found a table for us—superb service! The food was very good, and we especially enjoyed the herbs on the fries; surprisingly delicious. The restaurant is also beautifully and robustly decorated, just as you'd expect from the name. We didn't have to wait long at all, and the three of us ate for a very reasonable price. In short: a great atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food. Definitely a place we'd love to return to!

No vegetarian options except for the tomato soup. It was difficult to have a conversation because of the loud noise around you and the close-packed tables, so there was no privacy. The service was very friendly.

The triple smash burger was very meager. The pulled check had no flavor, and despite my warning, nothing was done about it! This wasn't worth our money, and we even overpaid when we calculated it later. Terrible!

We had a fantastic lunch here at Robuust! It's a bit off-centre, but it's perfect if you don't necessarily want to go downtown. And lots of free parking! They have a very extensive lunch menu with some unusual items. Well worth it!

We were looking forward to a lovely, more enjoyable evening with the family. Unfortunately, things turned out differently... the starter arrived quickly, but unfortunately, our main course hadn't arrived after 1.5 hours. Not ideal with small children... we asked again, and luckily the children's dish arrived. We had to cancel our main course. We still paid 65 euros (including the receipt) without having a main course and ended up getting a hamburger from the McDonald's drive-thru... not quite what we had in mind...

My wife and I enjoyed a quiet dinner at Robuust. What stood out positively was that there was no music!! Wonderful! A really quiet restaurant is so difficult to find these days. The food was very good quality, but the portions were pitifully small. They're probably getting smaller, but the price isn't. After lunch, we all went to the Plus because we were hungry. Update in response to a comment: We had a carpaccio sandwich where you could see more bread than filling. And a sloppy joe sandwich. A very meager sandwich on a large board with absolutely nothing else. More of a side dish than a lunch dish. The duo of steamy buns were also very small and, despite there being three of them, not a complete lunch dish. A compliment to the service, though. They're always excellent!

Nice food nice people but slow service

Went last minute in a warm busy evening with no booking. There were tables outside so we were able to seat straight away, for us it was perfect on that day. As always, food is great and the staff are great! We had a burger each, short rib burger and double burger, that was great because it came with a mini burger on top. Portion in general is very good and can be a bit much, but you do elect quality and your money worth . The vibe is just great in general but the creativity of the dishes as-well are super nice. Would recommend this place and will come back. I would recommend the burgers if you are a burger lover!

Excellent quality of the card. We had spare ribs, delicious. The disadvantage is that the acoustics of the restaurant (inside) are terrible. If there is a reasonable occupation, you can hardly understand each other by the chatter of the other guests. Wrong materials have been used for the internal finishing. This is easy to solve, but unfortunately. Therefore only 3 stars.

We ordered the hamburger and pastrami sandwich. The hamburger was great, very juicy and tasty. But the pastrami sandwich was ok-ish, we gave them the feedback that they dont have enough pastrimi in the sandwich. We felt like it was mainly bread. They immediately confirmed with the kitchen and told us that indeed they put the wrong amount in the sandwich. It is a bit pity but I appreciate their customer focused approach. We will definitely come back to try other hamburgers.
