Brasserie de Canette in Wijk 00 Heemstede-Centrum

Yesterday, Sunday afternoon, November 23rd, I celebrated my birthday with a "dressed drinks reception" at Brasserie de Canette, where we were allowed to use a private room. Fantastic! In the weeks leading up to the event, I discussed everything with Isabel, the restaurant manager. I received excellent advice to make everything a success. Very professional. That afternoon/evening itself, my colleague Julia was in charge. Everything was handed over smoothly. Julia quickly proved to have a good handle on everything. Friendly, relaxed, and efficient! She provided me (especially) and my guests with a wonderful, carefree party! >>>>Watch out, Canette, more people have now been inspired! Appetizers/drinks/portions/price: a solid 10. No wonder Julia received so many compliments. See you again next year!

Great service, fantastic ambience and good food! There is a baby changing facility aswell

The steak tartare was delicious. The fish dish was so overcooked that the fish was tough and unpalatable. Nothing was done about it other than reporting it to the kitchen. Not even a cup of coffee to compensate. Drinks were very expensive (wine at €8 was poor quality and Pellegrino was €7.50). We wouldn't recommend it to others, unfortunately.

Extremely poor service at Brasserie de Canette. We were abruptly removed from our table after dinner because "others wanted to sit there." The manager was arrogant and unfriendly, with a very aggressive attitude, refused to give her name, and was completely unhelpful. I've included a photo of her as a reference for who I'm referring to. We were also supposed to be helped charging our phone, but that didn't happen. Later, the phone was even thrown on the table without a word. Never again. Absolutely not recommended.

The food was delicious, but the service was a bit rude. Instead of "hello afternoon," they immediately asked, "what would you like to drink?" This could have been a bit friendlier, as she herself said, considering the young woman had a lot of experience! I also had to ask a few times where my food was, but the young man was extremely friendly. So, there's room for improvement regarding the service.

A super fun brasserie in the center of Heemstede. Delicious sandwiches and salads. Friendly staff. In short, definitely make a reservation.

Dorade is simply amazing! The wine is excellent, the service very friendly. A bit crowded and noisy though.

My wife wanted to go out for a bite to eat again. We usually stay in Hoofddorp or go to Haarlem. This time I wanted something different, so I "kidnapped" her to Heemstede. Because I'm quite picky about quality myself (I'm a hobby chef), I always do my research before making a reservation. I don't always agree with other people's reviews, but the positive experiences I've read have proven to be completely accurate. I made a reservation for 7:15 PM, and in hindsight, that was a good thing. The place was packed. We had a delicious meal... The steak tartare and beef tartare were delicious. As were the rib-eye steak and USA beef tenderloin. Everything was accompanied by a nice bottle of Merlot. The flavors were perfect, and the presentation was beautiful. For dessert, my wife had a passion fruit tart with mango ice cream. I had an Irish coffee, which was piping hot (as it should be, but sometimes isn't). The waitresses were extremely friendly and attentive. They even asked if the main course could come through already. Fantastic! There's a great vibe. We'll definitely go back, if only for the prawn pan my neighbor had :-)

Cozy seating with some privacy! The kitchen is nice, but it's a shame you have to buy fries or vegetables with your €19.95 Hamburger.

We chose the goat cheese and steak tartare sandwiches. Both were delicious, and I would like to highlight that gluten-free bread was available as an option. The place is cozy, with a nice interior and pleasant service.

We stumbled into the restaurant more by chance. The menu was only available in the local language, but that wasn't a problem for the service; all the dishes were explained quickly. Then the food arrived: burgers and the dish of the day... amazing, and the fries were also a treat. Highly recommended.

Had lunch at Canette this afternoon. It's a fantastic brasserie, with fast and attentive service. I had an Egg Canette Royale on brioche with spinach, smoked salmon, herring caviar, and hollandaise sauce. It was fantastically prepared, just as it should be. The brasserie is beautiful and has a chic atmosphere. I give it 5 stars. Highly recommended. Last night we dined at Canette; the meat was superb, and the rib-eye steak was fantastically prepared. I had escargots as a starter, which were delicious. My wife had steak tartare with Belgian mayonnaise, and the main course was a tournedos. The food was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. Highly recommended.

Celebrated a birthday party in the evening at Petit Cannette. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. Everything is possible, nothing is required. They were generous with ideas. Cheerful, friendly people. The quote was good.

We had a wonderful meal at Brasserie de Canette. A lovely menu, delicious dishes, and a tasteful decor. Two tips: the kitchen extractor fan wasn't working properly, and you could smell it the moment you walked in. Our clothes didn't smell pleasant after we got home either. Mark the menu with a symbol indicating which dishes are vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free.

In week 36, I had a wonderful and cozy dinner here. We had a great spot by the window! As soon as I walked in, I saw my first name written on a sign on the table. Always nice! The service was pleasant and the food was delicious. The burger, with all due respect, was very plain/boring in terms of toppings, although it tasted okay. I didn't even dare take a picture. The starter, on the other hand, was beautifully presented and tasted just as good. After all, it's good for the eyes too, and it makes for a more pleasant experience. I'll be back soon to choose a different main course. I did enjoy the comfortable seating and the pleasant atmosphere. Perhaps a 5th star is in order. Thanks, and I hope to see you next time!

The food was excellent; we thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a tartare and tuna tataki, and my partner had a beef carpaccio and a steak. The service was helpful, but one of them seemed a bit arrogant. I was surprised when, at 9:00 PM, a waiter came by to announce that the last round of drinks was underway. My partner ordered a cappuccino, and it wasn't good. When I complained, it turned out that something had already been cleaned, meaning they couldn't make a cappuccino anymore. They then told us it was on the house. We've eaten at Canette several times, and this was our least positive experience.

Once again we had an excellent meal at Brasserie de Canette, the new menu offers many surprising new dishes, the service is as always more than excellent and the atmosphere is good.

Unfortunately, quality has gone downhill, portions are very small and prices are high. Lunch: Tuna bagel (brown) was dried out and I could only eat the small amount of tuna spread. The Hamburger comes without fries as standard. Reordering fries is expensive for a mini bowl. Small Orange Juice lives up to its name. Too bad because it was cozy.

what a lovely ambiance it was a busy Friday night, Haringparty with a performance by a singer on June 20. I had reserved for inside, the terrace was full but we could still sit outside with the permission of the owner, drinks were quickly taken and brought and at 1815 we went inside, delicious food, steak is recommended. Service also extremely friendly, especially our somewhat older waiter. We like to come here and will definitely come back. Cees Huizing

Had a lovely meal on the beautiful terrace. With 5 people we ordered 5 different main courses, everything was served neatly at the same time and every dish was excellent.

Iedere beoordeling die over dit restaurant begint , met vriendelijk personeel , uitstekende service, dat is volgens mij dood normaal , je gaat naar een restaurant vanwege het eten , lasten we het daarover hebben . Wij waren hier met drie personen , twee een club sandwich kip ,de derde simpel weg twee kroketten met wit brood,de club sandwich vier spiesjes met brood , kei hard uitgedroogd en steen koud oud brood , het was een kip clubsandwich , de kip was een plakje kip file , verder een uit het cellofaan plakje uitgedroogd spek , geen spiegeleitje te vinden , ik wilde de spies afhappen , niet mogelijk keihard , met het kartelmes was het ook niet te snijden , dus er maar een ratje toe van gemaakt en dat zo naar binnen gewerkt, ik hoorde de derde persoon met de kroketten met witbrood zeggen ,, jezus,, wat is dat brood hard , dus ook oud brood . De capuccinno was lauw warm , dus ook niet oke , ja en dan wordt er gevraagd was alles oke , als je mensen uitnodigd om te lunchen ga je geen stennis maken , maar deze drie lunch maaltijden verdienen niet eens een cijfer , en ja de bedienig was oke , maar dat lijkt mij redelijk normaal. Ik denk dat het bij de canette ,meer zien en gezien worden is met een bel wijn , zodat je kan zeggen kijk mij nou eens zitten , kwaliteit eten ver onder nul. Nee le canette , hoe durven jullie dit ter tafel te brengen.

Sometimes it's great when everything is just right. Service was fast and friendly. The food was affordable and very tasty. We sat outside and that was fine too. All in all we had a lovely lunch at Brasserie de Canette.

Was very disappointed. Was around 4pm to eat a sandwich no that is not possible it is drinks time I am told. Okay give me 2 x coffee do you also have cake? No problem, just sit on the terrace in the sun, I have just finished my coffee and then they ask again do you want something to drink. I say no and then they immediately take the cups away and there you are sitting at an empty table. Okay then just leave ask for the bill they just say that is 17.00 euros give no receipt that is it. I find this very aggressive sales. There are also people who have to get by on an old age pension and also like to sit on a terrace in the sun

Last Sunday I celebrated my crowning year with a walking dinner in the Petite Canette. It has become an unforgettable evening partly due to the intimate atmosphere of the location, the excellent service and the fantastic food.

Great food and the daily special was great value for money. Order vegetables separately. Very friendly service.

That you shouldn't serve cups of coffee with the lipstick 💄 of the previous user still on them and that when you say sorry with the new cup of coffee, you should also look at the customer when you say sorry.

Great service, relaxed atmosphere. Food is good, normally priced (by today's standards) but a glass of rosé is €8.50... (and yes, you can get a cheaper one too). All in all we had a nice evening.

Very disappointing. You expect a delicious plate of large shrimps from a Gamba Pan. But no. A plate with a thick sauce containing about ten small frozen shrimps. But ask 26 euros for it. This really isn't possible.

enjoy eating outside with this beautiful weather, but I do recommend spraying the terrace clean every morning. I had my shoes covered in bird droppings and that was very unpleasant.

Only had coffee and a beer on a few occasions, but the service was very friendly and efficient. The ambiance both inside and outside on the street terrace was sophisticated exuding calm and quality. The quality of the drinks was excellent and well presented.

Had a delicious meal in the restaurant and then had a fantastic party in the petit Canette. Super nice employees, well cared for, beautiful location. Everything was arranged tip top. On Joey's recommendation we had Roy Meijaard as DJ/singer. What a party that man can throw! Highly recommended for a drink or party here. The atmosphere of the room is so wonderful. We really think along and look at options to make a party fit your wishes. Really great!

We chose De Canette as the location for our primary school reunion, in which approximately 30 people attended. This turned out to be an excellent decision. Behind the restaurant there is a separate room, the 'Petite Canette', which can be reserved especially for groups. We took advantage of a very affordable package that included unlimited coffee, drinks, meals and snacks for six hours. The space is attractively decorated and has a bar, chairs and tables, as well as a screen and sound system. The wait staff was friendly, cooperative and attentive. All guests were very satisfied and look back on this day with great pleasure. The location certainly contributed to the success of the reunion and I can absolutely recommend De Canette for such events. Thanks again for this unforgettable day!

We had a babyshower party in this restaurant. The atmosphere was good, only we didn’t not receive several things that were on the menu. And for a price of €32,50 per person we would have expected at least the whole menu.

Tasty food in a friendly atmosphere. Only the portions are a bit meager (especially the fries).

Waited an hour before the main menu was served. Was offered a drink as compensation. That is appreciated. The steak and ribeye were served on a soup plate with all the vegetables on top! Looked very strange and was not easy to cut in such a deep plate. The food was not really warm. Shame. We are disappointed.

Lunch was good. Despite a reservation, we sat at a kind of side table, knee height. There was still room, but we didn't want to sit close to the kitchen/bar. There were also free tables elsewhere, but they were “reserved”.

Celebrated my 50th birthday at Canette and the service was excellent and added to the good mood and outcome. The catering was very tasty, especially the wild mushroom croquettes. The guests were impressed by the organization and help from the staff. Definitely recommended to celebrate your party at Canette. Thanks again to the team behind the bar and in the kitchen!

We are Canadian visitors who have previously enjoyed dining at this restaurant on several trips to the Netherlands. On this particular Sunday, we arrived for brunch, were seated, and received menus, but were completely overlooked as multiple guests who arrived after us were served. After waiting half an hour, we decided to leave. Before doing so, we asked to speak with the manager on duty; however, a server inquired about the issue instead. When we explained the situation, he seemed indifferent, simply stating they were busy. Unfortunately, we left without any explanation as to why we were overlooked. Although we have given this establishment positive reviews in the past, given this experience, we will not be returning.

Fast good and very nice service. Delicious cocktails and delicious mini shrimp roll. Super fun Saturday afternoon. Packed with cheerful people. Good business. Dinner: great! Bisque de homard…. Great. Confit de canard is fantastically delicious. The crepe suzette with delicious Grand Marnier. Very nice service. Nice place and we will definitely come back. October 2024 Another delicious dinner (for two people: main course and coffee 65 euros). With the delicious Lalinda cocktail (alcohol-free) Highly recommended! And the service is super sweet, caring and pleasant. We'll be back.

Beautiful place with perfect service.

The restaurant was almost empty but with 4 waiters it took a long time before we were helped. Even guests who arrived later were helped earlier. Food and atmosphere are also excellent.

We were able to have lunch outside, friendly service and the lunch was very tasty, highly recommended. The ingredients are fresh and crunchy.
