Very nice and cool restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. Near by dam square. The food are tasty and delicious. The staff are very friendly and polite.

I tried the Dutch bitterballen with apple juice. They gave quite some mustard to eat with six bitterballen. I wonder if that is too much and wasted. Overall, it is a good place with joyful atmosphere to stop when you need a some rest visiting the city center.

Fantastic waitstaff! The way they treat their guests is absolutely fantastic! Waitstaff at other Amsterdam restaurants and bars could learn a thing or two from this.

Average service. The kitchen closes at 8:30 pm, so you're rushed to place your order as quickly as possible, and a smile is a bonus. I highly recommend Hulscher's where the service is impeccable!

I had the following food/drinks: - Caesar salad (with bread) - Fries (with mayo) - Iced Vanilla Latte (which wasn't on the menu) Let me start off with the unusally positive: The Vanilla Latte was VERY good. Super delicious. The fries were actually quite delicious (I ate them without mayo that's how nice they were)... Caesar Salad VERY unusual, definitely could call it something else but it was fine. Very strange sauce I forgot to ask what it was but I personally would not order it again. The chicken though was very good. The bread unfortunately was quite inedible. I'd be suprised if they bake it in-house and the bread I had on the plane ride there was miles better (and warm)... So a lot of positive but questionable mayo and terrible bread puts food at a 4/5. Service was fine definitely nothing out of the ordinary. Atmosphere gets 4/5 but was thinking 3/5 because there were a lot of old people drinking beer there. It's a restaurant not a sports bar... but it's fine for sure. Thanks for lunch.

We sat down for a cup of coffee, and there was no acknowledgement that anyone had seen us. People around us who came in later were being served, but we were completely ignored. We left after fifteen minutes. A complete mess.

I ordered a burger, but the meat tasted clearly old and off — completely inedible. After just a couple of bites, I had to spit it out onto a napkin. When I politely asked the waiter if I could change my dish for something else, he responded in a cold and dismissive way, showing zero professionalism or concern. Instead of addressing the issue, he tried to upsell me some other Food. Considering the rather high prices (21euros for a small burger) you would at least expect a minimum level of service — but there was none. Absolutely unacceptable experience. Both the food and the service were terrible. I would never recommend this place.

For tourists, it is considered an ideal restaurant, it opens from 8 in the morning until 10 at night. They have breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, sweets, and snacks. Everything is delicious and the meals are enough for more than one person. They have good options for vegetarians, especially those of us who do not eat meat in Europe. They have good options with vegetables, dairy, and eggs. I recommend the restaurant to Muslims, but it is very crowded, meaning they take a long time to take the order, but it is worth the wait and the price is reasonable according to the quality of the food, the cleanliness of the place, and the treatment of the staff.

The welcome is okay, one of the waitresses doesn't smile at all. The rest of the atmosphere is nice, the veranda and the room are nice, the food is good.

It was very, very tasty!!! A large and indulgent portion Not the cheapest in the world but worth every shekel I am celiac so they brought me a smaller loaf of bread for my sandwiches. I had to ask for more because the portion was too small but they happily brought it and it was really delicious

I was truly shocked by the service. First, I had to wait forever for everything. Then the table was shaking like crazy and was dirty. No one ever asked if everything was tasty; instead, the waitress suddenly came and handed me the bill. I didn't ask about dessert, coffee, or anything else. And the fries were cold, so I wouldn't recommend them.

De Roode Leeuw Brasserie in Amsterdam Central is a good spot to stop by. I had a tasty burger and a delicious BLT sandwich – both fresh and flavorful. The service was acceptable, and the location is amazing right in the heart of the city.

We've been here three times this week and are absolutely thrilled! The ambiance is stunningly beautiful; you immediately feel at home. The service is incredibly good! Always friendly, very attentive, and absolutely competent! The cocktails were also incredibly delicious, and some even included a show with homemade cotton candy. The food was also incredibly delicious; every ingredient was perfect, and the entire plate was a dream! The creme brulee was also presented with a show...simply fantastic! We can only praise this restaurant highly, and many could take inspiration from its friendliness, attentiveness, and overall concept! This restaurant absolutely rounded off our stay here in Amsterdam!❤️

The food was very good: one of the best burgers and fries. Excellent fresh vegetables soup. Large portions. Very clean and ordered, a good plus in this location.

We recently dined at De Roode Leeuw in Amsterdam, and we really enjoyed it. The food was delicious – well-seasoned and beautifully presented. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and relaxed, just what you want for a pleasant evening. Another nice thing was that we didn't have to wait long at all to be helped. Everything went smoothly, and the service was friendly and attentive. One minor drawback, however, was that the service was in English. While understandable in such a touristy spot, it does detract somewhat from the Dutch character. All in all, a pleasant experience – good food, a pleasant atmosphere, and fast service.

De HighTea hier is geen aanrader, ik had aangegeven geen vlees te eten (wel vis en gevogelte) helaas hadden ze er maar helemaal vegetarisch van gemaakt waardoor alle sandwiches op elkaar leken, betwijfel ook of de zoetigheid echt van Holtkamp komt want was niet geweldig en had sowieso te lang buiten de koeling gestaan De scones waren droog en de clotted cream was crème fraiche(?) Bediening was wel erg vriendelijk en goed!

Prices are reasonable, service is fast, and the waiters are polite and respectful. When we finished our coffees, no one bothered us, as if to say, "You need to get something more." The portions are plentiful. It has a very nice, quiet atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you're in the heart of the city.

The location is great and the place itself is lovely. However, the service was very disappointing. The staff were rude, especially the short woman with long black hair — I found her to be the most unpleasant.

The pea soup is excellent. The typical Dutch dishes are very good and it is a good, comfortable place. The staff is friendly.

Pretty sure they forgot about our order. Waited 53 minutes for food to arrive. The steak was supposed to be medium well, ended up rare. Water costs 7 euros?

It's really not delicious. A typical tasteless and expensive restaurant that ignores tourists... The steak that costs 26 euros isn't even chewy.

Wij waren een dagje Amsterdam en wilde lekker gaan lunchen. Het restaurant zag er aantrekkelijk uit. Mijn man en ik hadden allebei Egg Benedict besteld. Het kwam vrij snel en het viel ons erg tegen. 1 klein broodje voor 13,50 en het ei was koud. We hadden op zijn minst 2 broodjes verwacht voor die prijs. Het was voor ons niet genoeg.

I was contacted by telegram if I wanted to write a fake review for this restaurant. This takes away the whole point of reviews, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been contacted, so here's my review to balance it out a bit.

Leaving the station for a little hunger, why not? The welcome is very friendly, the food is plentiful and of high quality, the prices very affordable.

The worst steak we've ever had. The restaurant itself is nice and the service pretty good. Bitterballen and fries excellent too - but wow, the steak was genuinely the worst steak me or my partner have ever had. It was grey so obviously cooked in a cold pan but still somehow immensely overcooked. Ordered one medium rare and the other rare but both were like leather. AVOID THE STEAK AT ALL COSTS - PEOPLE MUST BE WARNED! The 4 star rating cannot be applied to the steak.

Just came for a drink. We were interested in food but were offered no menus. Staff felt a bit distant. Atmosphere is really lovely and prices are decent, given it being a busy area.

"On November 15, my parents and my husband visited Brasserie De Roode Leeuw in Amsterdam for a cappuccino. The brasserie was nicely decorated in a Christmas atmosphere and looked neat, the toilets were also spotless and smelled wonderfully fresh. The cappuccino was good and warm, but the apple pie we ordered was unfortunately a bit soggy. The service was okay, but the lady who served us did not seem to enjoy her work. The prices were okay for a cup coffee and a slice of cake, nothing to complain about. All in all an average experience.

Verschrikkelijk! - American pancakes waren niet vers, gewoon uit pak terwijl je er wel 12,50 voor betaald. - Er stond dat we maple siroop zouden krijgen maar we kregen Agave siroop. - Kaas van de nacho's waren erg taai. - De granaatappelpitjes op de american pancakes smaakten heel erg naar alcohol.

The American pancakes were placed straight from the microwave on the board, with maple syrup, but this was agave syrup. The pomegranate seeds also tasted like pure alcohol and that for 12.50. The natchos were a bit tough and the spring onion that came with it also tasted strange. The cheese made the chips even chewier. Also the coffee milk that came with the coffee was a bit strange. Definitely not worth the money you pay for it. I also thought the woman who paid was very rude, but the man who took our order was very friendly.

Mijn vriendin ik wilde weer eens bij jullie zitten en wat eten we gingen aan tafeltje zitten maar werden wegestuurd maar op een hele arogante manier ook een ander tafel kon terwijl ze leeg waren het andere personeel zeiden nog ze kunnen toch daar zitten maar daar werd niet naar geluisterd hij bleek achteraf Jos of Jois te heten wat een arogante kwal was dit is hij soms medeeigenaar want zo kwam hij wel over zelfs het andre personeel wees op hun voorhoofd ik wou weg gaan maar vond dat zielig voor mijn vriendin die hoort niet in de horeca thuis wat een aanfluiting voor de goede naam die het vroegerhad

Local en la zona super turística/comercial del centro de Ámsterdam pero donde pienso que se puede comer algo diferente y quizá más tranquilo, dada la amplitud del local. Hay opción desde platos algo elaborados hasta cosas más mundanas tipo "croquetas holandesas" o nachos. Mención especialísima para Yoel Alejandro, nuestro camarero cubano que nos amenizó la velada con sus consejos sobre P. Bajos. No sé si hay que dejarse huevo para el postre porque no pido por la noche

Naar Le Petit Chef geweest. Een mooi concept, maar het eten was slecht, we hadden echt het idee dat alles kant en klaar door de Hanos geleverd was. Ontzettend jammer, want als er met verse ingrediënten zou worden gewerkt en er meer aandacht aan het eten was besteed, zou dat het concept versterken. Nu vertrokken we met een kater. Airco was stuk, wat kan gebeuren, maar daardoor werd het ongelofelijk heet beneden. Kortom, verhouding prijs kwaliteit echt niet in orde.

There are much better places to eat in Amsterdam. It didn't taste good to me and there was an unpleasant surprise in the dish - thanks for removing it from the bill. They didn't bring us a menu, nor did they give us any cutlery. I don’t want to judge strictly - perhaps they have delicious dishes, and we were just unlucky this time.

We've been there last Friday and had three drinks. When we paid with our bank card the waiter said the payment was not approved. Then they charged us twice. The waiter, Dimitris, said they would immediately send back the payment if it results in a double payment. Nothing happened! We even gave them tips! We kindly ask you to refund us! We left our numbers!

Bedingungen teils freundlich teils nicht, man hatte das gefühl die Stimmung ist sehr schlecht die freundlichste Bedienung wurde von einer anderen sehr runtergemacht, essen mittelmäßig den Preis definitiv nicht wert, Salat mit kaum Dressing, Fleisch sehr trocken und zäh, kurz vor 16 Uhr sagte man bereits dass alles bis 16 Uhr, was ca ein Drittel der Karte war nicht mehr gibt, was sehr enttäuschend war, da wir eigentlich nur deswegen gekommen waren, zu Mittag evtl Oke zu Abend sollte man sich was anderes suchen

❌ AVOID ❌ Did a brief lookthrough of the low reviews and it seems that there’s a pattern of how the service crew mistreats asians in general. As hotel guests, we decided to grab breakfast at the hotel restaurant for our last day. The employees were friendly and nice but this all changed when a manager looking guy came out to serve the tables. He was rude and impatient (not sure why since there was only 4-5 groups eating, maybe he just wants to look busy like he’s working harder than everyne else?). Annoying things he did: 👍 In a rush to throw down our breakfast plates and lopsidedly setting it top of the coffee saucer 👍 Screaming ‘cash or card’ during payment and snatching back the POS machine after we tapped our card (like bro didn’t even ask if we wanted a receipt or is he afraid someone’s gonna steal the machine??) 👍 Muttering a slew of dutch behind our backs as we walk out of the restaurant (Hopefully every guest get the same treatment) 👍 Throwing the arm chair back in place after we left our seats to exit Close the restaurant if you are not keen to serve 👏

Bad Caesar salad. Lots of coarse pieces of lettuce with sand in them. 3 small pieces of dry fried chicken, half an egg, some pieces of dried tomato, some croutons and a small bread roll. After reporting sand in the lettuce, we received a small bowl with large pieces of lettuce, some cheese shavings and a dollop of dressing. Also ordered 3 shrimp croquettes with bread. The croquettes were not much bigger than a bitterbal. Overall a disappointment to eat here.

We quickly got a table inside Brasserie De Roode Leeuw, which was clean and nicely decorated. The pay station to charge phones was a handy feature. The food was decent, but the servers seemed unhappy and argued in front of customers, showing a lack of professionalism. Despite this, it's a convenient and comfortable spot for a meal.

Ate here for the first time. It was delicious. The warm goat cheese salad was really fantastically prepared. The bun you got with it was crispy and warm as it should be. The small portion was just enough for 1 person. Highly recommended when visiting Amsterdam, but also if you decide to be spoiled for lunch!

This was an absolute disaster. Waited one hour for a sandwich. And when I got it it was the wrong order. The waiter had an attitude from start.. paid 35 € for two sandwiches-one smal beer and a tea that looked more like a budget student meal.

The service was excellent. Rarely have I had such good service. The food tasted incredibly good. What needs to be mentioned above all is the distance between the tables and the opportunity to chat undisturbed as a couple.
