Brasserie 'Het Vliegerhuys' in Wijk 10 Binnenstad

After not having been here for more than 20 years, it remains a lovely place to eat and/or have a drink... the lunch was delicious.

It was truly delicious, but we couldn't finish the large pieces of cake each. One piece of cake is enough, and the rest is left behind, which is a waste. Smaller bites are better with a high tea. But it was certainly delicious.

We had a baby shower/high tea for my daughter-in-law last Saturday afternoon. I really enjoyed it, and it was well-organized! It was a wonderfully enjoyable experience!

We had high tea as a staff outing. It was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was cozy, the food was good, and so was the service. The price/quality ratio was also excellent.

I went here for dinner this week with a friend. We ordered a carpaccio sandwich, which we had to wait quite a while for. The sandwich was way too hard, like it was three weeks old. And the carpaccio itself tasted like a different kind of meat, like salami. Otherwise, the atmosphere was nice, and the people were friendly. But the food wasn't very good.

Not recommended. The staff has no passion for the hospitality industry, and it shows. The food is also very bland.

Mooi terras en lekker eten. We werden snel geholpen en hebben genoten van onze lunch. Wel vonden we een glaasje limonade met gember van ruim vijf euro wat aan de prijzige kant.

Nice location but that's about it. The quality of the food is very mediocre, the cake just warmed up, much too large and expensive and otherwise relatively little choice. Operation takes a long time. Too bad, but it can be better.

We used to like coming to the Vliegerhuys, but that is now over. If you serve croquettes frozen on the inside, that can happen when the terrace is quiet... But if you manage to serve croquettes frozen on the inside again, it is very sad. So unloving to treat your product that way. With the first cold croquettes I received a free glass of wine. I don't think they knew it the second time either. I then ordered something cold and not to gamble three times a charm. Then they let me pay for everything, except for those cold croquettes... Reflection, apologies and shame are foreign to this catering location, they even asked if the rest was okay. They really don't understand that the customer experience has also been completely destroyed for my partner. After Easter, sit together and try to learn lessons from this. The owners were sitting on the terrace, so you could see how it went!

Het Vliegerhuys has long been a pleasant place for a snack and a drink. A lot has changed at the rear in recent years, which has benefited the location and experience of the beautiful building. Today it was very busy at lunch time. All tables were occupied. The falafel wrap turned out not to be delivered after fifteen minutes of waiting. That was a shame because the vegetarian choices are limited. The sequel also took a little too long. The tables around us were served earlier. You may think so.

We waren hier op zaterdag met 8 personen, waarvan 3 kleine kinderen, alle lunch gerechten waren alle uitstekend (o.a. Gravad lax (zalm), burrata salade, Smash hamburger, Tuna melt) evenals de wijn die erbij geserveerd werd. Erg vriendelijke ontvangst in een zeer karakteristiek oud pand. Er is een aparte kamer beschikbaar voor een groep van 8-10 personen. Voor herhaling vatbaar !

Gedineerd met zijn tweeën. We begonnen met een broodplankje, daarna voorgerecht en hoofdgerecht. Alles was goed op smaak en kwalitatief goed. Bediening is vriendelijk. Eén puntje van aandacht: gerechten werden wat snel uitgeserveerd. Zo hadden wij ons broodplankje nog niet op, maar stond al wel het voorgerecht op tafel. Hierin zouden ze wat ons betreft wat mogen vertragen.

We had lunch yesterday at the Vliegerhuys in Zwolle. Beautiful authentic building, always a nice atmosphere with the large reading table with countless newspapers and magazines. Very tasty food at an acceptable price. Smooth and fun operation. Super fun!

Deze brasserie bestaat al jaren heeft een vaste kaart met weinig nieuws…. van tijd tot tijd wordt er gewisseld qua entourage …. Momenteel worden de gerechten geserveerd in metalen bakken. Deze doen mij sterk denken aan hondenvoerbakken ….. en nog sterker als ze ook zo door het personeel worden gepresenteerd…..

Had a nice lunch to celebrate my birthday. With cava and salads. Ordered a double cheese board for dessert. Cost: 30e. On the cheese board 2x 4 pieces of cheese, not too generous, but I see that often. Add 3 pieces of walnut and a small bowl of apple syrup. Okay. No grapes, no crackers, no fig bread. Asked if we could get some bread with it. 4 roasted half casino slices. 2 euros extra on the bill for this. Wow, how tacky.

Update - Because I cannot respond to the response from the kite house, but in this way: I did indicate that I was dissatisfied and a solution was partly sought for this. So please communicate better with your staff instead of calling me sour afterwards. I still wanted to inform people about my bad experience, because that is what Google reviews are intended for.

Nice place for a drink with colleagues because that was the reason for my visit. We were well looked after, there was more than enough food and tasty tapas boards.

De buitenplaats ( een pleintje) is leuk. Dat was de reden dat we deze brasserie wilden proberen. Echter bij het wachten voor deur voor een tafeltje liepen eerst alle bedieners langs ons heen, begroeten ons amper en een stel wat niet gereserveerd had en later kwam werd eerder geholpen en kregen het laatste tafeltje. Toen wij eindelijk aangesproken werden, ging dat niet an harte, zelfs tegen het asociale aan. Wat we dus wilden, werd er lomp gevraagd. De toon was dus al meteen gezet. Toen werd ik geïrriteerd en maakte wel vriendelijk een opmerking. "ja dat heeft mijn collega net geregeld. Ik kan daar niet meer aan doen" werd kortaf asociaal gesnauwd. Een paar andere bediener hadden dezelfde communicatie en asociale houding. Toen wij een tafeltje hadden werd snauwrrig gevraagd wat wij wilden en kortaf naar de kaart verwezen. De bediener liep al weg en moest terug komen omdat ik onmiddellijk zei wat wij te drinken wilden. De drankjes werden bijna op tafel gegooid en de bestelling (de lunch) werd met tegenzin opgenomen. Wij vroegen hoe groot de voorgerecht porties waren. Klein dus, was het antwoord. Wij kozen daarom voor de lunchgrootte. 35 tot 40 minuten moeten wachten en kregen toen de bestelling op tafel. Mijns inziens was dit de de voorgerechtgrootte. Zeker geen lunch. Voordeel was wel dat de smaak goed was, maar niet uitzonderlijk. Gewoontjes ten opzichte van de concurrentie. Na het eten de betaling gedaan. Bij het afrekenen wist de kassier niet wat wij hadden gegeten en terwijl ik de bestelling opnoemde werd ik door hem tot twee keer toe in de rede gevallen. Toen heb ik maar vriendelijk edoch stevig aangegeven wat ik had genuttigd en gelijk het af te rekenen erbij vermeld. Dat klopt was het antwoord van de medewerker. Uiteraard geen 1 cent fooi gegeven. Het personeel is asociaal, ongeïnteresseerd en zien de klanten liever gaan. Een plek om nooit meer te komen is ons idee.

Nice terrace to enjoy coffee and cake

Don't do it often, leave a review. This really is a wonderful spot in Zwolle. Wonderfully quiet on the terrace, but it is a shame that the partition and gate to the terrace have been removed. That turned the terrace into a garden. Food is delicious, service is casual and professional. And the coffee is also one of the better in Zwolle.

We hebben hier een high wine gehad. Prima wijntjes, maar er werd niks uitgelegd over de wijnen, de ober had zelfs geen idee wat hij in schonk.. Ook werd er geen contact gemaakt met ons. Prima hapjes, ook goede hoeveelheden. Maar de service was echt slecht, hapjes en drankjes werden zo wat op tafel gegooid, half uitgelegd wat er werd neergezet en een andere tafel (in een leeg restaurant) was ook erg lastig. Waardeloze service. Kom hier niet snel meer terug ondanks dat het een prachtige locatie is met een goede kaart.

Nice location but quality of food was suboptimal. Expensive very long and partner's lunch was put on the table 20 minutes later. Comments about this were dismissed rather carelessly. If the complaint was repeated, we were informed that the complaint would be passed on. Didn't drink the mediocre wine and paid for it.

Like other reviews: you don't want to eat here. Nice terrace, friendly service, but unfortunately an owner who does not understand what hospitality is. High tea made no sense. We had asked in advance whether we were still in time to make a reservation for a gluten-free high tea. This was no problem at all! Was said on the phone. It took an hour before you got anything, the sandwiches were meager, but tasty. The “second/sweet round” also took an hour to arrive at the table (tea and water were also not replenished unless you asked for them several times). When we asked about the food, we were promised that it would take so long because it would be completely “from the house, homemade”. In the end we got a rock-hard, cold muffin/scone with vegetables (they didn't know what in the world this was supposed to represent) and half-cooked pancakes... special, home-made? I wouldn't be so proud of that. In any case, the mystery pastry had been thrown straight from the packaging onto a plate, without being baked. The response was that they were too busy. Besides the fact that this should never be a problem for the guest experience, it was a poor excuse. It was not very busy and what was there was 80% high tea. in other words: tables with a well-known menu. Mise en place of licking vest. After we had sent the dessert back and actually just wanted to leave and pay for what had been eaten, the owner got into an unnecessary argument. There was no apology or offer of compensation. He even claimed that his undercooked pancakes were of culinary excellence, and that several chefs checked it. I don't know where he recruits his staff (or why he thinks pancakes are fancy), but it's very strange that it takes several chefs an hour to make a simple pancake incorrectly. Any ordinary pancake restaurant can supply an entire restaurant with cooked pancakes twice in that time. The fact that this high tea is sold while the images on the website and social media (#glutenfree) show something different is misleading sales. Opinion about pancakes not taken into account; you are selling a product you don't have and your replacement was dangerous to serve. It doesn't do you any good, Vliegerhuys. The ordered coffee never arrived at the table... then I haven't even mentioned that ridiculously dirty high chair where you could easily scrape the dirt off the upholstery. I cleaned it as best I could and then put my own cloth over it. No one from the staff came to help in those 25 minutes. I normally don't write reviews, but after 12 years of working in the kitchen myself, I have never experienced anything so bad in this price range. Everyone makes mistakes, but this was absurd. Dealing with a complaint properly is part of your job. You can also read in other bad reviews how poorly they receive criticism in their response to guests. If I could give less than 1 star I would

The best Appeltaart! I just cannot find appeltaart as good as this. Aside from the appeltaart, the place is cozy. Old building gives me cozy feeling. It can be very busy especially on weekend so I would suggest to make a reservation ahead. The place is just small so it can also very loud inside & sometimes you have to sit with other people which is something I dont like. But overall i love this place.

Beautiful location for a cup of coffee and something tasty or a tasty lunch. Now for a cup of coffee. The cappuccino was excellent, the apple pie divine. Just a pity that the chocolate milk had run out... The whipped cream with the apple pie was plentiful and quite greasy: that combination turned out less well afterwards.

We had a high tea here this afternoon, but there was no real tea to speak of. The food itself was fine, the first round savory and the second round sweet. We were told that we could simply ask for new hot water for tea, but after asking twice and waiting about half an hour we did not receive any more water. So we went the entire 2nd round without tea. At checkout they were not asked if everything was satisfactory, so they don't seem really interested in that.

Nice place for lunch just outside the hustle and bustle of the Melkmarkt. Great lunch too. Both dishes, Caesar Salad and Steak Tartare, with a twist that you have to love. Compliment: You don't often get a tartare that hasn't been through the mill.

Married in Het Vliegerhuys. Fantastic ambiance, incredibly friendly and hands-on staff, and the team thinks carefully in advance about what you want, what is possible and what is not. Communication was fast and clear, and the appearance of the building makes for beautiful photos. Dinner (in the vaulted cellar) was copious: no standard dishes, but above all very tasty and there was more than enough. Moreover, fantastic value for money.

Als je van plan bent gezellig een high wine te boeken hier, ik zou het niet doen. Het is namelijk echt veel te duur voor wat je er voor krijgt. We kregen 1 glaasje bubbels en 2 glaasjes wijn (beiden erg lekker) maar 'de borrel' was echt ontzettend teleurstellend. Er lag misschien een halve kilo gesneden blokjes kaas (lekker hoor, maar waarom zoveel?) een paar stukjes wit brood, een paar plakjes leverworst, 2 bitterballen, 2 stukjes kip, een klein schaaltje olijven, en een paar stukjes droge worst. Daarna kregen we 2 hele kleine bakjes salade en dat was het dan. En dit voor een bedrag van 55 euro. Voor dit bedrag bestel je hier een soepje, een broodje, een taartje en een glas wijn. Heb spijt dat we dat niet hebben gedaan. Stom van mij dat ik niet even heb gevraagd wat er bij de high wine inbegrepen zat, dus het is deels m'n eigen schuld, maar ik vind het Vliegerhuys normaal een heel goed restaurant, dus had er wel vertrouwen in. Spijtig!

Disappointing. If you order a Westmalle Tripel (after waiting fifteen minutes), you will be told that it is gone. Oh no, not on but not chilled. "Then why don't you put it in the freezer for 5 minutes?" Then it's coming. Served without a matching Westmalle glass, but in a rinsed beer glass. You should serve a Westmalle Tripel with a dry glass! The temperature of the beer was just about manageable. A glass of red wine from my company was a small glass of wine. And when we wanted to order a second round, the Westmalle was gone. Then just do a Duvel. Oh well, that was gone too. "Well, end of the week." We just went somewhere else.

A wonderful place to relax, even in tropical conditions. The service is very hospitable, friendly and helpful. The coffee is delicious and I can recommend the brownie to everyone. Made in our own kitchen. Really delicious. All in all a real winner.

Visit 'Het Vliegerhuys' again today, as you always get a large slice of delicious cake here. Nom nom...!! Unfortunately, that was not (anymore?) the case today. A really ordinary piece for €4.50. The whipped cream was not quite right and the clerk was a bit distant when taking the order and during service. Fortunately, the good taste of the apple pie and the cheesecake has not changed! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I understand from the owner that the size of the apple pie has not changed. We would love to come back for the second chance! Ps. You can sit outside very comfortably. The garden is well maintained and spacious. There is a box of toys outside for small children.

Worst high tea ever unfortunately. No welcome, no friendly word from the staff. Start with a weak salad, I don't think that's how you start a high tea. Baked rolls with toppings, no clutted cream, lemon curd or scones. Dry pastry in clumsy points, certainly not a refined pastry on an etagiere. Owner who is not open to any feedback or who does not take our disappointing experience to heart, too bad! Beautiful place but last time for me.

We went for high tea with a group of 13 people. It didn't seem like it. Buns were old. Meat and fish were promised. No meat. Fish, 1 piece can be found in a very sparse salad. Special for a high tea, by the way. Ordered wine, received the wrong, more expensive bottle than we ordered. We were of course able to pay for it. It was 30 degrees, we had consumed several bottles of wine and with a bill of almost €400 you can assume that a carafe of water can be offered. Well not. Furthermore, the service couldn't help but smile. The tables were packed and nothing was cleared, only more non-quality food was added. In short. This business has lost 13 customers and gained a lot of bad word of mouth advertising. I would immediately advise against it to anyone planning this opportunity. We went to the owner to report this. He did not agree with what we said and ignored our criticism. What an annoying man! He did not want to think about solving anything in any way.

What nice staff and the coffee and pastries are highly recommended. So good. The only disadvantage I think is the acoustics. Sounds very bad to me. But that could be just me.

Mixed feelings. Nicely decorated, and three dishes were good, but the vegetarian curry was a lukewarm thin sauce in a bowl with a thimble of rice on the side. Staff were nowhere to be seen all evening, even though (or because?) we were the only ones there. We wanted to order something to drink and dessert, but we decided not to.
