Gisteren geluncht bij deze Brasserie. Echt een tegenvaller. We kozen voor de steak tartaar. €21. Voor die prijs verwacht ik iets anders dan alleen vlees met stukjes augurk erop en een slap stukje getoast brood. We moesten meer dan een half uur wachten op ons eten. We hadden er frietjes bij besteld. Die waren heel erg zout en ze waren al wat afgekoeld toen ze op tafel kwamen. Het glas chardonnay was prima. Ik had een betere prijs-kwaliteit verwacht van een brasserie van de eigenaren van De Librije

After my sister's graduation ceremony on Wednesday evening, we went to Brasserie Jansen in Zwolle for dinner. We were seated right away, which was lovely, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the ravioli I actually wanted wasn't available, so I opted for the risotto. It was okay, but a bit bland—it lacked a bit of spice or depth. The limoncello spritz, on the other hand, was delicious and surprisingly strong; we felt it right away! For dessert, I had the tarte tatin, which was just fine—not exceptional, but certainly a good way to end the meal. The atmosphere was wonderful, especially because we were sitting outside on the terrace in the beautiful weather. All in all, a successful evening, although I hope the ravioli will be there again next time!

Seeing and being seen, that is something that is quickly clear to me as a Westerner unknown in the city. However, I find show-offs in overpriced cars who constantly drive over your toes annoying everywhere in the world, so I will not return until this street is also car-free. Nb a single toilet with such a capacity of seats makes no sense.

Great location. Lovely sitting on the terrace. Food is relatively simple and a bit expensive for what it is. But the location and the staff make up for a lot.

Het eten was erg lekker (omelet en tonijnsalade), maar de bediening was niet bepaald om over naar huis te schrijven. De vrouwelijke medewerkers waren vriendelijk, maar luisterden niet echt, zodat we twee keer iets anders kregen dan we hadden besteld. Eén mannelijke medewerker was ronduit onbeschoft. Hij zette een glas heet water neer voor een van ons, maar zonder thee. Toen degene voor wie dat bedoeld was om een zakje thee vroeg, pakte hij een willekeurig zakje uit de theedoos die op de bar stond en gooide (!) het ongeïnteresseerd, zonder een woord te zeggen, op tafel en liep weg. Verder was het er nogal lawaaiig, deels door de akoestiek, deels door de muziek die op stond. Nogmaals, het eten was uitstekend, maar dit is niet een plek waar we nog een keer naartoe gaan.

Reserved a table 1 to 2 weeks in advance and the reservation was confirmed. At the last moment the reservation was cancelled by email. We would have found a telephone explanation decent and besides that it was also difficult to find something else at such short notice.

Asparagus soup was very salty without asparagus flavor, 2 super small pieces of baguette, coffee was good

Had a sandwich here for lunch in the sun. Tuna on sourdough was great. I can also recommend the 12 hours. Staff very friendly and helpful. The only negative point was the cutlery, the knife was not sharp enough to cut the bread!

Drukke zondagavond: aardige bediening; voorgerecht steak tartaar en zalm prima, hoofdgerechten lieten erg lang op zich wachten. Ossenhaas was er niet meer, t gekozen alternatief: entrecote medium was taai, dorade goed maar voor beide gerechten) prijs te hoog voor de hoeveelheid en kwaliteit. Jammer! De wijnen waren erg goed!

Omdat deze brasserie onderdeel uitmaakt van de Librije-groep wilden we dit adres eens uitproberen. Gezellige en sfeervolle entourage, een echte place-to-be. Wel lawaaierig maar dat past bij een brasserie. Het personeel was vriendelijk en adequaat. De lunchkaart biedt genoeg keuze. Wij kozen voor de Tunamelt en de Jansenburger. Het vlees van de hamburger was echt goed vlees. De liflafjes op het broodje waren smakelijk. De friet viel ons beide tegen: superzout(!) en dun qua formaat. We hadden hier eigengemaakte frieten verwacht. De Tunamelt was redelijk. De rode ui was denk ik gekarameliseerd en daar was ik niet echt van gecharmeerd. Het desembrood vond ik persoonlijk niet bijzonder, dat mag van mij wel robuuster van smaak en structuur zijn. Nadat we onze borden leeg hadden had ik een behoorlijke zoute/kruidige/niet helemaal natuurlijke smaak in mijn mond, beetje jammer. We hadden al met al de smaakbeleving wat 'boerser', meer naturel verwacht; er worden waarschijnlijk smaaktoevoegingen gebruikt. Misschien wel op natuurlijke wijze, dat zou kunnen, maar de basissmaken verdwijnen door de toevoegingen en dat vinden wij zonde. Ondanks deze ervaring willen we nog wel een keer terugkomen!

It was chilly in the shade, but a little later the sun made up for it on the terrace. The service was very good, correct and full of attention to us. We didn't have to wait to order. The wines were named correctly and they were tasty, as was the lunch for the three of us. A nice terrace with a good menu where we will happily return.

Dishes aren't too complex but the ingredients are top notch. Mistake in ordered dish was corrected quickly with multiple apologies. Nice place to have a good time!

Alleen koffie gedronken, duurde lang voor deze kwam terwijl het niet overdreven druk was. Ook de smaak was niet top. Heel wat anders; op het toilet stapeltje damesverband in diverse maten. Top!!

Starter, main course and dessert were all not great. The salmon starter was mediocre in taste. The sauce that was served with it was much too cold (straight from the refrigerator), which did not improve the taste. Salmon very simply presented. Main course entrecote was well cooked, but not very well seasoned. My table companion had tenderloin tips. The sauce was just really not tasty (tasted like mint instead of pepper) and the tenderloin itself was dry and therefore overcooked. Dessert was Zwolle waffle. The waffle itself had very little flavor, very bland. The cherries could be counted on one hand and the sauce was far too watery and therefore could not make up for the bland taste of the waffle. My dining companion had the Dame Blanche for dessert. Combining soft ice cream with chocolate sauce was not a great combination in this one either. Overall a disappointing experience this time. Service was friendly and smooth. That has always been our experience at Brasserie Jansen.

Het was druk en erg lawaaiig en iedereen zit dicht op elkaar je kon mekaar niet verstaan Het eten was matig. Sla met halve cherrytomaat en geen olie of azijn Vlees van halve entrecote was evenveel als van hele, bij navraag zei men dat de ene een hele was maar dit klopte niet Patat bij burger was koud en burger erg korrelig We hebben niet echt genoten van het eten helaas en de entourage veel te dicht op elkaar

The “Reuben Sandwich” is a complete mockery. Ordered one today in the completely naive expectation of an authentic, thick Reuben chock full of pastrami Swiss cheese. sauerkraut and pickles. In the end I got a wafer-thin sandwich with way too much supermarket cheddar cheese, a thin slice of roast beef with some sauerkraut on top. Just call it a $15 cheese sandwich... whatever it was, it had nothing to do with a Reuben. I only tasted melted cardboard cheese. Miss.

Good place to have lunch after exploring Zwolle. Quality of food is good but it is a real typical Dutch lunch menu. For me given the pedigree of the owners it could be a bit more out of the box. White house wine is also great.

Update: After 2 years I gave it another chance. We arrived at 12.10, a place was reserved at the children's corner from 1 pm, fine, then we'll be on our way again. We order our lunch. At 12.30 we are asked to sit somewhere else because of the reservation, so I indicate that we have already ordered and would like to sit in the children's corner. Well, with some effort it was possible. While we ordered before the lunch rush, the food arrived much later. This even though we had ordered simple dishes. A portion of poffertjes, bread with 2 croquettes and a Phillies cheese steak sandwich. It seemed like it had been forgotten. The food arrived, what a sadness. It is now clear to us that Johnny Boer only took over this as a business investment, because it is a big mockery. Croquettes overcooked with a burnt taste, on toasted thin bread that was dripping with fat. Not a bit of salad, no plating on the plate, bare rolls, croquettes and mustard. The Phillies sandwich was dripping with grease, it was a mess, you could no longer taste the steak. As a student you make these kinds of things after a night out. Furthermore, there is no layout of the board. Small portion and they charge 15 euros for it. We ate it because we were hungry and had to hurry because the table was reserved. I don't understand why people still come here, probably just because of the name, but in terms of content it says nothing. A shame because it was good, food was good, menu was nice and service was really of a good level. All in the past. Unfortunately this is the last time for us. From one of the best restaurants in the Netherlands to you better go to the snack bar for better quality.... Bizarre. Review from 2 years ago: We have been coming here for years, but unfortunately it is not what it used to be since the takeover. The staff is now better organized, no jollity this time and very neat. The food, portions and prices, on the other hand, are disappointing. Lots of sandwiches for 10+ euros, while there are half main courses for under 10 euros on the menu, but you can no longer order those for lunch, which is a shame. Salmon sandwich is half the amount of lunch. The salmon is very tasty, but there is so much extra cucumber, capers, onion, pickled onion and loads of sauce on the small roll that you can barely taste it. If it is served with a decent salad, you can call it a lunch dish. And then let the delicious salmon be the star of the sandwich instead of overloading it with everything + loads of sauce. Croque-monsieur is a very fatty snack with lots of cheese, a sandwich soaked in fat. Powerful. You may be full, but it's different. Tomato soup tastes like bland tomato pulp, bland and nothing special. Certainly not for 7 euros. The cappuccino is fine and reasonably priced. It must be said that you can really get something for under 10 euros. But a lot seems out of proportion and it is unclear what you get. It all seems mainly more expensive, not better.

Therese's 'Pus'! nothing more, nothing less,..... for the name they have,.. this is really a mockery. Stale bread,... and not warm enough 'hot food', no 'fresh' gravy, price-quality ratio, way too expensive!! I give it a 2 because we laughed about how it goes. I give my company a 5+! thank you .

We arrived at this restaurant at 10.50 am. The door was open and we stepped inside cheerfully. A young man told us that 'we' opened at 11am. What do you mean customer friendly?!

Excellent brasserie in a nice location. Terrace with many passers-by, so nice people watching. In terms of food, it's a bit overrated, to be honest (especially for those prices). We had French fries deluxe (EUR 7.75), but were not impressed; large portion of thin fries with some parmesan grater and three mini containers of mayo flavors, nothing special to be honest. Pasta con Gamberie was mediocre; average supermarket spaghetti with little special aglio e olio. Luckily enough prawns. Cesar Salad was delicious with tender chicken in a crispy jacket. Service was friendly. But all in all, a bit of posh...

Great place and very good food. Had bacon and egg with smoked salmon (from the Librije 😱). I could taste the quality. One thing that bothered me were the delivery trucks which would try to maneauvere around these small streets. Customers even had to mover the chairs and/or tables to let the truck drivers make the corners.

We have eaten there before over a year ago and the Caesar salad was particularly tasty and so was the open ravioli. This time the salad was a bit disappointing (the dressing was less tasty and less tasty). Everyone's food (we were a group of 6 people) was a bit "basic" with the exception of the desserts, which stood head and shoulders above the rest and were very tasty. In short, I wouldn't go there again to eat, unless I wanted to eat dessert

Da wir beide Liebhaber eines guten Cesar Salat sind, haben wir beide dies bestellt als wir ihn auf der Karte entdeckten. Leider total daneben : ein grosses Salatblatt mit einem gekochtem eiskalten Ei, Salatschnipsel mit Eischnipsel, überhaupt kein Dressing, 1 Anchovis über den Salat gelegt und 5 Stück frittiertes Huhn. Das alles für € 19 pro Person. Es war alles andere als lecker. Von der Bedienung nach Zufriedenheit gefragt, kam nicht mal ein Bedauern oder Entschuldigung.

Had lunch with a friend, you paid about 11 euros for a sandwich with 2 croquettes... not even with some salad. Very bare. The staff doesn't even notice when you've finished your glass, they mainly chat with each other. This was the first time we ate there, and the last time

It's nice how everyone in Zwolle knows each other. The atmosphere is open and this is reflected very nicely in this brasserie.

Perfect night to grab an outside table for the relaxing ambiance! Yet, the food and service was just out of the world. We had the “flammkuchen” with salmon that was killer. Then we had the risotto & ravioli dishes. Fantastic
