Mediocre to poor lunch. Sparse & bare, without lettuce or salad. Chicken/Pulles sandwich very sparsely filled. No fries. Fresh orange juice; 2 sips per glass..? Reported, no response from the staff. The service was not exactly enthusiastic. We chose this place deliberately and regretted it afterwards; it shouldn't be like this.. We sat nicely outside, great spot and location, great coffee. But having to pay almost €60 for this afterwards, and the attitude/reaction of the staff... that is unacceptable. Not for us (in this way).

Disappointing! You would expect something from a restaurant from the Librije stable. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. A very limited and uninteresting dinner menu. Starters were still okay. Main courses were disappointing. The squeaky-clean dishes had hardly any flavor and were undercooked. The sea bass was unimaginative, lacked flavor, and was also ridiculously expensive: 3 small pieces with a few vegetables for €30? Ridiculous! We were told beforehand that we could always order extra vegetables. We did, but they only arrived the moment we had finished eating. As small compensation, we didn't have to pay for them, but it didn't improve the overall experience. I will never return here, and the Librije Group should be willing to put its name to this place.

Great food, stunning location, super friendly team who were very welcoming. If the weather is good, then there is plenty of outside seating. The menu is great, offering hot and cold options on both the lunch and dinner menu. The kids menu is great, our youngest loved the fish bites and chips. I had the Philly cheese steak ciabatta and it was lush! Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Ate here yesterday, and it was okay. A few things were very tasty, others were unbalanced and disappointing. The homemade pâté is fantastic. The accompanying garnish was messy but fine. It comes with piccalilly, which is a real shame considering the pâté flavor, as it is far too overpowering. Shrimp croquettes okay, but the dip could be more exciting. Then the Salade Therese with watermelon, totally unbalanced. Watermelon and feta with butter lettuce is fine, but the pecans, a few stray cherry tomatoes, and a dressing that barely has any flavor. Some stray strands of lettuce on the side and two slices of focaccia without dip or spread, so it was bone dry. For €16.50, this is ridiculous. The cauliflower was okay, but the batter was very thick. A bit of a strange starter. Too many different sauces and peanuts that were far too brown (I think they were deep-fried). Steak tartare was very tasty! The deviled egg that came with it was an egg from a bucket, with the yolk inside, far too over-seasoned. The asparagus side dish was tasty, but the fries were too expensive for what you get. The service is friendly and attentive. All in all, it is a pleasant place to be, and the food is okay, but with the name Boer on the menu and the facade, I really expected a cohesive whole for once. The food is truly unbalanced in some areas, something that really shouldn't happen in an establishment of this caliber.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Brasserie Jansen! We had a delicious meal on the pleasant terrace. The burger was excellently prepared and bursting with flavor. The Caesar salad was also a hit, featuring crispy chicken, a fresh dressing, and a beautiful balance of flavors. A nice surprise was the local beer, which paired perfectly with the dishes. Additionally, it was noticeable that everything was presented with care: neatly arranged plates, pleasant cutlery, and dishes that show they were prepared with attention and craftsmanship. The service was friendly, fast, and attentive, without being intrusive. All in all, a place where hospitality, quality, and taste come together beautifully. We will definitely be back here again!

We went to a different brasserie every day, and each one had its own unique charm. Definitely recommended!

Had lunch and chose the Philly Cheesesteak. Meat well prepared, cheese well melted. Delicious with the onions and capers. The plate could have been presented more nicely and perhaps a better knife for the hard rolls. Service felt a bit rushed. Staff came quickly to ask if we wanted something to drink, while we had to wait a very long time to order for lunch. We were also not immediately asked if we were there for lunch. The guests next to us, who sat down later, were served faster and had their food before we had even ordered. All in all a good experience with a few points for improvement.

It is a cozy place with an open kitchen. Friendly staff. My fish and chips was decent... the pieces were unevenly cooked... so one piece was just crispy and the other piece was actually three pieces and they were completely soft. There was one piece that was really tasty. In short, just not quite. I heard from the others that their food was very good... so maybe I just didn't get lucky. Friendly staff

I've eaten there 4 times now, but I enjoy it every single time! Fantastic dishes and you can tell the atmosphere and service are top-notch! Delicious wines. Something recognizable from Brass Boer and Librije! Really enjoyed it and definitely worth repeating! Managed to find a spot at Jansen without a reservation. A stroke of luck. Received pleasant service and had a truly delicious meal. Red snapper fillet and perfectly cooked beef tenderloin. Highly recommended for a flavorful dinner in Zwolle!

Brasserie Jansen has become a real favorite of ours. We especially enjoy bringing our children here because there's a lovely children's corner where they can have a great time. They also have delicious dishes for them, allowing us to relax and enjoy ourselves. A perfect combination!

What a cozy place with lovely seating areas for socializing. We came here with the taste-explorer tour. We were treated to a delicious cup of tea/coffee and a small banana éclair. The staff were very friendly!

The food was fantastic. We were actually going to have drinks and some appetizers before a theater visit. Instead, we opted for something more substantial. I had the tenderloin with fried Brussels sprouts and bacon, and "luxury" fries. I also had some bread with spreads beforehand. It hadn't been this good in a long time. Everything was delicious. Even every sauce (3) with the fries was finger-licking good. Kudos to the kitchen team. My wife had the whole plaice. If filleting isn't your thing, it's not easy, but it was delicious nonetheless. We'll definitely be back a few more times next year, at the most charming square in Zwolle!

Had a burger for dinner tonight. The flavor was good, and the meat wasn't overcooked. However, if you have to eat gluten-free, like me, you don't get a bun, but two gluten-free sandwiches. It gives you more of a lunchtime feel. The fries couldn't be gluten-free, so they were omitted. Perhaps they could have been replaced with a few fried potatoes to make it a more filling meal. The staff were knowledgeable about gluten content, or they were willing to ask.

I love coming here to eat, but tonight takes the cake. The oysters beforehand were delicious, as was the wine. The main course (wild stew) gave me a sore jaw—a disgraceful performance by this place! I mentioned this several times, which led to death glares from the chef and staff. It's a shame, because I love eating here!

The taste was good, but the burger wasn't cooked through. That's unacceptable, especially for that price. We thought the prices were too high anyway.

Cozy atmosphere. Thérèse's lunch salad was very disappointing; it was almost all salad and hardly any goat cheese or nuts, making it boring and not filling. For the first time in my life, I even had an extra lunch at home. Olive oil or butter with the (dry) bread served would also be a nice addition.

I recently had lunch with four friends here at Brasserie Jansen in Zwolle, and I definitely recommend it. Delicious, beautiful, and simple food, and friendly service. And no fewer than five different white wines by the glass (thanks to Thérèse, I think :)). We sat at a round table up front, near the bar, which I found a bit crowded, so next time I'll ask for a table in the quieter section.

The price-quality ratio of the dishes was disproportionate. The plaice was substandard, with hardly any meat on the bone. The flavor of the 5 appetizers (€6 each) was nothing special. The tenderloin was also a tiny portion and not particularly good in texture or flavor. No garnish was included in the price, the salad I ordered was very tasty, but the fries were overcooked and not very good. Including one drink, the total price was €80.25 for 2 people. Bizarre!

We went here through Smaakverkenners. We had coffee/cappuccino and an éclair. We didn't eat anything else. But we received a friendly welcome and were served quickly. The atmosphere is cozy, and what was very helpful was the red/green light that indicated whether the restroom was available or occupied.

The reception was very impersonal, with a gum-chewing woman looking at you but saying nothing. Then, after a while, someone finally welcomed you. Reservations were usually the same, but luckily there were some who seemed to enjoy their work. Little information was given, and coffee arrived much sooner than dessert. The main course was neatly presented on one plate, a bit more chaotic on another, and all the portions varied, from small to quite large. For the price charged, I would recommend choosing a different restaurant if service is important to you.

It was quite disappointing: the "Zwolle stew" turned out to be a pale pastry topped and surrounded by some dry pieces of meat. No vegetables. A "portion" of fries turned out to be a small bowl of some cooled fries. The orange bonbon with the coffee was a small square of chocolate with a faint orange flavor, measuring 2 cm by 0.5 cm. I'll never go back to Jansen's in Zwolle.

I’m just shocked! I used to love this place and recommended it to my friends. But one visit changed everything! I decided to take «Beef tenderloin» and I got a hair in mashed potatoes They offered a new dish, but I refused, according to the laws of public catering I can refuse the dish and ask to remove this dish from the check To which they replied that I ate half and they can’t remove it from the check. We visited Jansen's this afternoon. It was busy. There were a few things that stood out. We ordered a club sandwich and a 12-hour meal. The taste was good. However, the proportions of the club sandwich were out of balance. The tomato was sliced ​​far too thinly, and the chips served were broken and small. The 12-hour meal was served with a soup spoon that was far too large. There were no other spoons available. We ended up eating the soup with a dessert spoon. Another notable feature was the waitresses' attire, which was sloppy and could be much neater. They worked hard, but it could be much better. Good luck with the shop.

Gisteren geluncht bij deze Brasserie. Echt een tegenvaller. We kozen voor de steak tartaar. €21. Voor die prijs verwacht ik iets anders dan alleen vlees met stukjes augurk erop en een slap stukje getoast brood. We moesten meer dan een half uur wachten op ons eten. We hadden er frietjes bij besteld. Die waren heel erg zout en ze waren al wat afgekoeld toen ze op tafel kwamen. Het glas chardonnay was prima. Ik had een betere prijs-kwaliteit verwacht van een brasserie van de eigenaren van De Librije

After my sister's graduation ceremony on Wednesday evening, we went to Brasserie Jansen in Zwolle for dinner. We were seated right away, which was lovely, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the ravioli I actually wanted wasn't available, so I opted for the risotto. It was okay, but a bit bland—it lacked a bit of spice or depth. The limoncello spritz, on the other hand, was delicious and surprisingly strong; we felt it right away! For dessert, I had the tarte tatin, which was just fine—not exceptional, but certainly a good way to end the meal. The atmosphere was wonderful, especially because we were sitting outside on the terrace in the beautiful weather. All in all, a successful evening, although I hope the ravioli will be there again next time!

Seeing and being seen, that is something that is quickly clear to me as a Westerner unknown in the city. However, I find show-offs in overpriced cars who constantly drive over your toes annoying everywhere in the world, so I will not return until this street is also car-free. Nb a single toilet with such a capacity of seats makes no sense.

Het eten was erg lekker (omelet en tonijnsalade), maar de bediening was niet bepaald om over naar huis te schrijven. De vrouwelijke medewerkers waren vriendelijk, maar luisterden niet echt, zodat we twee keer iets anders kregen dan we hadden besteld. Eén mannelijke medewerker was ronduit onbeschoft. Hij zette een glas heet water neer voor een van ons, maar zonder thee. Toen degene voor wie dat bedoeld was om een zakje thee vroeg, pakte hij een willekeurig zakje uit de theedoos die op de bar stond en gooide (!) het ongeïnteresseerd, zonder een woord te zeggen, op tafel en liep weg. Verder was het er nogal lawaaiig, deels door de akoestiek, deels door de muziek die op stond. Nogmaals, het eten was uitstekend, maar dit is niet een plek waar we nog een keer naartoe gaan.

Reserved a table 1 to 2 weeks in advance and the reservation was confirmed. At the last moment the reservation was cancelled by email. We would have found a telephone explanation decent and besides that it was also difficult to find something else at such short notice.

Had a sandwich here for lunch in the sun. Tuna on sourdough was great. I can also recommend the 12 hours. Staff very friendly and helpful. The only negative point was the cutlery, the knife was not sharp enough to cut the bread!

Drukke zondagavond: aardige bediening; voorgerecht steak tartaar en zalm prima, hoofdgerechten lieten erg lang op zich wachten. Ossenhaas was er niet meer, t gekozen alternatief: entrecote medium was taai, dorade goed maar voor beide gerechten) prijs te hoog voor de hoeveelheid en kwaliteit. Jammer! De wijnen waren erg goed!

Omdat deze brasserie onderdeel uitmaakt van de Librije-groep wilden we dit adres eens uitproberen. Gezellige en sfeervolle entourage, een echte place-to-be. Wel lawaaierig maar dat past bij een brasserie. Het personeel was vriendelijk en adequaat. De lunchkaart biedt genoeg keuze. Wij kozen voor de Tunamelt en de Jansenburger. Het vlees van de hamburger was echt goed vlees. De liflafjes op het broodje waren smakelijk. De friet viel ons beide tegen: superzout(!) en dun qua formaat. We hadden hier eigengemaakte frieten verwacht. De Tunamelt was redelijk. De rode ui was denk ik gekarameliseerd en daar was ik niet echt van gecharmeerd. Het desembrood vond ik persoonlijk niet bijzonder, dat mag van mij wel robuuster van smaak en structuur zijn. Nadat we onze borden leeg hadden had ik een behoorlijke zoute/kruidige/niet helemaal natuurlijke smaak in mijn mond, beetje jammer. We hadden al met al de smaakbeleving wat 'boerser', meer naturel verwacht; er worden waarschijnlijk smaaktoevoegingen gebruikt. Misschien wel op natuurlijke wijze, dat zou kunnen, maar de basissmaken verdwijnen door de toevoegingen en dat vinden wij zonde. Ondanks deze ervaring willen we nog wel een keer terugkomen!

It was chilly in the shade, but a little later the sun made up for it on the terrace. The service was very good, correct and full of attention to us. We didn't have to wait to order. The wines were named correctly and they were tasty, as was the lunch for the three of us. A nice terrace with a good menu where we will happily return.

Alleen koffie gedronken, duurde lang voor deze kwam terwijl het niet overdreven druk was. Ook de smaak was niet top. Heel wat anders; op het toilet stapeltje damesverband in diverse maten. Top!!

Starter, main course and dessert were all not great. The salmon starter was mediocre in taste. The sauce that was served with it was much too cold (straight from the refrigerator), which did not improve the taste. Salmon very simply presented. Main course entrecote was well cooked, but not very well seasoned. My table companion had tenderloin tips. The sauce was just really not tasty (tasted like mint instead of pepper) and the tenderloin itself was dry and therefore overcooked. Dessert was Zwolle waffle. The waffle itself had very little flavor, very bland. The cherries could be counted on one hand and the sauce was far too watery and therefore could not make up for the bland taste of the waffle. My dining companion had the Dame Blanche for dessert. Combining soft ice cream with chocolate sauce was not a great combination in this one either. Overall a disappointing experience this time. Service was friendly and smooth. That has always been our experience at Brasserie Jansen.
