Brasserie Koriander in Charlois

New owner, polished interior, new staff. Already had lunch a few times, now dinner. Lovely in the garden; it remains a cozy spot. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. The food is fine (better than under the previous owner). For example, the Bavette is beautifully tender and has a great flavor. I hadn't encountered the tuna in this form before, Indonesian style. With Sayur sambal green beans (listed as a corrupted version on the menu). A unique combination of tuna steak and spices. Very tasty. Undoubtedly a recommended location, possibly combined with a stroll in the Zuiderpark. 2 years ago Great place to spend time. This time on a warm day on the terrace with a glass of wine and a charcuterie board. But I have also eaten here often. The selection isn't very large, but there is always something to suit your taste. It is prepared very well. The service is always extremely friendly and helpful, and that certainly determines an important part of the atmosphere. It is pleasant inside, with just the right amount of space between the tables. And the terrace is lovely in any case. Partially covered, for those who prefer to avoid the sun. There is always a nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Super chill place, nice terrace!

They took my allergies into account so well. First during the telephone reservation, then for dinner the chef came to the table to go through the menu with me, and at the end he came to ask if everything had been to my liking. I felt very welcome and had a delicious meal! And the terrace is very atmospheric. The tables are spaced far apart. The waiting time was discussed, which is another big plus!

The ambiance remains very nice and charming, but the food and especially the service were very mediocre. The dishes were not warm enough. When we pointed this out, the response was neither good nor decisive. In any case, the staff had good intentions, but they still have a lot to learn.

Hi, great that Koriander is open again. The service was super. Just sorry, the food wasn't; the bavette was overcooked and my son didn't like the kids' menu burger. Really a shame. Such a nice place and good service, but do something about the chefs.

What a fantastic location with a beautiful terrace. We were able to enjoy a lovely dinner outside. The menu features both classic and lesser-known dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed it all. So, as far as we are concerned, it is highly recommended and we will certainly be coming back again!

What a fantastically beautiful hidden spot. The courtyard and terrace are beautiful; actually, I’ve never really been inside, so I have no idea what that is like. Outside: good, spacious spots, a cozy terrace that feels like a Mediterranean garden. You feel relaxed immediately. Denis is the new owner now, after it was closed for a while. Again, the service is great and friendly, and the lunch is delicious. The two times I was here, I came by bike from Barendrecht. It’s perfectly doable. It is located on a small dike that is a dead end for cars. But I think you can park on the side of the dike. In any case, I am a big fan. Together with a friend, we always make a combination outing of this: first a good walk through the – often surprisingly beautiful – Zuiderpark. Then lunch. And that actually always runs over, and we end up sitting too (?) long. So, they certainly know how to create a cozy atmosphere. Glad that "you guys" are open again!

What a wonderful experience, the atmosphere was great. We sat comfortably under the canopy outside with a group of 20 people and were served delicious dishes. How nice that De Koriander is open again under your wings!

It's so great that they are open again. We have been coming here with great pleasure for 21 years. The Loaded Fries Redang is unbelievably delicious. The staff makes it top it all off.

The revamped Koriander is highly recommended! Beautifully renovated, tastefully decorated, and still retaining that familiar warm ambiance. The nice thing is that you see the old familiar faces again, making it feel familiar immediately. The terrace is lovely, the food and drinks are well taken care of, and the service really makes the difference: friendly, attentive, and hospitable. A place you love to return to. The revamped Koriander has clearly been given a fresh look, but fortunately while retaining the familiar feeling. Worth a solid 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I ate at De Koriander yesterday. I really enjoyed myself. The service was very friendly and fast. I had a really tasty burger. And there was a very cozy atmosphere on the terrace!

The revamped Koriander leaves you wanting more; today, for the first time since the reopening, we were able to enjoy the delicious dishes and great atmosphere in the heart of Charlois. With a fresh start, the new owner has, in our opinion, lived up to expectations. The menu is the same as always but also renewed; the quality has certainly improved in our view. Nice, spontaneous, and sharp service, and the location tops it all off. We will definitely be back.

What a great experience at this cozy café! The coffee was absolutely top-notch – rich in flavor and at the perfect temperature. I also ordered a toasted sandwich and a slice of apple pie, both delicious. The service was friendly, spontaneous, and always up for a chat. The decor was stylish with a warm feel, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The clientele was diverse, which made it extra cozy. I felt right at home here immediately. The prices are fair and the quality excellent. This is the kind of place where you can sit for hours without noticing the time. I will definitely be back soon.

What a lovely atmosphere! The restaurant seems a bit hidden, but the garden is very nice. You do have to choose where to sit. We sat on a somewhat rickety garden bench, but that didn't spoil the fun. The service is pleasant and enjoyable. The food is really good. Beautifully prepared... my soles were delicious and buttery soft. The fries and salad could be a bit more. But it's cozy and comfortable in the beautiful garden. Eating inside is also nice.

Lovely front garden. We had a delicious tuna melt sandwich. The peppers were really hot, though. Not your thing.

And bankrupt again. Last opened at the end of September. A certain male staff member isn't the friendliest and acts rather prim and proper. I'm hoping for another takeover, again. And that this time it might survive, even though it's a brasserie where they really rely on the terrace-goers when the weather is nice. It's a shame it's gone bankrupt for the third time. What's the reason for that?

Really nice terrace, the staff are always incredibly friendly. Simple but delicious menu.

A few months ago, it was a great place, and I would give it 5 stars all around. But now, it's understaffed, which I can't blame the waitstaff for, and it probably needs a new chef. Medium tuna didn't quite come straight from the sea. We asked for a new one, but it was just thrown in the oven. Then, on a new plate, we received an overdone and dry dish that we didn't specify. And the waitstaff claims it wasn't, even though you can see the cut-off piece. Mixing raw garlic into mayonnaise and daring to call it aioli, then lying to the staff so they tell you no, that's how it's supposed to be. Disgusting place for now, and I hope they get better staff soon.

Unfortunately, tonight was not a party like before. Vitello tonato without tuna mayonnaise and the tuna steak was initially raw instead of medium. Sent back, I would get a new one, butttt got the piece back but now completely overcooked. No go. Service was lousy and tried to justify everything. My son had smashed chicken tacos, chicken was hardly there and the aioli was inedible. He got aioli from a jar instead. Mmmmmm. Just wait until there is a real chef in the kitchen again.

We had a nice evening here with a large group! At the back there is an area where we could sit together and where there was also room for our own activities. Received full cooperation from management for this. Predetermined menu was fine. The food was delicious, everything was well coordinated and the various dishes were neatly served at the same time. Price per person includes bread in advance, menu and 3 or 4 drinks per person. Definitely recommended for small and large groups!

We got married here at the end of September and the day was perfectly organized. We liked the service exceptionally well, knowledgeable and pleasant staff who really think along. There was room to hold the ceremony, we had a delicious meal and a wonderful party. Everything could be sorted out and we were very happy with that. The menu options were top notch, the hospitality was excellent. We have taken this place to our hearts and can recommend it to everyone.

Ate here on Saturday the 21st. Everything is fine. Food, location, everything good. But, dear people of the Coriander, I would like to mention The Incident. I won't go into the content here, just be aware of the impact something like that has on a terrace (and business?) full of people. That is not small!!

What a lovely high tea we had here with family. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious Where do you get that tea? It's the best I've had. For my very first high tea, I certainly thought it was a very successful one!

Sunday with two friends, sister and my mother, after finding my dream wedding dress, the day ended festively with a high tea at Brasserie Koriander 🥰 The snacks were delicious, the tea cups/pots cheerful, the terrace very cozy and the service very friendly and hospitable. Thank you, this special day was complete because of you!

Last Friday we had a lovely sit on the terrace at Koriander. There was a very pleasant atmosphere, not least because of the nice staff. Quick to serve and also excellent in advice about wine, for example. That and the quality of the food rise above the level of what I expect from a brasserie. So above expectations.

I was a constant customer of the place with old owners, so been there many times. Now tried well known burger - the patty was too dry and smoked fish salad - almost the same as before. However tomato soup was not great and brie as well. Panini were just ok. Service was good and setting is still good. But food may be improved.

Especially when the weather permits eating on the terrace, Koriander is one of the nicest restaurants in the South
