Right at the entrance to Rotterdam harbor. Excellent food...great service. And the view...priceless. Thank you...we'll be back!

My mother and I have lunch here regularly on Mondays, just like today. The view, the food, the service: top-notch! A warm welcome. The cuisine is amazing.

The sandwiches with brie and salmon were perfect, beautifully served, and very tasty. The fried egg, however, was a huge disappointment. The ham and cheese were not cooked with the meat, and the bread didn't taste very good. Furthermore, there was no garnish. That was a shame, because everything else was perfect!

Recently, I walked in here with my mother around 7:05 PM to enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Upon entering, we politely asked if this was still possible, which was confirmed by an employee. As soon as the coffee was served, we were suddenly told that they were closing. What created an incredibly unpleasant atmosphere was the attitude of manager Tim. He kept loudly and rudely asking the staff if we had already been told that we had to leave immediately after the coffee. He repeated this several times. Even though there were still other people inside at that moment, Tim's intimidating and customer-unfriendly behavior made us feel so uncomfortable that we didn't say anything more about it at that point and left immediately without even finishing our coffee. To make matters worse: when we walked past the establishment again 40 minutes later, we saw that there were still guests inside. It feels as if we were deliberately and very rudely kicked out by manager Tim. This is absolutely no way to treat guests. A very bad experience👎

Good food, good service, nice place.

A lovely restaurant with an outdoor terrace right on the water. You can enjoy a drink and a meal while watching the ships go by. The selection and quality of the food are very good. Small snacks for sharing are also available. The staff is friendly and helpful.

It is a fantastic place. I have been there 8 times already from Harderwijk. It is okay every time. One minor downside... Air conditioning would be lovely. It was (too) hot there all those 8 times. Otherwise fine.

Great stopover for dinner before boarding night ferry

Made a late reservation requesting a table by the window. Even that worked out. Very friendly staff, beautiful location and, not unimportantly, excellent food quality... Definitely worth a visit, we will certainly be back again.

Stumbled across this restaurant while looking for somewhere to eat before boarding ferry to Harwich. Delicious meal and great service - next time will try to arrive earlier to have more time to eat there.

Although many 'ordinary' restaurants have something vegan on the menu, they usually don't overflow with creativity. A burger, pasta with a sauce, or a risotto, for example. At Unicum Waterweg, Nick prepared an exquisite main course for us, in which the love for the culinary craft and the dedication were evident. To prepare it, he even went out to buy the right vegetables. All praise to him, and this was not our last visit.

Delicious food and super friendly staff!

We stopped for an early dinner prior to boarding our overnight ferry home. The service was warm and welcoming. No rushing of service which suited us perfectly. The food was fresh and delicious. They are big portions! So my only suggestion is, don’t over order!

Nice restaurant to relax for a bit after a visit to the market. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is friendly. The outdoor terrace is a bit on the small side, but otherwise everything is fine. A nice place to have something to eat or drink and unwind for a moment.

A very strange and disappointing experience that just took place (today around 7:20 PM). I asked for sugar packets for my coffee and my friend's. The waiter charged 0.50 euros per packet (1 euro in total). The biggest surprise was not that we had to pay for sugar, but that the waiter put the money directly into his own pocket instead of the till! This is extremely unprofessional and raises serious questions about the honesty here.

What terrible management. I wanted to throw a party for 45 people and took an option 4 months in advance. I contacted Max Moerman, and he put someone else in without consulting me because the times suited him better, and yes, he was on vacation for 5 weeks so he couldn't do anything about it! Terrible, what customer service! I will never go there again and won't spend a single euro there !!!!!!

A bit quiet, somewhat surprised because the food is super and the service is good! But the location makes up for a lot. Very beautiful.

We had a delicious lunch. Nice atmosphere, quiet, staff relaxed amongst themselves. Nice decor. Plenty of choice. Fast service. Sandwiches are well lit, not too much, not too little. Definitely recommended, we will certainly come back again.

The food was perfectly fine, and the service was quick and friendly. The terrace was a bit messy because some preparations were being made for a beer tap/fridge. Going to the toilet does carry a risk of head injury, so be careful 😄

Scandalous place, certainly unique, just like the one in the Westland, in its antisocial behavior. I heard through the grapevine that the toilets are unavailable for a disabled lady who needed to use the restroom. I understand that you shouldn't have just anyone in your toilet, but if you want to be unique, you should definitely continue with these kinds of practices. Unique in the Westland and also in HvH 👍.

An elderly woman with a walker came in who urgently needed to use the toilet; she even had a medical pass, but she was refused. You are not allowed to use the toilet there if you don't use anything. This is truly outrageous.

We were here today with my 85-year-old mother. We left after we managed with great difficulty to order one drink and a sandwich. The waitress can barely smile, or gives a forced smile. The plates aren't cleared even though the waitress walks past four times. Nor is anyone asked if you would like another drink. I think she was busy putting on her lip gloss behind the bar. In the end, after paying, we drove to De Bonte Haas in Wateringen just for the fun of it. Fortunately, the atmosphere there was totally different. What a shame! It was so much fun in the summer with the blonde waitress at Unicum—I can't remember her name right now.

Small portions for the absurd amount you pay. Finished most of it in just over 5 minutes. The fried egg sandwich was lukewarm. Service pleasant and attentive. In the evening, we could also order from the lunch menu, which was a godsend. Two items we ordered did not arrive.

We reserved a table in a quiet spot in the restaurant, as I have had a liver transplant and am not allowed to sit too close to large groups of people. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to eat everything on the menu (which is actually delicious), so I had cod, and that was very tasty too. The same applies to dessert; ice cream or scoop ice cream is out of the question, so a nice coffee is fine. Friendly service and helpful regarding advice about the transplant.

Haven't been there for a while, and that's going to happen again now. The food was just satisfactory, but they had clearly made the portions smaller and raised the prices absurdly.

Great little spot for lunch. You have a view of the harbor. The only downside for us was that there is less atmosphere than elsewhere.

Mediocre service. Food - nothing special. Carpaccio tasteless, 1 gram of Parmesan cheese on it. A lamp hanging above your table with a huge amount of dust on it falls right onto your plate of food.

The food was delicious. Only the desserts were disappointing, such as the crème brûlée, which was bland and lacked a wow factor. The chocolate sauce with the ice cream was disappointing, very watery.

The 70th wedding anniversary of our parents (95 and 96 years old) was celebrated with a 12 o'clock dinner at Unicum Super

I only saw it from the outside, so I can't write much more about it. But it had a lot of guests inside.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious, the fish was super fresh, the dishes were beautifully presented. The service was excellent. It's a shame we can't give it 1000 stars.

Just had dinner at Unicum in Hoek van Holland. For my main course, I ordered the sole fillet for €42. I expected a decent piece of fish for this price. In the end, I received a few pathetic strips of fish. I felt ripped off for paying €42 for this. I used to spend eight hours picking tomatoes for this meager dish. As I write this review, I'm still amazed that this restaurant dares to charge €42 for a few pieces of sole fillet. The service was excellent, so I felt it was inappropriate for a stingy Dutch person to complain about the portion size on a Friday night. I spent a total of €58 and left feeling empty, so I had to make a hamburger at home. In short: if you want to lose weight, Unicum is a good restaurant, but if you just want to fill your stomach, I wouldn't go there.

It's a unique spot, especially for taller people, but walking into the restaurant area can be a challenge. The food was excellent for lunch, and the service was top-notch.

It is certainly also the view! How fortunate that we have a table by the window with a view over the Nieuwe Waterweg and on the "other side" the Maasvlakte and its industry. Great atmosphere. Good atmosphere. Tea is fresh (ginger). The choice is huge and I still went for the fish & chips. It was really great, but I missed a bit of green food (it was fresh on my plate). The batter for the fish was thin and crispy. Tasty fries. The toilet was out of paper, luckily I noticed this in time 😅, but it was clean and tidy. Service was friendly. I don't think the price is exaggerated and what people spend on a price-quality lunch these days. I will definitely come back because the 12-hour etagiere looked very tasty 🍽🍸

Absolutely recommended! Location, location, location - as the saying goes ;) Nice view out onto the habour and the sea combined with good food. Reservation just 1/2 hour prior to the visit possible, nice team, warm welcome - everything was fine! Just be aware that the seafront is / windows to the harbour are facing south. So in warm and sunny conditions it may become quite hot.

On recommendation I came here for lunch. The location is beautiful on the water with a view of the passing ships. The restaurant is stylishly decorated and the terrace was pleasantly full. Due to the crowd it was a bit confusing for the staff, not surprising because it was a beautiful day last Sunday. We took a seat as instructed by the staff. After a while we were ready to order but we were not noticed. Other tables around us that came to sit later were helped first, perhaps the staff thought we had already been helped. When we could order we chose the high C and some extra bread with spreads. The high C was served on a cake stand of 3 plates with on the top plate 2 shrimp croquettes without shrimp in the filling, 2 torpedo shrimp, 4 pieces of kibbeling and ravigotte sauce. The plate below 2 slices of salmon 3 small pieces of eel, tuna salad and some Dutch shrimp. On the bottom plate 3 pieces of toast halved with some butter, whisky cocktail sauce and a honey mustard-like sauce. The bread with spreads were 6 pieces of bread with herb butter and butter. It was all quite meager, for €53,- I expected more. Add to that the bread for €8,- and 3 soft drinks you come to almost €73,-. Quite disappointing, but what disappointed me the most was how one of the staff members behaved. After paying we still had to use the toilet. We had to wait a while because one of the toilets had not been left so tidy. I reported it and then a man who worked there said that there were all dirty people staying there today. I thought that was a strange statement. Then he pulled the handles of the other doors to see what they looked like but the lady who went to the toilet before me probably had trouble closing the lock so he found her in the toilet. He then snapped at her curtly that she had to lock the door because that is what you do at home. She probably did not expect this because there was a queue anyway. All in all, we left this place dazed and decided to eat an ice cream at the snack bar by the water to end our lunch nicely.
