A really nice place to have a nice breakfast or just have a coffee.

It's a shame the black velvet isn't like it used to be. Hardly any cherries to be found in it… This is already the 3rd time I've had it after a while and it just doesn't contain any cherries anymore. It turns into quite a massive mess on your plate. The rest is tasty though.

Dudok is a real eye-catcher inside; when you walk in, you don't expect the interior to be paved. The food is perfectly fine, and the prices are reasonable too.

The vibe was pleasant, and our food was pretty solid. What really stood out was how friendly the service was—it just put me in a good mood, and the place had such a nice local feel to it. The apple cake was just okay, but the avocado bread and brunch were definitely worth it!

Delicious Red Velvet Cake, and the apple pie is naturally already the best in the Netherlands. No, that’s not an exaggeration! Update: different date. There might be a staff shortage, as taking the order took a long time and a few tables around us were not being cleared. But the stars are and remain for the delicious apple pie!

Open early, friendly service. Cappuccino sometimes perfect, but sometimes lukewarm, probably depending on where and who makes it. Cold cups or milk too lukewarm. There are courses for coffee machines in the hospitality industry these days. The pastries are very tasty.

We turned up on a Sunday morning without a reservation for 8 people but despite that the manager made effort to fit us in immediately. Service and food was outstanding. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place!

I was waiting for 15 minutes but nobody came to take my order ,then i informed them if anyone can take my order and they said they will come to me soon , after 10 minutes more nobody showed up and I left.

I regularly come here to enjoy a cappuccino, but lately the service has been, meh. Exceptions aside. Moreover, the cappuccino is lukewarm more often than hot. Just now I asked if I could sit alone at a table for 4. It wasn't busy, so that was fine. But surely you ask immediately if I want something or if I want to look at the menu first? Instead, the two small tables were pushed apart with a smeared sm... and then nothing more. I left after fifteen minutes. Unbelievable, especially knowing there is a new customer sitting there. I'm giving it another chance, but the fact is that the service has plummeted in recent weeks. It's a shame, because there are also very nice and friendly people working there.

Honestly the worst matcha latte that I’ve ever had. Already watered down since it came, I can only taste milk. Too overpriced for this kind of quality 😂

Worst service ever! Exactly a year ago, we looked at various venues for our wedding, including Dudok in het Park. Ultimately, we chose a different location, but my wife insisted on getting all the wedding cakes from Dudok. On the big day, our friends went to pick up the reserved (and paid-for) cakes; upon arriving at the agreed location, the cakes weren't there.... The only staff member present frantically called all the other venues, and our friends had to drive to 3 different locations to gather the cakes. Acknowledging their mistake and ensuring the cake arrived at the venue themselves was not possible; apparently, they don't understand that a fairly tight schedule applies on such a day. As a result, the bride's witness was late for the start of the photoshoot. But Dudok wanted to make amends: We received a voucher for a whole cake..... The rest of the day was perfect, so we just wanted to forget about it and not make a fuss, regardless of how extremely bad it was. Last weekend was our 1st anniversary; since we still had the receipt, my wife made an appointment for a Yellow Valvet cake, which was supposed to be set aside at De Meent. Upon arriving at De Meent, that cake wasn't there..... The only upside to this is that we are very glad we didn't get married at Dudok, if setting out cakes twice is already too much trouble......

I stopped by for a bit; I used to do an internship there. It has changed a bit, I noticed. But it was nice to see it. Dudok on the Meent. I did regret back then that I didn't go work there after my internship. It has been a while though; I was only 20 back then, but now I am 40, much older.

Restaurant and café with a beautiful, stylish ambiance, both indoors and outdoors. The service was very attentive and friendly. I had a cappuccino and the apple pie with ice cream and whipped cream. Both were delicious and attractively presented.

Just dropped in for a coffee and people watching on streetside terrace. Very attentive service and quick. Excellent cappuccino. Great atmosphere, carefully manicured outdoor space.

We had a delicious meal and a lovely time. Outside, there is a narrow terrace along the building. Inside, it is beautifully spacious and in a classic style. Absolutely beautiful!

Recommended by a guy I met by chance in Rotterdam, I found the best apple pie I've ever had! The espresso is also much better than many I've had in Italy. The place is wonderfully decorated and furnished, making the visit even more enjoyable!

If you want a delicious apple pie, you have to go to Dudok because it is really super tasty, with a nice cup of coffee on the side.

Very friendly service, food is quite pricey for what you get (lunch at least)

Just perfect! Lovely place, tastefully furnished with a lot of plants and a beautiful stained glass window so full of natural light. Really the best place to start your day. For breakfast there are plenty of choices: I opted for chia pudding which was amazing as my smoothy.

What a great store this is; they really have everything, of very good quality, and cheap.

Very tasty signature apple pie and refreshing drinks.

Smash burger was mediocre and the warm apple pie with ice cream was also mediocre. They only had 6-7 items for main course and I am unclear why they can’t excel on the limited menu.

We had delicious apple tart with cream and cinnamon ice cream. The tart was warm and very tasty. The cream and ice cream were also really good. The coffee was good too, not too strong or bitter. It was a shame that the kitchen closed very early; when we went back later in the evening for dinner, the kitchen was already closed (around 8 pm).

And what's more, they use Duralex lenses.

Served warm with a generous cloud of freshly whipped cream (the café is famous for it, and rightfully so), it delivers everything you could want—a firm, buttery crust cradling towering chunks of tart apple, perfectly spiced with cinnamon yet never cloyingly sweet. This spot radiates pure summer vibes and is absolutely ideal for a relaxed weekend outing around town. While the prices lean towards the higher side, the quality of the food, the impeccable service, and the sheer charm of sitting within a piece of architectural history make every euro well spent. If you're in Rotterdam, don't miss it.

tasty bites and nice people-watching outside on the terrace

The famous apple pie definitely lived up to its reputation. It was delicious, and the fresh whipped cream paired perfectly with the warm apple pie, although it came at an extra cost. The outdoor seating area was lovely, making it a great place to enjoy the summer sunshine, especially in the late afternoon. However, I was disappointed during my visit because they weren't serving any savoury food due to a private event that evening. Unfortunately, there was no notice about this in advance. I noticed that many customers, including myself, felt frustrated after spending time choosing what to order, only to find out that the savoury menu was unavailable.

This location is busy area, lots of people and many ways of transportation passing by. Food was delicious and a right portion except smoke salmon was too salty for my taste buds. Even though they were busy since it was lunch time, and we're incredible to accommodate everyone. Outdoor sitting was fabulous with amazing weather- windy and gloomy. FYI: Paranoia will kill you. The lady was sitting next to me has one. Even I don't understand her through her tone of voice, body language, and the conversation with her daughter. She dislike me. That is all - PARANOIA.

Perfect place for coffee and cake. Don't order the lemonade; for 5 euros, you get the ultimate insult regarding the size of the glass.

I paid €18 for a single frozen ‘smash’ burger. It really wasn't good.

A great place for coffee and apple pie. It seems to be their specialty. It was recommended to us as one of the best places for this traditional dessert, and it was indeed delicious.

I had high expectations for Dudok Rotterdam, as I planned a surprise dinner for my wife’s birthday and arranged in advance to have a birthday cake served. Unfortunately, due to a miscommunication between staff across two consecutive days, they failed to deliver what was promised. Instead of bringing out the cake nicely presented, they simply brought it to our table still inside its cardboard box, with no candles or firecrackers. It completely ruined the surprise element of the evening. The venue and atmosphere are nice, but the lack of internal communication and attention to detail for special occasions was really disappointing. One of the staff was rude and was not accepting that they failed, other two staffs were nice and they apologized.

A large, very nice place to stop for breakfast, coffee, or cakes. We were four adults who went for breakfast.

Apparently, this is a very hyped spot in Rotterdam. Unfortunately, it didn't really impress me overall. First, the good things: they have a large selection of different cakes, which were indeed delicious. The coffee was just okay. Now for the downsides: we had to wait a very long time to place our order and for everything to arrive, even though it wasn't busy. I think the price-performance ratio is okay, but not entirely fair. Generally, the interior was a bit dirty. The tables were still covered in crumbs, and the restrooms were really unpleasant… It's a shame, because the café actually has really delicious cakes, but ultimately, the overall impression has to be right.

This restaurant is not recommended at all. There were three of us, and we moved from the terrace to inside. They lost our order, it took a long time to bring the food, and frankly, it wasn't anything special. I won't be back.

Visited for the first time for a drink. The cappuccinos arrived cold and the coasters were dirty. Also, the ice in the glass arrived melted with the soft drinks. I assume they were sitting on the bar waiting for a while. When we asked for new cappuccinos, only one was brought out. And later, only one cappuccino was served that was warm. I had to ask again for the second warm cappuccino. I didn't find the pastries fresh. The waiter looked like a kangaroo constantly jumping down the entrance stairs. It causes a distraction when you want to enjoy a quiet drink. Taking your job a bit more seriously can ensure guests have a better experience.

Really bad service! We were supposed to have 2 drinks included with Breeze. We asked for 2 cocktails and asked if these would be included or not, the waiter said she would check if it was possible. After few min we got the 2 cocktails delivered and the waiter said nothing. So we assumed it was fine, anyways she made the cocktails. At the moment of paying the surprise, they wanted us to pay for it. This was really a bold move from them. We complained. The waiter turned this into a "misunderstanding" and did not want to remove the drinks from the bill. We ended up into a discussion which took minutes and we found this RIDICULOUS! When you as a waiter make a mistake there is no way the client is responsible for paying. It ended with us still having to pay 1 drink! In 10 years living in the Netherlands this is the first time something like this happens to me. Will never come to this place again and I hope this message is going to be seen by the management. Last but not least, we reported the place to Breeze.

Nice location, plenty of tables outside, you can even sit on a bridge. The food is simple but good, nothing too special but you get what you need for a good price.

On my second visit, we had supper at 9:30 pm. The cream and apple pie were delicious, but unfortunately the restaurant had already closed and there was no hot food left. I was flying back to Taiwan from Brussels the next morning.

Service was fast and food was tasty

Tasteless. The burrata salad is full of what should be very tasty items like sundried tomatoes and artichokes. This one tasted like all the ingredients came from jars and then sat in the fridge for a week. No taste, just endless chewing bc everything tasted the same. Soup (tomato) was tepid but it was not supposed to be. I gave up after half. Service was beyond slow. It was apathetic and indifferent. If we needed anything, we tried waiting and waiting but always invariably had to go find someone. After so many times of looking - ie needing to order or a water or a coffee or a check… you just felt annoyed. All to eat bad food. And we ate at 4pm, hardly a busy time. Don’t bother. Go to Cafe Marseille instead! The best!

Always had a hate and love relationship with this place. Was here with a friend for a cup of tea and to catch up. Ordered ginger tea but got a cup full of ginger parts and it didn’t look fresh at all. The ginger was colored and the tea water was lukewarm. When I asked for a bit of hot water the girl snapped at me and said ‘uhhh no we don’t do that you pay for the full cup of warm water’. She gave me the feeling I was trying to benefit from them or something. Anyhow- never ever coming back to this place. There problem has always been the stuff. There only luck is there location in the city center otherwise they had a different future. Thank you for reminding me not to visit Dudok again. 🙏🩷🤍🩵

Breakfast selection is very limited, and it is very expensive for what you get.

Great experience. I was served by Lotus who was very responsive and kind in answering my questions and suggesting items. The food was great and the atmosphere outside quite nice!

Chicken satay almost raw, fries half-baked limp, pale sticks. Tea undrinkable, so filthy. Comments are laughed off foolishly. A place to steer clear of. Dudok's response, that they hope I will have a better experience next time, makes it clear just how completely wrong this place is. Naturally, I will never set foot in this dodgy place with their half-raw, filthy satay again; I will save that better experience for a good restaurant.

Nice place but it was too crowded

You arrive at 7:30 pm on a Friday and order a beer and something to snack on, and they tell you the kitchen is already closed due to staff shortages. Unacceptable. I was only able to have one beer, without even some olives.

Dudok is mainly worth it for its famous apple pie, which is delicious, fresh and goes perfectly with coffee. The location is very good and the staff is helpful. The atmosphere is pleasant, although quite busy at peak times. A good stop for coffee and dessert in the center of Rotterdam.

Great 👍🏻 The best apple pie 🥧 i had in a very long time

Since Corona, Dudok had been our favorite Saturday breakfast spot, always with friends. We would sit there until at least 12:30, enjoying classical music and a delicious breakfast platter. Unfortunately, it has been decided from above that the noise is now just as loud as in other cafes or restaurants. So much for peace and quiet! And the platter has also been replaced by various plates. Shame on you, management. Because this is what made Dudok Meent so unique! We will look for another restaurant for breakfast next time. I'm sitting at Ikea now; quiet classical music is playing through the speakers! Life is busy enough as it is, after all🙈

Simple and then just really tasty fish and chips

Dudok in Rotterdam has a nice concept and a pleasant location. Overall, the food was okay. The Eggs Benedict were quite good, and the quality of the salmon was definitely a positive point. Unfortunately, the visit was still a bit disappointing. The coffee was nothing special, the service felt rather slow, and the place did not seem very clean — even though we visited on a Thursday morning, when it should normally be a bit quieter. All in all, it was solid, but not a particularly memorable experience. With more attention to service and cleanliness, it could be much better.

I just want to say, we are so impressed with @Dudok Rotterdam, We have loved every dish we have tried so far and are excited to continue trying more! For that I say Thank you!

Review Duroc Rotterdam Meent – ​​June 5, 2026 I understand that new rules must be introduced by management and that employees must enforce them. I have no problem with that in itself. However, my irritation arose from the way this was handled. During my visit, a lady at the table next to me was asked to stop using her laptop at the table. Remarkably, the special reading and laptop table was completely occupied at that moment, with the exception of one chair. The rule was therefore strictly enforced without taking the practical situation into account. Because I have been a customer at Duroc for years, I asked out of curiosity for the reason behind this suddenly introduced rule. A young employee came to my table to explain, but could actually only tell me that it was a management decision. Since I did not receive a clear answer to that, I asked to speak with the manager. Unfortunately, that only made the experience more disappointing. I was told a story that offered little clarity and mainly gave the impression that yet another new manager had been appointed who could not properly explain why these rules exist and what their purpose is. What bothers me most is that hospitality seems to be fading further and further into the background. Good hospitality is not just about enforcing rules, but also about communicating, listening to guests, and assessing situations with common sense. When regular guests ask questions about changes, you should be able to expect a clear and respectful explanation in return. For years, Duroc was a place I enjoyed visiting because of the relaxed atmosphere and hospitality. That is precisely why this experience disappointed me. Rules are fine, but without a logical explanation and without a sense of hospitality, they remain primarily rules for the sake of rules.

I came here ordered 2 drinks and half an hour later the girl comes to me to say last orders. I’m like what are you talking about it’s 19:30 the closing time is 22:30. And she’s like “we close at 20:00 because we are short staffed”. You are NOT short staffed. There are 4-5 teenage employees walking around. They can surely work a couple more hours. The true reason you close early tonight is because you have not many customers and looking to cut costs. Greedy!

I came here hoping to try the Yellow Velvet, but it wasn't on the menu. I was about to give up when I found it! The display window was labeled "CHOCOLADE." Delicious!

I have been disappointed with Dudok multiple times. A few times already, on a sunny evening at the Meent, I have been told time and again that the terrace has to close and only coffee and pastries are being served because there is no staff. This is frankly a missed opportunity for this location. It would be really great if another operator took over this location and turned it into a hotspot.

Great place to eat with a classic atmosphere

I was here to work on a school project. I only ordered the homemade iced tea. I had wanted to order another drink and perhaps a snack. But unfortunately, I couldn't get a waiter to come over. I was sitting inside, but it was very busy outside, so I kind of understand it. But it's still a shame. I also had to walk to the front twice for my drink and still had to wait well over 30 minutes to be served. In short: Nice atmosphere and a nice workspace. My drink was very tasty. Getting in touch with the staff could definitely be improved, but the interaction I had was very pleasant.

A historic Rotterdam restaurant, it now has several locations, but the most distinctive is definitely the one in the city center. Famous for their apple pie, they also offer an excellent brunch. The apple pie is definitely a must-try. The recipe is still a secret, and it's thick, crispy, and firm; the apples remain crunchy and not rubbery, and the pinch of cinnamon adds an extra touch. Also recommended by locals.

I liked beef salmon cheese plate

We had lunch there today. Sunny day we sat outside as did everyone else! Our sweet girl attended to us right away. I had the tuna melt which blew me away. It was open faced with tuna salad of course and melted cheese. Covered in some greens and tomato pieces. My wife had the falafel wrap and she raved about it. So with excellent food and service I would say this place has it all!

If you like modern architecture, you'll love this place. We had the apple pie, delicious!

Beautiful location, friendly staff

We stayed in rotterdam for 3 days, and we went to dudok for 2 times! First time, we had the apple pie and the red velvet, they were both soo good. The second time, we had breakfast there, this amazing waitress (that i cant remember her name but I think you'll feel the vibe) recommended for us, this sticky chicken, the eggs and the loaded fries, all three of them were sooo greatt. I would definitely recommend the warm apple pie and the loaded fries!

Very expensive half glass of lemonade.We ordered the eggs Dudok with smoked salmon and sadly the Hollandaise sauce had very very little flavour. The salmon and eggs were what you expect. For this price I expect much better, 2 plates, 2 drinks more than 50 euros. This was my second time here, the club sandwich was better value but after this experience I will not be back.

2 pieces left, unevenly cut, and I get the smallest piece as last order. That's how the service is here...

This was clearly RACIST behavior; he simply did not want us to sit down (probably because he thought we were 'foreigners'). I am deeply disturbed by his behavior. We started waiting while many tables were leaving. He also stopped two other waiters to help us on their way to find a table for us. Good location, only the bridge section is wobbly and noisy due to cars, but otherwise a nice view. 1 brown bread sandwich with aged cheese and a small tomato mound and some green sticks for approx. € 6.75 and € 3.75 for mint tea is a bit embarrassingly over the top. Just a bit. But better too expensive than unavailable. Otherwise pleasantly busy and quite cozy with plenty of good-looking chocolates. Good central shop.

I arrived at 7pm and was not allowed inside, even though I often visit this café in the evenings. The staff said only the outdoor seating was open. This was very disappointing, especially since I spent a long time commuting to get there.

I went to Dudok this evening; what should have been a lovely evening turned out so unpleasantly. The staff need to take a customer service course; such rudeness and antisocial behavior. I have never experienced anything like this at Dudok. You are losing customers this way!

This is one of those places you can visit any time of day and it always has some energy. The cake and coffee impressed me more than the main meal. Not spectacular, but a reliable spot that gets the job done
