I recomand this place for a meal with friends and kids. We enjoyed the fact that we could enjoy good food while the kids were playing nearby and we could enjoy the company of our friends.

Had a wonderful lunch with two friends. The only thing that briefly disrupted our meal was the roadworks at the end of the lunch break. However, we also sat inside for a bit. The service was excellent. Fantastic!

The food was good, but the menu could be a bit more exciting considering the prices. One disappointment was when my husband went to the restroom; there were no paper towels and the air blower was broken. The area around the restroom was also teeming with flies.

More expensive than others. You don't see that reflected anywhere.

Edit: when they come for the oil, the sound of the truck reverberates through the entire neighborhood. You should come up with something else. Quite a nice cafe, too bad the entire neighborhood can enjoy the noise pollution at night. Young people who work there see it as a discotheque after closing time, not taking into account the fact that they are surrounded by houses.

Participated in the Pub Quiz yesterday. It is a pleasant location that is also very easy to reach by car. The quiz is well put together. The pace is on the high side, making it not always easy to follow. Elsewhere, more time is taken to repeat the questions and the awards ceremony.

I was there I ordered fish and chips I got a small piece of fish that had little taste, the plate (gemel) was completely broken and sharp edges and to top it all off there were pieces of metal/plate in my fish which hurt on my teeth and afterwards I had a lot of pain in my teeth. I called the staff and they took it away to the kitchen. After this it took a very long time for them to come back and then I was allowed to choose another dish from the menu: hamburger with sweet Ordered potato fries and a coke Hamburger was nothing special, just white soft bun (10 in bag) There was a Friture hamburger on a slice of pickle and a slightly overcooked onion that was just black. When I had almost finished the burger, the fries were put on the table and these were not sweet potato fries but injured strange looking fries that had been hollowed out and had no majo added. ordered but received Fries were quite salty Others had already finished their food and after a long wait I got my 2nd choice The place looks nice when you enter, but the food they serve is just cheap and simple, the hamburger certainly not worth €16, much too expensive and certainly not worth the fish and chips for that piece of fish for €18 afterwards. still hungry When paying, they first give you the wrong receipt and then you get the right one, they just put everything on the receipt and had to pay the full price, they won't see me here again

Had a very bad experience when I came to eat with my family. This was our second time dining in 1 week because we love the food so much, but unfortunately our dinner was ruined by the guy who served us. Very rude, rude and unprofessional and spoke loudly to my parents. If I owned this place I would fire this guy immediately. Our compliments to the chef.

Nice place. Unfortunately, the vegetarian choice is limited. Since there was a new chef, the vegetarian burger has also been removed from the menu. It's a shame that De Peppel has not kept up with the times when it comes to vegetarian options.

Just good. We had a nice meal here. I had the pancakes, but I had the feeling that they came straight from a package ;). The coffee was really good though. Price-quality excellent. Service was friendly, but really plentiful.

At PPPL you mainly come for the fun, not necessarily for the great food. Not that it's bad, but certainly not special! The beautiful terrace, the perfect location and the conviviality make up for a lot! The food is nothing special and I have to be honest: it has been deteriorating lately and too often wrong! I usually order a carpaccio on white bread, but now for the fourth time (!) without bacon ("unfortunately they are gone"), but then the full €13 is charged! And without bacon it is much less tasty... That's just not possible! Without notifying us in advance, and yet having us pay for it in full!

I went twice, it was on the weekend, there is management weakness, it is an amateur business. We couldn't eat and on our second visit we couldn't order for an hour. We drank on an empty stomach and woke up. We even had to call the waiter for napkins, shame on the waiter!!! Please put napkins on the tables, it's a useless restaurant and bar, there's no need to go there.

If you order, you're in luck with sullen employees, no one looking at the table.

We did a pub quiz here. That was a lot of fun. Unfortunately the service was very slow. There was also an 'old' greasy smell and occasionally a pit smell passed by. We didn't eat here.

I’m mostly not that much as a picky person but the boy that was working whas not that friendly (the tipe of person that is above all ) when the shift change we get a friendly blond women the burger whas a bit to red but is not the type of place that you can feel welcome.

For lunch the crispy chicken wrap, a classic according to the menu, it was really not good! Strange piece of chicken, no guacamole, a slice of cheese on it?? How difficult can making a wrap be? When the waiter asked just before paying if everything had been satisfactory, I also gave my opinion and she would pass it on to the chef, I hope so for the next person who orders this! 5 stars for the atmosphere is because we sat outside!

Excellent friendly service, but the kitchen is really not that good anymore. Ordered Ikan Bali is a small dried out piece of fish with a drop of soy and a few fries. I don't understand how you dare to serve this to your customers for 18 euros. And when you tell the waiter that fish is not edible, you just take it for granted is just bad. But I ate some of my wife's ravioli, which was good.

€24.00 was charged for two pieces of cake, a tea and a coffee. There was also no voucher offered, so checking whether it is correct is not possible. So pay close attention! The coffee was tasty and the chairs are comfortable.

Even worse than last time; Unfortunately, PPPL has declined even further, which is a shame because I thought it wouldn't be possible since the last time I was there. The service: Very slow and very young and inexperienced. In addition, they pay little attention to the customer and more attention to each other (standing behind the bar with the phone, chatting with each other, etc.). The Kitchen: Is very slow, we waited an hour for 1 Ikan Bali and 2 Chicken Satay. For the sake of completeness, the place was half empty. The food itself was not tasty, the chicken satay was not tender and the Ikan Bali was breaded fish with some sambal. Not tasty. Price: With a chicken satay for 19 euros (3 small sticks with a small bowl of fries) and an Ikan Bali for 18 euros with a piece of bread, it is outrageously expensive! Conclusion: Don't go here, there are plenty of other places where the food is tasty and the prices are reasonable.

What a worthless place this has become.... used to eat a lot, but since the (NOW) new menu it has completely collapsed. Mini portions, tough steak (didn't ask how you wanted it) cold fries. everything was way below par. Took a very long time for the food to arrive. And the wait staff was young and unprofessional. Too bad because this used to be a very good thing. The last time for us.....

Whenever we are in the area we always stop here for a nice cup of coffee. The same goes for today. Two cappuccinos and two carrot cakes. The pieces of carrot cake were slightly thicker than a slice of cake and I had to pay €19 for this at checkout. Just bizarre, unfortunately our last cup of coffee here.

Ate there yesterday, for a long time the food was less and it was no longer the ppl we are used to. Well, to our surprise, new menu, new chefs, new shirts. Nice atmosphere and most importantly GOOD FOOD. And you don't have to wait long either. pppl is back on track!!!

After a long time we made the effort to eat at De Peppel again, and to our surprise the food was very tasty, the tenderloin is highly recommended, good atmosphere, good staff and nice music. Until next time!!!

The goat cheese salad was meh. The least goat cheese salad I have ever eaten.

Pppl... Well. They really only exist because it is the only eatery in the area, but otherwise they really had no right to exist. It really has a lot of potential, but everything is a drama... The staff seems to change weekly and the kitchen is very mediocre. Cowardly and overpriced dishes, which are often served lukewarm and incomplete. You're better off going to the Spanish tapas place around the corner. They have really tasty dishes there and are much better priced.

Staff walk back and forth a lot but see little. Ordered a warm ham sandwich. Well, the sandwich turned out to be a sandwich, there were 5 slices of ham on this sandwich. Don't know if you know what a ham on the bone looks like... and the warm ham on the bone was cold ham on the bone. It took a very long time so we just had to wait a long time before it was served. sad intention. When passing on: o that was not the intention. No more. Read a lot of bad reviews. Business has started well but is quickly falling below average. I don't think I'm a real chef and I don't know much about it. Too bad, nice place in a great location.

Koekela's cake for 6 euros each turned out to be a wholesale cake. So a lot less tasty. Even after our questions about this and our statement that we were disappointed with this, only apologies, no discount. We received the explanation that a new card had been introduced and it was very annoying that we still had an old card, but we saw that the service machine simply said Koekelataart. And we don't think that's fair. Sorry guys, next time just give a discount if you knowingly deliver something different than what is on the menu!

Lovely neighbourhood cafe with good service and choice of meals. Good playpark just opposite so parents can enjoy their time while kids play in the park. There is a small road between the park and Peppel's so beware. Lovely place and nice feeling with nice people. Tram 125 drives nearby and there are lots of little shops in the street also.

The boy who helped us was very nice. And the dishes to share are very tasty and sufficient. The spareribs, however, are the saddest plate of spareribs I have ever seen. Terribly small. Small portion of fries next to it. If you only order that, you will not be filled and certainly not happy. And I think that should be the idea for a main course. Too bad, but we will eat our spare ribs elsewhere from now on.

What a fantastic evening I had in this restaurant! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed. The girl who served us was extremely friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome straight away!

Food was ok, not special, but ok. But it took an hour for the starter to arrive. After coffee we were a bit left to our own devices. We just paid. We won't be coming back here anytime soon.

Fantastic restaurant. Very smooth service with a passion for the business. Delicious fries, satay and burger. Had a nice family evening in the separate room for 25 people.

Clearly no real chef present in the restaurant. With pain in my stomach, I paid 44 euros last Thursday for this disastrous meal. (Everything comes from the fryer). Strange that I had to wait another 30 minutes for it. 6 pieces of brown bread for 6 euros. 5 pieces of “crispy” pork belly for €10 and €10 for “warm” goat cheese. But what did I get…. Fried mess with a lettuce leaf on top. By the way, without the reported figs and onion compote. (See pictures) Indicated that was deeply disappointed in the quality of the food. The criticism was kindly received with; “That's annoying to hear.” That's it. If I wanted fries I would have been better off going to Snackbar on the corner. They are even better at it too. And you've lost half.

De Peppel is nice. The service can be better. I often have to wait a long time before I am helped. Food is tasty. Could be better.

Cold croquettes...kitchen where staff is not adequately dressed...step leather for kitchen door...everything very mediocre.

We ate with a group of about forty colleagues for 27 euros per person at Peppel Eten & Drinken. Drinks were at your own expense. The food consisted of a starter and a main course. I had no choice as a vegetarian, which I understand as it was a pre-discussed menu. The starter was not tasty: a mini pita bread (cold and sour) with humus that had hardly any taste. As a vegetarian I opted for portobello. I got a portobello as a hamburger bun with a piece of goat cheese two fingers high. The portobello was tough and dry. The goat cheese was not heated and too much. The vegetables that came separately were not enough for the entire group and were also tasteless. The fries were tasty, but there was not enough for the group and you always had to wait a long time before new ones arrived. After dinner I wanted a Latte Macchiato. That was not allowed because the group was too large. If it had been busy in the restaurant I would have understood that, but it was not busy. In short, if you are with a large group, it is better not to go to Peppel Eten & Drinken: expensive, tasteless, little and not customer friendly. (A number of non-vegetarians also complained.)

Had to wait no less than a full hour for our order on Sunday at 12 noon (lunch) after having made a prior reservation. Last year you arrive with the whole family reserved for Mother's Day; case spontaneously closed for football match. It may all be a coincidence, but we wish everyone the best of luck!

Toch maar eens bezocht. Leuk eetcafe om te zien. Na binnenkomst bleek het normale tapbier op te zijn?? Nog nooit meegemaakt. Binnen was het best fris. Tomatensoep was meer tomatenpuree, soep was dusdanig dik dat lepel er heel langzaam in omviel. Toen we er wat van zeiden wilden ze het verdunnen met water?? De hamburger,sate en kindermenu's waren ok. Wel wat aan de zuinige kant. Bij afrekenen stonden er diverse fouten op de bon. Personeel was allemaal erg jong. Niet echt duidelijk wie nou de leiding had. Al met al... Voor ons leuk om wat te drinken en een hapje voor de gezelligheid, maar niet voor een avondmaaltijd.

We hebben de eerste verjaardag van onze dochter bij Pppl gevierd en het was een groot succes! Superservice, goede communicatie, heel relaxed. De gasten en de jarige job hebben genoten. Met een spelletjeskast en speeltuin recht voor de deur was dit ideaal. Dikke aanrader dus voor een (verjaardags)borrel!

We zijn er met zn 2 en gaan lunchen rond 1330. Rustige zaak, ziet er gezellig uit. Beide een Broodje Bal besteld. We hebben hier ong 25 min op zitten wachten. Bij navraag reageert de serveerster kribbig en gaat de keuken in om binnen een paar minuten 2 borden te brengen met een wit zacht maisbroodje met een paar blaadjes veldsla en een gehaktbal, verder zonder garnering. De gehaktbal smaakte verder prima maar was op geen enkele manier 8 euro waard. Geen aanrader.

Erg leuke zaak waar ik geregeld kom, even werken met je laptop kan, drankje doen kan en eten is gewoon goed en lekker! Niets aan toe te voegen.

Prima plek voor koffie of een borrel op fijne locatie. De menukaart en het eten is er helaas op achteruit gegaan. De keuze is beperkter dan voorheen en de kwaliteit is ook niet meer al te best. Volgende keer weer alleen een borrel of koffie.
