Brasserie Nel in Grachtengordel-Zuid

Croquette is fine, service ok, no sugar with the coffee, heating too low, strange dressing for the cup garnish (anno 1998). Chef sneezes several times without sneezing into his elbow, and does not wash his hands afterwards. Soup is in an au bain Marie, it is almost 2025, not 1998, not good man. Restaurant Kort, and later Janvier were both top restaurants, now it is a kind of old beach bar with too little excitement dishes.

Centrally located on the Prinsengracht. We arrived at 7:11 pm, But there was no dinner available, despite the advertising panels outside. Out of necessity, we only ordered a snack and crudités. Free taps of water. Good and fast service. Large well-kept terrace. Atmospheric for generally young people.

Nice place for a group. Kids can play at the nearby playground. Drinks and food are ok. However, they have a different menu for both sides of the brasserie.

We ordered 2 mojitos. They brought them after 25 minutes despite the fact that there were not many clients at the bar. The drinks were poorly made, they had no alcohol at all, no sugar, just water with limes. We informed them the waiter about this, and he didn’t have the decency to apologise. He just brought us the bill.

It's in a nice closed off street, very relaxing, watching out over the canal and the service was great. The food was amazing, which is always true for a small menu.

Highly recommend Brasserie Nel! My partner and I had a lovely dinner, which was priced exceptionally. I had the bavette, and my partner had mussels, which were on special. His mussels came out in their own crock; easily 80-100 of them, and the market price was less than my steak! In the US that amount would have easily been $50, and here it only cost about half that! Everything else was great, and service was attentive. The patio was also nice, the atmosphere felt very tranquil despite being in the city.

Very nice place on the Amstelveld next to and in a historic church. The location of the terrace is fantastic. There are vegetarian and vegan options, which is great! There is room for improvement in the quality of the food and service, but all in all it is a very nice place for a drink, especially.

This one is about the K-day party yesterday! It was great how the door policy was arranged this time, which made it easy to manage and without chaos on the site itself. But... those 40 minute queues (!) for the toilets are really unacceptable, that has to be better guys... more toilets, just like at Pride, everything always goes well there! Brasserie Nel is a nice spot with excellent chaps, plenty of different beers and lagers, but I thought the staff really made it a top location. Fast, friendly, spontaneous and real catering tigers. If you fill a shot glass with cola so that the pregnant woman at the table does not feel left out when a round of Salmari is ordered, then you know what you're doing!

Beautiful brasserie located on the edge of the canal, remote so not too touristy, with a small and varied menu. The bitterballen, cheese fingers and shrimp croquettes are particularly good. 😊

Real charming location with a nice terrasse and brasserie style inside with a eating area. Food is really good for the price considering the area and well executed. The monkfish and smoked cabbage dish is a definite highlight, flavour rich and soft fish. The vongole spaghetti is a simpler dish but again really well executed, tasty with lots of clams. Wine list is short but balanced - cheaper offerings are your standard staples but slightly upscale has good examples. Try the gruner veltliner from Ramspeck & Kracher a great example of its kind

Vandaag wilden een drankje drinken bij Nel met onze kinderen, maar de bediening aan de deur was zo slecht! Niet alleen werden we meerdere malen niet geholpen terwijl anderen naar hun tafeltje werden begeleid, maar moesten we ook nog eens een paar keer om het menu vragen. Echter, het toppunt was toen er door degene aan de deur aan een vaste klant verteld werd hoe vervelend sommige klanten waren om om een tafeltje te vragen. Dat ging ook over ons, en was natuurlijk erg onprofessioneel! Hier zal ik niet meer naartoe gaan!

Bediening was perfect, eten was goed, wel wat minuscule frites. Ik zou wat groter formaat serveren bij lekkere mosselen. Porties op kaasplank zijn wat klein maar fijn. Allez de locatie is geweldig !

Great local brasserie and location, especially outside for sunny days! I found the starter menu more creative and inspiring during most recent visit. Mains were standard. Tasty and good presentation. Dutch shrimp was excellent, main fish was slightly over cooked and the sauce was too creamy for my taste. Wine list is good.
