I went to Vascobelo to have a few drinks and eat a good Italian focaccia with my girlfriend, compliments both for the kind service!! and I would like to compliment the guy who works in the kitchen for the balance of the ingredients on the focaccia!! Grazie 🙏

Sitting at the terrace facing the square with sunshine is very enjoyable. Food and drinks are fine and the service could be more friendly could be even perfect.

been almost 5 times. This time was extremely poor experience. Have asked the young Dutch lady m whether or not we sit indoor - right side. Her reaction just look like we did something wrong for her. We order menu - just because we did not catch her message, her attitude showed voicing up at my sister. Such a bad attitude of the Dutch young lady. she needs to be trained properly how to do service before she is on site. They changed menu - tastless . Enough for the last visit.

Outrageously expensive! I went today with 2 friends for lunch at Vascobelo. I order the Beetroot & smoked salmon sandwich. What a disappointment: for 14,50 EUR, you get a small slice of bread, a bit of smoked salmon and red beet in the middle of an empty plate!!! Once back home, I eat again since I was starving. Never again, I'll go to Vascobelo Following my review above, the manager asked me to contact her by email which I did immediately. However, I never received an answer…

very cute place had lunch over there and although the menu is not very long, the food that was served was tasty enough. Staff was super friendly. Rapid and fast. Great spot, lots of tables and a big terrace to enjoy the sun. Also quite cheap compare to amsterdam prices.

A classic Dutch style cafe-restaurant. The food is not bad but the variety is quite limited. The service is weak but you can have a pleasant breakfast.

The staff is too busy so you don't get served well, the food is tasty, the location is a stop.

I haven't been to Vascobello for a while, but today I thought I'd go again. I have always had good experiences before. But the service was bad. It was busy so I understand that everything takes a little longer, but the host walking around looked very grumpy, did not make eye contact, and walked around with a slow, nonchalant attitude. A host who was doing the dishes was smiling and the host behind the coffee machine was busy. It really took us so long to go. We were then warmly welcomed at the neighbors, even though it was busy there and everything took a little longer than normal. Such a difference that communication and kindness makes. Such a shame, hopefully it will be different next time.

The soup of the (Mushroom) is very tasty. I really recommend it. They have amazing taste of coffee as well

Delicious, cozy coffee shop, with good juices! The beetroot juice was especially delicious. I also opted for 12 hours, top choice for lunch!

Great lunch, not much in quantity but tasty. Staff walks around a bit disinterested. That you hear; "How nice to have you here!" seems to be becoming an exception, unfortunately.

Great service! Our group of 10 was hosted for a birthday brunch, and the staff was very accommodating. The food was delicious, though I only give 5 stars for experiences that are truly out of this world—which are rare. That said, there’s always room for improvement. The prices are typical for Amsterdam, so while they may seem expensive to some, they’re in line with what you’d expect here. The atmosphere was nice, and the location is perfect. Overall, a solid experience!

I recently had an early lunch at Vascobelo and had a wonderful experience! I ordered the Vascobelo burger with bacon and cheese. The burger was juicy and flavorful, topped generously with crispy bacon and melted cheese. The thick-cut fries were fresh and perfectly crispy, served alongside ketchup and mayonnaise that complemented the meal beautifully. To wash it all down, I enjoyed a refreshing Coke, which rounded off my satisfying meal perfectly. The ambiance of the restaurant is another highlight. The interior decoration is unique and inviting, featuring cozy leather armchairs and charming bookshelves that create a relaxing atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend a few hours enjoying good food and great company. I highly recommend visiting Vascobelo if you’re in the neighborhood. It’s a great spot for a delicious meal in a comfortable setting! I’ll definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

They are not pet friendly. The staff asked me to run my dog ​​from the place where she was sitting “because that part was only for people and not for dogs.” I went to work, when I asked for the Wi-Fi password they automatically asked me if I was going to eat something, as if insinuating that they didn't trust whether I was going to consume something or not. The food is not good, for example, I ordered scrambled eggs and it was the worst I've ever tried. The bread without toasting or even heating.

Very strange service. Just tried to order an egg benedict, which is supposed to be a signature dish. The waitress replied “we can’t make a poached egg today because the chef is very busy and has no time to do it”. Incredible!

Discrimination or total lack of rational behavior. The nice lady asked for what we want to order only to realize 25 minutes later she did not input the order in the system. 6 years ago the experience was way better, but I cannot recommend it anymore.

The coffee here is really delicious! Top place to work/study. The food is just what you would expect from basic breakfast/lunch fare. Not everyone's service is the same, hence the 4-star review. The girl with glasses and red hair was certainly very attentive.

Strong bitter coffee and very well decorated place to have a coffee and a lunch. Coffee wasn’t the cheapest and a tiny cup. I love the way the staff are dressed. Nice location, seems to be where the locals like to go also.

Lovely street cafe, with a library feel inside. Their signature Burger was just ok, the bacon was burnt. The tomatoes/hummus was tasty.

I have decided I will never come to this place again. Truly disappointing to be honest. Last year I would come here and the service was always amazing. The service used to be wonderful and the people that worked here love their work. Now I went in, it was practically empty yet I still had to wait 20 minutes for one coffee because "they lost my ticket". Meanwhile the young lady who was working out on the behind the bar was aggressively cleaning everything and forcing guests to move to the other side of the building (that is really messed up, if you are sat somewhere with a coffee in hand you do not tell guests to move to another table while the restaurant is open) and i even heard her raise her voice to one of the employees because of dishes not being put away properly. What a truly sad experience for what was once one of my favorite coffee places to a place i will tell my friends to avoid. For my feedback, you say you close at 16:00, then let me stay in my seat until that time. Don't raise your voice to your staff no matter what, any problems you have should be talked in private and not around your guests (I don't want to hear that while relaxing with a coffee in hand, plus it just makes the whole experience worse for everyone). Clean after closing, not during and if this is an issue with the restaurant that comes afterwards don't make that the issue of your guests but the issue of that restaurant. Needless to say, very sad and disappointment in how this company is moving on. The coffee is at least still tasty but i guess that's the least you can do at that point (especially when it costs €4,00 for a cappuccino)

Came in on Tuesday afternoon 3pm to have a coffee and work a bit on my laptop and was asked to move into a crammed half of the restaurant because they close in an hour and they already cleaned the tables on the empty half of the restaurant. What the hell? Shouldn't you start cleaning after the offical closure hours? Left without ordering anything as it doesn't make sense to me. Apparently they have enough of money to close half of the restaurant before the official working hours. Not recommend.

I drink coffee here occasionally. For me, food is on the pricey or luxurious side... it is a place with style, a bit French too. A real daytime café. My negative points are that there are sometimes few newspapers, and that the café restaurant falls into silence after five and then closes... so that choosing another place well in advance turns out to be a better option...

30 minutes of sitting and not getting a single person’s attention for order is unacceptable. Even walked to the counter and asked someone to come and no one came for another 10 minutes before we decided to leave. Giving a 2 star simply because we’ve been regulars here for 2 years now and had no issue before. No longer going to be our go-to place for Saturday brunch anymore.

Nice and cosy cafe close to Olympic Stadium. Very nice herbal tees that came in pots (2+ cups each) good selection of croissants and cookies. Pleasant to see they are still alive and kicking after 6 years, highly recommended for a drink stopover or breakfast. El desayuno en el restaurante Vascobelo Amsterdam fue una delicia absoluta. Desde el primer sorbo de su exquisito café hasta el último bocado de sus deliciosos croissants, la experiencia fue inigualable. El ambiente elegante y acogedor añadió un toque especial a la mañana. Además, su amplia selección de opciones en el menú nos permitió probar auténticas delicias vascas. Sin duda, una experiencia gastronómica que no olvidaremos y que recomendamos a cualquiera que visite Amsterdam en busca de un desayuno memorable.

Broodje mozzarella met avocado besteld en een glas wijn. Zoals op de foto te zien was de avocado ver te zoeken. Ik heb geteld: 4 schijfjes dunner dan komkommer. Zware teleurstelling... het is een momentopname, dat mieten we altijd in ogenschouw nemen, maar ik was niet blij.

Great place for breakfast, brunch, or even a light lunch (Dutch style: sandwiches, kroketten, etc). Service is always a bit hit and miss, but that’s Amsterdam. Food is excellent and every dish is well served, I often make the mistake of ordering more than I can eat. It’s usually easy to get a table, which is a major plus.

Had a lovely lunch here, the croque monsieur and classic chicken sandwich were great! One of the best cappuccinos that I’ve tried in Amsterdam too. Super nice laid back vibe and friendly staff.

I have been to this place a few times. It has a nice terrace for the summer and inside it has a good atmosphere for working. Service is quite good and friendly. The options for breakfast are good and for lunch they have some sandwiches and used to have a good Belgian stew (not in the menu anymore unfortunately) Overall, good place to have breakfast (not that much lunch)

Twee keer geweest. Beide keren hadden ze meer niet dan wel van de kaart… Zo waren 8 van de 10 cocktails op de kaart op. Vervolgens 4x (lang) moeten wachten en opnieuw bestellen, dan weer wachten. Een Aperol kon met wel platte witte wijn geserveerd worden. Verder kreeg ik koffie met de verkeerde melk, een verkeerd broodje en een verkeerd gebakken ei. Prima eten en drinken, maar qua service en mogelijkheden slecht.

Looking for a dinner spot near our hotel and happened on this spot. We were pleased. Staff were friendly, helping us with Dutch words. We ordered grilled chicken served on apple compote, and their house burger, and a small side salad. Both dishes were served with sweet potato fries. I would recommend.
