Quite a small tent and therefore an obstacle course to get to your table. The atmosphere is nice but the chairs are rotten. The food was fast and good; tasty tomato soup and good hamburger. Nice staff, but clearing took a long time.

The food was really delicious, the tournedos and entrecote were delicious and, despite the crowds, it was served surprisingly quickly. Unfortunately, the service was not quite what I expected. It was a bit impersonal and sometimes difficult to get the attention of the staff. Despite that, the overall experience was positive and I would definitely come back for the tasty food :)

The sandwich was tasty in the winter paradise, but you have to be willing to do something for it. Only 4 people in front of us, 1 of whom walked away very angry because there was something wrong with the food. Waited more than half an hour. A blonde lady was very smooth. We were happy that she joined us. Two other customers waiting for their food had forgotten them and then even skipped them again. The service did not win the beauty prize.

I have been coming to Brasserie van Dam for years, both as a regular customer who sometimes makes a reservation and as someone who spontaneously drops in. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service here. But last Saturday I had a particularly unpleasant experience that, quite frankly, left me disappointed. Upon arrival we were turned away in an incredibly rude manner by a male employee. Understandably it can be busy and there may not be room, but the tone and the way we were treated were really below par. It felt like we were not taken seriously and were unwanted, instead of valued guests. This was not necessary at all, a little respect and kindness would have been appropriate. Unlike here, we were welcomed with open arms and friendly service at Brasserie Margaux, despite the fact that it was also busy there. The difference in service is clearly noticeable. It's a shame it has to turn out this way. Maybe I'll try again in the future, but for now my confidence is pretty shaken.

Qué hermoso restaurante cuando pasas por delante. Encantadora zona de patio en la parte delantera con grandes ventanales para contemplar el interior. Es una lástima que el resto de los servicios de este establecimiento no coincidan con el aspecto del restaurante. Camareros muy arrogantes en la puerta principal. Es como si fueras un inconveniente para ellos sentarte. Un movimiento de la mano y se le dice que se siente en cualquier lugar que desee dentro. Nada de acompañarte a una mesa. Sacando una silla. No. El servicio interior era igualmente pobre. Cuatro camareros y parecían más interesados en hablar entre ellos o aparecer ocupados caminando por las mesas sin reconocerte cuando obviamente estás listo para ordenar. Este lugar está lleno de personas pretenciosas que obviamente aman el lugar por la experiencia de simplemente traer lo visto allí. Aunque dicho esto se encuentra en una zona muy agradable y acomodada. Así que tal vez sean solo los que viven cerca. No pueden decidir si la comida es europea, francesa, holandesa, italiana y se muestra en el menú. Muy caro por la calidad y en particular el tamaño de las porciones. Evita pedir algo italiano ya que el chef no puede cocinar espaguetis. Eso siempre es una preocupación. Pero cuando estoy en Amsterdam, ¿qué hago pidiendo comida italiana? A menos que solo vengas a tomar una copa y un aperitivo, hay muchos mejores restaurantes en Amsterdam. ¿Tal vez no en Vondelpark?

What a cozy brasserie. Centrally located in the most beautiful part of Amsterdam. We had a great lunch again!

I visited the cafe earlier today and stayed there for 20 min and the staff were very rude seeing us and not bringing menus or asking us what would we like to have. Meanwhile when a Dutch couple walked in they immediately asked them where do they want to sit and walked them to a table If your restaurant is serving only “certain” ppl then be bold and say it out loud. Very disrespectful service, and disgusting behavior.

Naar jaarlijkse traditie gaan we hier tijdens ons weekend lunchen. Hier geniet je van een leuke sfeer in een hippe buurt, steeds zeer vriendelijke bediening en prijs/kwaliteit correcte prijzen. Een aanrader, maar wel best reserveren!

We had made a reservation but saw a spot available outside. That was no problem at all. Under a heat lamp in the sun and blankets were even handed out! Top service. Everyone was so friendly and a delicious lunch!

Favorite lunch spot in Amsterdam. Staff really sees you, they are fast and friendly. And they have all kinds of sandwiches on the lunch menu here for €10 +/-, which was a very positive surprise. You can sit on the terrace comfortably, there are heaters and it is a very pleasant street. Recommended.

You don't have to go here for the atmosphere or ambiance. Once you have ordered, the food is on the table 30 seconds later (with or without a hair in it). It's fine, but not great.

We had a very nice dinner at Brasserie Van Dam. The ambience is very cozy and the flowers add a nice colorful touch on the tables. The lights create a cozy ambience ideal for a relaxed meal. The menu has a nice variety of dishes and flavors and the portions are in a good balance with the price. The food is well cooked and presented. The people who served us were very attentive and kind.

Van Dam Brasserie offers a pleasant dining experience with a good selection of dishes. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere inviting. While most of our meal was enjoyable, the peanut butter was a major disappointment. It lacked flavor and moisture, which was surprising given the high quality of the rest of the food. Despite this hiccup, Van Dam is still worth a visit.

Place discovered by chance near our hotel while we were looking for where to eat. Wine bar type restaurant, with a cozy atmosphere, and a great musical program. All the dishes ordered were delicious. We also had cocktails, very well measured. Great evening.

Nice atmosphere, neat and clean. The young man who came to take our order was a bit grumpy, but luckily this changed. Our sandwiches were really well filled and the taste was delicious. The cappuccino was also delicious and so was the fresh orange juice.

Walks in, rude staff! Don't even ask if you can wait for a table or whatever. We thought we would have some lunch. Because we have only heard good stories. This is already the 3rd time this has happened. That's why I'm writing the review now. Do something about it. Give us each an option whether I can wait yes or no.

Last week we had dinner here with a group for a birthday. Upon entering we were nicely received and greeted friendly. Because we were there for a birthday, the staff asked if we wanted to surprise the birthday boy or girl with fireworks and music. Of course we couldn't deprive the birthday boy of this fun action and the birthday boy was indeed very surprised! 😁 After placing the order, the food was served very quickly. Because we were quite hungry, that was not an issue. From the various dishes we ordered, there was no one to complain about. In fact, we all had a delicious meal and it tasted great. There is nothing to complain about the food, even though it was served quickly. The staff were friendly and attentive, up for a joke and very helpful. It is a nice place and recommended if you want uncomplicated and simply delicious food in Amsterdam South. Finally, thanks again to the staff who provided the birthday boy or girl with a fun and enjoyable evening without any worries. He simply enjoyed it, as did the other table!

Cozy brasserie to sit and have a drink, but the food selection is not much special. We tried the Philly cheese steak and truffle ravioli. Was fine but not a standout.

Very cozy place in the popular area Amsterdam Oud Zuid. Good wines, very good service and food and overall one of my favorite places to go for lunch. You need to go there to grasp the vibe. Unique place not overwhelmed by tourist but people who are living in Amsterdam. A place where you want to be seen, and you also see a lot of High class people and nice cars passing by.

Great atmosphere whether you’re there for brunch or dinner. Sunday brunch is a must do. An incredible experience with a selection of food you won’t get anywhere else. Dinner is always festive. Only small issue is the service doesn’t always match the vibe. Staff can be a bit slow and demotivated at times.
