Brasserie RCN de Roggeberg in Appelscha

All three of us really enjoyed our meal. The fries were well-fried, the meat was of good quality, and the staff was very friendly.

We had barely entered before we were immediately pressured into ordering 3 bread boards for €8 each... The menu states that the dish comes with potatoes, but there are literally only 2.

Had a delicious meal and super good, friendly service! Plus, a beautiful and cozy place with a nice terrace.

Great brasserie, small menu, good food

The food here is terrible....ordered 3 dishes and it was absolutely rubbish. Dried-out bread with the hamburger....fries are hard and soaked in grease. And the bruschetta is soggy and we left most of it untouched. The bruschetta was eventually taken off the bill.

Cozy restaurant and friendly staff

Unexpectedly found a lovely restaurant here in Appelscha. Comfortable chairs, relaxing music, a lovely conservatory, and good, tasty food. Very friendly service.

Everything was excellent. Considering that it's a campsite or holiday village, the quality of the food is really good. The service was really good, and the salad, schnitzel, steak, and salmon were all delicious.

I've been a guest at this campsite for years. There's a restaurant attached to the campsite, which is definitely worth a visit. I chose the steak with pepper sauce. The steak was fine, but the sauce was a bit bland. As an extra, I had fries and a salad. Both were a good portion. Although I missed some dressing on the salad. In short: you can have a great meal here.

We had lunch here again and unlike many competitors in the area, the menu is more innovative and modern here and in my personal opinion tastier. If you are looking for an old-fashioned schnitzel or meatball, go elsewhere. Here it is tasty and special and there is a lot of choice, also for vegetarians. I think they get too little credit for the brasserie, they really do their best to put something tasty on the table that is also beautifully presented. This was in 2024: We had lunch here, they change the menu frequently and it was all tasty. 2022: We had a great meal here, honest dishes not too expensive.

Food was good, you think contact is good too. The waiter is often joking with you, so nice contact! You tip 10%, the waiter can't count so he doesn't know what 10% is. You calculate it around and pay up, but you say we will still get 1 shot from you (3 people). The waiter says yes, fine with a big smile. Then the waiter comes to your table with a smile and a glass hidden behind your back and you get a shot, the waiter says you still have to pay for this later with a big smile, so you think that is a joke, but you are expected to pay for the 3 shots, otherwise it is theft.

Food was cold. Price expensive. Was not cleaned up.

We had a wonderful meal at the Brasserie again! They know how to fry a schnitzel (that was a letdown elsewhere in Appelscha) and the caprese citrus salad is wonderfully fresh! Asked for some crispy fried fries and we got them! For the host and hostesses, a big 10 for their attentiveness, the speed of serving with a happy face! Next time we are at the Roggeberg, you will see us again, because you contribute to the feeling of being at home and being pampered!

We went to eat in the brasserie. What a terrible disappointment. The fat came out of the fries. Salad turns out to be a raw vegetable that you can give to the pigs. And then the staff. Those old people at the counter talking about guests and colleagues. They made a lot of noise. We could follow everything. Then you have some spring onion on your meat, the end was still attached. Never eat there again. Now I have a terrible stomach ache.

Dinner at the brasserie, what a disappointment. Schnitsel was soggy and tasted like fries. Fries filled with grease, old fries and a dried out salad. Steak was okay, pepper sauce ruined it, way too salty. Had to wait a long time for drinks. We won't come here again, a waste of money. It looks like a lot in the photo, but that's more show than go.

Ridiculously bad food for this price. 1 chicken satay stick made from pressed chicken waste with a wilted piece of lettuce for 17.50. Service seemed to be people with a distance to the labor market. Fish & Chips from hake fillet was also rancid. Either adjust prices or ensure better quality.

Had dinner today on a busy Wednesday in the summer and everything was perfect. The food came quickly and was very tasty. Children can play on the trampoline or in a large playground nearby.

It was very busy so you know it might take a little longer. In the end we had to wait 1.5 hours for our starter and it only came after we had inquired about it. We then waited another 1 hour for the main course and this also only came after we had inquired about it. So it was a long sit. Also, no one ever came by to inquire whether it tasted good or whether we had any wishes. No one ever came for drinks, luckily there was a QR code so we could order online. Tables around us were packed and staff walked in empty-handed. There were even guests who at one point started clearing tables themselves. When we finished eating everything remained on the table and no one bothered us. I suspect if we had left they wouldn't have noticed. At checkout we were asked if everything was satisfactory. When we indicated that it had been disappointing, the only comment was: too bad. No questions were asked about what had gone wrong. So all in all a waste of money and evening.

It was very quiet. Too bad, because the food and service are not the fault. The dog was allowed to come along and there was even water ready for him. Recommended if you are in the area and have worked up an appetite after a long walk in the woods.

Sometimes the wait is a little longer, but the friendliness of the team makes up for a lot. The food is above expectations. Quiet in the winter period, I think the atmosphere is better in the summer.

Great beer on tap! In my opinion, price-quality is a bit out of balance, too expensive for what you get. Expect snack bar quality and you will be satisfied (apart from the price), expect a restaurant with quality to match and prepare yourself for disappointment. After all, it is not called a "brasserie" and not a restaurant for nothing. Tables are a bit small and during the meal the service did not clear up the empty glasses and bottles properly, so the table was very full during the meal. The staff is friendly but not very skilled in recognizing opportunities, which means that you regularly have to raise your hand even though you have already had your glass empty for a while.

Despite understaffing, the responsiveness of the staff was reasonable to fast...the dishes on the lunch menu are very diverse and I can say that the Fish and Chips and the Flatbread with chicken thigh are VERY tasty!!

If you're hungry, it's really just a snack. Unfortunately it closes at 8 p.m

We had to wait a long time before we were helped. When we finally had our drinks and wanted another round of hangovers, we had to wave them over. Unfortunately, the staff is not standing outside to see if there are guests who want to order something.

Tonight, June 24, 2023, we had dinner with two people at the restaurant at the holiday park. Although we liked the holiday park very much, we have made the decision not to eat at the restaurant again. While the food is of sufficient quality, we were very disappointed with the service. Normally we refrain from writing a review, as it is very understandable that employees can make mistakes and have to learn, but this experience was reason for us to write a review. This is in the hope that lessons can be learned and that we do not get the feeling that the complaint was treated seriously in the first place. It was clearly visible to us that several new employees had to be trained. This was visible in the errors that were made in the orders at our tables and the tables around us and the tables that were reserved because the pace could not be kept up. More than half of the orders were delivered incorrectly around us and the focus was mainly on one of the standing tables where a lot of drinks were consumed. This is not a problem, but what we did find bad was that there was no person ultimately responsible. We discovered this when we were told that no one was available to explain our situation initially. It can therefore be concluded that there was no management of a group of young and inexperienced employees. What went wrong? Here we only discuss what went wrong with us. At first everything went well. We received drinks and a breadboard. This came together quite quickly. It then took more than an hour and a quarter, from arrival, until the main course was served. This after we had to ask ourselves whether our order had gone through correctly, which turned out to be the case. We noticed that people around us, with more people, the same dishes and who arrived more than half an hour later, were served the main course more than twenty minutes earlier. In addition, it was noticeable that while other tables of four people received three bowls of fries, we were not served these. When serving we immediately asked if this was still available and if this would be arranged, but we then had to ask again after ten minutes. After the main course had been finished for more than ten minutes, the plates were brought back and we still did not have the side dish. Apparently forgotten or served elsewhere, which was no surprise given the previous mistakes made with serving to other tables. After an hour and a half, from arrival and half an hour after serving the main course, the side dish was finally served. Fries, which were unseasoned or salted and limp. Obviously far too late and in our opinion also unnecessary. What was the explanation? We were told it was busy and the kitchen couldn't handle the capacity. This was not a good reason for us. The restaurant makes sure to reserve a table in advance and it was not full inside. In addition, a restaurant may assume that many people will come to eat on a Saturday in the summer months, when the holiday park is also fully booked. If they cannot handle this, they should stop the reservations. The second explanation was the inexperience of the staff. This is somewhat understandable, but there was no real guidance from a manager or adult, as previously reported. How is it resolved? In our opinion, extremely mediocre. An apology was offered and a round of drinks was not charged. The waitress indicated that she also thought this was quite poor, but that she was no longer allowed to do so. At that time we also did not want to make a fuss towards very young employees in the presence of others, whereby the blame lies with management.

You can sit here on the terrace and keep an eye on your kids at the same time.

We were the only guests, two staff members cleaned. We were helped immediately, in a friendly and cordial manner. Nice coffee, the apple pie was tasty but a bit too cold. This is THE place to use something during or after the walk.

Nice restaurant. Not a very large menu, but that's not necessary (it's actually nicer with a woman who can't choose). There is something for everyone: meat, fish, vegetarian and a children's menu for the children. No pizza, which is a shame because there is a pizzeria in the same park that makes delicious pizzas. It would be nice if you could also order it in the brasserie. The beers from Maallust are highly recommended!

Enjoyed the lemon lime pie with apple-elderberry juice here on this warm day. There is a terrace covered with tent canvas and the service is extremely friendly. The campsite behind this is great for children.

Were here in the preseason as we were visitors to the park. Leffe 0.25 €4.50 . Food at best middle class and not enough for the price. Recommended for a drink, we definitely wouldn't eat here again. Price performance is not right.

Just had dinner inside (conservatory), unfortunately had to wait a long time to receive the drinks. Afterwards the food was included, but it was quite difficult to get fries with the lunch platter instead of a sandwich, but this was arranged afterwards after insisting on this. Furthermore, the food was fair to good. However, we did not think the sauce with the Serrano ham sandwich was a good addition to the sandwich, perhaps a different sauce/dressing would be slightly less sweet. Unfortunately, you also have to get extra drinks in between. Conclusion: food is fine, wait staff friendly but seem inexperienced.

Come to the brasserie for a pizza. You have to go to the other side. Not that big of a problem. When you get there, ready-made pizzas are pushed into the oven... we left. At the snack bar. Ordered fries war with a frikandel special and a bear bite. The fries turned out to be the salt. The frikandel special almost cold. And the peanut snack is one thing from the chip shop. Which doesn't taste good at all. We are sent from pillar to post... worthless.

We went there with a family of four and had lunch before walking in the forest. We had fish and chips and chicken satay, both were tasty and the servings were very generous. After walking, we had ice cream, also very good most especially in a nice 25C weather. We really enjoyed it and the staffs were very friendly and attentive to our needs. It is a nice restaurant to eat at while in the area.

This camping restaurant is goood (yes triple o ). The food is very wel done and they also know how to present it. Desserts are also just yummy. The servings are generous. Good and friendly service too. How about the price you will ask? Well, affordable. Compared with restaurant that have the same well served portions and this quality of food, they are really affordable. Even if you're not making use of the camping facilities. We definitely recommend you to have your lunch or dinner here. Really nice after a walk in the beautiful Forrest of Appelscha or after swimming in the outdoor swimming pool near by. Or .. just because! You will not regret.

We ate here 3 times during our holiday. Three excellent bites for a bargain price. Friendly ladies, who also do something extra for you, for example chasing away a wasp. The food is really very good. Clean, tidy, and are fairly fast. Even when busy.

The dish served was undercooked. A new one was made but by then the others were already finished. No excuses. No drink.

Just had a drink on the terrace

They are playing a nice restaurant, frozen vegetables that are not served warm enough, frozen kibbeling that is still cold on the inside. After the bickering was sent back to the kitchen, they eventually came back hot but muddy. In the end they conveniently forgot about the cold vegetables, and we never heard anything about them again. Furthermore, ice cream wrappers were floating all over the terrace and despite the terrace being heavily thinned out by corona and an empty tent inside, we constantly heard around us that it was very busy and that dishes would take a long time to be served. Finally, the bill was completely incorrect with drinks from other tables and dishes that were charged but were part of the menu. Friendly service and in the end they did their best to correct everything

Food was what you would expect. OK. What can go wrong? Wrong drink, long wait, “fish and chips” without chips, three other dishes also no fries. After complaining, small bowl and extra on order, another wrong drink. Almost finished food and there are the fries. Incorrect bill. Shame.
