Brasserie Zuiderbad in Museumkwartier

I wanted to have lunch near the Rijksmuseum after my tour and found this lovely spot, location was perfect, also really close to Leidseplein. Food was good with very reasonable price. I ordered a club sandwich salmon and the chef adjusted the sauce for me when I said I could not have mayonnaise. Super friendly staffs. Would definitely come back when I have the chance. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking to grab a quick bite for good price near Amsterdam city centre!

Good location, good service (a little slow, but understandable because there was only one girl and the place was almost full), but the food is very average. For the price, it's fine, but I wouldn't go back. The sandwich was chicken, and the worst thing about it was chicken.

The waiter that helped us was so sweet, he was so happy to help us. Food was decent as well as the prices. Would come back for the coffee :)

A good light meal, perfect for replenishing energy before or after visiting the museum. The salmon sandwich was delicious.

Prompt and good service. One of the very few places in major European cities which will actually give you water for free rather than sell you some obscenely expensive bottle of water. I had the chicken Satay with the peanut sauce and fries. The fries were crispy golden. The Satay was decent if not spectacular.

We were about to head to another popular brunch spot, but I’m glad my friend steer me into going here! It wasn’t packed and busy. When we opened the door, our waiter greeted us right away! He was super friendly, and took our order right away! My sister and friend both ordered a sandwich (chicken club and creamy salmon), and they both really like the sandwiches. Oh the other hand, I ordered Dutch food (kassasoulve, biterballen, frinkendel, and croquette)… sorry for my spelling, and they were really good too! My sister and friend never had these foods before but they really like them! The prices were cheaper and definitely worth the value! I would definitely recommend this hidden gem place! Lunch for 3 was approximately €45, and we were all full at the end.

A New Dimension of Rudeness Food arrived that we hadn't ordered, and we politely pointed this out to the young waitress. She dismissed us with great determination, saying that we had ordered exactly what she had brought. And she did so in a tone that made us, a group of older adults, seem like schoolchildren. To make matters worse, she threw the remaining food in a high arc onto the table. We've eaten at all kinds of restaurants thousands of times in our lives, but this was a subterranean experience!

The food was semi-good (it's hard to go wrong with fries), but if you order something else, it's a 50/50 chance of getting the right thing or not. That wasn't the case with us. We were served the wrong food, so we pointed this out to the young lady, but she replied rudely that it was the right thing. Then the rest of our order came and the really disrespectful waitress simply "threw" the food on the table. We confronted her, to which she also replied rudely. Making mistakes is fine, but unfortunately they can't take responsibility for them and react rudely and unfriendly to customers. I don't recommend this shop, and I hope the service improves in the future.

Exceptional service and just a minute walk away from the museum. It was pretty busy when we went (around 13:30), but we got seated promptly which was great. The food was incredible and the personnel very carefully accommodated our allergy-related request. The food and coffee were great (the chicken club sandwich in particular was superb) and the atmosphere was very cheerful.

This place is recommended by my friend, they have very simple foods but it was delicious , great service and it’s not far from Rijksmuseum.. highly recommend to stop for brunch or lunch .

I come here regularly and these people understand how you can make good money with normal menu prices (that's why it's always very busy here). The owner is always very hospitable and friendly! What a difference from the rest of Amsterdam's eateries! Here you get more than value for your money. Highly recommended!

The actual menu prices are about €2 more than what is listed on google. They messed up my order and brought me a more expensive sandwich than the one I ordered. I didn’t realize and took a bite, and then after they told me it was the wrong sandwich and they were going to charge me for more than what I ordered. When I went to pay, they tried to charge me for three sandwiches and got very argumentative when I explained what had happened. Not a bad restaurant but very frustrating experience for me personally. Do not recommend.

We are Spanish and we have been here while visiting the museum. We found the service to be very good and fast. The food was excellent and fairly priced. If we return to Holland, we would come here.

Disappointed with my dish (chicken skewers): frozen fries, thick and flavorless sauce, dry chicken. The fried bites (last photo) were very average and really small for €8.5. On the other hand, the club sandwich and the Caesar salad were pretty good.

A cozy place with good and cheap food. The truth is that for Spaniards who find it difficult to adapt to eating early, it is a good option. There are portions and you can share and try the local food. We will repeat.

Place of 10. There are no photos because we had little faith when we saw it, but everything was great. We recommend the gyozas, the Bitterballen (very Dutch), kipcorn and the homemade spring rolls. The fries are good but not special. The owners put a lot of love into the place and it shows. We were very comfortable.

We found this place after the Van Gogh Museum. Very nice customer service and great food. Atmosphere was amazing, Paninis and club sandwiches were good. We order some side of French fries and they were crispy and tasty. Cafe Latte and Chai Latte were delicious.

After visiting the Van Gogh Museum, I searched for a nearby restaurant and happened to stop by. Reasonable prices, friendly service, and most of all, the food was delicious. It was my first time trying Bitterballen, and the crispy surface and moist, creamy interior were very delicious. Recommended.

Very nice light lunch, convenient location.

I had time until my reservation time for the Rijks, so I went in. It was cheap and came quickly. The taste is Normally I think it was 7.5 with ham & cheese and Heineken.

Nos habíamos agotado en el Rijksmuseum y estaba lloviendo. Este pequeño restaurante informal de gestión familiar era exactamente lo que necesitábamos. Está muy cerca, y un paseo fácil. La comida era de muy alta calidad y el personal de camarero era agradable y servicial. El precio era muy razonable. Cuando pides papas fritas, obtienes un tazón grande. Tienen las mejores patatas fritas que tuvimos todo el viaje de vacaciones. Gran lugar para el almuerzo.

Close to Museumplein, the food of this place is bitterballen and toast, which are good in terms of price and performance. The employees are courteous and helpful.

Muy mal servicio. Fuimos allí por algo de comida con la familia y 2 niños pequeños, estaban inestables, así que tuvimos que irnos antes de ordenar. El personal fue muy grosero desde el principio y no nos hizo sentir bienvenidos en absoluto. Al final tuvimos que irnos, pedirles disculpas pero el tipo era horrible y empezó a usar insultos raciales abusivos. Terrible servicio creando un ambiente horrible. No se recomienda.

Very bad customer service. The guy was horrible, was very rude when asking him about menu and seemed like he did not want us to sit there. We had 2 children with pram and the they did not want to sit so had to leave without ordering. The guy was very rude and started swearing with racial slurs. Did not even try the food but the atmosphere created and the staff was horrible. Never to return again. 0 stars if we could give.

Total lack of respect for Pakistani tourists and Hindu rasist restaurant Having not ordered for personal reasons, we had to leave the premises, the manager asked us to leave and said in front of everyone, stupid Indian people, no respect, I do not recommend this brasserie, in which, there is no respect towards see tourists Just shame on this brasserie

Une petite brasserie sympathique à deux pas des musées mais qui permet de sortir de l’agitation de ce quartier et de manger à l’abri en cas de pluie ;-) il y a du choix à la carte, nos ados ont choisi la salade Ceasar et nous le saké plate, c’était délicieux et pas cher !

We received a very friendly greeting on our arrival here. We had sandwiches and coffee and it was very good. The only minor thing is that the food was a little slower to arrive than I expected for a cafe, bit they were very fresh and warm (I had the club sandwich). The prices are very reasonable given its proximity to the Rijkmuseum. I was expecting to pay a premium, but that is definitely the case.

We have had Bittergarnituur, Clubsandwich Chicken and also the salmon one. Everything was very good, and the service was friendly and fast. The place is very pleasant, with large windows and lots of light. Highly recommended!

It’s one of the places with the best value for money in the entire museum area in my opinion. It's simple, good and relatively quick if you don't go off the beaten track. If you are looking for simple, quick and not too expensive food, this is ok.

After the madness of the visit to the Rijksmuseum, with so much noise and so many people, this brasserie is a haven of peace. Five minutes walk from the museum. It is run by an oriental man with very friendly and professional attention. You can have many things in a cafeteria style, typical croquettes or fries, soup of the day, sandwiches,... And for a very reasonable price: €30 for four portions of soup, croquettes, potatoes, salmon sandwich and two beers. We found it by looking on Google maps, it had a very good score, deservedly so, and it was a complete success. Highly recommended.
