Bro lunch & borrel in Wijk 1 Binnenstad

Absolutely delicious food. The only thing I see is the waitstaff searching. We were either asked twice to order or forgotten. In my opinion, the waitstaff lacks oversight; they're all serving the entire restaurant at once. Perhaps they should break up the waitstaff into segments so they don't get mixed up and lose track. I saw several people get the wrong order today, wait for service, and even see the waitstaff standing at the bar, confused, while we were waiting to order. A wonderful, fun, and educational restaurant that has room for improvement, and could shine like few others, because the food is truly outstanding.

After wandering around Deventer all morning, we went looking for a place for a tasty lunch. Although Deventer city center has tons of eateries, nothing really caught our eye. Until we walked past Bro. What a cozy place! As soon as we walked through the door, the atmosphere hit us. The decor, beautiful colors, warm, robust atmosphere, the friendly staff, all busy but certainly not too busy to offer a warm welcome with a smile. We were very curious about the food. Broski, what a delight! My husband ordered the carpaccio and then the Thai salad (he was really hungry ;)), and I opted for brown bread with hummus and vegetables, with the option of feta. Man, oh man, what an incredible experience! So incredibly delicious! So generous with the ingredients! My plate could barely contain the grilled vegetables. The hummus was delicious, the rolls deliciously rustic, and there was even a bowl of watermelon with olives. Vegetable chips, everything was super delicious. My husband, a chef himself and always quite critical, also enjoyed his meal. The salad wasn't too spicy, but it was very flavorful, and again, very generous. The carpaccio was exactly as it should be, well-seasoned with delicious truffle mayo. He had a virgin mojito with it, and that was also truly delicious. We got home-baked cookies with our coffee, still warm. Seriously, could it get any better? The owner turned out to be a very friendly man; we didn't expect anything less, because the atmosphere was so great. Everyone was working happily in a relaxed manner. This man can be incredibly proud of what he's created; everything is perfect. The atmosphere, the decor, the staff, and of course, the food. Sorry for this rant, but to excel like this as a restaurant is simply wonderful! Thanks, Bro, for this super cool experience! Scrolling through the reviews, I read that it's a family business, so the wife and children (or children?) should be just as proud, of course! You guys are doing so well together! Boxing ; )

Great vibes and the food is good, there aren't many vegan options but overall I would recommend it.

The food was a bit disappointing. The fried eggs with bacon weren't cooked properly and weren't spread evenly. The spicy chicken sandwich was very salty. Not what we were hoping for. The atmosphere and service made up for it (a lot).

There aren't really any vegan options for something sweet, and the menu isn't very extensive. There are vegetarian options, though. The chai with oat milk was delicious. The service was okay. It's a pleasant place to sit, but outside there's a risk of birds dropping their poop on you.

"Would you like to sit somewhere else?" Please. And let the world know. I understand that a table can be reserved for a group, especially if it's a long table. But without a reservation sign, that's impossible to see. And: if this request is the first contact after the waitstaff has overlooked me for minutes (which isn't easy with a man of 2.03m) and then immediately helps guests who arrive later, I quickly draw my conclusion: I really want to sit somewhere else.

We had such a wonderful dinner at Bro! We arrived quite late, but they made an exception for us, and we were still able to enjoy a delicious snack. The salad was filling, the mustard soup was thick, the hamburger was delicious, and the drinks were fresh and refreshing! The team: fantastic and friendly! What a lovely way to end a special weekend with friends!

There was a large book market in Deventer, and we decided to grab some lunch. We found a busy restaurant with a beautiful garden at the back, a truly lovely atmosphere. We ordered a nice drink. But when we ordered lunch, we had to wait a full hour and 20 minutes. We were given a free drink as compensation. Finally, we got our food. I ordered an oyster mushroom burger, but it was very unpleasant. What a shame about the long wait!

Perfect! On a busy day like the book market, you can choose from the entire menu. From sandwiches and flambées to salads. It might have taken a little longer, but the service was friendly. Well-filled sandwiches and good service. Highly recommended for lunch.

Wij hadden zussendag en hebben heerlijk geluncht bij Bro!! We werden eerst verrast met een kopje Thaise soep echt verrukkelijk!!!! 1 nadeel daardoor konden we ons broodje en flammkuchen niet helemaal op:) , maar ik had het niet willen missen. Personeel was heel erg aardig. Hele fijne, gezellige sfeer.

What a treat! While catching up with family, we enjoyed a delicious wine and a very extensive, tasty appetizer platter. And all of this was served by very friendly staff. My compliments!

Service, how refreshing that a young lady says that she has not yet mastered the images on the coffee, then serves us a delicious toasted sandwich and asks how the TOSTI tasted when we pick it up? Food and coffee delicious! Atmosphere super cozy! Highly recommended.

What a delicious sandwich! Spicy chicken and brie are recommended. Richly filled, exactly what you want during lunch. And that for a great price. I will definitely come back here.

A nice café a little away from Deventer's large market square. The ambience inside and outside invites you to linger. There is a play area for children inside. We didn't eat, but what we saw looked good. Here we go again

Ordered drinks. Finally, after half an hour we got drinks, I thought it still had to be made. Order the food right away, the service is more expensive due to crowds, everything takes a little longer, but the food is ready in no time. After half an hour, the neighbors next to us already received food while we had ordered earlier. Asked again Took a very long time, others did get the food. I'm a whiner and always looking for things that can be improved. Found nothing here. Never seen a place where so much attention is paid to food. Everything here is made in-house, I heard. From the cookie to the dessert. The owner and his wife are very friendly.

Mis Bro niet! Net binnen gekomen voor ee. Flammkuchen (salami) en een cocktail. Wij vroegen de eigenaar naar een Alabama Slammer die (nog) niet op de kaart staat. Hij ging de ingrediënten halen en voor mij staat een top cocktail. Super! Een Bro die met je meedenkt. Lekker eten, borrelen en relaxen. Ik ben benieuwd wat jij als lezer van Bro vindt.

Orphaned for lunch on Friday afternoon. Nice tent, nicely decorated and quite full. It took quite a while before someone came to take our orders and then deliver them. Unfortunately, the oyster mushroom burger was somewhat tasteless and not warmed up properly, and it also lacked any sauce. The service seemed to be very busy, so we were not asked in between if we were missing something or if we wanted to order something. It is a very nice decorated lunchroom but not a special experience.

We were able to sit outside near the old walls and enjoy the sun. A wonderful oasis. The staff is friendly and the lunch, a flammkuchen and a ciabatta, were tasty.

Had lunch on Saturday afternoon with well-filled rolls and an egg roll. It was all very tasty, well taken care of. Staff are friendly and there is a pleasant atmosphere. Prices are also absolutely great! Definitely recommended if you want a nice lunch!

We had a wedding at Bro last year, it was the best experience ever, The food was very nice and delicious, we only booked finger food but everybody was full. We had music and good food. Everything was perfect

The food was absolutely delicious and nicely plated. The staff seemed a little distracted and overworked but I did happen to visit when they were also trying to fulfill a really large catering order so that was probably why. Would definitely come here again if I'm in Deventer again.

Had lovely lunch here. The staff were really friendly and the food was great, plenty of interesting options, also for vegetarians. The place is also spacious, with a lovely summer garden, so you always stay comfortable no matter how busy it is. A new favourite!

We came here on a very busy Saturday afternoon. We were helped very friendly and our order arrived quite quickly. It is simply well organized and pleasant here.

We went here with family for coffee and cake. Picnic tables with shade cloth were set up for us in the courtyard 👍. Because I have diabetes, I had called in advance and asked if a gluten-free, sugar-free pastry/cake/treat could be made for me. That was not standard, but the chef wanted to do it for me and it was taken care of very well! In the photo you see 1 muffin, but there were 3 😁. Didn't get them all and the waitress offered to have it wrapped. The muffins were a little too sweet for my taste, but that's personal. My recommendation: Put a gluten-free, sugar-free muffin on the menu!

Surprise in Deventer: the terrace in the backyard! But that's not all: the charming and attentive waitress (made it clear that she enjoys working at Bro), the tuna salad: excellent, and to top it all off, the OYSTER MUSHROOM BURGER. I'm not a vegetarian, but this BURGER beats every other burger in terms of taste and presentation!! The small bowl with salad garnish: a picture. Would love to come back. Hoort spreads the word.

Young people work there (normally nothing wrong with that), no one keeps an overview, so people just walk away. They work neatly with gloves when preparing sandwiches, they should also think about this for a delicacy with coffee (grabbing a pastry with bare hands) Friendly staff and nice tent, see it as constructive criticism.

De tuin achter het restaurant is een mooi klein pareltje! Heerlijk gezeten met z’n viertjes. De Deventer mosterdsoep was heerlijk, de aspergesoep en de salade ook. De kinderen hadden een pannenkoek. Erg vriendelijk personeel. Zeker een aanrader als je op zoek bent naar een leuk plekje voor de lunch.

Had drinks with a large group yesterday. What a very nice place with a beautiful courtyard. The staff is friendly and attentive and they have very nice drinks and a delicious snack board. Definitely recommended!

It took fifteen minutes before we got our drinks and 40 minutes before lunch arrived, even though it was very quiet. Very simple. I could have made a tastier lunch at home. The bread was dry. The cheddar tastes like cheap supermarket cheese.

The oyster mushroom burger was served on a “beet bun” (which turned out to be a clammy wrap casually folded in half), and was served with a little arugula and some onion chutney. No more. Very unsatisfactory, not filling at all. We missed a sauce, a bit of decoration and a little love for this - not necessarily cheap - dish. The tea was tasty ;)

Unfortunately it is getting too busy. It used to be pleasantly busy, but due to the children's area in the back and the enormous crowds every now and then, it has unfortunately become too noisy for me. Top for you, but there really isn't any shielding or anything like that. Got it, but too much success?

Good food. The staff gets along well with each other but pays too little attention to their guests. Had to wait a long time for the order to be taken, long before it was delivered and long before the bill could be processed. The friendliness is okay, but a little more alert and looking around staff can do wonders. Wasn't a nice first experience.

We had to wait quite a long time. The sandwiches are tasty but on the small side. The tent is very noisy, they could do something with the decoration.

My friend wanted to order beer, but they could no longer deliver most of what was on the beer menu. When he asked what they had, the waitress didn't know. Finally, my friend was able to choose from her tablet. We also ordered nachos; Waited half an hour for it (!) and in the meantime also ordered bitterballen, also waited 20-25 minutes for it and they eventually came out of the air fryer quite dry. Not once did we come to ask if we wanted something to drink. We also gave feedback during our visit, but people responded with surprise to our experience and that was it. I have read several bad reviews about the mediocre service and unfortunately we agree with them. Also quite affordable. 7 euros for a small bowl of nachos with barely any garnish.

Eten: broodjes en flammkuchen prima. De laatste behoorlijk overprijsd. Als je binnen komt lopen lijkt t heel wat, als je eenmaal zit en een beetje rondkijkt is het eigenlijk best sfeerloos en rommelig. Bediening: loopt er te weinig, lastig om wat te bestellen en afrekenen. Al met al niet slecht ofzo, maar ik zou er met de ruime keuze in Deventer niet snel meer naar toe gaan.

Lekker thee en mocktail gedronken op een middag. Gebakje erbij en spelletje gespeeld (er liggen spelletjes om te pakken).

Mooie sfeervolle plek met leuk personeel. Buiten is er een prachtig terras met delen van een oude stadsmuur. Zeer geschikt om te lunchen.

Vanmiddag een lekker soepje gegeten en daar erg van genoten! Het was megadruk maar we hebben met verwondering zitten kijken hoe het team van Bro op elkaar ingespeeld is en keihard werkt om het iedereen naar de zin te maken! Heel veel respect!

We hebben een ticket gekocht via sociaal deal. Waren aardige personelen. En koffie en browni waren heel leeker. İk ga zeker nog een keer.

De tonijn op mijn salade had beter gekund .Bediening moet nog veel leren.Het nagerecht was minimaal.
