Best cappuccino I've ever had and nice people

November 2025 SAKA as new coffee. Italian style and delicious, my new favourite May 2025 Although it remains the same, which is the charm you need to pop in in the mornings during the week to mingle with the locals. Bruno started with filter coffee a must try. Own blend of coffee, freshly grinded in the spot. December 2024 Nothing changed, still the same quality, the same Bruno. He will switch before the new year (2025) to new machines so watch opening hours these last weeks of the year. September 2023 He keeps improving. Started to roast his own blend of beans. Still a lot of different 'flavours' to choose from. Update 5/2/2022 Bruno keeps improving. Changed his espresso and it's quite a kick but nice tones and round espresso it has become ... Still the best espresso in town. One of the few stores they serve a good espresso like it should be served (to my humble opinion). They have a 'forte' and it really is, italian style espresso. Loved it. This small store of Bruno is a must ro visit. The espresso machine will be the first thing you'll see ....

If you're looking for strong, well-prepared coffee, this is the place to go. It has a traditional atmosphere and is well-known among locals. The owner was there and made our coffee; he was very respectful and classy. The place is small, with only one long table against the wall and some high chairs. You can drink quickly and leave.

Maybe the best coffee in town? Reasonable prices, quality service and local.

This is real quality coffee, Italian roast, great atmosphere, and local baristas. Bruno, best in town.

Bruno’s Amsterdam was a happy surprise — I found it while wandering around the canals, just when I was craving a coffee. On Google Maps I noticed it had a 4.9 rating, so of course I had to check it out. One sip and I was blown away. Even though I ordered a latte, the espresso’s bold flavors really stood out. It had a strong, full-bodied bitterness with notes of chocolate, nuts, and caramel, all balanced by silky, velvety foam. Absolutely delicious! Bruno’s Amsterdam feels understated — not a trendy, modern café, and not often mentioned in recommendations. But it has that cozy, local vibe that fits Amsterdam perfectly. Seating is limited, and they offer a few simple pastries, so it’s more of a grab-and-go spot than a place for a long afternoon tea.

Best Italian coffee in the entire city — probably even in all of the Netherlands. A lovely spot to start your day in peace. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly, and the coffee is nothing short of exceptional. Leave your phone in your pocket and savour the moment — this place is best enjoyed unplugged.

Cafe Bruno offers a great cup of coffee to go! It is a petite coffee spot located near the Noordermarkt area. The interior is chic and staffed by a single barista. I love the vibes of the expresso bar. It’s a great alternative if you need a good cup of coffee or the nearby cafes are overcrowded.

Fantastic espresso drinks made by Bruno! We had a macchiato and a cappuccino, and both very extremely smooth. We wish our hotel was closer so that we could have a coffee here daily!

Every coffee lover can agree that Bruno’s hits the spot. I was only in amsterdam five days, I couldn’t stay away and came here three times. Tried both the dark and medium roast, a flat white, latte, and a cortado. Each drink was strong, smooth, and most importantly served at the perfect temperature to drink. Bruno’s does not disappoint!

We were at Saint-Jean Bakery but it was way too busy and no where to sit and enjoy coffee so on Google Maps saw that Bruno's was a nice place for coffee. This ended up being one of the better decisions we made that day. Really simple Espresso bar, a few spots inside to drink your beverage and some outside as well. The Espresso was one of the best and seeing the care they take with their beans and machinery, they do it extremely well. The employee also talked a bit, friendly guy and seemed to be popular with the regulars. Amazing place and I would go back and I would like to buy coffee beans from this place too.

Very nice strong (dark roasted) cofffe. My favorite is cappuccino with oat milk. Here you can buy coffee beans imported from Italy. Place is only for take away and if you are lucky you can get a bench seat in front of the place. Place is open only from 7:30-14pm.. on Saturday is pretty packed since people are going for an open market .. I like a vibe of the street. I will come again, thank you !

Bruno’s bar is in a league of its own. In a city (or world) where cafes are redoing the same ol menu of coffees, lattes, and a signature spin on a baked good; Bruno’s is simple and to the point. Espressos is the main show and it’s a banger (they can do lattes or cappuccinos too!). Internationally sourced beans to choose from, classic espresso machines from Napoli, and strong caffeine kick to wake your senses up. and to top this all, Bruno is just a nice guy! Deffo stop by here for a unique experience during your next jordaan cafe hopping expeditions.

A great little place in the northern Jordaan neighborhood- most customers are locals, who go regularly and know the owner Bruno. Bruno sources his beans from all over the world. Tell him what you like and ask him for a recommendation.

Even if this is subjective, It’s literally THE best espresso bar in Amsterdam. No overpriced TikTok pastries. Just outstanding beans, roasts, paired with great espresso machine. We come since 8 years, the dark roast is our favorite.

Had a coffee and a hot chocolate with my friend there the other day; the employee was really kind and helped us out very professionally. They explained all the coffee options and alternatives to us and immediately offered us plant milk and milk-free hot chocolate when we mentioned we were vegan. It was quite tight in there but it was still comfortable, there were power outlets by the seats and a toilet we could use for free.

Bruno gets his top score for good reason - Google self generated tag "gems" must refer to the coffees served here. Not quite a place to sit, but you come here for a cuppa and an informed chat on the subject. Bruno also organizes courses on coffee.

If you are a coffee enthusiast or just want to enjoy a quick and amazing cup of coffee, this is the place for you. A lovely small hidden gem. We recently moved to an apartment nearby and can already tell we will be frequent visitors.

What can I say. The best espresso bar of Amsterdam, in my opinion. Bruno does coffee, and he does it with passion. You can tell that he takes it seriously, by the way he talks, by the way he explains and by the way he prepares your coffee. If you love coffee and you like it to be done with care and love, then go to Brunos. Bring some time, this is not a shop to grab a quick coffee that is prepared efficiently like in a big chain, and its perfect that way. Love to see someone with this kind of passion.
