Nice place, but we had more self-service with a few appetizers served by a very friendly lady.

Beautiful location for a wedding, highly recommended. Various spots outside, but also a cozy atmosphere inside.

All you can eat, but with style and class, attractively varied, and high-quality food.

Missed opportunity.... we just went inside at 5:30 PM. There were 3 ladies sitting on the terrace; we think they were staff, but no one else to be seen, not even a sign on the buffet. No one to be seen in the kitchen either. Too bad, we cycled to the center where we were warmly welcomed.

Ended up at De Warrel by invitation. An arrow to the left points to a party for someone celebrating their 50th birthday, but we head right. That party explains the full parking lot. We had a great time sitting on the terrace, the staff was very friendly, and the buffet was the exact opposite of an all-you-can-eat gluttony factory. Prepared and presented with care. Plenty of choice and room for special dietary requirements. Next time, I’ll invite myself. There is also a piano by the bar. Für Elise is allowed, but only in A minor.

We recently visited here with family to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! It was, in one word, amazing! The food was delicious, the atmosphere excellent, and the staff very friendly. For us, it was an unforgettable day! Thank you so much for that! We will definitely be back again!

Here is an ode from an occasionally chaotic wedding DJ to a beautiful, atmospheric party venue and everyone who worked there on Saturday, July 11, 2026. This exceptionally capable team did everything in their power inside (and almost outside) to assist me with my setup struggles, thereby granting the bridal couple and their guests a magnificent party and a wonderful end to the day. From a complete rearrangement of the space, to providing microphones and pens, and above all, the wonderful brainstorming and making it seem as if it was all a piece of cake. Know that I appreciate that and you immensely. As for the food: I only occasionally sampled the delicious appetizers being passed around, but this makes me dare to assert with near certainty that everything from this kitchen is prepared excellently and tastes divine! And finally, a short but sincere tribute to the exceptional occasional landlord Ramon: before I could let the thought turn into a wish in my head, I already had the intended drink in my hand, and also not entirely unimportant for a bartender: he is an incredibly sociable, cheerful, and reasonable guy! Thanks everyone! I hope to return, whether as a DJ or as a guest. Keep up the great work!

Wedding party, stunning garden. Mega small dance floor and the music was barely audible and wasn't allowed to be louder. That was a real party killer.

Super friendly floor manager. Good meat prepared by a friendly chef. Nice seating areas outside. And nice to be able to book your own bar package.

The website states "Live cooking," but this is absolutely not the case. The food was mediocre and limited, and some dishes were not refilled. Very strange for the price you pay.

I have been coming here every now and then for years, and it remains top-notch every time. Delicious food in a super cozy setting. Absolutely not a typical “standard buffet restaurant” like you often see at buffet restaurants. The quality of the food is really high, and the steak is fantastically tender. Compliments to the chef — you can taste the passion and quality in the dishes. Always a pleasant evening here.

We had a wonderful party at De Warrel last night. We lived in Westerbork for a while and definitely knew De Warrel by name, and we happened to visit because of the party. I can see why they've been around for so long: easy free parking, a great buffet, good drinks (and even Coca-Cola), and the staff and chefs were super friendly. The atmosphere was warm (nice by the gas wood stove), and the decor was beautiful and inviting. Yes, a top location if you're planning to host or attend a party here :-)

The cold buffet and desserts were good, with plenty of choices. The hot meat selection could be a bit more extensive. Good quality, but limited choice.

We recently celebrated a company party with the ADG Group at Restaurant De Warrel, and it was, in a word, fantastic. From the first contact to the very last moment, everything was perfectly taken care of. The organization ran smoothly, and the team exuded professionalism, hospitality, and flexibility. The venue is beautiful and perfectly suited for a company party: atmospheric, spacious, and with a warm atmosphere. But the absolute highlight was the cuisine. Every dish was of exceptional quality, delicately presented, and bursting with flavor. It's clear that the food here is cooked with passion and craftsmanship. Our guests were unanimously enthusiastic and are still talking about the evening. De Warrel is undoubtedly recommended for anyone looking for a top-notch venue with excellent cuisine and perfect service. We would love to come back!

We had a wonderful meal with a group of nine. The buffet was extensive and delicious. We had a lovely evening.

The buffet felt different from your typical large-scale all-you-can-eat buffet. You start with a cold buffet with plenty of choices. Then the hot buffet becomes available while the cold buffet is replenished. The food is delicious, although the hot buffet selection is limited. The building has a cozy feel. Unfortunately, I felt like the drinks were closed too early for our company outing. Hence, 4 stars.

It was very busy this evening with two large groups in separate rooms. This included the sound system. Nevertheless, the service was friendly and welcoming. The buffet was ample and good. Highly recommended.

We wanted to eat out with the kids and saw De Warrel getting good reviews, so we took the plunge. We weren't disappointed at all! What a wide selection they have at the buffet! And the quality is truly excellent! Soup, salads, cold cuts, cheeses, soup, meat, fish, vegetables, fries, pancakes, desserts: it was all there, and everything was excellent. We'd never seen such a wide selection before. Fantastic! Definitely recommended.

After visiting numerous venues, De Warrel ticked all our boxes, and the choice was quickly made. We celebrated our wedding here on September 6, 2025. We had a wonderful day, thanks in part to De Warrel! It's a charming, versatile venue with incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and the food is delicious. Our guests wanted for nothing, and we received many compliments about the venue. Contact with the owner, Joop, was also very pleasant. He was involved from start to finish, and nothing was too much trouble for him; everything is open to discussion! This made us feel very welcome. We had a fantastic wedding day at De Warrel! Everything was incredibly well organized. We had excellent communication beforehand to discuss our wishes. Everything was also perfectly arranged on the day itself. The location is beautiful, and the food and drinks were delicious. Thank you for a wonderful day!

We had a reservation from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. By 7:30 PM, the salad bar, fish buffet, and other items were already being cleared away. When I asked at 7:30 PM if there was any steak left, I was told the grill was already off. The ice cream machine was also broken. We mentioned this, but ended up paying full price for four people.

We received a friendly welcome upon arrival. We hadn't been here before, so everything was clearly explained. The food was excellent, deliciously seasoned. The atmosphere was cozy, not a fancy "food shack" like most all-you-can-eat restaurants. We definitely recommend De Warrel and will definitely be back in the future!

Sit comfortably and enjoy a delicious meal

Flop. Had booked to celebrate my wedding anniversary with my husband and my parents. We were assigned a table in a room with a group, or rather: in the middle of a group. We were seriously enclosed by the group and the group literally looked away from us. Further on a wedding was being celebrated with a lot of noise. We could not understand each other and it was impossible to have a conversation with each other. Waste of money and disappointed that I was not able to celebrate my wedding day.

This evening we enjoyed a very good buffet with a group. There was a lot of choice and it all looked very good until the end. Good meat, clearly indicated for people on a diet, lots of choice and quality products from start to finish. Highly recommend it and a big compliment to the people who work there.

The atmosphere was great, the service was superb. The BBQ was fantastic. A very flexible chef prepared the meat with passion.

Had dinner here tonight with 15 people, both the hot and cold side and the dessert were well presented and tasty. Welcoming and helpful service. I thought it was highly recommended.

The food is very tasty, buffet is more for quality than quantity

Had a very bad Christmas buffet tonight. This was the first but also last time we come here. What a mockery and that for 45 euros excluding drinks. Cold starters were reasonable but the hot dishes were nothing. You can expect something for 45 euros per person. Little choice. Small bowls with small spoons, small forks. Small bowl of fries for a long line of people waiting..... No live cooking. Finally, the whipped cream machine with the ice cream did not work either, it had been forgotten to fill. No, not for us again. Too bad and that before Christmas.

Went here for dinner yesterday. In one word great!! Super friendly staff. A nice atmosphere, delicious food. Enough variety. The children have also been thought of. And your table is kept neat. Thank you for the nice evening. We enjoyed it and definitely recommend it.

For a buffet restaurant this is at the top in terms of quality! Lots of choice, vegetarians can also enjoy themselves here. No, there is no live cooking, but by keeping the portions in the bowls small, it is constantly refreshed! Very smooth and friendly service, both with drinks offered and with clearing away. We have been there several times and it has always been an excellent evening. The food is fantastic and the selection is unbeatable! The decor and ambience, just beautiful and the service is great. Absolutely recommended!

Friday evening, July 16. We stand for nature, tranquility and the Borkerheide estate. What a lot of noise all evening. The pounding music spoils the atmosphere at the campsite and many people complain about music nuisance. The party cheers can be heard here. Even in the caravan when we are lying in bed, the pounding of the music is clearly audible. We are here for peace, quiet and relaxation. But this is hard to find because of this tacky disco with their speakers that span more than 400 meters as the crow flies!! That can be called extreme and downright antisocial! And we don't have to eat at such an antisocial place. We initially planned to do this. It's a shame that these people only think about themselves and don't take the environment into account. Worthless! For other holes we think the putt and pitch are also a mess. So we don't have to go there.

I thought the food was very mediocre, the tapas section was okay but the hot food consisted of 4 types of vegetables. 4 types of meat. Fries and fried earth. The price/class ratio is high, there was no atmosphere, no music, no candles and the furniture was rough and not sanded clean in the spring, in short I would not stay again

We got married at De Warrel on May 17, 2024. During the preparation of the wedding we could always send Joop a message to discuss something. A lot is possible! It is also a great location to work with for other suppliers (cake, photo booth, DJ). On the day itself, Joop and his colleagues ensured that the day ran smoothly. The private bar in the afternoon and the buffet in the evening were very popular! Gluten or lactose intolerance was carefully taken into account. In the evening we had a great party in the conservatory. There was also the option to sit outside on the (heated) terrace. In short: it is a beautiful wedding location, highly recommended!

On April 20 we celebrated our wedding at the Warrel, a beautiful location. The preparations for the wedding went very pleasant and smoothly due to the excellent cooperation with owner Joop. On the day itself, the staff made sure that everything went well and relaxed, just the way we wanted it. The location is surrounded by nature, which made our outdoor ceremony beautiful. We have received many compliments from family and friends about the location, service, hospitality and the delicious dinner. We definitely recommend the Warrel!

We were here for Easter lunch. Although the food was tasty, I didn't like the atmosphere itself. I'm not really a fan of buffet either. The homemade salads were very tasty. Also a lot for children.

My first visit to this restaurant in Westerbork. Quite a pleasant place, especially for large groups as food is served buffet style, all you can eat for a reasonable price ($30-$40 per person. Great ambiance, really nice and professional service, and a lot of different food from which to choose. There is a salad bar, soup bar, fresh bread with multiple things to put on it, an assortment of sauces for your food choices, hot foods/casseroles, veggies galore, selection of cheeses, cold cuts, tapas bar, pizza corner, snack foods that are especially appealing to children, ice cream bar, dessert bar......I may even have left out some food stations! It was nice to see a variety of table sizes, too. Our table sat 12, but there are also smaller options. Seating is also offered outside on the veranda and is equipped with large, optional umbrella coverings that can be opened to shield you from rain or a too warm sun. Plentiful parking on site with easy access to restaurant. Wheelchair friendly. The only negative I would give is that the bathrooms could have been cleaner/neater, but they weren't too bad. Overall, it was a very pleasant and even fun meal with good good.

Good food, but unfortunately you freeze to death in the toilet

Wij hebben met 13 personen op tweede kerstdag bij De Warrel gegeten. Kerst is voor de meeste restaurants toch "massa is kassa". De parkeerplaats was vol en we waren genoodzaakt in het gras/modder te parkeren. Wij zaten aan een soort stamtafel met stoelen met z'n ronde armleuning die je ook in het cafe ziet. In een restaurant vind ik dit soort stoelen minder geschikt/passend. Het buffet was verdeeld in een warm en koud gedeelte. Het warme gedeelte vond ik aan de summiere kant en de schaaltjes waren nogal eens leeg. De warme gerechten waren erg lekker en smaakvol. De spareribs waren mals en erg lekker. In het koude deel was het eten ook lekker en smaakvol. Daar liep het allemaal wat beter door in tegenstelling tot het warme deel. De keus in de koude vleeshoek viel wat tegen, daar miste ik bijv een rosbief of een wrap met vlees. Al met al was het eten ook daar lekker en smaakvol. De bediening was vriendelijk. Het restaurant oogt gezellig en ziet er verder netjes uit. De toiletten lieten en wat ander beeld zien. Daar had een keer extra de dweil doorheen gemogen op avonden zoals deze. Ook hoorde ik dat er op het damestoilet een deurklink los zat. Voor de kinderen is er een uitgebreide speelhoek Conclusie: Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten. Zelf zou ik er zeker nog eens heen willen, maar dan wel wanneer het wat rustiger is.

We hebben met een gezelschap van 50 personen ons huwelijksfeest gevierd. Alles was top geregeld, het buffet was zeer compleet en uitstekend verzorgd, met heel veel keuze. Zowel warm als koud was prima. Ook voor de kinderen was er genoeg keuze. Onze gasten waren zeer tevreden, het leverde voor de Warrel zelf een nieuwe boeking op. Kortom, dikke prima!

Jammer van het eten veel te zout en te kruidig ook melding van gemaakt bij personeel,krijg je als antwoord ja wij koken kruidig Maar wat er inzit kan je er niet uithalen Verder erg rommelig en veel kids die overal aanzaten stukjes ervan af beten en weer terug legden Daar komt bij buiten slecht parkeren en donker, met het vele natte weer loop je nat gras of plassen hoorden veel mensen daarover klagen verder het buffet waren de warme gerechten vaak lauw en wienig in de bakken Was voor ons een teleurstelling, en komt bij dat het personeel vroeg hoe het gesmaakt had en wij daarop antwoorden het een beetje laconiek wordt afgedaan ps en als je op de site wat wil zetten dan keuren zij dat eerst, als het niet in hun straatje past wordt het niet geplaatst dan maar hier Erg jammer dat het zo moet veel suc6 verder

Prima restaurant voor een familie etentje. Keuze uit (vega) gerechten was oké, maar niet heel verrassend. Service was goed (bijna té, want mijn bord werd een aantal keer ongevraagd mee teruggenomen naar de keuken zonder dat ik het had (uit)gebruikt. Tip: minder zout door het eten verwerken! Top: mooie locatie en vriendelijk personeel.

We hebben hier shortgolf gespeeld. Hoewel het spel erg leuk was, was her kwaliteit van het gras op de baan erg onder de maat.

Geen oordeel over het restaurant maar wel over de prachtige fair die er achter werd gehouden

Prima al you can eat restaurant. Vindt het alleen erg jammer dat er weinig keuze is uit warme gerechten vergeleken andere al you can eat restaurants. Maar voor de rest dikke prima!

Mooie locatie om lekker te eten. Ook handig voor grote groepen / bedrijfsuitjes.

Helaas is het voor ons niet mogelijk om een waardering te geven voor het eten. Ten tijde van ons bezoek was er een fair gaande op het terrein achter de Warrel. Aansluitend op de fair wilden wij een lunch nuttigen. Er kwam echter niemand naar ons toe om ons te voorzien van een menukaart. Wel liep er personeel rond met besteld eten waarvan zij niet wisten wie de bestelling had gedaan. We kregen de indruk dat het personeel de regie een beetje kwijt was. Gelukkig konden we verderop in Westerbork, bij restaurant De Ar wel lunchen.

Echt heel lekker en smaakvol! Niet het grootste buffetrestaurant waar ik ooit geweest ben maar zeker wel de lekkerste! Aanrader!

Prima zaak. Lekker gegeten. Er staan geen grote hoeveelheden eten klaar, maar het wordt steeds vers aangevuld. De kok is makkelijk aan spreekbaar. Drankjes komen over de prijs voor het eten heen en zijn best prijzig.

Alles was lekker. De eigenaar(en) hebben een bijzondere manier van humor maar werd door ons gewaardeerd.

Heerlijk en eerlijk restaurant. Veel verschillende gerechten waarbij men ook naar het seizoen kijkt. Vier sterren omdat de service haperde. Niet qua vriendelijkheid maar qua bestellen drinken.

Wij hebben onze bruiloft gevierd bij de Warrel. Er werd geluisterd naar onze wensen, we kregen de vrije hand in het inrichten van de locatie en op de dag zelf hebben we zorgeloos kunnen genieten. Absoluut een aanrader!

Een mooi uitgebreid buffet met voor iedereen wat wils een aanrader

Wij zijn op een vrijdag hier komen eten en het eten is goed en vooral de koude voorgerechten zijn heel goed vertegenwoordigd wel behoorlijk meer vis. De variatie in hoofdgerecht is vrij karig te noemen 15 dingen waarvan 6 groenten zijn en het dan nog voor elkaar te krijgen dat veel schalen (voornamelijk vlees waar toch al weinig keuze in was) leeg zijn vind ik persoonlijk vervelend. Het kinderbuffet een buffet noemen maar knakworst en stukjes frikandel en magnetron poffertjes in 1 schaal gooien vind ik geen buffet. Ik zag wat foto's op de site van pizza voor de kinderen maar helaas die keuze zat er niet bij. Dan de nagrechten sorry maar hier is weinig vers te zoeken alle hapjes uit driepvries gehaald en hygienisch is hier nog wel wat te leren. Stikt van de vliegen die heerlijk huishouden op de zoete hapjes en dan de kraan van de ijsschep stond dicht terwijl dit stromend water hoort te zijn. Wij dachten om de kraan open te zetten wel zo fris maar de eigenaar of leidinggevende die achter ons liep wou hier blijkbaar geld op besparen want we waren nog niet die kamer uit en hij draaide hem alweer dicht. Dat kan maar je creert wel dat je je ijslepel in stilstaand vies water gaat afspoelen en dat i.c.m. met al die vliegen geen prettige ervaring. Kortom door de lege schalen en de nagerechten is de algehele ervaring toch een beetje bitter. Want de ambiance en sfeer en bedieining is top maar de rest overheerst toch het gevoel zoveel mogelijk voor zo min mogelijk....voor ons niet voor herhaling vatbaar.
