Nice people, and a cozy restaurant. Service was good. Unfortunately the food was the worst experience we had in a long time. The steak was supposed to be medium raw but was completely raw, the pasta tasteless. The starters were ok, but nothing special. The tiramisu was ok+. Being a pricey restaurant they should serve better food than this. They did give us a free drink because of the poor food, but in my opinion this does not save a bad food experience.

Buona Terra feels like you are suddenly in Italy. Good food prepared with passion and loving hospitality. In terms of price, it is not too bad for a big city, although with all the delicious wines you can make it as expensive as you want. Once you get used to this, you won't want anything else

We could not have wished for a better venue for our wedding. From the beginning Renato en Gabriela filled us with confidence with their professional approach. They put so much effort into all of the extra personal touches and were open to our wishes. The atmosphere was fantastic, the staff were attentive and a joy to celebrate with. The quality of ingredients and the talent of cooking was spectacular. Our guests are still talking about how delicious Renato's dishes were. We highly recommend this restaurant if you have a special event or for an evening out.

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, and the food is truly superior—great quality, taste, and care from the staff. You always feel welcome. We’ve visited many times, especially when we want to treat ourselves to a wonderful dinner, and we will definitely keep coming back!

I am slightly less enthusiastic than most reviewers, and I agree with Taco Jurian. We had a wonderful long lunch afternoon, that is the most important thing. The (German) boy who served us was great. The girl who succeeded him at the end of the afternoon was unfortunately stiff and stiff. We were allowed to stay for as long as we wanted, which is not always the case with lunches, so that's great! We had a nice meal, but I didn't think it was brilliant. Maybe I shouldn't have chosen all those classics. For example, the meat of the vitello tonnato was delicious, but the thick layer of somewhat thin sauce that was spread all over it did not taste good, it looked like salad dressing and the tuna flavor was hard to find. The few limp arugula leaves on top: don't do it. The bruschettes tasted really good, but they were small and thick slices of bread, which I have never seen at an Italian. This also applies to that other classic, tagliata di manzo. Didn't even remotely resemble the dish that I have eaten countless times (also in Italy). Cut into thick slices and served on mashed potatoes and vegetables with some kind of gravy, instead of thin slices with arugula and Parmesan cheese. But: it was very tasty! The tiramisu was also tasty, but actually far too light. Excluding tip, it came to €90 per person, including two glasses of wine, coffee and some soft drinks and water, which is okay for such an extensive afternoon. That's why we will definitely go back again, but I won't opt ​​for these classics that have been given a kind of cafe look.

This restaurant does an admirable job by turning 'middle of the road' into an art form. The food is 'ok', without being in any way striking, interesting or memorable. But it's definitely not bad either. With Mona Lisa (2x) and many drawings by Leonardo Da Vinci on the wall on the one hand and Vitello Tonnato and Parmigiana di Melanzane on the menu on the other, a niche of obvious clichés about what an average Dutch person expects from Italy is well filled. A positive highlight was the service, with good advice about the wine and opportunities to taste. Price was a bit high for the level of food.

We enjoyed the food quite well, especially the starters were great and in real italian style. The waiters were also nice. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow and we had to wait quite some time between each course. Overall, good experience.

We were greeted by the extremely friendly staff in a very nice atmosphere. But the food was even better. We were very excited and would love to come back!

Why is the rating so high? The outdoor atmosphere is very pleasant, and the service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet my expectations. As a regular hobby cook, I felt I could have made the risotto better myself. It did have truffles, but it was lacking salt or a flavorful vegetable broth. The starters were decent; we had bruschetta and a Caprese salad. Unfortunately, the Caprese salad was ice cold, as if it had come straight from the fridge, which took away from the flavor. The bruschetta was well-prepared, but why all the unnecessary salad leaves on the plate?

Food is good but I’m not sure how they have such a high rating if I consider other Italian restaurants in The Hague. We had one waitress tell us not to rush her and the other wasn’t aware of the ingredients… we had someone in the group with a severe fish allergy For me a rating is a combination of the food, service, atmosphere and things that make it a memorable experience. The food was certainly memorable but not enough to go back

Me and my very pregnant wife came for our “last” trip just the 2 of us, to Den Haag. Choose the restaurant based on close proximity to our hotel (Hilton) and good reviews. Restaurant is nice, with friendly and familiar style staff. Well organized with a small but well executed menu. Starting with 5 starters to share, you have the option of primo and/or secundi, with desert and optionally a cheese platter. We went for primo and secondi. Staff was very good at advising which meals are and are not safe for my wife. She took the risotto followed by seabass, followed by a pannacota. I had the ravioli followed by veal followed by chocolate lava cake and finally an espresso. Every thing tasted and was well executed. Only minor point was that the lava cate was wett, but not liquid on the inside. But the taste with the icecream on top was great. We can highly recommend this place. Total bill including 2 glasses of red wine and a non-alcoholic white wine was 180,- which is the correct price for what you get.

While spending a day shopping in The Hague, we came across Buona Terra, an Italian restaurant on Noordeinde, and it was a fantastic find. The interior is beautifully designed, with a chic and elegant atmosphere that really enhances the dining experience. The staff were warm and welcoming, adding to the pleasant vibe. Although we had a simple lunch, the food was outstanding—beautifully presented and packed with authentic Italian flavors. The prices were very reasonable for the quality, and I can confidently say it's one of the top Italian restaurants I’ve recently been to in the Netherlands. We’re already looking forward to coming back for dinner!

The concept of the restaurants menu is a bit like a tasting menu. You get a starter which consists of four small dishes then the main course and then a dessert- all of which you have a choice of dishes. The starters were all tasty but I was not blown away. As for the main dish I chose the swordfish steak with vegetables and this was amazing. For dessert I ordered the tiramisu- it was also delicious. I loved the atmosphere. I was solo and felt comfortable thanks to the friendly service. I recommend this restaurant.

Great food and awesome atmosphere!

What a fantastic evening we had at Buona Terra. Upon arrival it turned out that my message about my husband's birthday had been received. The table was very subtly decorated, there was a congratulations message on the table and as soon as we were seated, prosecco was served. And all because in the afternoon I sent a small message with this request. Everyone from service to the chef were all aware of his birthday and my husband was congratulated every time. Very attentive. The most important of course was the fantastic food and very personal service. Gabriela and Renato have built a top restaurant in two years. You can tell that it is not their job but their passion. You will notice this in the delicious food, beautiful decor and personal service. We would love to come again soon. Great food and good value for money too. I’m a big fan of the multiple smaller starter dishes so that you get a variety of tastes. The staff however isn’t the friendliest, and therefore had to take a star away. Overall a good experience though.

Superbly eaten, excellent Italian cuisine abroad

We picked to go here based on Google reviews and it definitely rates all the great reviews. I had the pasta with olive oil, garlic and red pepper; my husband had the black truffle risotto. I’m not a fan of black truffle but I really liked it. If you’re touring the downtown area by the palace- this is the place to go for lunch!

The chef turns out to be Italian, and you can taste that in the pasta, which was particularly tasty.

This upscale Italian restaurant is very classy. The two types of bread we were given were very tasty (one was soft and the other was firm and both were buttery). Both of our steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly. The ravioli was in a mouth watering sauce.

The best Italian in The Hague. Everything is good about Buona Terra: the food, the service and the atmosphere. The food is prepared with love by the owner and chef Renato. Together with his wife Gabriëlla and their wonderful team, they provide a culinary experience that is truly worth your while. At Buona Terra you will be pampered and you can have a romantic dinner as well as a great experience with large groups. We have been there with a small group and with a large group (35 people) and both experiences were really good. Do you want an amazing evening? Then I recommend Buona Terra.

Yesterday was my second time at Buona Terra within one month. Fantastic food, delicious wines, great ambience and Gabriella is a wonderful host. The meloncello is the cherry on top! I’m looking forward to coming back soon.

Well I want to start by saying that this is the first time in my life and I am 55 years old and I have been around, The food well!!! I have no words to describe the experience I had!!! it was so delicious… ☺️ I am a sicilian man and Renato the chef he made me feel like I was home.. the interior of the restaurant is out of this world they have combined food with art and music all in one. The service is just so warming with Gabriella and Sergio that makes you feel cared for in a special way and I saw that they treat everybody in the same way with out distinction.. they take time to make sure that you have all you need, you just need to go and experience this magic world … I want to say thank you to you all 🙏

A delicious meal in this excellent restaurant. Here you experience Italy at its best Noordeinde. True Italian passion at its finest! Opted for the 3 course menu with starters, followed by the tenderloin and ending with a tiramisu. I rate the food, wine and staff as well as the cozy interior with 5 stars.

Tried Valentine's Day menu, the starter was very tasty. But the main course was quite little and ultimately not filling at all. Some aspects of the menu were recycled such as chunks of fried eggplant but it tasted like rubber instead of crunchy. The dessert was also a fairly small portion. Ultimately paid 148 euros and not really satisfied. A beautiful, atmospheric restaurant and lovely staff.

It was such an amazing pleasure to eat here. The food was wonderfully delicious, the service very attentive and friendly, the decor makes this a very nice place to eat and the price is right for the quality of everything they offer. The personal treatment from Gabriella as host was great. Hope to return soon.

Had a great meal, had a 3 course menu, with delicious starters. As a main course, the Risotto with truffle was particularly popular. Dessert Panna Cotta also delicious. Good service, so all in all a great experience. A few minor points of criticism, in addition to our menu, we had taken a cheese board as a supplement. This wasn't really special, but it was €17,- and that's really too much for a few small pieces of cheese. We also sat at the front of the store and it was very cold and because we were one of the first, a cold air stream passed us every time new guests came in.

Last year I went on holiday to Italy (Puglia) for the first time. Enjoyed the friendly people, the sun and the delicious fresh food there. Today we had dinner at BT, which brought us back into the holiday spirit. We took the 5 courses and asked if the chef wanted to surprise us with his cooking skills. Enjoyed delicious super fresh dishes. The atmosphere and the very friendly service also contributed to us having another holiday day.

Went to celebrate a birthday and we really enjoyed the ambiance. Excellent variety of starters - eggplant palm was the highlight; fresh mushrooms, amongst a host of other varieties. Pastas and risottos were well prepared. Service was a little slow; but very hospitable and friendly owner who went out of her way to make us feel at home!

Wir haben hier gestern mit Freunden gegessen, da uns da schöne Ambiente von draußen sehr angesprochen hat. Wir wurden von einer netten Dame namens Elisabetta bedient und das Essen war einfach von A bis Z absolut lecker! Die tolle Weinkarte bietet für jeden Geschmack was und so verweilten wir in der gemütlichen Atmosphäre bis in die Abendstunden. Einen Besuch ist es hier absolut wert! Ich denke die Bilder sprechen für sich.

Dineren bij Buona Terra is een ervaring die je niet snel zal vergeten. Elke keer weer weet Renato te verrassen met heerlijke gerechten uit de Italiaanse keuken en weet de bediening er een feestje van te maken! Ik durf te zeggen dat dit het beste Italiaanse restaurant van Den Haag en misschien wel van Nederland is 😍 Een echte aanrader! (Oh, en vergeet zeker niet de heerlijke wijnen en espresso martini te proeven, want ook die mogen er zeker zijn)

Het voelt als thuiskomen. Chef Renato kookt de sterren van de Siciliaanse hemel. Je waant je bijna in de straten van Palermo. Heerlijk eten, blije en vriendelijke bediening en super cocktails & wijnen!!

Echt veruit de beste Italiaan , zeker van Den haag en omstreken . Misschien wel van Nederland. Renato is een topchef , alles was heerlijk . Hele vriendelijke mensen , of dat je bij familie komt . Alles top ! . Sfeer , eten , locatie echt een aanrader als je van topklasse Italiaanse keuken houd .

I hadn't gotten around to posting a review yet, but it's high time! This is one of my favorite new spots in The Hague. The food is fresh and delicious, thanks to the use of high-quality ingredients. The hospitality is amazing, the staff really go above and beyond to make sure your dinner is exceptional. Will be back for sure. :)

Heel vriendelijke hartelijke ontvangst en bediening van het meisje uit Bari. Goede uitleg over de menukaart. Mooi, gezellig interieur. Het voorgerecht was heel uitgebreid en heel lekker, alsook de pasta en de desserts. Als we in Den Haag zijn komen we zeker terug. Arrividerci!

This is like a Bistro with a small menu. I wasn't lucky with my choice, but my wife was. The atmosphere is cozy, service was great, this could have been in Italy.

Echt een heerlijk avondje uit gehad. Personeel was fantastisch, vriendelijk en oprecht en het eten was verrukkelijk. Hoge kwaliteit, maar tegelijkertijd ook ontzettend toegankelijk. Als wij weer eens in de buurt zijn, komen we zeker weer.

Wat een prachtig en warm ingericht restaurant en geweldige hospitality. Alle gerechten van de primi tot en met de limoncello waren heerlijk en dankzij Renato en partner gisteravond echt genoten van ons “remembrance dinner” met z’n allen!

Bij aankomst verrast door een tafeltje (voor 6) buiten, erg gezellig om daar te zitten. Lekker om verschillende voorgerechten te kunnen proberen, en de andere gangen & het vriendelijke personeel stelden ook zeker niet teleur!
