Quite a long time waiting for your food

Deliciosa comida y buen servicio (no es el más amable, después de todo es los Países Bajos). Calma para ir con amigos o familiares para el desayuno, pero no hay nada para que los niños hagan / no hay zona de niños, que es una pena. Estábamos alojados en un hotel cercano y fuimos allí el sábado y domingo para el desayuno ... abre temprano, que es agradable. Deliciosas tortitas, gofres, huevos... si volvemos a Rotterdam, ¡definitivamente volveremos!

Too pricey for what you get 😔, I was very dissappointed with the service and the pancakes just did not taste good, but the bacon was tasty thou. Waiter could have told me about their special, which included the pancakes and eggs at a reasonable price. Instead I ordered those items as two seperate meals (which increased my bill). I will NOT be returning.

Sensational!! The sign on the door says best pancakes in NL, but I would argue best in the world!! The pancakes were so delicious, fabulous service and great atmosphere. The staff were very kind to our daughter and also gave her colouring pages and pencils. Kids pancakes were also fantastic. Very cool diner feel booth chairs, normal tables and counter seating.

Nice place with an outdoor space for the summer. They offer a variety of food and drinks. The staff is friendly . And if I remember correct with the filter coffee they give you the option to refill your cup as much as you want! Totally recommend it!

Waitress didn't register our order so we waited more than 30mins while everyone around us was served (although they came after us). She didn't notice, neither did anyone else at the bar - we had to ask where our food was. This blew up our time at the restaurant needlessly. Kitchen was fast. We sat next to the entrance and kept getting cold air from outside. Pancakes were medium at best, filter coffee had no flavour. Absolutely don't recommend. Thanks for nothing. update to the restaurants answer: You apologized once(!) and the "free coffee" you "granted us" was brown water.

Update 23/11/24: Since the owner is asking for more specific feedback, here is some. by Jarmusch has been a regular go-to spot for me for years since it opened. The American style diner is really missed in central Rotterdam, and the long opening times are very nice. I think I've tried pretty much everything on the menu as it changed over time. That is why it's disappointing to see it steadily go downhill. I hope the feedback below can allow others to continue to enjoy by Jarmusch. A selection of experiences from the latest year: - Pancakes were cooked so poorly that they were bitter. So bitter they were difficult to eat (and I'm not a picky eater). I asked that they be returned to the kitchen and the response from the waitress was disappointing: "I can ask them to make it again but it'll taste the same". They made it again - and it did not taste the same. - We asked which fruit were in a dish with fruit toppings. We were told "various fruit". A good restaurant would check with the kitchen for which fruit are in there - at the very least in case the person asking might have allergies. - We asked if blueberries could be separately put on a pancake dish, instead of other fruit. The answer was no, we don't have blueberries. The "various fruit" above had blueberries. - We stood for 5-10 minutes in an almost empty restaurant to be seated. - When the restaurant was busy, there was a waiting line. A waitress made a mistake in the order of people in line, and had to ask another group to get up after they were seated. A good restaurant would just apologise to the ones who were further ahead. - Constant hygiene issues. We regularly watch staff do various unhygienic things in the kitchen. Example: pouring drinks after touching piercings, facial areas, etc., without washing hands. Friends working in horeca expressed surprise that this was happening to this extent in an open-kitchen diner. - Removing/worsening good menu items. Example: following from above, swapping fresh blueberries for blueberry compote in pancakes, and so removing an iconic dish for an American-diner-style restaurant. The following haven't changed over time but are general thoughts: - There are better ways to serve tea, and better teas as well for this price. - There can be more care to not spill flat whites when they're being delivered.

The new deal of €10 before 10:00 is really great! Small pancakes, a bowl of yogurt with granola, fruit compote and fresh fruit, scrambled eggs and a side of your choice! ❤️

Tried their breakfast bun and waffles with chicken. I liked the waffles a lot, but the taste of the spiced chicken was a bit too much for me. The breakfast bun was good, and the coffee is good. Place looks like an american dinner which is funny

Nicely setup and vibrant eatery in Rotterdam with every possible breakfast and brunch dishes you could think of, and more. Both inside and outside seating. With no reservations taken, I’d suggest to arrive early, or risk waiting in-line out on street. Lovey staff but during peak hours do expect a bit of wait. If you come by car, get ready to pay some serious money for parking in the area here. The Hulk smoothly I found the most powerful drink on the menu.

Omelette and scrambled eggs were very tasty. Pancakes at the next table also looked good. It also has a slightly American diner vibe from the waiters' work clothes.

Amazing experience. The atmosphere takes you to an American dine. The employees are very friendly, welcoming, and warm. I had the lemon meringue on pancakes, which was dreamy. The full Jarmusch breakfast, seen in the photos, is also a fantastic English breakfast. The filter coffee is refillable. The prices seem cheap dependent on the portions, which are huge. We will definitely come back! Thank you. We loved it❤️

I've been here a couple of times now in the last few years. The food is decent but my most recent visit I was disappointed to see they've changed the chicken and waffles -- now they cover it with a weird mayonnaise like sauce that really doesn't go well. The Tabasco provided is mild green Tabasco that you can barely taste -- they used to have proper Tabasco. Can't help but feel they are changing their menu away from that traditional American vibe that they're trying to portray in order to suit a local palate. It's good food for the Netherlands but I'd be pretty annoyed if I got it in the States.

I've had breakfast and lunch here a number of times. The food is reasonable, not high quality. It is always quiet so it is a good place to work or when you want to have a quiet chat. But it is certainly not attractive and often feels cold. Yesterday I wanted to have breakfast with my daughter (6 months old). The waitress only allowed me to choose a table by the window (garden side). While there were only 2 people in the whole place. Anyway, it was difficult to get the stroller between the tables. But once it was up, a spotlight shone right in my daughter's face. I mentioned this and the waitress said "I can't turn them off". This seemed rude to me, but I didn't comment on it. I asked her if I could sit somewhere else where the lights weren't shining into the stroller. This was not allowed by her and no suitable solution was thought about. I thanked her and decided to leave. Not a kind word could be said. I find it really disappointing and inappropriate!

The Diner was really packed when we arrived. We still got a table but it was really filled. At their outdoor tables they have heated seat-pads which my girlfriend finds amazing. Either way the food was good. And the service fast. The waffles were not just tadty but also a great consistency. My girlfriend got the Hangover Omlet and she really enjoyed her dish. She liked the bacon and the eggs, but didn't find the salsa suiting. After seeing the blueberry pancakes I kind of regret not choosing that option instead. Maybe another time. sadly they were out of the new york cheesecake :( We both got orange mimosas, they were not bad, but nothing special to report home about. Good Diner with a classic american experience.

What a relief to get to know such a nice place in the city again. In addition to the nice atmosphere inside, it is really nice to sit outside when the weather is nice. The dishes are nice and varied but above all well proportioned. Yet their greatest asset is the fantastic service. It's been a really long time since you felt so welcome in a catering establishment, where people help you nicely and take the time for you. And all that with a smile and a good dose of humor!

We were there for breakfast and had a full Jarmusch breakfast and an omelet, as well as an iced tea and a lemonade (I found the iced tea a little better than the lemonade). The food had many different components, was very tasty and the service was outstanding. All the staff were very attentive, communicative and created a great atmosphere. Great value for money, gladly again! :)

By Jarmusch hace todo el desayuno del día y lo hacen muy bien. Éramos tres y tuvimos una variedad de comida durante las dos visitas; algunos vegetarianos aquí y se abastecieron bien y tienen una variedad de comida que está hecha para vegetarianos / veganos o pueden adaptar las cosas a sus gustos. La comida era genial y el servicio excelente. Hay un montón de asientos dentro y algunos asientos fuera en la parte trasera del restaurante. No sé si este lugar se pone muy ocupado; fuimos en ambas ocasiones alrededor de las 11 h 00 y logramos sentarnos dentro muy fácilmente. Muy recomendable.

My go-to place in Rotterdam when I want to have lunch with people, after it was recommended by a friend. Good atmosphere, friendly staff who keep checking to see if everything is going well, also nice and American in that regard. And the food is great. Wide choice, I still haven't been able to try everything, but so far I'm very pleased with it.

The BEST breakfast I’ve had in a long time. Went back next day. Recommend it to many friends while still sat there. The pancakes are delicious. Lovely service in general. Can’t wait to go back to Rotterdam for this.

After a long time visiting again for a nice breakfast. It turns out that Jarmusch's birthday is celebrated with free (basic) pancakes. Furthermore, only waffles, and an egg was NOT available for this occasion! So I had pancakes. Was ok. Asked twice for more coffee, but nothing came. So we left. Still spent 21.50 for two people (you had to pay for the toppings). Complaining to the manager resulted in the response: 'We didn't think it would be so busy. Apologies'. The place was not even half full when we left. Someone hasn't got their affairs in order here. This was the last time for me. Staff very friendly. Overpriced. Understaffed.

Geen leuke sfeer: de tent is overduidelijk erg gericht op geld verdienen. Je krijgt bijvoorbeeld geen glaasje kraanwater. Het goedkope ontbijtje krijg je maar tot 10:00. Het kopje koffie dat zogenaamd bijgevuld wordt, wordt niet bijgevuld. Paar keer geprobeerd het leuk te vinden, maar ben er nu wel klaar mee.

Been here twice. I have tried their pancakes w/ lemon curd and bits of merengue. They were really tasty. My friend ordered the signature pancakes w/ bacon and blueberries and she was also very happy with her choice. I have also tried their acai bowl. It was also really tasty (and, more filling than expected).

By Jarmusch was once very good, but lately there have been clear cutbacks and the quality of the food has gone down.

My favourite spot for breakfast

Service and jarmusch are words that are never used in the same sentence unless it also includes "lack of" or "bad". At least the food is good but the whole wait staff need to be trained in their jobs. No reason a bottle of water arrives after the food and not instantly after ordered.

We had visited this branch hearing a lot of reviews however not very happy that we chose this place for our brunch. We were seated quick but not attended by order. Other guests were assisted before us and only when we reminded them we existed did they note our order. We ordered for a cappuccino, cola with a veggie full jarmusch and full jarmusch. Even after requesting for additional items we were ignored only to be noticed by a kind server. I give 3 stars because the taste however seeing the treatment we received doubtful about our recurring visit.

The place looks super nice,but if you are looking for a fast lunch with a nice bite… don’t go there.. after 20 min waiting nobody did even ask me why I’m there…. I’m not sure how this goes on better days…,but this time the food was less than average and the service was extremely poor. Really a pity…

Despite the food being very tasty, the attitude of the staff and the establishment’s policy make you feel really bad. There have been situations that I never took personally before, but now they are seriously frustrating. One day, when I went with my husband, they made us wait for forty minutes. Unable to stand it anymore, I sat at a table (I was sick and the place was empty). As soon as I sat down, a staff member came to our table and said, “You can’t sit here without us showing you a place, please wait by the door,” and made us get up. They walked us to the door and said, “Now I can show you a table.” Then, they took us back to the same table and said, “Now you can sit here.” I don’t know if it’s the establishment’s policy, but I won’t be coming here anymore. When I came with my family, we waited at the door for half an hour, even though we made eye contact with the staff, and no one attended to us. I have never seen such behavior anywhere else. It’s incredibly disappointing...

Super nice and cozy place to have a delicious breakfast/brunch/lunch. We were 4 people (had made reservations) and couldn't really choose, so we ordered various dishes for lunch and shared them with each other. We had the chicken and waffles (2x), the breakfast burrito and the full Jarmusch. Super tasty and varied and beautifully served. Our wishes were also met by, for example, adding the bacon in a separate container. For dessert we had the pancakes twice. One set with strawberries and Nutella and one set with blueberries, butter and maple syrup. This was again finger licking good. Because one person in our party had a birthday, she received a set of pancakes as a gift and the waitress had even put some candles in them. Very attentive.

The pulled chicken and waffles (€12.5) = a combo I didn't think I would love! Also great portion for this price. They served the food super quick too. It has a American diner vibe and unlimited coffee refill (although it might take some time for to get your refill). It can get busy in the afternoon.

Food went from tasting amazing to just mediocre. They changed some things on the menu and not for the better unfortunately. The blueberry pancakes used to be my absolutely favorite here, and were made with fresh blueberries in the batter. Now they are just plain American pancakes with a blueberry compote. It tastes way too concentrated and sweet, it looses the fresh taste of the berries and the juicyness as well. It's such a pity. So I've had to update my review. Also the chicken and waffles, they were good but now come with a ranch dressing... I'm not sure what exactly changed but they dont taste as good. I feel like Jarmusch is typically a place that used to be amazing quality comfort food at first, then they got popular and the taste of tbe food suffered majorly. Too bad

Really chill brunch atmosphere that isn't pretentious, but is clean , comfortable, and relaxed. The staff were speedy, helpful, fun and accommodating. And the food was 10/10 with super reasonable prices. Definitely a must visit in Rotterdam

A staple Rotterdam brunch place. Personally, I love the chicken & waffles but you can’t really pass on the pancakes. Do yourself a favor and do not go here on an empty stomach - portions look reasonable but it’s a lot!

Spontaneously walked in and it was busy, outside very small tables for 2 people and inside very close together, well, it took more than 20 minutes before we had our 2 drinks and more than 45 minutes before we had our 3 meals while there were only 5-6 receipts hanging, There are 4 people in the kitchen and enough in the service, but you don't work efficiently if you always leave with 2-3 drinks per tray, while you can still fit 2-3 orders on your tray. In terms of food it was okay Okay, great sandwich and tasty pancakes, but not really very special, if we are in the area and not in a hurry then we will probably bump in sometime.

Food here is always so amazing!! We go back regularly every month as a treat! Menu is extensive and thought through! However when it is busy the staff are quite unpleasant. I recommend going on a calm morning to experience the best atmosphere. We went on Sunday the 5-05-2024 and it was the first time we walked out due to a waitress who kicked us out of a spot and then refused to help us look for a different table. She said we were using a table for 4 even though the table next to us also seated two people on a table of 4 then placed the menu on a table we weren’t comfortable with and walked off. I followed her inside and asked if we could sit anywhere pointing at a table that was still dirty but empty. When I looked around for a response she said no booth only and walked off. We were very disappointed and went to the other location and had a much better experience. I understand when it’s busy and can be a hard shift for the staff. But this made us want to leave and left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome.

Scandal that they have the audacity to call that a “smash” burger. Tasted like it was microwaved. Bland with a capital B. My friend had an omelette and was totally underwhelmed, maybe their pancakes are good. But I have to laugh at the high reviews. Clearly people who don’t know American diner quality. I have to add, that the owner below responded with what they thought was a “gotcha” moment by noticing that I posted another review shortly before of an actual smash burger restaurant. Let me explaiin….I was earlier in the week in Rotterdam for the day with a friend and we decided to try this American place. I’d never had a smash burger before and heard they were great so I tried it. Fully disappointed. My friend was too with his boring omelette. Didn’t think of leaving a review cause the place and service was on point. Then….later that week back at home in Brussels I thought I’d give this smash burger place I was curious about a try sensing thst what I had in Rotterdam wasn’t authentic. And my suspicion was completely CONFIRMED. It absolutely delicious! By definition a smash burger should be thin and crispy caramelised meat due to pressure from the spatula when cooking. It’s not a question of “taste”, it’s a question of definition. I then felt inspired to write both reviews. And it was true what I said. Smash burger in Brussels was my FIRST smash burger by definition. Not that boiled tasting meat hidden with 2 creamy sauces in Rotterdam. The egg on top was the best part. Amusing that the owner started perusing my review history. Attached below is what the meat should look like in a real smash burger in Brussels . Try it in Brussels if visiting and decide for yourself! Look at the beautiful crispy meat and soft brioche like bun. Heaven in your hands 🤤

Favorite breakfast location in town! I always choose the blueberry pancakes with filter coffee, but I know from my friends that the other dishes are also worth it. Staff work hard and are friendly, I'm already looking forward to my next visit! The wait during the weekend is also worth it ;)

When arriving 10:05 in the morning the continental breakfast was not possible any more. The only serve it till 10AM. Bad service from our point of view. We went to cafe@home 10 doors to the left. Much better!!

What an amazing place! Went there this morning for waffles with pulled chicken, Sea Breeze cocktail (very refreshing of course) and New York cheesecake. Absolutely WOW!!! a reservation is recommended; it was crowded on a Monday morning! Excellent service by a very friendly, enthusiastic young staff. Highly recommended!!

Hangover omelette and refillable cuppa joe wins everytime!! The portion sizes are good and they get their bacon just perfect 🥓 Can get very busy on the weekends but not waiting more and a few minutes. And their back garden terrace is so nice to catch some ☀️

We ordered the bj Smash Burger and the Jarmusch breakfast. my mom didn't even order anything because nothing sounded good to her.for drinks, we got 2 coffies and a lemonade for me.while my mom and dad got there coffies the waitress that haven't smiled one spills it on the floor.the burger was pretty bland.the whole meal was very expensive for two people.

Had the chicken & waffles for brunch and everything was very tasty. The pulled chicken was juicy, tender and worked very well with the waffles - perfectly balanced. My friend had the breakfast bun and the coffee Jarmusch filterbrew and they were also good. Great place for more american style breakfast/brunch. It is better to reserve or come early because it is completely full by lunch time.

Came on a date to Jarmusch and the food was amazing. First time trying the awarded American classic pancakes with bacon, vanilla & orange infused butter (which was amazing!) and the Jack daniels infused maple syrup! Those pancakes are indeed worthy of their prize. The pancakes are delicious by themselves, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the blueberries add yet another texture that is super nice. The combination of pancakes, butter and syrup is a match made in heaven. It is the first time I try pancakes on their own and they don’t taste dry. And we also tried the pulled chicken waffles! Also amazing taste and the pulled chicken was so soft. The portions are very big so guarantee you will be full after your meal but I suppose even if someone isn’t then there so many good options! Looking forward to coming back soon and also bringing my friends.

Die Location, die Bedienung und das Essen war hervorragend. Wir waren auf unserem Rotterdam-Trip gleich 2 Mal hier. Die Auswahl der Speisen war sehr vielseitig hier findet jeder was. Besonders hervorzuheben war die kompetente Beratung bezüglich Allergien. Hier gab es tatsächlich glutenfreie Gerichte und nicht nur "irgendwie" versuchte Alternativen zu kreieren. Vielen Dank, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden sicherlich wieder kommen.

Had brunch today 24/02/2024 with my daughter. Mimosa was tasty. The waiting time was longer than usual but it was 100% worth it.

It's not what it used to be anymore. The kitchen has deteriorated rapidly. Price-quality ratio is now hard to find. Service was nice and friendly. We came here about twice a year, but this was the last time for us, at least for the time being (hoping to see good reviews again).

Not the best experience. The service was wuite bad, as even though it was not busy everything took forever, especially someone to take our order and the food to be ready. I asked for water at the end and I never got it. The food was okay but nothing special. I had the veggie club sandwich, which had only veggies ans cheese. I had to order this cuz of lack of options.

Bad quality and experience ever🤢🤢. Really expensive. I paid €15.50 for this sandwich and it is really not normal. 3 pieces of bread and a few pieces of chicken fillet and you can really buy it for €3.00 at AH🤮🤮🤮🤮 .....what a thief 😕

Food was good, the lady who served us did not say please or thank you once and looked at us with reluctance every time
