Together with my daughter we had high tea. The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly 🌸only I thought we got little for what we paid per person.

nice to sit there, but it is very pricey and way too expensive, you get very little for your money. the sandwiches start at 15 euros, and are way too expensive for a small bun. by the rest good service, friendly staff and atmosphere.

Like everywhere else, prices in the catering industry have risen. But it's a good place to be here! We were kindly helped by the employees of By Mi & Es. And we enjoyed a great lunch, with delicious fresh ginger tea and a cup of cappuccino. Close to Rotterdam train station! Would easily go back here, beautiful location and attractively decorated. Around 11.30 we were having our lunch, and more people naturally trickled in who also came for high tea and the like. Was happy to have reserved in advance.

Did a high tea and the whole experience was wonderful. It was quite last minute, but the staff was understanding and Dion helped us wonderfully 🙏 The food was amazing and all really tasty. Would definitely recommend!

An Instagrammable restaurant. It is smaller than expected. The restaurant caters to large groups. On the weekends you can expect bridal or baby showers. We had an afternoon tea with a group of girls. All the girls had a good time. If you order the *premium* afternoon tea you will receive a glass of (alcohol-free)prosecco and a selection of chocolate-covered strawberries and heartshaped cake pops and macarons. However, if you order the *standard* afternoon tea, you will mostly receive savoury items. There are scones with clotted cream and jam, but no cake / no brownie / no chocolate. We enjoyed the salmon wrap, tuna melt and pulled chicken. But we did not like the selection of Danishes (= mini croissants and mini pain au chocolat) because they were very dry instead of flaky and buttery. We also did not enjoy the scones. Partially because of the raisins and partially because they were hard. You are offered unlimited tea, but you will only have one flavour of tea (a black tea - which may not be to everyone's taste). And, you are offered a glass of orange juice or strawberry smoothie. The orange juice is not fresh, which is a shame. We had a good time. We took cute photos on the swings and with the flower wall. However, we didn't think it was good value for money.

Yesterday we celebrated my bachelor party here. The high tea was perfectly organized! Service was great! Very nice atmosphere! Definitely recommended!

Had a high tea today at By Mi & Es. Extremely friendly staff. Excellent service. We were regularly asked if everything was still satisfactory. The high tea was very tasty! And more than enough items per person. The inside of the store is very nicely decorated and has a nice atmosphere and appearance.

The 4 of us were here for a High Tea via social deal. The youngest is 47, the oldest 88. We all agreed: Nice mix of savory and sweet, everyone liked everything equally. Personally, I found the sweetness a bit too sweet, but I quickly get the hang of that, so that's probably more just me ;) The service was top notch. Very friendly welcome, extra attention to the needs of the elderly. And also the operation, explanation and regular checking whether everything is as desired. Great to see that (relatively) young people can work together to create such a beautiful product in the heart of Rotterdam. Big 5 stars from all of us

Good experience, food was tasty, cozy atmosphere and good service

Absolutely no value for money. High tea is very disappointing for what has to be paid. No fresh tea but Lipton bags. There is very little spread on the table for the brown mini rolls. The same goes for the scones, very little jam and cream. The decoration of the place may look nice, but you can't eat from it. Not recommended, there are other and better options available.

The local is beautiful, and the music playing in the background fits the ambience. The brunette girl who served us was lovely and impecable. Me and my friend tried the french toast, I found it too sweet, but my friend loved it, so it depends on your personal taste. Do believe it's a bit expensive and a bit of a splurge for a simple meal like we had.

Sorry I'm not quick to give bad reviews but this was terrible. Paying for toilet while you are a customer. Fortunately, this was an employee's mistake. Got money back afterwards. Vegetarian food was very minimal and overpriced. Staff inside, not on the terrace, was very friendly. Unfortunately we didn't enjoy the summer carnival at all and we left after a sky-high bill, which was only drinks with a nasty aftertaste. Very unfortunate because I think you would be a lot of fun if there were no summer carnival. My tip; better prepare for a busy day.

We ordered a high tea for two. We waited sooooo long for our food to come, or any tea at all. I think she forgot about us. After we got our stuff and went home, we realised that there were many things we did not get, which were on the menu. Such a bummer!

Coffee is fine but the service is terrible. If you are sitting there and have to feed your baby, this is not an ideal place because they send you away under the guise of wanting something to drink. They gossip among themselves about customers. We just left because they were busy, so you have to constantly order food and drinks to be allowed to sit there a little longer. That's the motto of this bad business

Very nice instagrammable location. Inside very small, cramped. Not much food for high tea for 2 people, had to order extra food. Price compared to other locations is expensive.

I came here last week for a brunch and i must say. This is one of the best places i’ve eaten so far!! The wait was a bit long but totally worth the wait. Also the interior was very very cute. They have great staff who are very honest and open about your order and knownwhat they are talking about. The Crispy chicken bao is TO DIE FOR!! And the tuna melt…. Chef’s kiss!! Als their signature watermelon cocktail/mocktail was the cherry on the cake. If you want good food en have enough time i would highly reccomend this place.

If you want to get your food on time, don’t go here! We sat down at a table, waited 15 mins to be served and then waited 10 minutes for our drinks only to then wait an hour for food that never arrived. Once we said enough is enough we asked to just pay for drinks and they said “your food is now ready”. Kindly they understood that waiting 1 hour for our simple meal is ridiculous and they offered our drinks for free! So the staff are very kind. But honest review here, nice people but something needs to be fixed at least in our opinion.

We had to wait a little longer for our food but the employees are attentive and friendly. Nutella pancakes were delicious and the tuna melt is the tastiest in Rotterdam!

Reserved a table for 6 people for a surprise party for a friend. We received a friendly welcome and the service was top notch. All employees were friendly and helpful. There was a misunderstanding with the drinks, but it was resolved quickly. As a bonus for the wait we received delicious macarons. The food was delicious and we enjoyed everything we ordered. There was a cozy and warm atmosphere. I will definitely come back again soon. Thank you very much Mia!

We had high tea today at 4:00 PM. This was a very nice experience!! We first received an explanation of how a high tea works. After this, the snacks were served and we were given an explanation of what kind of snacks they were. The waitress was very friendly and regularly asked if everything was OK and if there was anything she could do for us The snacks were delicious We are very satisfied!! A cozy atmosphere and beautiful decor Highly recommended !!

We booked through SocialDeal for high tea, we got a bit more food than planned, including some extra macaroons and chocolate covered strawberries at the start and at the end to take home. Staff was really helpful and nice, food was amazing .

Too expensive and very slow service.

Took a long time before the order was taken. There were 4 of us. The order arrived in 3 parts. This meant we could not eat together. The table had not been cleaned properly.

Had a lovely lunch yesterday. Fresh bread with toppings, salads and juice. In addition, the person was very friendly. A nice location for a party. I will definitely come here again.

Had high tea yesterday, was very disappointed. You get little for what you pay. No choice of tea, you get tea with a bag in the pot. The strawberries were very small, you could have at least given 2. I have had a high tea before, always with lots of snacks and sweets, but again this was a disappointment. Pity! Several people who were there yesterday for high tea said exactly the same thing, asked the waiter if there was more to come, but alas! What is on the website is very misleading. I will soon have a high tea at Polaberry Rotterdam for a baby shower, but I'm going to cancel that.. Only the mini strawberry is missing from the photo. This was what we got for €32.95 pp

What should have been a nice high tea turned out to be a major disappointment. It was once and never again. Expensive and unfriendly staff. We had reserved high tea more than a week in advance, including a lactose-free variant. A high tea cost €32.50 and there was an additional charge of €5 for the lactose-free variant (our friend is lactose intolerant). We have enjoyed high tea before elsewhere and for this amount you expect a bit more and fresh products. There was a 'standard' bake-off mini croissant and mini chocolate roll and mini scone for everyone, one breakable roll (as in really a loose piece of bread per person), a 1/2 mini ciabatta tuna-melt, a mini hamburger with pulled chicken and an espresso cup of coconut soup. For dessert there was a macaron and a chocolate dipped strawberry per person. We were not given any cutlery to cut or pierce anything with a fork. Tea types to choose from: English breakfast, green tea and forest fruits. That was a lipton tea bag, not even loose tea. It was all tasty in itself, but you understand that it is quite disappointing for the money. Especially because we weren't sitting well, two of us were on the couch next to the door and I was 'allowed' to sit on an ottoman/stool. For a 2-hour high tea, it is nice to have a chair with a backrest. When the group next to us (also three ladies having high tea) said that they did not like sitting on a stool, they were offered chairs. So I say something about that in turn and I get a folding chair, the kind you sometimes sit in a theater hall or community hall. Why not a regular chair? They needed that for the other tables, where there were reservations (which had not yet been received). When the ladies next to us had high tea, they were offered another table that was larger for all the snacks. Because there was quite a bit on the table. The table was also really small, more like for two people. Our high tea comes shortly afterwards, which did not fit on the small table. So when our high tea arrives, we move the table where the other ladies had been sitting closer, because it was too much to place on that small table (in the photo the two tables have been pushed together). The staff then indicated that that was not the intention, because that table was needed for upcoming reservations or people who just walked in. They also wanted to serve those people and not say 'no' to them. Unfortunately, quite a discussion arose. If you take too many reservations, it is not your guests' problem but that of the establishment/management! Little understanding was shown and no indulgences were offered. We had to make a deposit to complete the reservation, so that they are of course sure that you will come. We actually wanted to get up and leave after the discussion. This was the first and last time for us. A shame, because the lunchroom looks nice.

Nice appearance, but breakfast was disappointing. Had breakfast twice for 1 person and it came with pitifully small bowls of eggs and 2 mini croissants that wouldn't even fill a newborn. Smoothie was also not tasty. They forgot cutlery so we waited 5-10 minutes for it. Finally asked myself. Too bad I had higher expectations.

Service is a piece of trash. Employees probably graduated from Dummy University. Here’s our story: - We made a 2-people reservation for high-tea & had to pay a 30 EURO deposit. Steep but OK - expectations are high. - Realized we reserved for the wrong date because we got a call 2 days prior to the intended reservation. Mistakes happen. - SO we apologized (multiple times) and asked to reschedule. Negative-IQ-employee said “the manager will call back in 10 mins” - never heard from them. - SO WE CALLED BACK AGAIN the next day to basically hear “Sorry, you lose your deposit. And no, you cannot use the same deposit for a new reservation of high-tea or lunch or anything”. Classy service. - When we asked why?! - apparently they “had to throw out 90 euros worth of food”. Don’t fool us - we know you buy in bulk at lower prices & sell it for higher. That’s how profit works here. In short - no alternatives were proposed, no empathy was given, and hence, no customers were retained. Here’s some advice (running a business - lesson 001): - Mistakes happen. Imagine your kitchen served the wrong food, or broke glasses. Do you handle internal slip ups the same way? Probably not. If so, I feel sorry for you. - If you had returned the money or found an alternative with the customer, guess what? We probably would have come back (maybe multiple times) and made you a LOT MORE than 30 euros. Instead, you settled for 30. Well done, dummy. I’ve read other poor reviews here, and a common theme is ‘customer service sucks’. Keep this up & your current rating (4.6) with just 361 reviews will be a lot lower when you’re at a 1000 reviews - making you mediocre (if not disappointing) at most.

We entered the restaurant and immediately there was no atmosphere, it was cold and it took a long time for the food to arrive, once we waited the snacks arrived, the bread is cheap baked bread, it is also not much food for what you order. Very unfortunate, I will DEFINITELY NOT come back, it is also not recommended!

Before it was called Polaberry and now it is called By Mi & Es. Even through same decor and same interior design, the menu had definitely changed. Especially the different choices of the strawberries dipped in different coating like chocolate, strawberry sweet coating etc have significant lessen. Nowadays you can only choose strawberry in white chocolate or dark chocolate or milk chocolate. And a small choice of macarons and one kind of cake pops. The strawberries still tasted good, but less pretty and less choices than before. The french toast was different than what we are used to, very sweet and lack of eggs, you can only taste cinnamon, but they do give you plenty of fruits. Besides sweets we also ordered savoury dishes. Maybe because the place is relatively new so the staff made two mistakes with the order. Perhaps writing the order down instead of memorising would be better?

Als je lekker wilt eten op een mooie locatie raad ik By Mi & Es echt aan! Een ruime keuze aan lekkernijen, zoals chocolade aardbeien, cashewballen, macarons, en nog veel meer. Je kunt er ook heerlijk lunchen. Onlangs met een groot gezelschap geweest en alles was tot in de puntjes geregeld, personeel was erg meedenkend en oplossingsgericht toen we, zonder dit van te voren aan te geven, een groter aantal mensen mee brachten. Een echte aanrader. Top!

High tea via social deal voor 4 personen. Warme ontvangst, vriendelijk personeel. Leuke inrichting en nette schone wc. De high tea zelf was zoet/hartig en een soepje. Tevreden klant🥰

Gezellige sfeer. Zelf vonden wij de high tea niet zo byzonder. Er werd aangegeven dat het een luxe high tea was maar dat vonden wij wel meevallen. Persoonlijk vonden wij het eten weinig maar wel lekker. Bij andere high tea's die wij hebben ooit hebben gedaan kregen we veel meer broodjes etc. Wat wij ook nog nooit hadden meegemaakt was dat we 1 soort thee mochten uitkiezen en daar werd dan een pot thee van gezet. Terwijl wij normaal gesproken bij andere high tea's verschillende smaken thee krijgen met een pot heet water. Beetje jammer...

Geweldige babyshower hightea gehad, zowel het eten en het personeel zijn krijgen een 10. Herhaling vatbaar nogmsals mijn complimenten voor de team.

A cute and aesthetic breakfast place in a central location! The pancakes were very tasty and the happy strawberry smoothie was very fresh. I do enjoy restaurants that have such a specific and extravagant decór that you feel like you are somewhere else for a bit and this place has that!

Vandaag een verjaardagsfeest geviert bij Mi & Es. Wij hebben met 12 meiden een high tea gedaan. Ik kan alleen maar zeggen dat ik super tevreden ben. Echt alles was lekker, severing is goed, personeel is vriendelijk. Prijsverhouding klopt met wat je er voor terug krijgt. Mooi interieur. Ik kom zeker nog eens terug. Bedankt voor alles.

Composed a beatiful box with cake slices and strawberries for an event. They were very helpful, enthusiastic and full with great ideas.

Wat een leuke lunchroom. Mooi groot terras, maar ook binnen heel erg mooi ingericht. Je kunt er ontbijten , lunchen en terecht voor een high tea. Vooral de aardbei met Belgische chocolade was verrukkelijk. Mijn vriendin Johanna heeft me dit laten zien, en ik kom zeker terug.

Ik heb hier afgelopen dinsdag mijn verjaardag mogen vieren. Door omstandigheden van onze kant kon er pas kort van tevoren gereserveerd worden. Ondanks het korte tijdsbestek was letterlijk alles tot in de puntjes geregeld. Het feestje begon met een super lekker welkomstdrankje. De high tea was héérlijk en alles zag er prachtig uit helemaal versierd in mijn favoriete kleur roze. Er waren o.a. heliumballonnen, een super schattig en lekker taartje, macarons en aardbeien met roze chocolade waarop mijn naam en happy birthday stond in gouden letters. Wat ook erg leuk was, was de roze polaroid camera waar we foto's mee mochten maken. Al het eten was heerlijk en de mensen die er werken onwijs aardig en staan echt voor je klaar. Wat een Fantastische plek om lekker te genieten. Dank jullie wel voor deze onvergetelijke verjaardag !!

Hier op een zondag wezen lunchen. Knus, klein restaurant. Mooi roze interieur. Het was er aardig druk toen wij er waren. De high tea schijnt hier populair te zijn. Ook kan je hier in chocola belegde aardbeien afhalen. Ze zien er erg mooi uit! We namen voor lunch de zalmsalade met rode ui, ingelegde komkommer en brood erbij, American pancakes met fruit en crispy sushi met avocado, unagi en sesamzaad om samen te delen. Alles smaakte prima. Gewoon goed maar niet bijzonder. De sushi had roze rijst van binnen dus dat was wel een leuk detail. Leuk om een keer bezocht te hebben. Maar niet meer dan dat.

Leuke plek waar je veel keus hebt. Iets te drinken met of zonder chocolade aardbeien of ontbijten/lunchen. Ook kan je een high tea doen. Heb je allergieën dan wordt daar ook aan gedacht. Ik heb de breakfast voor 2 genomen, een aanrader!
