The building itself on Leeuwenstraat dates back to 1932 and long before the first guitars, the smell of fresh pastries filled this place, because in the 1930s this building housed the G. Vegter bakery. Then the street changed, old shops disappeared, signs were replaced, and these walls continued to absorb the stories of the people who passed through them. Today, a completely different era lives here, an era of blues, classic rock, southern rock and hard rock. De Kroeg is a place where music is not just playing in the background, but is part of the character of the establishment itself. This is a true bruin café, the traditional Dutch "brown cafе". In the Netherlands, this is not simply an old bar with a dark interior, but a true part of Dutch culture.
