Café van Amstel in Zuid

I will definitely go there again, friendly Kastelijn, a bit of a shame that there is a pool table on the dance floor.

Cozy brown pub, slightly cheaper than the other pubs. Small terrace, so a chat with other guests comes naturally. You have to get food elsewhere.

I felt absolutely unwelcome in this café. When my girlfriend and I ordered two glasses of wine, we were met with a long and unfriendly "uuuuuuuh yeah..." in response, as if she'd rather not serve us anything. Very uncomfortable. What made it even stranger: all sorts of people were enjoying their drinks outside, but only we were immediately ushered in with ours. We were ushered in by a couple who seemed very drunk. I don't know if they were the owners, but it came across as incredibly unprofessional. We immediately put our full glasses of wine inside and left for another café where we were given a friendly welcome. A shame, because we were just there for a pleasant evening.

We always come back here to drink coffee. Delicious special coffee and super friendly service!
