I chose a tournedos at Clementine. The staff did not ask how I wanted it cooked. The tournedos was practically rare and was served pre-sliced ​​with 3 cauliflower florets in sauce. My son had the same, but his was served past well done, meaning overcooked. Moreover, my tournedos contained 3 large pieces of sinew, so it was not a tournedos, or at least not a good one. For the price, you should be able to expect more. The meat was served without fries or vegetables/salad. The experience is nice, but the quality leaves much to be desired. The service is reasonable, but nothing special. Not a repeat visit for me and my family. Perhaps for a drink, but that's it.

The team at Cafe Clementine were fantastic from start to finish. Contact by email while organising our event was clear, flexible and it was no problem for them to write to me in English. They provided the perfect spot for our large group, slightly away from the rest of the guests and the location its self was perfect, surrounded by greenery. The team had everything ready far in advance and let us come very early to decorate the area however we wanted, and then the guests arrived for the baby shower. The service was relaxed, attentive, super friendly and very organised. The food was absolutely delicious with plenty of vegetarian options, and the value for money for such a diverse and high quality spread was great. I would really recommend Cafe Clementine for any occasion and will certainly be back!

Great location, food organic from their own garden. Lots of lettuce and raw vegetables, dishes are bland in taste, little variety. Probably great if you are vegetarian, but if you aren't, it's a bit disappointing; I also found it really pricey.

Clementine has a sign hanging at the entrance branding itself as sustainable. (Green snacking, Rotterdam style) That looks like greenwashing. Because regarding a potentially temporary restaurant and a temporary garden, the intention is for this location to be filled with high-rise buildings by developer Emborion, the initiator of Clementine. The friendly staff didn't know if the restaurant would still be standing in 5 years. And they couldn't say whether certain ingredients came from the garden; the dishes I received from the chef's menu didn't make a local impression. Mango gazpacho, fjord cod with orzo. Dessert with ice cream and coconut. Tasty. Doesn't sound local. With some imagination, perhaps the lamb from the petting zoo? The garden is nice and the greenhouse too; it would be a shame and not exactly sustainable to tear this down. Nice place, local food and vegetarian options could be better. And as far as I'm concerned, the music could do without the same beat playing in the background.

Disappointing. I’ve been to Clementine often, and every time it was a reason to return, but now there seemed to be little passion left. You could taste it in the dishes and feel it in the atmosphere. Perhaps because the fruitpacking district project is starting soon and that is where it ends for Clementine. A shame.

We come here regularly and are always super satisfied. Unique location, very friendly staff, delicious food, and always a great atmosphere. Both the terrace and the interior are nice places to sit. Would definitely recommend it! 🙏🏼😍

Nice location with delicious dishes. We first enjoyed some drinks outside on the terrace, then went inside into the greenhouse and opted for the 5-course surprise menu. We had a lovely evening. Friendly and very helpful staff.

I wouldn't recommend it. It does look nice, and the concept is good too. But if you order coffee with cake, the cake arrives well over 10 minutes late. By then, the coffee is cold or finished. If you mention it, the staff reacts very rudely and piqued. Which surprised me greatly, because surely you should be able to receive feedback, especially regarding something so self-evident. It's a shame. You pay a hefty price for this, and you should be able to expect something in return. It is basic knowledge that you serve cake at the same time as coffee. To then not be open to feedback or compensation speaks volumes to me.

The atmosphere is truly amazing, and the food is very creative and deliciously conceived. It is highly recommended to pay a visit!

Had a delicious 4-course meal and the service was very friendly. I am not a big eater, but I did find the portions on the small side. Too bad about the sand on the Jerusalem artichokes (should scrub a bit better)! The wooden chairs are not very comfortable.

Nice place with friendly staff. It is not really centrally located, so you have to make a conscious effort to go there if you don't live nearby. The food is tasty and there is a relaxed atmosphere. Ideal for catching up quietly with girlfriends without feeling rushed.

We had a delicious meal, good flavors, and decent portions. We had a shared dining menu for 12 people, featuring fish, meat, and vegetarian options. It was very well organized. However, you do need to be open to trying new things. It got a bit chilly at times, but with the heaters in the right places, it was very pleasant. There is also a beautiful terrace for sunny days.

We had dinner on Valentine's Day; the room and tables were beautifully decorated. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The mocktail was delicious. The food wasn't that special this time. A lovely evening.

Beautiful place, friendly staff, delicious wine. Because they present themselves as a creative, organic, and nature-inclusive restaurant, I had high expectations, but I was very disappointed with the vegetarian multi-course menu. It included, among other things, a single falafel, two soft-boiled carrots, and a lot of celeriac. The artichoke heart was tasty, though. It might be better if you eat fish and meat, but I wouldn't recommend it for vegetarians. The concept sounded good, but it's a shame the price-quality ratio is so unbalanced. Otherwise, it's probably a nice place for a drink and lunch, but I went home hungry after dinner.

The ambience of the place is lovely as is the service. Two of us ordered a sandwich each and they were both delicious and I found the portions were big. Our third friend ordered the “Spitskool” which looked delicious. A great place to come for lunch or even dinner, especially if you are vegetarian.

Very friendly staff. The menu is sufficiently varied and a little more special than a typical grilled cheese sandwich or healthy sandwich at a cafe. They pay a lot of attention to organic and healthy food. It's a shame the orange juice was from a can. It really didn't fit their concept. There's also a large garden with a nice playground for the kids. We will definitely be back.

The café I walked into immediately gave me a warm feeling. The aroma of freshly ground coffee filled the air. I received my order quickly and with a friendly smile. The cappuccino was creamy yet strong, just the way I like it. The pastries tasted fresh and smooth. This café is highly recommended for coffee lovers.

I was introduced to Cafe Clementine thanks to a gift certificate, because, to be honest, I hadn't heard of it before. We had a delicious 5-course lunch; it looked beautiful, tasted fantastic, and the pairings were unique. The wines were lovely. A pleasant, relaxed, and light atmosphere. But above all, the staff were incredibly friendly. They were engaged and enthusiastic. In conversation, we discovered that the man who helped us had only been there for a month, but there was no telling. He knew exactly when to check in and spoke honestly and enthusiastically. We will definitely be back!

The sandwiches were amazing, and the apple crumble cake is also highly recommended. The service was super friendly and accommodating.

A wonderful Saturday morning! We were pleasantly surprised by the "Saturday Breakfast Club," which we hadn't known about beforehand. A super delicious breakfast and a great atmosphere!

Waiting ten minutes for someone to finally help you, and then having to wait another fifteen minutes for your drinks, in an empty cafe, on a Saturday evening of all days, is really not what you expect.

Super tasty food, good service and the environment is still under development

It's always pleasant to sit here, but the food was way overcooked. Unfortunately, all four of us had to wait at least 45 minutes for our main course, and the starter had cilantro in it, which wasn't mentioned anywhere, so it wasn't to our liking. We'd always had a good meal here before, so we were surprised. We mentioned it, and they thanked us for the honest feedback, but didn't do anything about it. They do serve it beautifully, though, and it's a pleasant place to sit.

We were there around 4:30 p.m. and wanted something good and quick to eat. There's only a small selection at that time, so we had no choice but to order the usual fried fare (bitterballen, fries, etc.). The prices were okay, but the staff were rather grumpy. You probably have to go in the evening for a good meal.

Great for people with celiac disease!! We had the 4 course menu and everything was neatly made gluten free for me. I even got my own bread. Communicate well with the waitresses about allergens and dietary requirements. I am sensitive to cross contamination so my fries could not be prepared in the same pan with the rest. They did this very neatly in a separate pan. My entree was also served first on the same board as the gluten containing food. I didn't dare take that risk, so I immediately got a new one on a separate board. Very neat! Food and drinks were delicious. Communication was good. Wooden chairs were a bit uncomfortable, cushions would have been nice. You can get wet if it rains since you are in a greenhouse. I got a few drops on my head but they quickly closed the roof. I come by more often for dinner anyway. Completely happy! 😋

A gem in Barendrecht. Enjoy a delicious coffee or lunch in a greenhouse, where much of it comes from your own garden. Easily accessible from Rotterdam by bicycle and also by public transport (behind Barendrecht station). Now still in an “empty” area. In a while it will be surrounded by luxurious high-rise buildings (a la little C). The owners have already cleverly responded to this.

The food was good. Unfortunately, the service and operation are a lot less than a year ago. Mediocre reception. Had to wait several times for service. Had to ask the waiter to come to the table to take some orders. During the main course, several table members had empty glasses. This is not seen by the staff. Shame. I find the atmosphere of the greenhouse very original, the staff is friendly and the food and drinks are tasty and varied. I also like to come when events are organized such as the market or the square cinema.

Gisteren met een groep van 9 personen gegeten. Vast menu , shared dinining. Voorgerecht 3 gerechtjes , carpaccio op een cracker, half stronkje little gem met zeewier en een Klein blokje pompoen met garnering Als hoofdgerecht kreeg we twee schalen , 1 met groente, en een schaal met vlees/groente en Witte feta achtige kaas. Was veel te weinig voor 9 personen. De helft van het gezelschap heeft geen vlees op. Het nagerecht maakte wel veel goed. 5 kleine hapjes, bolletje ijs, merengue, Appel crumble, lemon curd met een koekje en een stukje taart. Voor ons niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Went here for dinner on Saturday evening with a group of 5 people after hearing good things about it. This is a pop-up restaurant near Barendrecht station on the edge of an industrial estate. It is located in an old greenhouse and is tastefully decorated. We were received very warmly. The menu contains numerous dishes, including many vegetarian options. We chose to do shared dining and were surprised by the choices the waitress made. We asked her to surprise us and she handled it very well. The dishes were tasty and nicely prepared. They also have a wide choice of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks such as wine. In short, we thought it was a successful evening and will definitely return. Update October 19, 2024 Once again a delicious meal in a cozy setting. Nice staff too. The only thing to note is that the fries were forgotten and were served late and the cheese board was less good than the previous times, but that is also a matter of taste of course...

Super! We had a baby shower at Café Clementine. The environment alone is great. We opted for a lunch with sandwich, soup and salad. Healthy and delicious! There were a few miscommunications regarding the menu, but this was resolved quickly and everything else was well organised.

Ordered a glass of wine and a latte during the opening of the season. A real tragedy... There was a malfunction at the cash register. Waited more than half an hour, asked twice. And people who ordered at the bar were served earlier again and again. And then wait again to pay at the bar. The greenhouse is quite warm and with bright light when the sun shines. Nice place with potential but there is still a lot of work to be done...

We were here in rainy weather and sat inside. Personally, I found the greenhouse inside quite lacking in atmosphere and the chairs were worthless. But then the food. When it was already served I thought “huh where is the fish”?? Sincerely: a really tiny piece of (dorade) fish under some fried pieces/twigs of vegetables. When we were asked after checkout whether everything was satisfactory, we indicated that the price was not in balance with the minimum piece of fish. Unfortunately, nothing was done or responded to at all. And that's a shame because I would have come back for the nice ladies, but not for the food. The photos on the website do not reflect reality. So unfortunately not worth repeating...

Delicious food, different than usual.

My recent experience at Café Clementine was unfortunately disappointing. Upon entering it seemed like a cozy place for lunch, but that image quickly changed. What was particularly striking was the lack of hygiene in the kitchen. The cook, who was visibly working in the open kitchen, was constantly licking his fingers while preparing sandwiches. This made me feel uneasy about the hygienic standards of the restaurant. While I understand that kitchen workers have to eat too, I found it unprofessional and distasteful to see the chef bringing leftover food from the preparation to his mouth with his hands. The chef's behavior made it impossible for me to enjoy my lunch anymore. Hygiene should be a top priority in any kitchen, and unfortunately that wasn't the case here. For me this is a reason not to return to Clementine. Hopefully more attention will be paid to the basics of hygiene in this restaurant in the future.
